FAIR TRADE MILL’S BID TO RAISE £500K
An innovative volunteer-run community project in the heart of Milngavie has launched an ambitious fundraising campaign.
and recreational purposes.
Already the former corn mill on the banks of the Allander Water has shown great promise. Thanks to the hard work from many local people, the building has been transformed into a cafĂŠ and a fair trade shop.
A cycling club meets weekly and there are regular jazz sessions, spinning sessions and local author presentations. Coffee mornings for elderly and housebound residents are also set to be launched.
Baldernock Gardening Club has brought the gardens back to their former glory, while a group of young gardeners with special educational needs have planted a herb garden for use in the mill kitchen.
Now there are plans to further develop and refurbish the mill to allow for greater community use of the mill.
Local clubs and groups have also started making the mill their base.
Consultation has indicated that flexible space at the mill would be welcomed by many local people and organisations, to be used for heritage, exhibition, educational

“Now we have further ambitions for Gavin’s Mill but sadly these ideas and plans far exceed our financial resource. This is why we are asking for help from friends and partners in the local community.
To help the mill realise its goal you could attend one or more of the fundraising events which will take place this year; sponsor one of the volunteers who plan to walk the West Highland Way in August; like and share the Gavin’s Mill and Save Gavin’s Mill for Milngavie Facebook pages; support the Gavin’s Mill Fairtrade shop and cafÊ with all profits going to the project; and visit the project’s Total Giving page to make a donation. DEBBIE WINS 100-MILE ULTRA RACE A high-flying Scottish ultra runner who trains with a local athletics club has triumphed in a gruelling long-distance race.
Debbie said: “In 2013, it was survival of the most stubborn because the weather was atrocious and it was like cross-country underfoot conditions. It was quite possibly the worst mud I’ve run in. I wanted to return to run the full route and this time we were lucky to have much better weather.”
Debbie Martin-Consani, of Gascube Harriers, was the first female in the Thames Path 100 (TP100) 2019. She ran 100 miles along the banks of the River Thames in 17 hours 40 minutes and took fourth place overall. She was eight minutes ahead of the second placed lady, Ingrid Lid of Norway.
However, she described the 2019 run as very tough. Debbie said: “It was the usual ultra rollercoaster. I had stomach and sickness issues. I had some real low patches from 60 to 80 miles but then I had to pull myself together when I realised the second lady, Ingrid, was catching me.”
It was Debbie’s second time at the TP100 after also finishing first lady in 2013. The race that year had to be rerouted due to the weather. Debbie confesses she returned to the race because it was “unfinished business”.
When they arrived at the 85-mile checkpoint together Debbie had to dig deep. She said: “This gave me the kick I needed and I had to push hard to break free from Ingrid. I was pleased to cross the finish line first.”
The 44-year-old, who has recorded a string of running achievements, is married to Marco Consani, also an ultra runner. They have a young son, Cairn, who enjoys running.

Local primary school children had a visit from a celebrated ocean rower recently. The pupils at Bearsden PS welcomed Elaine Hopley, who in 2017 became the first woman to row solo across the Atlantic in an open-class boat. Elaine was interested to find out more about the school’s exhibition on plastics and pollution. P7 pupils were presenting their research gathered as part of an environmental project. The event was part of Upstream Battle, a campaign by the charity Keep Scotland Beautiful, which focuses on marine litter. Hopley, who is ambassador for the campaign said she was inspired by the work of the children

