BOYS WILL BE BOYS A couple had two little boys, aged 8 and 10, who were excessively mischievous. They were always getting into trouble and their parents knew that, if any mischief occurred in their town, their sons were probably involved. They boys' mother heard that a clergyman in town had been successful in disciplining children, so she asked if he would speak with her boys. The clergyman agreed, but asked to see them individually. So the mother sent her 8-year-old first, in the morning, with the older boy to see the clergyman in the afternoon. The clergyman, a huge man with a booming voice, sat the younger boy down and asked him sternly, "Where is God?". They boy's mouth dropped open, but he made no response, sitting there with his mouth hanging open, wide-eyed. So the clergyman repeated the question in an even sterner tone, "Where is God!!?" Again the boy made no attempt to answer. So the clergyman raised his voice even more and shook his finger in the boy's face and bellowed, "WHERE IS GOD!?" The boy screamed and bolted from the room, ran directly home and hid into his wardrobe, slamming the door behind him. When his older brother found him in the wardrobe, he asked, "What happened?" SMART DOG

A wealthy man decided to go on a safari in Africa. He took his faithful pet dog along for company. One day the dog starts chasing butterflies and before long he discovers that he is lost. So, wandering about he notices a leopard heading rapidly in his direction with the obvious intention of having lunch. The dog thinks, "Boy, I'm in deep doo doo now." (He was an Irish setter) .... Then he noticed some bones on the ground close by, and immediately settles down to chew on the bones with his back to the approaching cat. Just as the leopard is about to leap, the dog exclaims loudly, "Man, that was one delicious leopard. I wonder if there are any more around here?" Hearing this the leopard halts his attack in mid stride, as a look of terror comes over him, and slinks away into the trees. Whew", says the leopard. "That was close. That dog nearly had me." Meanwhile, a monkey who had been watching the whole scene from a nearby tree, figures he can put this knowledge to good use and trade it for protection from the leopard. So, off he goes. But the dog saw him heading after the leopard with great speed, and figured that something must be up. The monkey soon catches up with the leopard, spills the beans and strikes a deal for himself with the leopard. The cat is furious at being made a fool of and says, "Here monkey, hop on my back and see what's going to happen to that conniving canine. Now the dog sees the leopard coming with the monkey on his back, and thinks," What am I going to do now?" But instead of running, the dog sits down with his back to his attackers pretending he hasn't seen them yet. And just when they get close enough to hear, the dog says, "Where's that monkey. I just can never trust him. I sent him off half an hour ago to bring me another leopard, and he's still not back!!"

It’s that time of year again; now the weather is beginning to warm up to warn pet owners of the dangers of the “candy floss” white nests that have appeared rapidly in the fir trees above our heads!! This is the nest of the PROCESSIONARY CATERPILLAR and they arrive in their thousands!! – They are dangerous to humans too but because dogs & cats are inquisitive & like to nosey about on the ground sniffing out what’s new – that is when pets get themselves into trouble. The caterpillars get their name because they follow each other in a “procession” actually looking quite sweet, innocent and cute, they are dark brown in colour . The caterpillars hatch from their nests and follow each other across a pathway or road making a definite line to their onward destination. It is at this point that we canines and felines wander up to the “little monsters” & have a good sniff to investigate the findings – & get into trouble. The caterpillars are covered in thousands of tiny hairs which get hooked on the skin, mouth or nose – they imbed into pets and then literally “eat away on flesh” . Are you obese of overweight?

ody mass index (BMI) is a measure of how much of your body is made up of fat. It relates your weight to your height. Your practice nurse can weigh and measure you and tell you your BMI. If your BMI is over 25, but below 30, you are 'overweight'. If it is 30 or above, you are 'obese'.

aist size is another measure. Your increased health risk is greater when the extra fat is mainly around your waist ('apple shaped'), rather than mainly on your hips and thighs ('pear shaped'). As a rule, a waist measurement of 102 cm or above for men (92 cm for Asian men) and 88 cm or above for women (78 cm for Asian women) is a significant health risk.

hat causes obesity and overweight, and who does it affect? About 2 in 5 adults in the UK are overweight and a further 1 in 5 are obese. The main causes of obesity are: overeating and/or eating the wrong kinds of food; little physical activity; some people inherit a tendency to be obese; a combination of these reasons.

hat are the benefits of losing weight? Many diseases are more common in obese and overweight people, and you are less likely to develop them if you lose some weight. They include: diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, heart problems, some types of cancer, arthritis of the back and legs, gallstones, menstrual problems, incontinence of urine, breathing problems, some complications of pregnancy, and depression. What is more, in most cases, much of the health benefits come with losing the first 5-10% of your weight. This is often about 5-10 kg. (10 kg is about one and a half stone.) If you are obese, on average, if you reduce your weight by 10%: • You are much less likely to develop the conditions listed above,such as diabetes. • If you have high blood pressure, osteoarthritis, or diabetes, these conditions are likely to improve. If you are taking medication for these problems, you may need a reduced dose. • Your chance of dying at any given age is reduced by about 20%. This is mainly because you are less likely to die from heart disease, stroke, diabetes, or obesity related cancers. Also, it is difficult to measure how much 'quality of life' is improved if you lose some weight. Many people feel better in themselves and have more energy.

ow can I lose weight? The best chance of losing weight, and keeping the weight off, is to be committed to a change in lifestyle. This includes eating a healthy diet and doing some regular physical activity. Medicines to help with weight loss are an option in some cases. But, they are not 'wonder-drugs', and you still need to eat less.

