Greetings Division 20! It’s finally summer! But that doesn’t mean Key Club stops - our service

year is just getting started! Please remember to keep up on your paperwork, even if your club isn’t very active. It’s good to get in the habit of completing the paperwork on a specific day each month. It’ll help you remember more! Our first divisional is coming up very quickly - it’s on August 26th! If

you haven’t tried to get ahold of your clubs, or haven’t emailed me about who will be able to attend, please do so ASAP! It seems like a long time away, but it’ll be here before we know it! I hope all of you have had a great start to your summer, did well on

your regents, and are continuing with Key Club! I’m headed to the International Key Club Convention, so I will bring back tons of knowledge for all of you. I’m looking forward to sharing all it all! Yours in service,

Camille Brock 3

Service Spotlight! The school in June’s service spotlight is, Maine-Endwell! Keep up the amazing work guys!

Each year as Maine-Endwell heads towards graduation, a rehearsal ceremony is mandatory in order to ensure all goes smoothly on the big day. Maine Endwell Key Club contributes to the excitement by a traditional service event - Lollipop grams for all graduating seniors. The officers and members of Key Club provide teachers throughout the entire district to write a note on a lollipop to give to their past students. A few days prior to the rehearsal ceremony, Key Club members gather in a classroom and sort the notes. It is also very important our members ensure each student has received a lollipop with a nice note on it. The volunteers spend all morning sorting, organizing lists, and making sure each graduate feels included and encouraged as they enter a new stage of their academic careers. By use of the lollipop grams and encouragement from the teachers who have inspired them, the lollipops bring the ‘sweet’ aspect to a bitter-sweet time in our lives. 5

Past Events Presidential Council Meeting: I was joined by two presidents on June 11th, and we talked about upcoming events and planned for the future. We mostly talked about our upcoming divisional event. (see upcoming events for more details) Thank you so much Corey and Sophia!

Upcoming Events Empire Road Race 10k: We have been asked by Thomas Ryan to assist with the Empire Road Race 10k! We would be road spotters and help hand out water. The date of this event is August 26th - so PLEASE SAVE THE DATE! And advisors, please email me how many volunteers you’d be able to provide!

Check out the June edition of the Governor’s Bulletin!

Don’t forget about our service goals! District Service Hour Goal: 130,000 hours District Fundraising Goal: $150,000

And, don’t forget about our service projects this year! Comfort Cases is our Governor’s service project, and One Tree Planted is our district project! Other ways you can also help out are through Kamp Kiwanis, the Lyme Disease Foundation, and the Pediatric Trauma Center. 7

ICON is right around the corner! This year it’s being held in Chicago! You have the opportunity to vote for the International Board, meet tons of new people, and better your service knowledge.

If you would like to go to ICON next year, start fundraising! I have no doubt in my mind that it’ll be an amazing experience! I can’t wait to share everything I’ve learned with you! 8
