PICK OF THE MONTH
Be the light
FNP.ae launches its exclusive Ramadan collection, #BeTheLight, illuminating the true essence of the holy month.
When we begin something new, we are always skeptical, scared, or simply concerned about how it will turn out or whether the people around us will support or show their affection. We had all of these things in mind when we started the Architecture Leaders Awards journey three years ago, and there was endless hard work, perseverance, and anxiety. We are proud to see how this event has created its own space and buzz in the fraternity after three glorious editions; it feels awesome. This is the most rewarding gift for an editor.
On March 11, everyone in the ballroom was cheering, applauding, and celebrating their own and others' victories at the Architecture Leaders Awards 2023. This is the kind of platform we've built where we can all celebrate and even dance to the winning beats.
I'd like to thank you all again for your love, support, and the spirit with which you nominate, participate, and make the evening memorable and exciting.
The March issue takes us back to that unforgettable evening when the leaders walked with trophies and owned the stage with glory.
In addition, we have other regular segments that highlight expert opinions, new
projects, and industry news. The Pick of the Month is an excellent Ramadan gift that will bring cheer and joy to your home.

Set within a 4-star Radisson Red Hotel in Dubai Silicon Oasis, DZ Design’s latest Pan-Asian restaurant pays homage to the Buddhist handcarved Mogao caves in Gansu Province. Being home to many tech startups, DSO has a bustling and vibrant dining scene. Mogao, however, offers a temporary escape in a calm dining environment, reminiscent of dining in a cave. The interiors, with earthy, natural tones infused with signature red accents, create a cosy, yet moody ambience, creating a more intimate connection to Asian cuisine. Spanning 350sqm, Mogao has a capacity for 150 guests inside and 100 outside.
“Asian restaurants can be quite gimmicky, so we didn’t want to create a literal interpretation or direct replica of such strong
references, but to create a more immersive experience that transports guests into the world of this rich cuisine” Dina Murali, creative director of DZ Design, explained.
Inspired by traditional Asian cooking utensils – the bamboo steamer and the wok – Mogao’s interiors offer two distinct design features. 3D sketch of a cluster of blooming Anthuriums was created first, then layered with 50 different-sized woks suspended at various heights to create a true interpretation of the flowers.
“We can visualise anything in 3D but being able to guide on-site the team on how to suspend 50 woks in the middle of the restaurant, that physical and handcrafted process is particularly important to all of us,” added Murali. Another key design
feature is the wall behind the bar counter, which overlooks the main dining room. The team incorporated 300 middle-sized bamboo steamers into the wall cladding, arranging them beautifully to form a 3D geometric pattern.
A custom-made sectional booth seating sofa, upholstered in signature red colour, frames the main dining area into two sections, ending on the right side with a custom-made privacy screen, which is a reinterpretation of traditional Asian architectural elements. Made out of a solid mango wood frame in a dark red lacquer finish with natural rattan cane panel fronts offer a gently rounded silhouette. The design team connected cane panels to the frame with dualdirectional hinges that can be adjusted 360°, allowing smooth movement. Private dining is available in the back area of the restaurant, which is slightly elevated. Dark walnut has been used to craft the Mogao’s circular seating banquettes – their latticed backs are inspired by traditional Japanese Tatami rooms. In the same style, a metal mash and acrylic light boxes create a 3D wall on the back wall.

The leadership of Trend Group has worked to assure that the company’s commercial soul is shaped by a deep commitment to environmental awareness and cultural influences.
Mohamad Chehab, general manager of TREND Group Middle East, discusses the brand's latest offerings, notable projects, 3D printing, the company's future, and the emphasis on sustainability.
What are Trend Group's core competencies? What sets you apart from the competition?
TREND Group is not a company, but rather a journey that includes our founder's experience as well as the creativity of our designers, who turn any design intent into reality. With the most important and strong research and development (R&D) capabilitises, our
100% in-house production is the foundation of our success.
