You can make a range of spiders with different coloured legs to decorate the whole house!
1. Push the the pointed end of a skewer through the centre of a large decofoam ball, then into a small decofoam ball. Paint both balls and the skewer in between them with black paint. Allow to dry.
2. Using scissors, cut the excess piece of skewer from the back of the large decofoam ball. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors.
3. Fold 4 chenille stems in half, then one by one wrap them around the piece of skewer between the large and small decofoam balls. These will become the spider’s legs.
4. Push a pair of 3D eyes into the small decofoam ball. Choose 24 metallic beads that will be used to decorate your spider’s legs. Thread one bead onto each leg and position them near the spider’s body.
5. Thread another bead onto each chenille stem and position them midway on the stem. Bend each chenille stem at a 90° angle after the second bead.
6. To create the feet, thread a bead onto each leg then fold the chenille stems over about 5mm from the end. Slide the bead partially over the folded part of the chenille stem to secure it into place. Your Beaded Spider is now ready to display!

1. Protect your work area with a splash mat or scrap paper. Paint 2 large wooden beads with black paint. Allow to dry.
2. Print the template on page 8 onto cardboard. Cut out the bat template. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Use paint to decorate the front and back then allow to dry.
3. Cut a 3 metre length of craft line. Thread one end through a bead and tie to secure in place. Repeat this process then trim the excess on the short end.
4. Measure and mark 1.5cm down from the top of a cardboard roll. Repeat for the other side, then both sides from the bottom of the roll. Use a hole punch to create a hole at each mark. Paint the roll black then allow to dry.
5. Use a needle to thread the end of the craft line through one of the bottom holes, then directly through the top hole. Clever Tip:
6. Fold down the top of the cardboard roll as shown above.
8. Attach the remaining bead onto the craft line, using the process outlined in Step 3.
9. Use sticky tape to attach the cardboard roll to the back of the bat template. Hook the loop of craft line at the top of the cardboard roll to something solid and pull the bead ends away from each other to watch your Bat fly!
7. Thread the craft line down through the opposite hole at the top, then out through the bottom hole.

Once the needle is threaded sticky tape the 2 craft line ends together.

Mini Skull Piñata Materials: • • • • • • •
Cardboard – White – A4 – Pack of 100 – 16288 Crepe Streamer – White – 24 Metres – 10958 CleverPatch™ Junior PVA Glue – 250ml – 10364 Curling Ribbon – Silver – 460 Metres – 10013 Clear Sticky Tape – 18mm x 66m – 17769 Wooden Skewers – Pack of 100 – 10014 Other Materials Required: Template (pgs 9-10), scissors and a ruler.
Make a garland by stringing a few Mini Skull Piñata’s together along some twine!
1. Print the templates on pages 9-10 onto cardboard. Gently run the pointy end of a skewer over the dotted lines on the template. This will help the tabs to fold easily after cutting.
2. Cut out the templates and skull face features. Adult supervision is recommended when using scissors. Mountain fold each tab on the template pieces as shown.
3. Cut a 15cm length of curling ribbon. Fold in half and place the ends on the inside of the back template piece as shown. Secure with tape.
4. Place the front template piece over the back and use sticky tape to secure both sides together to create a skull. Make sure to leave the flap at the bottom open so you can fill your Piñata!
5. Cut 1 x 22cm and 6 x 18cm lengths of streamer. Fold each strip in half horizontally. Cut each strip along the fold giving you 14 strips in total. Fringe each strip by snipping 1cm cuts evenly along the long edge of each streamer.
6. Apply glue to the base of the skull, then wrap one of the longer streamer pieces around to secure. Apply glue again just above this streamer, then wrap the other longer streamer around, partially covering the one below.
7. Continue to glue then wrap and overlap the remaining streamer pieces until the entire head is covered with fringed streamers. Trim any excess fringe as you complete the top of the skull. Allow to dry.
8. Use glue to attach the eyes, nose and mouth template pieces to the front of the skull. Attach a piece of curling ribbon with sticky tape to the flap on the base of the skull.
9. Your Piñata is now ready to be filled with small treats and displayed!

5. Once the straw is in place, fold the template up and secure together with tape as shown. Use a marker to push the rubber band down inside the template so it just peeks out the bottom.
6. Turn the box over and press 2 tacks into the wood at the end of the box where you slide the lid on. You want them to be approx. 1.5cm apart and 1cm in from the end of the box. If you’re struggling to push them through, use a hammer to tap them in. Adult supervision is recommended.
