Hey Division 20! School is just a few days away - are you ready? I’m definitely ready to be back. That means more Key Club meetings! There are so many updates throughout my newsletter, so please try and at least skim through the whole thing! First, I just want to thank all of the Key Clubbers who came out

to our divisional on the 26th! It was a huge success, so thank you all for giving up a few hours of your time to be there. Paperwork seems to be a big thing that we’re lacking. Please, PLEASE fill out your MRFs, ERF, and your FRFs. The MRF can be found here, the FRF can be found here, and the ERF can be found here. If you

haven’t filled out any MRFs yet, please go back and do so! It’s better to do so late than never so the district can keep up with our division’s progress. Please email me if you have any questions regarding the paperwork. Please save the date November 17th, from 9am-2pm, because that

is the day we will have Fall Rally! I am so excited for this day. We will be having an amazing keynote speaker, educational workshops, and we will be completing two service projects! Please let me know if you, or someone you know, would like to host a workshop or be a chaperone. To learn more about Fall Rally, please refer to page 7.

That’s all for now! Please continue to read on because there are many more updates in the newsletter. And remember, you can always contact me about anything! Yours in caring and service, Camille Brock

You’re Invited to Fall Rally! Fall Rally is a conference on November 17th from 9am-2pm with Key Clubbers from division 20 and division 22. There will be educational workshops, an amazing keynote speaker, and you will be able to learn so much more about Key Club! At Fall Rally, we will also be completing two service projects! We will be making dog toys, so bring old tshirts, and we will be making cards for Veterans.

I’m still looking for chaperones and for people to host workshops. Whether you’re a school administrator, club advisor, club officer, club member, Kiwanis member, or Circle K member, if you’d like to be a part of Fall Rally by chaperoning or hosting a workshop, please let me know! You can email me at division20@nydkc.org with what you’re thinking!

Do you have a service event that you would like to host, but you don’t have the funds to do it? Consider applying for the Youth Opportunities Fund! The Youth Opportunities Fund is a grant through Key Club International where your club can be awarded up to $2,000 to help with a service project. I would definitely talk with your club about applying. It’s such an amazing opportunity. To learn more, you can look here. The grant is not open yet, but I will let you all know when it is. In the meantime, if you have any questions, always feel free to email me at division20@nydkc.org. 8

Also - don’t forget about our endorsed projects! The Governor’s Project is Comfort Cases, and the district project is One Tree Planted. Comfort Cases is a project where it provides kids in foster care with a bag of their own. For every $10 donated, they can provide one foster child with a bag instead of the trash bag that their things are currently in. Please take a look at Comfort Cases here.

One Tree Planted is an organization that raises money to plant more trees where needed. $1 plants one tree. Take a look here. 9

My Key Club Story - told by a member directly from division 20. “I joined Key Club when I was a freshman and it was a great choice! Although I have only been in Key Club for a year I have learned so much about volunteering and how good it feels to help people. I got into Key Club because my older sister was in it and I was ecstatic when I could finally join as a freshman. I have had so many outstanding opportunities to volunteer at many different events but one event I will always remember is helping out at a benefit for one of my good friend’s father. He was in a motorcycle accident and a few Key Clubbers jumped at the opportunity to help a good friend. We went and served a spaghetti dinner then ran a bake sale. Overall this was my favorite event to because I knew I was helping a family that I held near and dear to my heart. Which leads me into my next topic, why I love Key Club. My favorite thing about key club is how I feel after knowing I helped someone. It is an amazing feeling, especially when it is appreciated by other people. It’s an emotion I will never get sick of. This is why I chose the word rewarding as one word to describe Key Club. The best reward is feeling proud of something you did for someone else. I will forever be thankful that I was able to do Key Club this past year and I can’t wait to continue throughout high school.” - From Lauren Davies (Candor High School) 12