Another of our key strengths is our ability to deliver bespoke patterns with high quality and on time, meeting our clients' specific needs. We also take pride in our ability to tailor our services to specific needs, making us stand out in the market.
In addition, it is also worth noting that our well-established network and commitment to honesty and transparency play a big role in our success.
How has the company changed over time in response to changing demands?
As much as we believe that the trends are always changing, our core specialty remains constant, and we continue to preserve and uphold the uniqueness of historical techniques. However, we embrace innovation and are flexible to adapt to the partner’s taste in our R&D activity, by achieving the design intent in a dynamic translation using our products.
You're venturing into the Dubai market. Is there a specific reason why this location was chosen?
Dubai was chosen as a strategic location for TREND Group's expansion due to its unique and unparalleled market potential. As a hub and gateway to the world, Dubai offers endless opportunities and a dynamic business environment that aligns with our vision and values.
How is 3D printing and technology changing the way you envision and deliver your projects?
3D printing helps our technical and R&D departments and has made the process more efficient because we can get a 1:1 scale of the target product in a day.
Furthermore, delivering dynamic surfaces has always been a difficult task, but with recent technological advancements, it has become more affordable, efficient, and faster to produce challenging projects such as curved domes that require material customisation.
What are the most recent offerings that you highly recommend at the moment? Also, what material do you prefer?
At TREND Group, we highly recommend our Terrazzo slabs which are an eco-friendly product, being made of 78% recycled resources, and treated with an antimicrobial agent that inhibits the growth of microbes. This product aligns with our eco-philosophy of protecting our planet and its resources while providing a durable and beautiful surface.
As for my personal preference, I am particularly drawn to the unique offerings from Orsoni materials. Orsoni is a historical Venetian furnace that uses the same techniques since 1888 to produce 24 k gold leaf mosaic, coloured gold, and Venetian smalti in more than 3,500 colours. >>>
What are the exciting projects you are doing?
There are a lot of masterplans released at the moment, which got us to be very busy on several exciting projects across the region. In Saudi Arabia, we are supplying materials to multiple projects in the Red Sea, as well as various hospitality projects in Riyadh and Jeddah.
In the UAE, we are proud to be a part of some truly exceptional projects with reputable clients such as EMAAR, Marsa Al Arab, Anantara RAK, Tilal Al Ghaf, and MAG city among others. Not to forget about Egypt’s master plans, where we were able to secure some interesting projects as well.
What have been the most fulfilling projects you have worked on and why?
One of the most fulfilling projects we have worked on is the W Hotel Palm. We were involved in the project from scratch, starting with inspiration from the project designer, and luckily we were able to perfectly translate the inspiration into reality. Leaving the project with a very positive impression, it holds a special place in our hearts, and every time we visit, it feels great and takes us back to the development days, which were split between Venice and Dubai.
One way we incorporate Arab influences into design work is through the use of traditional Arab art and calligraphy. Arab art is known for its intricate patterns, vibrant colours, and use of geometric shapes, which can be incorporated into various design elements such as logos, graphics, and textiles.
Another way we incorporate Arab heritage into design work is through the use of Arab motifs and symbols. These can include the Arabic script, and the use of patterns such as the arabesque, mashrabiya which are all related to Arab heritage.
Additionally, Arab heritage can be incorporated into design work through the use of traditional Arab architecture, which is characterised by its use of geometric shapes, intricate patterns, and the incorporation of natural elements such as water and plants. This
can inspire the design of buildings, interiors, and even furniture. Finally, it is important to consider the cultural and social context when incorporating Arab influences into design work. This involves understanding the historical and cultural significance of the design elements used and ensuring that they are used in a respectful and appropriate manner.
We would like to explore the Yacht and healthcare segments.
Where do you see the future taking you, especially with regard to both general design and the direction of Trend Group?