A local organisation that supports people in a caring role is hosting a special event this month. East Dunbartonshire Carers Link is inviting local carers to enjoy an afternoon tea on Tuesday June 11 from 12.30pm to 3pm in Milngavie. The event is in celebration of National Carers Week, which takes place between June 10 and 16. Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. Heather McKelvie, of Carers Link, says: “As always, we will be taking time out to celebrate and recognise the incredible
contribution that carers make to families and communities. “We are keen to welcome as many carers as possible to our afternoon tea in Milngavie. “The afternoon will include a performance and a sing-a-long with our Carers Choir. “The staff’s home baking skills will once again be put to the test, although we’ll probably leave the sandwiches to the professionals.” If you are caring for a family member or friend and would like to go along to the event contact Heather on 0800 975 2131. “The type of cancer that Alexander has is relatively underresearched, so I'm raising money for The Everest Centre, which is a specialist project within the Brain Tumour Charity which researches slow growing brain tumours in children.”
Linda Robertson, from Milngavie, pictured with Alexander after completing her first marathon, raising £8,539 for two charities
A Milngavie mum is thrilled to have raised more than £8500 for two poignant charities by running her first ever marathon. Linda Robertson, who has two young children, completed the Virgin Money London Marathon 2019. She said: “I had always said I wanted to run one marathon in my lifetime and now I have done it. It was the stuff that dreams are made of and a phenomenal experience that I thoroughly enjoyed.” Linda has so far raised £8,539, including gift aid, for the two charities, The Everest Centre and
The Dementia Revolution. The donations will be split 50-50. Linda said: “I have chosen the Everest Centre because of sixyear-old Alexander, who is my cousin’s son. He was diagnosed with multiple slow growing brain tumours when he was two and spent years in and out of Great Ormond Street Hospital. “He had a great year in 2018, however December brought sad
The Dementia Revolution is the official charity of the Virgin Money London Marathon this year. It is a partnership of the Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer’s Research UK and aims to fund groundbreaking research into dementia. Linda gave her thanks to everyone who has donated to her causes. She said: “Together we have raised a lot of money. It’s a huge amount and I know it will be gratefully received by the charities.” You can still donate at: https:// uk.virginmoneygiving.com/ lindaslondonmarathon

Milngavie businesses have voted to continue Milngavie BID for a another 5 years
Businesses in Milngavie have voted to continue the Business Improvement District (BID) term for another five years. Of those traders in the town centre eligible to vote, 52 voted in favour of continuing for another five years and 33 voted against. Turnout was almost 66%. Graeme Ross, chair of Milngavie BID and a local business owner, said: “We are obviously really pleased with the vote of confidence by businesses based on our previous achievements. “However, we appreciate it’s very important to build on our strengths and not be complacent, especially in today’s environment.
“We are already focusing our attentions on delivering the plan that business owners voted on. “The new Milngavie.co.uk is also our central marketing tool moving forward.” Total funding for Milngavie BID is £515,000, including £150,000 from East Dunbartonshire Council. Funding is raised from the businesses in the town centre by way of an annual levy based on rateable value. Graeme added: “All this money will be put towards initiatives to

COUNTING PEOPLE ON THE WAY Two counters have been installed on the first stretch of the West Highland Way near Milngavie. Solar-powered, the devices count the number of walkers and cyclists using the longdistance trail. Thomas Glen, the East Dunbartonshire Council's depute chief executive - Place, Neighbourhood & Corporate Assets, said: “The council is working with Cycling Scotland (CS) to gather further information on usage of the West Highland Way. “The counter has been installed by CS to register the number of cyclists and walkers passing by, and the data will be used to help inform studies and potential future plans. It will be in place initially for five years."
CHARITY’S CENTENARY OPEN DAY SUNNY WALK OF WITNESS A charity shop in Bearsden is celebrating a centenary year by hosting an event to encourage more people to volunteer. The local branch of Save the Children is hosting the open day, from noon to 4pm, on June 6. Catherine, a volunteer at the local Save the Children shop, said: “The aim is to encourage as many people as possible to come along to the event to see what volunteering with us is like and if it’s for them.” It was in May 1919 that Eglantyne Jebb founded Save the Children with her sister Dorothy Buxton. The idea came about after Eglantyne’s arrest in Trafalgar Square, London, for protesting about the starvation being caused by British blockades following World War I.
Save the Children was formed with the aim of feeding and educating children. Save the Children has worked tirelessly over the 100 years within and outwith the UK tackling child poverty, child protection, children’s rights, education, health, hunger and humanitarian emergencies. In 2017 alone, Save the Children helped 1.6 million children out of extreme poverty. Everyone is welcome at the Bearsden Save the Children centenary event at 47 Milngavie Road. Some refreshments will be provided. See Save the Children Bearsden on Facebook.
The sun shone on a special event organised by local churches recently. The churches in Milngavie celebrated Easter with a series of evening meetings, led by local ministers, during Holy Week. The culmination was a Walk of Witness through the village. Howel Jones, a member of Allander Evangelical Church, said: “Starting at The Clock in Milngavie, about 150 people walked around the village precinct in a silent procession behind a wooden cross. “They stopped at various points to sing Easter hymns and read relevant passages from the Easter Story. “It was wonderful occasion and in such glorious weather.”

