Welcome to
Copenhagen Fashion Week takes over the city in the beginning of August and you can join us for a fashion celebration. Copenhagen Fashion Festival invites you to explore the city’s countless fashion and cultural events in the streets, shops and urban space. And it’s open to all! We present you with an exciting programme and with our map in hand, we guide you through the many events: Fashion Square at Nytorv, shopping extravaganzas and a garden party in Kronprinsensgade. Follow the shopping route The Green Walk and swap your clothes Saturday, 8 August at the clothing swap market Fashion Exchange at City Hall Square. This season we’re especially proud to present The Fashion Talks Stage that gives you a behind the scenes look into the Danish fashion industry. Where you can hear first-hand from top names in the business about their experiences of navigating in the fashion world. Come night and we roll out the big screen for an evening of Fashion Cinema with Magasin and CPH:DOX. Go behind the scenes of this season’s cover photo shoot. Beautiful Marie Falkner from Scoop Models shines on the programme cover, shot by fashion photographer Sascha Oda and styled by Emilie Guldbrandsen. TRESemmé Lead Hair Stylist and Make-up Artist Lasse Pedersen gave Marie a perfectly undone look and worked his make-up magic on her. LASSE PEDERSEN, TRESemmé LEAD HAIR STYLIST How did you create this look, step by step?
Does healthy hair come from the inside or the outside?
I made two looks. First I made a very natural ‘70s look. I took direction from how Marie’s hair falls naturally by not blow-drying it too much and simply looking at how the hair would fall when parting it down the middle. Then I added TRESemmé Perfectly Undone Sea Salt Spray and shaped her hair to create the ‘wings’ in the front. Finally I curled her hair slightly with a curling iron to create soft waves. A natural ‘70s look.
Both, I would say. It has to be a combination. Essentially, it comes from within but as everyone damages his or her hair you have to take care of it from the outside to give it a healthier look. This cannot be done solely from within.
The second look was a tighter look. I scraped Marie’s hair back into what I call a ‘Copenhagen bun’, a messy sort of bun that you often see in the streets of Copenhagen. Then I curled a few tufts of her hair with a curling iron. I used a combination of TRESemmé Oil Elixir and TRESemmé Instant Refresh Cleansing Dry Shampoo to create a ‘glossy dry’ effect that is in between glossy and drylooking.
My favourite product is the TRESemmé Perfectly Undone Sea Salt Spray. I’ve used it excessively since it came out 6 months ago. It’s good for all kinds of ‘70s looks. It’s good for applying before blowdrying and it’s also great for the natural sea salt look where you let it sit in the hair and air dry. It’s great to use even when you roll curlers into your hair. It’s truly an allround product.
Which other products did you use? For both looks, I used a lot of TRESemmé Instant Refresh Cleansing Dry Shampoo. Finally I used the TRESemmé Volume & Lift Hairspray to set the styling and to add volume.

MARIE FALKNER, SCOOP MODELS When and how did you become a model ? Some people encouraged me and I was stopped several times on the street. Then one day I decided to do something about it and try it out. I sent some photos to Bente at Scoop Models, who called me the following morning and after that it really took off.
What do you do other than model? I go to school, of course. I do a lot of running, I work out and then I draw a lot. Besides keeping myself busy with school and friends and those kinds of things I spend time on being creative, painting and drawing.
How do you prepare yourself for a shoot? I have a few regular rutines like taking a shower the night before, sleeping in a little longer and maybe going for a run the night before. But I don’t have any rituals.
What is your best styling tip for a festival look? I love to play around with it and try out things that you wouldn’t normally do. It’s more accepted to put on crazier clothes. But I don’t have a specific tip.

La Glace in Collaboration with Ecouture by Lund For the 15th time patisserie La Glace collaborates with a Danish designer and creates fashion cakes to mark the occasion Copenhagen Fashion Festival. This season La Glace has teamed up with designer Johanne Helger Lund. Her line Ecouture is inspired by the theatre and presents a seductive feminine design universe. To celebrate fashion week Ecouture by Lund has created a La Glace haute couture dress and a “little sister” in the same material and style. Both dresses are exhibited at La Glace in August 2015 and Pastry Chef Lars Juul has created unique cakes inspired by Ecouture’s design. Additionally, a special Johanne Helger Lund fashion macaroon has been created with cherry and pistachio, which can be bought in La Glace throughout the month.