One trend that is likely to continue is the increased use of technology in the production of glass mosaics and Original slabs. This includes the use of digital design tools, laser cutting and engraving, and advanced glass printing technologies. These innovations allow for more precise and intricate designs, as well as greater customisation and personalisation options for customers.
Moreover, emphasising environmentally responsible practices throughout our production processes is our focus on sustainability and social responsibility. This will require a more holistic approach to design that considers the entire lifecycle of a product or service, from its initial conception through its eventual disposal.
Additionally, there may be an increased emphasis on the artistic and creative aspects of glass mosaic design. This could involve greater use of unique and unconventional materials, as well as an exploration of new forms and shapes beyond the traditional square and rectangular mosaic tiles. As glass mosaics and terrazzo become more versatile and accessible, they may become an increasingly popular choice for adding color, texture, and visual interest to a wide range of spaces and projects.
Overall, I expect that the future of design will be characterised by greater collaboration between designers, engineers, and other stakeholders, as well as a deeper understanding of the needs and preferences of users and the broader social and environmental context in which products and services are created and consumed.
The rise of artificial intelligence (AI) has been rapid over recent years, with different sectors finding new ways to harness its power. Commercial interior design is one such industry that has embraced this new technology with open arms. Designers are already using it in numerous ways, and with the sector's rapid growth, we can expect to see even more innovative methods emerge soon. If AI isn’t part of your current setup, it should be, especially to enhance the creative process during the early stages.
When it’s incorporated into workflows, AI has the potential to revolutionise the experience for clients and design firms alike. By being able to process lots of data at once, AI can streamline a lot of the time-consuming tasks that often cause delays. Take Space Planner AI, for example. This type of technology was initially developed for the master planning of large-scale urban and suburban areas. However, we expect it or similar software to be increasingly used for generating commercial space plans. It would help architects and interior designers optimise the use of a space and create efficient, functional work environments by analysing factors such as lighting, ventilation, noise levels, and occupancy engagement. Additionally, the software could generate multiple design scenarios to compare and evaluate, enabling designers to make data-driven decisions about their layouts. Digging a little deeper, we’re also seeing an increase in AI
that can generate intricate design visualisations concepts. Morpholio has disrupted the industry, catching the attention of the mainstream media thanks to its genius ability to read mood boards and other user data, then provide visuals to match. Based on a single image, it can identify the dominant colour and then recommend textures, colours and patterns to complement the space. As Morpholio contains machine-learned tech, it will eventually understand the user’s preferences over time.
Midjourney can take concept visuals to the next stage and create highly detailed images and immersive 3D visualisations. It doesn’t even need an image to work with - you can simply type in your request and it will generate options. Users can then tweak the images and renders until they fit a certain brief for a client. There’s no need for expensive 3D-rendering software and hours spent manually honing each image, which can be unnecessary in the initial concept phase.
AI THE EVOLVING ROLE OF
Digging a little deeper, we’re also seeing an increase in AI that can generate intricate design visualisations concepts. Morpholio has disrupted the industry, catching the attention of the mainstream media thanks to its genius ability to read mood boards and other user data, then provide visuals to match.
In short, designers can work smarter, not harder, in the early stages of a project.
There’s a common misconception that AI will replace human activities in many industries. Although the above examples offer some ground-breaking benefits, they’re only as good as the data they rely on. With this said, interior designers should proceed with caution when it comes to AI as it’s not without its faults.
Firstly, AI can - and does - get things wrong. It’s trained on inputted information, sometimes resulting in errors. Further investigation and research should always be conducted to
make sure that due diligence has been applied. After all, it's the interior designer and not the software creator that will be liable for any mistakes. There are constraints in terms of creativity. Algorithms are designed to analyse data and make predictions. While this can be useful for generating initial design options or optimising layouts, AI will not always be able to understand client preferences without proper guidance, nor will it necessarily understand the nuances of context or the cultural and historical significance of spaces. Ultimately, AI is a tool to add value, not a replacement for professional expertise.