Every time we walk past Jasmine restaurant in Nueva Andalucia we always remark how good it smells!!! So we thought we really ought to try the food there. We were greeted by Amir who showed us to our table and gave us our menus. When I try a new Indian restaurant I often choose a dish that I am familiar with to give me a comparison with others. So I started with a chicken tikka and followed it with a Lamb Madras and Pilau rice, my wife went for the onion bhargee starter and had the Tandori Platter main course, which was a combination of Lamb and Chicken Tikka, Sheesh Kebab and Tandori chicken. We also had a peshwari nan bread and washed it down with a couple of beers. The food was excellent and the meat just melted in your mouth. Amir and his wife, Lorna were lovely, they spent time chatting with us and made us feel really welcome, they told us that they have owned a couple of Indian restaurants on the Costa del Sol and have a loyal following â&#x20AC;&#x201C; we could see why! The atmosphere and surroundings were lovely too. When we got the bill, we were pleasantly surprised as we had expected it to be higher. We will be sure to go back again very soon. Yes show time is well and truly upon us, and there’s no better feeling than the one you get when you’re told how great your horse looks . ide into the show-ring with a horse with a gleaming coat and you instantly stand out from your competitors. Good grooming is an excellent way to achieve a shiny coat, but it’s important to remember a true healthy gleam is also obtained from the inside out.

A horse fed on a high fibre diet may benefit from a multivitamin supplement with his feed. Cod liver oil or linseed oil are also excellent feed additives for a shiny coat. Good grooming - a daily grooming session should take at least 20 – 30 mins, and is often more beneficial after exercise. Start by using a rubber currycomb in circular movements to remove any mud and loose hair, and lift the grease. Follow this with a soft body brush in the direction of the hair, using a currycomb to remove any dirt or hair from the brush every third stroke. " Hot clothing" will put a finishing shine to your horse’s coat. Fill a clean bucket with hot water, and mix with a sqirt of washing up liquid. Use a clean piece of an old towel, wring out until just damp (not wet) and rub in a circular motion over your horse, paying extra attention to greasy areas such as the quarters.

• A fierce gust of wind blew 45-year-old Vittorio Luise's car into a river near Naples, Italy in 1983. Economic & Currency News... Over the past few years borrowers have enjoyed historically low interest rates, and savers have endured very low returns on their deposits. A rise in interest rates seems to be on the cards in 2011, in both the UK and Europe. In March, the European Central Bank sent a strong signal that it is prepared to increase interest rates to preserve price stability over the medium term. Jean-Claude Trichet remarked that a rate rise was possible as soon as April. In the UK, the minutes of this monthâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s (March) monetary policy committee also hinted at a near-term rate increase. UK inflation at 4%, is currently 2% above target, and is high compared to the euro zones 2.4% inflation rate. UK Interest Rates

The UK rates are likely to increase to around 1% before the end of 2011, in 0.25% increments. If you have a UK interest only, variable rate mortgage, you could see mortgage payments double by the end of the year.

European Interest Rates

Jean-Claude Trichet is keen to avoid strong inflation pressures feeding through into wage demands. A rise to 1.25% looks likely over the next month or so, with additional increases over the balance of the year. Year end forecast is 1.75%

Someone asked us which is the longest running production car, and it set us thinking

The longest running production car is the Jeep, now made by General Motors, however it wasnâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;t always made by GM, originally produced by Bantom, then Ford and most famously by Willys all for the American Army. It is still the same basic shape. The VW Beetle (although not originally named at all) is next having been in continuous production since 1934 with only one major model change. Others that have stood the test of time are the Mini, again with only one real major change in shape which was produced originally in 1951 by BMC and called the Austin 7 or the Morris Mini Minor

The Porsche 911 has been around since 1963 and evolves rather than changes. The Ford Mustang has seen lots of model

changes since 1964, but the current model looks like a modernised version of the original. Toyotaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Corrolla has seen lots of changes since it was introduced in 1966.

The Skyline GTR is no newcomer, it was first produced in 1967 produced by Prince, who later became Datsun before changing their name to Nissan.

Golf Tips And Tricks Distance & Control The faster a club head travels as it makes contact with the ball and the further the ball will travel after impact with the club, that is the secret to more distance but if it was that easy we would all be out driving Tiger woods. As a golf club shaft gets longer the club head will travel faster with the golfer moving at the same pace in the centre of the swing that is the principal of consistent play , you change the club you are using not your swing to get more distance. The problem being when you get to that longest club in your bag and you want more distance how do you get it. Club manufacturers have for years been changing the design of the driver making the head bigger , the shaft longer, lighter and more flexible together with positional weight changes in the balance of the clubs all designed to give extra distance and control , making the driver the top selling club to the golf industry. The question I ask is do you want 10 meters more from your driver or 10 strokes less on your card, I am sure you did not have to think for long about that one. 1. Head for the academy, warm up and then take your driver from the bag , find out what your average distance with the driver is using the same swing mechanics as you do for all other clubs at full swing . 2. Sit down with the score card to your golf club and pick the holes where you know you will select to play the driver from tee, then take your average driver distance from the total length of each hole working out the approach distances you will have to play. 3. Head back for the academy and practice with the clubs you will use from the distances you have calculated working on becoming accurate and consistent in your approach play from those distances . Extra distance from your driver will get you closer to the target but will only lower your score if you can repeat it consistently hitting the target you aim at from tee. Knowing the distance you hit your driver will

help you in club selection on tee and if you play happily with it can only work towards improving your use of the same swing mechanics for your driver as you would for your wedge, which will improve your consistency with the club. Working on the clubs you need to reach the greens from your driver distance will improve your confidence and your averages from those distances working towards lowing your score. Remember drive for show and putt for dough is an old saying that says it all but remember the more you are on the green the more chances you will get to putt.
