A Woman’s World It’s all about us girls!

Call Me Bond, Jane Bond... The MI6 had an opening for an assassin. After all the background checks, interviews, and testing were done, there were three finalists. two men and a woman. For the final test, the MI6 agents took one of the men to a large metal door and handed him a gun. “We must know that you will follow our instructions, no matter what the circumstances. Inside this room, you will find your wife sitting in a chair. Kill Her!!!” The man said, “You can’t be serious. I could never shoot my wife.” The agent said, “Then you’re not the right man for this job. Take your wife and go home.” The second man was given the same instructions. He took the gun and went into the room. All was quiet for about five minutes. Then the man came out with tears in his eyes. “I tried, but I can’t kill my wife.” The agent said, “You don’t have what it takes. Take your wife and go home.” Finally, it was the woman’s turn. She was given the same instructions, to kill her husband. She took the gun and went into the room. Shots were heard, one shot after another. They heard screaming, crashing, banging on the walls. After a few minutes, all was quiet. The door opened slowly and there stood the woman. She wiped the sweat from her brow. “This gun is loaded with blanks”, she said. “I had to beat him to death with the chair.”

HOT GOSS!

ROBBIE WILLIAMS WILL JOIN SHARON OSBOURNE TO DECIDE WHO GOES TO THE X FACTOR... Former-Take That star, Robbie Williams, will join Sharon Osbourne at her LA pad to help her sort out which contestants will go onto the X Factor final. Robbie has opted to help out Sharon with her over-25s category, despite working alongside his former band mate (and Shazza's TV rival) Gary Barlow back in 2011.There was talk of jittery rocker, Ozzy Osbourne, assisting Sharon with her X Factor shortlisting - which would have been AMAZING - but sadly, he declined. Still, fingers crossed we'll see him make a profanity-filled cameo. Most judges opt to use rented houses for this stage of the show, but reportedly, Sharon preferred to use her own swanky gaff. WHO'S FALLEN FOR MADE IN CHELSEA'S JAMIE LAING'S CHARMS THIS TIME? Jamie Laing, has been seen locking lips with yet another lady friend. The McVities heir was spotted outside Mayfair hotspot Mahiki doing snogs with his friend, Tintin Macdonald. It seems Jamie and Tintin go back a long way, as they were both at Leeds University at the same time. Get ready to see a lot more of the MIC cast over the next few weeks because our fave poshos will be returning to our television screens on October 14th for a brand new season of full on drama’s. KATIE PRICE ADDRESSES BABY JETT PATERNITY SPECULATION... Katie Price isn’t one to keep quiet, and she was never going to stay silent when Internet trolls speculated about her son Jett’s paternity. After little Jett’s birth some nasty gossips suggested that Katie’s new husband Kieran Hayler isn’t really the father – now Katie has hit back. She posted a picture of a babygro with the slogan “50% Kieran 50% Katie 100% Jett” embroidered on it. Got it trolls!

A SMALL ISLAND INDEED... The Russian President Vladimir Putin called David Cameron with an emergency: “Our largest condom factory has exploded! the Russian President cried. “My people’s favorite form of birth control! This is a true disaster! “Vladimir, the British people would be happy to do anything within their power to help you replied the Prime Minister. “I do need your help, said Vladimir. “Could you possibly send 1,000,000 condoms as soon as possible to tide us over? “Certainly my dear chap! I’ll get right on it! said Cameron. “Oh, and one more small favour, please? said Vladimir. “Yes? “Could the condoms be red in colour and at least 10 long and 4 in diameter? said Vladimir. “That will be no problem, replied the Prime Minister and, with that, Cameron hung up and called the CEO of Durex. “I need a favour, you’ve got to make 1,000,000 condoms right away and send them to Russia. “Consider it done, said the CEO. “Great! said Cameron. Now listen, they have to be red in color, 10" long and 4 in diameter. “Easily done. Anything else? “Yes, said the Prime Minister, “print, ‘Made In England, Size. Medium’ on each one.