It's also worth noting that the costs of AI tools are expected to rise further, pricing out smaller design firms or independents. If you're building an entire business on AI and its price suddenly skyrockets, or the tools you use move to more expensive tiers, you could find yourself in a difficult financial situation.
From an ethical standpoint, we should be aware that AI algorithms may perpetuate existing social and cultural biases in design, and we must work actively to mitigate them.
Getting the balance right AI is here to stay and will become even more ingrained in the industry over time. Rapid concept generation and prototyping with AI can currently significantly increase efficiency. Multiple designs can be created and presented to clients in order for decisions to be made quickly and projects to move forward more quickly. Furthermore, gathering relevant data from a variety of sources, such as previous projects and industry reports, can add value in areas such as sustainability and wellness.
Used correctly, AI has the potential to elevate offerings in the commercial interior design industry. It will never be able to replace the human touch or a designer's keen eye for detail, but it can certainly broaden opportunities, provide a new type of creativity, and provide a more cost-effective service.

The theme of timeless contemporary taste is combined with biophilic elements in the concept. The courtyard opens to the living
area, dining area, and kitchen in the communal spaces, bringing in a concept of everything being centred around the courtyard. The space also has a large skylight feature (ceiling window) that lets in a lot of light, as well as a large bonsai olive tree in the centre, surrounded by white Italian marble. /

SHAPE ARCHITECTURE PRACTICE + RESEARCH
Museum of Energy and Infrastructure by Shape Architecture Practice + Research won the Design & Build Project of the Year.
To facilitate the highest level of immersion for museum visitors, every space, from entry to the individual exhibit, was made to emulate a theatre setting. A minimalist approach accommodated this goal best,
using streamlined materials and a dark interior colour scheme. The palette contains hues of black, white, and copper, drawing from the natural tones found amid the region’s desert roadways. Dark backdrops and strategic lighting highlight displayed contents and cause the surrounding setting to recede.
A juxtaposition of exhibit media, including
printed information boards, physical models, and interactive digital presentations, introduces variation in experience and texture. By using the same palette and aesthetic, these materials maintain a cohesive connection with the museum's character. As a result, the space is holistic, with a seamless blend of architectural and educational features. /

In conversation with TALAL MOAFAQ AL GADDAH, Senior Executive Vice Chairman of MAG, about the concept of Keturah and the state of the Dubai real estate market.
You recently introduced Keturah to the market; could you further explain this concept?
Keturah is an Arabic word that refers to a fragrance traditionally diffused throughout the home to welcome guests. Sounding like ‘couture’ also makes it the perfect term for bespoke new luxury. This new concept combines luxury, well-being, real estate, and hospitality to redefine transformational living in the region, providing residents and visitors with a unique, healthier environment and uplifting inspired living.
What distinguishes Keturah Resort by MAG from the other properties in this segment?
Keturah Resort features 12 mansions based on elements of nature, with three distinct styles that optimise the overall well-being experience: Earth, Water, and Sky. It also hosts eight residential buildings, a Ritz-Carlton hotel with beach access and a private members-only club, a women’s club, a kids club, an immersive and holistic wellness centre, Michelin-star restaurants, and a retail promenade. The luxurious development will be the
first in the MENA region to pursue the WELL Health-Safety certification for its buildings as part of MAG’s registered ‘WELL Community’. Additionally, residents will have access to a luxury wellness hotel, eight sustainable and organicfocused retail spaces, including weekend farmers’ markets, 24/7 secure private parking with valet, and a gated community with unique views of the wildlife sanctuary.
The Keturah Resort by MAG is located on Dubai Creek, facing Dubai’s wildlife sanctuary in Ras Al Khor. It provides convenient access to Dubai Downtown, Dubai International Financial Centre, and Dubai International Airport.
What are the design elements of the mansions at The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Dubai, Creekside?
