Greetings Division 20! I am very excited to be the new Lieutenant Governor of Division 20! To help you get to know me a bit better, I want to tell you a little about myself. I’m currently a sophomore at Candor High School. I participate in band and chorus, and I’m a part of my home Key Club. I’m a member of National Honor Society, Students Against Destructive Decisions, and I work with the Special Ed kids at my school. I’m very passionate about helping others, so I’m thrilled to start an amazing and rewarding service year with you all. On that note, I would like to come meet you all. During my term I would like to visit each of your clubs at least once. My hope is to also get many divisional events together so you can all meet each other as well. Some of my other goals are keeping the communication open between myself and all of the clubs, as I know that’s been an issue in the past. Also making sure all of your dues are being paid, and your paperwork is being sent in when it should be. I know we can do it! Once again, I’m looking forward to a wonderful year with you all. Division 20 is going to accomplish so much! Happy Key Clubbing! Sincerely, Camille Brock

Governor’s Greeting-
Hello NYDKC! My name is Erica Swirsky and I have the privilege of serving as your 2018-19 New York District Governor! I am a junior at Saranac Lake High School of Division 14. My term as Lieutenant Governor as well my experience at the International Convention really inspired me to run for this position. One thing I really want to focus on this year is increasing communication between the Executive Board and the club level and I want to provide clubs with a ton of new service opportunity ideas. I also want to expand the uses of our website and make it easier to interact with. Good luck to everyone this service year! I hope we can have the best year that the New York District has ever seen! If you ever need anything, feel free to reach out to me! Yours in Service, Erica Swirsky

Service Spotlight! This month’s service spotlight is - Candor! “The Candor Key Club was very honored to be invited to the annual luncheon in May sponsored by our local Kiwanians, the Owego Kiwanis club. We had a wonderful time meeting with our sponsors, enjoying great food, providing musical entertainment, and hearing and speaking about community service.” - From Mrs. Roessner (Advisor at Candor)

Past Events - We recently held a meeting where we discussed our goals for the year and the new LTG was sworn into office. This was held at Maine-Endwell High School, and we had representatives from M-E, Johnson City, Candor, and Seton Catholic. Also, Seton Catholic recently had a dinner with all of their members where their new members were sworn into office. The past two Lieutenant Governors were in attendance, as well as our newly elected LTG. Seton Catholic proposed their goals for the year, the parting officers offered up some tips to the incoming officers, and the seniors gave their final remarks. Congratulations to all the new officers at Seton Catholic!
Upcoming Events - As of right now, there are no upcoming events in the division. Soon we are going to try to get a Presidential Council Meeting together. More information will come on that soon!

The Leadership Training Conference this year was a success! We had one attendee from Division 20, and that was past LTG Rachael Rosenstein! “Rushing into a buzzing room filled with hundreds of cheering teenagers is a whirlwind experience. This is your entrance to Playfair- the kickoff activity of the Leadership Training Conference. This energy continues for the entire weekend. At the Leadership Training Conference this past year, I was able to surround myself with caring, motivated and inspirational fellow high schoolers from all around New York. I ate lunch with a kid from New York City who wrote a prize winning speech about his experience being homeless. I roomed with a girl accepted to Harvard. I talked to a friend who was going to Haiti for the second summer in a row to volunteer there. Most people I met however, were similar to me in that they were there mostly because they love that Key Club has given them somewhere to volunteer on the weekends and helped them to build friendships. LTC offers workshops, keynote speakers, and activities that help you to grow as an individual and as a leader. However, the most impactful part of LTC is always the people who attend. Meeting people from schools throughout the state who have all come together due to their love of community service is invigorating. LTC brings together amazing people throughout the state who all passionately work to make a difference in their community. It is a special opportunity that all key club members should experience at some point in their high school career!” - Past LTG Rachael Rosenstein