A series of art installations have been popping up across Bearsden and Milngavie as part of a wider history and heritage project. Perhaps you have spotted the brightly coloured vinyl installation that spans the windows of the Milngavie Heritage Centre? This work has been created by Rachel Barron to celebrate the vibrant heritage of Burnbrae Dye Works and the Turkey red textile industry. Meanwhile, at Kilmardinny House in Bearsden, artist Elpida Hadzi-Vasileva has produced The Kilmardinny Tree. The artwork reinvents a fallen tree and features guilded gold leaf. It pays reference to the calico industry and Robert Dalglish.
Dalglish, a Member of Parliament for Glasgow, acquired Kilmardinny in 1853 and was the head of the Calico printing firm of Dalglish Falconer & Company. Maybe you have also seen the ceramic “rock” artworks that line a section of the West Highland Way above Allander Water? Created by Glasgow artist Rachel Mimiec, the installations make

These works feature portraits of local people, gathered at the Bearsden & Milngavie Highland Games and the Kirkintilloch Canal Festival. The films will be projected on to pavements at night at Bearsden Hub. A young dancer from Milngavie has raised £1600 for the STV Children’s Appeal as part of a Strictly Kids event.
KILTWALK PLAYERS RAISE £800
Seven-year-old Rico Lanzani, who is in P3 at Milngavie Primary, was one of 46 children that took part in the television show. He danced with Megan Monahan, also seven, from Erskine. As well as online donations, Rico’s mum Eilidh organised a family danceathon in Milngavie for the charity, which raised more than £700. The mum said: “Strictly Kids went wonderfully. Rico and Megan danced beautifully, with perfect timing, which is not easy with a cha cha cha. “They really did us proud and we enjoyed the whole experience immensely.” The event was filmed by STV for a future programme.

He and Megan scored two 9s and two 10s from the judges and they were the first couple to score 10s. “They did not win but they did really well. It has been such a great experience for all of the children involved.” She added: “We have been overwhelmed by the support from friends, family and especially the people who attend my classes.”

CELEBRATION FOR VOLUNTEER CARERS
JOE TO CAMPAIGN FOR CHANGE
Late News Friday 21st
A local charity that supports unpaid carers is hosting an event for volunteers as part of a special week. East Dunbartonshire Carers Link is inviting volunteers to celebrate the impact they have on helping carers as part of Volunteers’ Week, from June 1 to 7. The event takes place at Milngavie Youth Centre on June 6 and will include a mindfulness session for the volunteers, as well as a raffle and a certificate ceremony. The annual Volunteers' Week offers a chance to celebrate and say thank you for the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK. See carerslink.org.uk
A newly elected Member Scottish Youth Parliament is encouraging young people to get in touch with ideas about positive change. Joe Thomas, a Bearsden Academy pupil, is one of three new members from East Dunbartonshire elected to the Scottish Youth Parliament. He will represent the Milngavie & Clydebank constituency, while two other young people, Charlotte Boyle, of St Ninian's High School, and Caitie Mak, of Lenzie Academy, will both represent the Strathkelvin & Bearsden constituency. An election was contested by 12 candidates aged 12 to 25. New MSYP Joe said he was “extremely excited” to begin work in his new role. He added: “I’ve got big plans and hope to see some real change in East Dunbartonshire – and Scotland as a whole – for young people.
“If people have any ideas, or queries about my plans, they should feel free to get in touch with me on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram @joethomasmsyp. “I’m always happy to talk. I know that together, we can achieve a lot over the next two years and I cannot wait to get started.” Some 5,562 votes were cast throughout East Dunbartonshire in the Scottish Youth Parliament election. Joint council leader Vaughan Moody said: “This is an opportunity for Joe, Charlotte and Caitie to raise the issues that matter to them and other young people at the highest level.”