The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Dubai, Creekside, features 12 mansions themed Earth, Water and Sky. The mansions’ exterior designs and interiors echo cues of the elements, creating distinct experiences for the residents. The spaces create seamless journeys through covered terraces framed by structures that
encourage outdoor living, glassframed courtyards, and adjustable architectural screens that elevate the individual’s interaction with insides and gardens.
The Earth mansions’ minimalist architecture represents a space in constant dialogue with its surroundings, hidden from the street and overlooking the astonishing water view. Floor-toceiling sliding glass also allows for expansive views, seamlessly
merging the patio and living rooms to transform them into one wide reception area when open.

How do you see the luxury real estate segment here in Dubai? Do you see price points changing as demand continues to grow?
Dubai’s luxury real estate market is an exciting and dynamic one that has been on a steady upward trend in recent years, driven by growing demand from highnet-worth individuals and investors. The city’s strong economic performance — compared to global metropolises — attractive tax laws, and world-class infrastructure have made it a popular destination for affluent global travellers and investors.
With plenty of opportunities for buyers and investors, the prices of luxury real estate properties in Dubai’s market will likely continue to rise with the demand, especially as the city’s strong economy and world-class infrastructure make it an attractive destination for home buyers and investors.

Tourism has had a massive comeback in the region – how do you see this translating to bigger growth in the hospitality sector in 2023?
I am hopeful that the return of travel will greatly impact the region in 2023, with an increased focus on specialised experiences and activities.
Natasha now lives in the UAE, where she oversees the group's operations. She is passionate about organically growing the business with like-minded partners in international markets based on her three core tenets.
NATASHA SIDERIS, FOUNDER AND CEO OF TASHAS GROUP, DISCUSSES RESTAURANT DESIGN, THE MOST DIFFICULT ASPECT OF OWNING A BUSINESS, AND FUTURE EXPANSION PLANS.
Aside from your family connections, what has attracted you to the restaurant business?
Aside from growing up alongside my restaurateur father and my Greek heritage, there are numerous factors that drew me to the restaurant industry. Being a restaurateur allows me to combine my passions for food, people, and design. I get to be involved in every aspect of the business, from concept development to menu design and interior design. I also enjoy being on the restaurant floor, serving our customers and collaborating with the team.
My biggest draw to this business is the opportunity to make our guests feel special by serving delicious food in beautiful settings with exceptional service.
How did you come up with the name for your restaurant?
The name is inspired by my hidden haven in the Greek Riviera that I have been going to for many years. I always get the same bungalow which happens to be number 34 - thus the name Bungalo34.
I wanted to bring the same essence to this venue and create an escape for my guests when I created this restaurant. A place where they can spend long afternoons with their family and friends, sharing delicious food and creating memorable moments in a peaceful, secluded setting with breathtaking views.
With the ambience, I wanted to create a proper beach restaurant experience that pays tribute to the iconic era of the Italian, Greek and French Rivieras, when the mood was chic, carefree and relaxed. It is a sensory experience that has ticked all the boxes and captured that sense of nostalgia in a truly authentic way taking advantage of the magnificent, unobstructed sea views over the beach where guests would enjoy beachside dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The menu pays homage to European coastal regions >>>
focusing on true Mediterranean cuisine bringing a touch of Greece, France and Italy, onto each plate. In creating the menu, we wanted to mirror this sense of nostalgia and glamour of the Golden Era of the Rivieras offering uncomplicated and authentic dishes.
What’s been the most fun and challenging thing about running your own restaurant?
The most enjoyable and the most difficult things are nearly identical. I feel like the conductor of an orchestra as a restaurateur. I've always believed that attention to detail creates the overall experience - that every little thing counts. It's both fun and challenging to get every detail just right, from the design of the space to the food we serve and the service we provide.
But when we do, we create a magical experience for our guests, which makes it all worthwhile. I've also found it difficult to delegate responsibility, but I've realised that I can't manage everything myself. That is where my amazing and talented team comes in, and they are critical to us realising our group vision.
What sets the Tashas Group apart, and where are they located?