Garden Party in Kronprinsensgade 6 August Thur 15-22 11

On 6 August the shops in Kronprinsensgade and the organisation KBH K – Commerce & Culture will host the biggest garden party in the centre of Copenhagen. And everyone is invited! It is the sixth time that the annual garden party takes place and this year it looks to be even better than previous years. The street will be covered with 500 m2 of real grass and music will be playing while you chill on the grass. In addition to co-hosting the party, the individual shops host events inside and outside their shops during the garden party. An artist will decorate the windows of Stig P and inside the shop you’ll find fashionable contests and cold drinks. Ilse Jacobsen offers great deals all day long where you will be able
to save up to 70% on selected items. Vagabond will have pillows outside the shop where you can relax and have a look at their window decorations showcasing their fall collection — they will also hand out candy give-aways. Café Sommersko invites you to their outdoor bar and lounge where they will have a barbeque, which means that Café Sommersko provides the perfect place for you to enjoy a cold drink and have dinner. What is your background both personally and educationally? We have known each other for more or less our whole lives. We were best friends in kindergarten and have been ever since. We both come from creative families with self-employed parents. Barbara has worked in the fashion industry and had the opportunity to get insight into a lot of different aspects - from being a booker at a modeling agency to the whole magazine business. She also studies Art History. Cathrine has run a jewellery company in her own name and studied textile design among other things. We have no long education in fashion or design but we truly believe that passion and learning by doing can get you extremely far.
What is it like to work as a duo - how do you compliment each other in your work? It is a lot of fun! We have the same aesthetics and know each other’s taste very well. We are both creative and design every style together. As we are still a small company, we wear many hats from warehouse operation, customer service and finance to being the sales as well as the buying team. We have been faced with a lot of things for the first time and have dealt with it primarily by following our intuition. We think that has actually been to our advantage in the end because it allowed the brand to think outside the box.
How did you get the idea to design fur? We sat together on a summer evening in 2013 and talked about how much we both wanted to own a cool and colourful fur. You simply couldn’t find that kind of product on the market at that time, unless you were willing to pay a lot of money. We spent six months researching designs, materials and manufacturing and launched our first mini-collection during Copenhagen Fashion Week in January 2014.
Your brand is showing at Copenhagen Fashion Week for the first time, what are you most excited about? We are excited about everything. We feel extremely privileged to exhibit our collection through a fashion show this season. Most of all, we are excited about including the whole audience into our Saks Potts universe. We can assure you that something new and different will happen at City Hall.

Q&A Stine Goya What is your background both personally and educationally? I grew up in a small town north of Copenhagen and started my career in the world of fashion at a very young age. From when I was eight years old I was really into sewing. So all my spare time was spent sewing clothing for my parents, my family and myself. So I’ve had it in me for quite a while. My relationship with fashion evolved while working as a model. Years past and I decided to apply for Central Saint Martins in London where I graduated from in 2005 with a degree in fashion and print.
What is the Stine Goya aesthetic? A feminine palette of colours and unique, artful prints cut in elegant silhouettes. I want to create collections of clothing and accessories that encourage women to express their individuality.
How would you describe the Copenhagen style? The good thing about Copenhagen is that there is not one style. Each Dane is individual and brave. It can be very inspirational to take a walk down town.
Who do you dream of seeing your designs on? One of my dreams actually came true when we collaborated with the artist Oh Land on our AW15 campaign. Nanna fits the brand perfectly.
Being based in Copenhagen, do you feel inspired by the city when designing? Yes, Copenhagen is an inspiration – the diversity and the different neighbourhoods all have something unique. And we often do collaborations with some of the many fabulous internationally acclaimed artists that we are so lucky to have here.
Do you have a favourite Copenhagen neighbourhood? Nørrebro. It’s a very local area and I like that. There I have my favourite spots that I always go to and I think it’s really lovely that you always meet the same people and that there is such diversity in nationalities. It’s very inspiring and there’s an urban vibe there. It’s a very energetic environment.