HAZEL IRVINE OPENS MEN’S SHED What's Up Doc? with Dr Nick Dunn
This month: NO PAIN - NO GAIN...? The Milngavie and Bearsden Men's Shed was officially opened by Hazel Irvine
A crowd of some 200 people attended the official opening of Milngavie and Bearsden Men's Shed. Local resident and sports broadcaster Hazel Irvine did the honours at the Pagoda Building in George V Park on May 11. The ceremony took place in superb weather with musical entertainment by a local choir. Once opened, visitors were able to see for themselves the transformed pavilion, which has lain derelict for 25 years. Much of the work to create a modern kitchen, recreational space, two workshops and two accessible toilets has been carried out by volunteers with professionals only called upon for the roof work and double glazing.
The Men’s Shed opening event also played host to a barbecue and children’s entertainment, as well as craft stalls exhibiting the varied skills of the shedders. The Milngavie and Bearsden Men’s Shed is part of a growing network of similar projects across the UK. The concept is that a Men’s Shed offers a group of men a place to enjoy hobbies and pastimes and to share the tools in a safe, friendly and inclusive venue. Find out more at Milngavie and Bearsden Men's Shed on Facebook.
A few weeks ago the Health Department announced that there would be “Government Health warnings” on packs of strong pain-killers such as codeine and morphine to alert people to the dangers of long term use of these for noncancer pain. There have been growing concerns both here and in America that people are becoming addicted to drugs for long term conditions such as back pain or arthritis which are causing a worsened quality of life. These can cause constipation, fatigue, and low mood and often do little to help the patient’s overall health and well-being.
Admittedly it has been difficult for GPs faced with patients complaining of recurring or long-term pain to offer help in the short term, other than resorting to the prescribing pad. The first rule of Medicine is “first do no harm”, and perhaps adding to patient’s problems by prescribing strong painkillers may not be the best option in the long term. Pain is a distressing unpleasant experience but is mediated through three main mechanisms – Physical, Psychological and Emotional. Hopefully we can look to a future where we address the pain problem more holistically and reduce reliance on drugs?

The final concert of an innovative music programme for young people in East Dunbartonshire was described as “absolutely electric”. The afternoon of songs and music at Cairns Church was the culmination of an exciting programme for primary school and high school pupils organised by McOpera as part of Milngavie Music Club’s activities. The Friday Afternoons - A Song for Flight project began with a workshop earlier this year when members of McOpera Outreach worked with 120 young people region-wide. As part of the project McOpera’s vocal coach and composer Moira Morrison was funded by Glasgow Airport’s FlightPath Fund to write a song with P5 pupils from Clober
Primary School in Milngavie and St Machan’s RC Primary School in Lennoxtown. The aim was to explore their experiences of living under the flight path. From their ideas, she composed A Song for Flight. At the concert, the pupils performed alongside singers from the ED Children’s Chorus and were accompanied by string players from ED Instrumental Music Service Senior String Ensemble and the Music School of Douglas Academy. Moira said: “The children gave their song depth and provided a poignant angle.”
The second half of the concert comprised a selection of music by Britten, Bridge and Holst. It was performed by 19 high school string players, who had worked with McOpera’s professional orchestral players.
Alzheimer’s Scotland
Project manager Sue Baxendale described the concert as “really special”. She said: “What the young people achieved as an ensemble was more than just a great performance, it was absolutely electric. It was a passionate and driven musical unit – and absolutely thrilling for the audience.”

MMC plan to continue the young musicians’ programme with McOpera next year. See www.milngaviemusic.org and mcopera.com.

A popular week-long local festival kicks off this month with more events than ever before – and almost all of them free. Milngavie Week starts on Saturday June 8 with the promise of 50 events organised by almost 200 volunteers. Ruth Blakey, one of the organisers, said: “The festival will be the biggest yet and we are delighted that there is so much to offer all ages.” Toddlers and kids will be entertained with two treasure hunts, a cat show, Jo Jingles and Gymboree, Spot the Error, pond dipping, a debating competition, a flash fiction essay-writing competition and an art exhibition.
For active people, there will be guided walks, Corbett and Munro bagging, golf, footgolf, football, yoga and a silent disco on offer. If you like art and culture, the festival has arranged for a carers' choir, authors talking about their work, a Hobbies R Us demonstration, a craft workshop, an art exhibition, classical and folk music, as well as a photography exhibition. There will also be a senior citizens’ bus trip to Lomond Shores, and a quiz and raffle.
Wilson Blakey, another of the organisers, added that the festival is grateful that almost all of last year’s organisers have committed to being part of the event again. He said: “We are also delighted that new people are joining in and we are really looking forward to another successful week.” Last year, Milngavie Week raised more than £10,000 for various charities and they are keen to beat this target this month. You can pick up a Milngavie Week Programme in local shops. See info652106.wixsite.com/ milngavieweek or search for Milngavie Week on Facebook and Twitter.