Hailing from South Africa, the Group is now based in Dubai.
I think what sets us apart is that we have taken a formula of “Beautiful food in stunning environments with engaging service” and have applied it to a number of very different concepts. It is the recipe that informed the creation of tashas and is still relevant to our other concepts of Avli by tashas, Flamingo Room by tashas and now, Bungalo34. At the heart of what makes the Group special is our people and their unwavering dedication to make our guests happy.
What changes have been made to the region's dining culture over time?
When we opened our first location in Dubai, there was an influx of famous chefs and international concepts coming to the region. Over time, there
are many more “home grown” concepts that are opening which is wonderful to see. As well, customers have become much more discerning given the abundance of choices that they have.
What do you hope people take home with them after experiencing in the evening at one of your restaurants?
What I hope our guests take away from an evening at one of our restaurants is that they are extremely satisfied, that every aspect of their experience was flawless, and that they can't wait to return.
Could you elaborate on your joint venture partnerships with Collective Africa and 1701?
1701 and Collective Africa are both concepts that originated in South Africa.
We have been working with 1701 since 2015, when they began supplying their nougat to our stores in South Africa. The product is of exceptional quality, and we feel that there is a great opportunity to expand their distribution internationally so we are
working with them closely to do this. Collective Africa, founded by Nicky Grieg, is an incredible, luxury retail concept that is “inspired by Africa” where the products are curated from around the world. When we opened Flamingo Room in Al Naseem in 2017, it seemed a natural opportunity to include a retail element to the offering and it was the perfect fit. There is now a Collective at Bungalo34 and we will be opening locations inside both of our soon to open Flamingo Rooms in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi.
What has been the key to your success in building a successful restaurant in the face of intense competition?
I believe that our commitment to continuous improvement is the key to our success. We are constantly upgrading our interiors, innovating our menus, and training our employees.
To remain competitive, we must remain relevant in the eyes of our customers, keep them at the centre of everything we do, and continue to meet their high expectations.
I think what sets us apart is that we have taken a formula of “Beautiful food in stunning environments with engaging service” and have applied it to a number of very different concepts.
What can we look forward to, are there new plans for greater expansion?
We have a lot of very exciting things in the pipeline. We will be opening Flamingo Room by tashas in Diriyah Gate in Riyadh in May which will incorporate a new concept called African Lounge, an exclusive new concept that draws inspiration from the beautiful, tented Safari camps set in the wilds of Africa, serving a decadent high tea, elegant afro-fusion bites and delicious non-alcoholic cocktails as well as Collective Africa, an extraordinary retail store that celebrates a glamorous, sensual and stylish continent. In July, we will also be opening these concepts, all under one roof in Abu Dhabi. Our first tashas location will open in London in August this year and Avli by tashas will be opening in Bahrain in 2024.
I am very excited about our new offices, which will be located in Al Serkal this year, as well as a training academy. We will also be opening a new "luxury fast food concept" called Nala there at the same time.
JAWAHER AL MANNAI, FOUNDER OF GHAND JEWELLERY, DISCUSSES HER PARTICIPATION IN THE DOHA JEWELLERY & WATCHES EXHIBITION, HER FAVOURITE PIECES, AND HER PLANS FOR GLOBAL EXPANSION
Jawaher is the founder of the fine luxury brand GHAND Jewellery, which is based in Qatar. Their one-of-a-kind designs are inspired by various cultures and the world around us.
I had always wanted to be a jewellery designer because I was so interested in it. Having my own brand as a jewellery designer allows me to combine my creative and business skills. I've always wanted to be a member of the Qatari Businesswomen Association.
jewellery and becoming famous for our unique and customised jewellery. We took advantage of every opportunity in our lives to visit various jewellery stores and exhibitions held around the world. We admired the royal family's prestigious jewellery, which was immaculate. Aside from that, due to our fascination with jewellery and jewellers, we used to read stories about famous jewellers as a hobby.