Q&A Cecilie Lassen What is the best thing about Copenhagen Fashion Week? For me the whole town is buzzing with life, international guests, who light up our streets with their personal style and last but certainly not least - the shows. The tour de force of creativity and various point of views executed all over town.
How would you describe your style in three words? Quirky, boyish, loner....
Which synergies do you see between fashion and ballet/dance? Stories told and feelings evoked with a nonverbal language - subtle communicators, though a powerful voice. And both spring from pure aesthetics.
Do you have a style icon? I have two. Lamia Land, Parisian stylist and Amalie Adrian, royal ballet dancer. Both women rock their own thing. Neither are slaves to trends or sport an ¨easy digestable¨ look.
What is your all time favourite book? What is the latest book you read? A new favourite is ‘Nothing Holds Back the Night’ by Delphine Vigan and latest thing I read (was actually read to me on holiday) ‘Freaconomics’ by Stephen Dubner and Steven Levitt.
Describe your perfect day in Copenhagen? Sun is out (hahaha), hanging with friends, drinking wine by the canal, a trip to Glyptoteket, a walk in Christiana or the Citadel... And going for a late dinner with my man at a local place.

Q&A Nadja Bender In addition to being one of Scandinavia’s most famous models you have also become a wellknown It Girl. How did you get to where you are today? How did I get this far? I think it’s a combination of hard work, the right people around you and staying grounded. For me it’s important to remember who I was before. Otherwise I think you can loose yourself in this world.
What is the most exciting thing about your job and what is the most difficult? That must be the traveling and the fact that you get to work with some amazing people. The worst part is also the traveling; you’re never more than a couple of days each place.
When you’re not busy modelling, what are some of your favourite things to do? I just started playing the violin. Otherwise, I see my friends, go on trips and just try to relax and enjoy the calmness.
If you weren’t a model, what would you want to do? I would be studying to become a film producer. I want to make nature documentaries for BBC one day.
Where do you find inspiration? Mostly in the people I work with. I find it inspiring how much work, dedication and love people in this business put into their work. It’s absolutely amazing.
Do you have a favourite Copenhagen neighbourhood? I really like Christianshavn. I lived there for a couple of years. It’s so cosy and you got water everywhere.

Fashion Exchange
Fashion Exchange is a big clothing swap market that seeks to promote sustainable consumption and empower you as a consumer to take action for a better environment while you renew your wardrobe for free. Fashion Exchange takes place at the City Hall Square in Copenhagen on Saturday, 8 August 2015. The idea behind this green project is to show an alternative to traditional shopping and the way we treat our clothes. It was held for the first time in Copenhagen at the 2013 Copenhagen Fashion Festival where the event gathered around 1,500 people who swapped some seven tons of clothing!

To join Fashion Exchange you simply need to: Bring at least one piece of clothing that must be clean and in good condition After having handed in your old clothes, you have free access to enter the swap market where you can pick any piece of clothing you want The clothes are sorted into categorized areas at Fashion Exchange so that it is easy to find what you are looking for, be it a new pair of jeans or a pretty new dress
The clothes that we trash usually have plenty of life left. Keep this in mind before you throw away your ‘old’ clothes. Someone, somewhere might be able to use them and just maybe you could use some of their ‘old’ clothes. We have collaborated with Arkitekturministeriet to create a lounge area open to all! Fashion Design Academy Graduate Exhibition Come and get a multi-faceted experience in an inspiring and visionary environment. The newly graduated designers from the Fashion Design Academy invite you to their graduate exhibition at Dome of Visions. With this exhibition, they want to create a sensuous experience by putting the clothes in a visual and poetic context. Each of them open up their individual universe and invite the observer into a sensuous narrative with textures, music and sound in a palette of colours. The architectural language of the Dome of Visions supports their desire to slow down and create a breathing space. This platform encourages openness rather than the occasional exclusionary touch of the fashion world. At the exhibition you can watch both graduate collections and design portfolios.

They are among the first and biggest supermodels ever, which they credit their Eastern European backgrounds.

French Documentary from 2015. The movie depicts the history of ‘black dandyism’ and the reinvention of ‘masculine chic’ paying tribute to the stigma of being a man that pays special attention to his appearance and style.
21.00 HUBERT DE GIVENCHY - A LIFE IN HAUTE COUTURE French documentary from 2014. Even as a child Hubert de Givenchy was very interested in both his own and other people’s attire. Despite his humility and discretion, Hubert de Givenchy left his mark on French fashion and culture with his design and he has created an international brand that is popular and recognized throughout the world.

They are not yet established names in the fashion industry but their creativity, imagination and talent make them the new hope of haute couture.