GREEN LIGHT ON TICK AWARENESS Did you notice Bearsden Community Hub and Milngavie Town Hall turning green last month?
Gillian Mackay, an "accidental pig farmer"
PAIR CREATES UK FOOD HUB A couple who describe themselves as “accidental pig farmers” has launched a new website that champions local food in the UK. David Campbell and Gillian Mackay came up with the idea for The Great British Food Hub after an on-line sales outlet that they had previously relied on pulled out of the UK. The Strathblane couple had sold their pork products via Milngavie Food Hub on a French small producer website.
we sold our pork online alongside other small scale producers, but when it pulled out of the UK we were back at square one. So, we decided to build a similar online platform for the UK.
Gillian said: “We gave up the rat race about 12 years ago when David gave me two spotty pigs for my birthday. We became pig farmers and founded a food business.
“It was a monster task but amazingly we were able to launch The Great British Food Hub as the French site closed.”
“We were introduced to the French website and from there
The new website connects artisan producers with a growing number of weekly Food Hubs around the UK.
Gillian said: “It is a fair system for producers, giving them a better return and no upfront costs. Food miles are low and there’s fantastic variety with many unknown gems that customers may not have found otherwise.” Customers sign up to the site, select a hub, shop from more than 20 local producers and pay online. A collection takes place each week where customers pick up their order and meet some of the producers. See www.thegreatbritishfoodhub. com, which hosts Milngavie Food Hub among many others. For further details you can call Gillian on 01360 771766 or email: gillian@thegreatbritishfoodhub.com.
The buildings were lit up in green from May 17 to 19 as part of a health campaign. May was Lyme Disease Awareness Month and green is the colour of the Lyme Disease UK (LDUK) charity. Lyme Disease is a severe multi-systemic illness caused by infection transmitted by a tick bite. The aim of the Wake Up to Lyme campaign is to raise awareness about ticks, how to prevent tick bites and what to do if you suspect you have been bitten by an infected tick. LEARN MORE ON YOGA DAY 2019
Senior Savvy
International Day of Yoga takes place this month with the aim of spreading the word about the benefits of the ancient practice. It’s the fourth celebration of Yoga Day, created by a UN resolution in 2014 calling on governments and people worldwide to raise awareness of the benefits of practising yoga. June 21 was chosen because it is the longest day in the Northern Hemisphere. Helen McGinn is a local yoga teacher and the founder of Yogability, a charity that provides free yoga to children and adults with special needs, as well as their carers. She says: “The benefits of yoga are vast, including increased health and wellbeing, improved circulation, flexibility and strength.
with Suhail Rehman This month:
“Yoga also offers a toolkit to manage stress and anxiety via the breath and movement.
STAY NOURISHED’ – HEALTHY EATING IN OLDER AGE – PART 5
HEALTHY BODY, HEALTHY MIND Over the past few weeks I have covered how eating the right foods, keeping physically active and mentally stimulated is vital to protect yourself or loved ones as they age. In this final issue we remind you that In addition to a healthy diet, exercise is also an important part of rebuilding and repairing your muscles and preventing falls.
“There is no doubt, speaking from experience, that yoga improves your physical and mental health.”
KEEP MOVING:
Helen is a keen supporter of Yoga Day. She adds: “Yoga day every year is a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness of the multitude of benefits and different styles of yoga, with a huge choice of classes, for everyone.”
• Getting up and out of your chair • Standing and stretching • Using stairs – safely. • Short walks with friends or family • Lifting low weights • Swimming • Yoga Activities that keep up your heart rate, keep your mind active. Your brain constantly uses up to 20% of your body’s total energy supply and requires constant access to blood sugar (glucose). Link Social activities into enjoyable mealtimes and encourage into your daily routines.