When did you first realise you wanted to pursue a career as a jewellery designer?
It all started with my passion for jewellery. My academic journey began with me attending business school and pursuing a master's degree in entrepreneurship development.
My sister and I have been working in the jewellery industry since 2015, but we plan to officially launch our Fine Jewellery Brand (GHAND) in June 2017. When my sister and I were growing up, we used to take our mother's unwanted accessories and create new styles and designs out of them. We were quite inventive and considered how we could turn handicrafts such as elastics, crystals, marbles, ropes, and ribbons into fashionable necklaces and bracelets.
It didn't stop there; we also shared them with our friends and family. We each bought our own jewellery box and gathered our handmade pieces, purchased accessories, and collected vintage pieces. We grew up with this passion and dreamed of one day designing our

I've always wanted to be a member of the Qatari Businesswomen Association. Going over all of my accomplishments over the years made me proud and eager to give more. I've received a lot of social media coverage, interviews, and short videos. In addition, I have attended numerous local and international jewellery exhibitions and private events. I am always concerned with GHAND's corporate social responsibility and ensuring that we give back to the community. GHAND participated in Donation Auctions and other charitable activities.
What is the significance of participating in the Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition (DJWE) 19th Edition for you?
DJWE is regarded as one of the most important events in Doha and around the world. Participating in such an event adds a lot of value and benefits to the image and growth of our brand. DJWE has provided us with numerous opportunities over the last five years of participation.
Being a part of (DJWE) will increase brand awareness because it is the ideal opportunity to get in front of our target audience. We can showcase our jewellery as well as the services we offer to improve our company's image, gain
exposure, and draw attention to GHAND.
It is one of the events for which we make every effort to prepare a new collection/masterpiece for release during that period.
Furthermore, at DJWE, we get to meet our clients in person and meet new people who share our interests. It also provides us >>>
with the opportunity to broaden our network and conduct business-to-business transactions.
As local and Qatari designers, our participation is critical in showcasing local talent to the rest of the world. We met many visitors who came specifically to see the Qatari Pavilion and the talented designers.
What do you want women to feel when wearing your jewellery?
GHAND's crown jewel is quality. The best feeling for any woman is one that is full of confidence and self-esteem. Wearing a meaningful and valuable piece will enhance any woman's overall appearance and elegance.
Do you have a favourite piece of jewellery from the new collection?
All of my pieces are very special to me and contain many meaningful stories about their inspiration, production, and overall journey. But if I had to pick one piece, it would be from the Dana collection. AlDana brainstorming occurred during the most difficult period in our business, which was during COVID-19, with so many limitations, barriers, and challenges at the time, but achieving such a collection result made me PROUD. AlDana has a diverse collection, including one masterpiece that was quickly sold in DJWE22.
Can you briefly walk us through the steps customers experience when creating a custom jewellery design? The process of designing customised jewellery for any client is an interesting journey for us.
We meet with the client in one-toone meetings to understand their needs and to know their personality, which will help us in designing something that will fit their personality and taste. Additionally, we can assist the client based on their budget.
After that, we proceed with sketching several designs to choose from by using high technology to show the piece details and measurements, we also provide a 3D design. We make sure to satisfy the client's needs along with adding GHAND’s touch of identity.
At this stage, also we can provide the approximate cost after getting the best deals from our suppliers to provide the highest quality raw materials.
Once the design and cost have been confirmed by the client, we proceed with the manufacturing with our well-skilled craftsmanship. The production time varies depending on the complications of the design.
We enjoy seeing our clients' faces light up when we turn their dreams into reality and earn their trust in customising them with us. We are pleased that the outcome of the sketched and 3D design is always better than expected or imagined.
You have a strong presence in the Qatari market. Do you intend to expand into other countries and take your jewellery to new locations?
Yes, we intend to expand both within the GCC and internationally. We are expanding our brand to show the world our designs and to reflect our culture and heritage in beautiful and unique jewellery.