Milngavie 1 Plan meals according to changing food choices and tastes.
7 Avoid rushing or coercing someone to eat – gentle persuasion is better.
2 Keep mealtimes interesting – aromas stimulate appetite, encourage loved ones to get involved whilst cooking or preparing.
8 Avoid calorie-free or low-fat products unless advised by a doctor. 9 Is there any physical or financial support with preparing meals?
3 Dine in comfort, remove distractions & create a nice atmosphere. 4 Think about portion sizes if appetites reduce – finger foods can replace traditional meals if required. 5 Encourage healthy snacks and drinks regularly. 6 Help with shopping lists or shopping trips.
10 Avoid using the term ‘malnutrition’, ‘Keeping well’ is less frightening. 11 Confront the myth – Weight loss is NOT a normal part of the ageing process. 12 Ensure family and friends are up to date with the changes in food choices and preferences.

Earth Hour, one of two recent events in Milngavie, was well attended and organised by peace and justice groups from Cairns and St Joseph's Churches
Many local residents have been inspired to take action with the goal of meeting the challenge of “climate emergency”. A Climate Emergency was declared in Scotland by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon at a recent SNP Conference in Edinburgh.
organised by peace and justice groups from Cairns and St Joseph’s churches.
The call to action was answered in Milngavie with two events, both coordinated by Ros Jarvis. The first, Earth Hour, highlighted the threat to our “Common Home”. Participants worldwide symbolically switched off electric lights and listened to music, poetry and songs to celebrate our planet.
Two of the participants were Fiona and Peter Crosbie. Peter said: “Everyone made a personal commitment to make a change in their lives to reduce climate change effects, whether by walking on short journeys, using alternatives to single-use plastics or changing to a renewables energy supplier.”
The local event took place in a packed Gavin’s Mill and was

groups and held in St Joseph’s Church Hall. It opened with the video of Swedish schoolgirl Greta Thunberg addressing the UN Climate Change conference in Poland on the urgency of combating climate change. The theme “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” was explored by Sylvia Gray, the sustainability and climate change officer for East Dunbartonshire Council. The second speaker was local MSP Ross Greer, who spoke passionately about the broader issues of justice and peace related to the Climate Emergency. Fiona said: “Both events were very inspiring.”

GOLF’S RYDER CUP COMPETITION AND BUCHANAN CASTLE GOLF CLUB BOTH HAVE RICH HISTORIES
Buchanan Castle Golf Club
With a combined age of almost 200 years, both Club and competition continue to grow from strength to strength. But there is perhaps one man, unbeknownst to some, who links both the Ryder Cup’s and Buchanan Castle’s histories together. Eric Brown was a PGA Professional at Buchanan Castle Golf Club. He played in the Ryder Cup Competition in 1953, 1955, 1957 and 1959, winning all of his singles matches. Eric Brown was also the Captain of The Ryder Cup Team in 1969, when Jack Nicklaus famously conceded Tony Jacklin’s putt to halve the match at Royal Birkdale. He also topped the European Order of Merit in 1957.
In 1957 the British team won The Ryder Cup and as part of that winning team, Eric got to take the Cup back to his Club, and that is how The Ryder Cup came to be at Buchanan Castle Golf Club for the first time in 1957, and apparently it sat on the piano in the lounge for the best part of a month. Changed days indeed!! In 2018 the current PGA Professional at Buchanan Castle Golf Club, Keith Baxter, having been Chairman of the Scottish Committee of the PGA was co-opted on to the Board of the PGA. Keith’s position on the Board and the fact that the
European team won the trophy in 2018 meant that there was an opportunity for him to bring the Ryder Cup back to Buchanan Castle Golf Club after 62 years. Our Club celebrated this great event on Saturday, 30th March with a Charity Shotgun Competition for 80 members, 40 Europeans in blue and 40 U.S.A. in red. The European team won, of course. There was plenty of time for photographs with the wonderful trophy, then after a fine meal there was a great
raffle with every player winning a prize, then an auction after which Keith gave us an insight into the association of Eric Brown with Buchanan Castle Golf Club and his involvement in the Ryder Cup. Keith then regaled us with some of his experiences at the Ryder Cup in Paris last year. The sun shone all day and the PGA Benevolent Fund benefitted to the tune of almost £4000.00 What a great way to start the new golf season!!
If you would like to be a member of Buchanan Castle Golf Club, you can join for just £500.00. Contact the Club Professional or Secretary on 01360 660330 or by email secretary@buchanancastlegolfclub.co.uk, www.buchanancastlegolfclub.co.uk