TRUE HORROR FILMS

The Conjuring is among one of the latest in a long line of horror films 'based on a true story'. But some are truer than others... 1. The Conjuring (2013): With its thrifty $20m budget, James Wan's paranormal thriller was an instant hit – a feat no doubt boosted by its bold poster claim: "based on the true case files of the Warrens." The Warrens in question being paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine, who founded the New England Society for Psychic Research in 1952. Of the 10,000-plus hauntings they chronicled – many disputed - The Conjuring was their most notorious: the 1971 case when Roger and Carolyn Perron moved into a colonial farmhouse in Rhode Island with their five daughters, only to find it “possessed”. As the Warrens painstakingly detailed, this involved hauntings, the permanent stench of rotting flesh and angry spirits who arrived, admirably punctually, at 5.15am every morning to levitate beds. Luckily, no permanent harm was done: as well as tolerating these unworldly domestic intrusions for over nine years (!), the real-life Perrons also appear throughout the film’s marketing to certify its authenticity. 2. Child's Play (1988): Responsible for much tabloid opprobrium in the years since – not to mention many parents quietly disposing of their offspring’s Cabbage Patch Dolls – is Tom Holland’s 1988 idiotic slasher, based on doll that comes to life. And yet Chucky, ludicrously, pays homage to a real-life demonic mannequin – specifically ‘Robert’, a 2ft-long sailor doll infamous throughout the state of Florida. Originally gifted to local author Eugene Otto in 1906, legend states ‘Robert’ was then cursed with a voodoo hoodoo by an irate Bahamian servant. The result? Over a century where various owners have reportedly seen Robert talking, giggling insanely, running around, smashing furniture and, on one occasion, attacking a girl. The doll is now housed behind glass at Fort East Martello Museum in Key West; visitors are implored to ask Robert permission before taking photos.

TRUE HORROR FILMS CON’ T

3. The Exorcist (1973): Spider-like crawling and airborne pea soup are what most people remember from William Friedkin’s 1973 horror classic. But not necessarily the name “Roland Doe” – the pseudonym for a real-life exorcism subject who, in 1949, inspired the film and William Blatty’s novel. According to diaries kept by priest Fr. Raymond Bishop, “Roland” was born to a German Lutheran Christian family in Maryland, and started exhibiting signs of possession aged 13, after trying contact his dead aunt with an ouija board. Nine priests and thirtynine other witnesses described moving furniture, scratching sounds in the walls, the words “evil” and “hell” appearing on the boy’s skin, and a large boom when the exorcism ritual was finally completed. Although in a rare example of Hollywood restraint, not all these occurrences made it into the final film; even Friedkin himself dismissed the priest’s reports of a rotating head as “silly”. But filmed it anyway, you’ll note. 4. The Amityville Horror (1979): Cheerfully marketed as a documentary-style true story (despite fabrication claims), Stuart Rosenberg’s 1979 paranormal classic chronicled the experiences of the Lutzes – a US family of five who moved to Amityville, Long Island in December 1975. Only problem being their new, suspiciously cheap home at 112 Ocean Avenue had, 13 months previously, been the scene of the vicious DeFeo murders, where six members of the same family were slaughtered in their sleep. Cue a series of terrifying paranormal events, including – said father George Lutz - unseen forces levitating them at night, red glowing eyes, hoofprints, hidden rooms and green slime oozing from the walls. Bad luck for the family, who fled five weeks later. But good luck for author Jay Anson, who sold 10 million copies of his subsequent novel, and for director Rosenberg: the movie grossed a huge $86m upon release.

HALLOWEEN FUNNIES! p

On the night of Halloween Louise and Peter had been invited to a fancy dress party, they were having massive trouble picking suitable outfits. After a while Louise got really annoyed and angry and stormed out of the room. Fifteen minutes later she came back completely naked except for a lemon between her legs. Peter looked at her for a moment and then stormed out of the room himself. Twenty minutes passed and Peter came back himself with a potato around his manhood. Louise gave him a weird look but didn’ t say anything, then Peter piped up, "If you're going as a sour-puss, I'm going as a dictator."

p

A vampire bat came flapping in from the night covered in fresh blood and parked himself on the roof of the cave to get some sleep. Pretty soon all the other bats smelled the blood and began hassling him about where he got it. He told them to go away and let him get some sleep but they persisted until finally he gave in. “ OK, follow me” he said and flew out of the cave with hundreds of bats behind him. Down through the valley they went, across a river and into a forest full of trees. Finally he slowed down and all the other bats excitedly milled around him. “ Now, do you see that tree over there?” he asked. “ Yes, Yes, Yes!” the bats all screamed in a frenzy. “ Good” said the bat, “ Because I sure as hell didn’ t!”

Paraprosdokians

No it’s not some awful diesease... Paraprosdokians are figures of speech in which the latter part of a sentence or phrase is surprising or unexpected; frequently humorous. Winston Churchill loved them.

• Where there's a will, I want to be in it. • The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it's still on my list. • If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong. • We never really grow up; we only learn how to act in public. • War does not determine who is right - only who is left. • Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit.. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad. • To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism. To steal from many is research. • I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you. • In filling out an application, where it says, 'In case of emergency, Notify:' I put 'DOCTOR'. • Women will never be equal to men until they can walk down the street with a bald head and a beer gut, and still think they are sexy. • You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice. • I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure... • To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target. • Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

HOW TO BE A MAN…...

A Man’s World

HOW TO WIN AT SPORTS: No man likes to lose. Follow this simple tip practiced by top sportsmen across the world and you’re sure to come out on top: Score more points than the other team. It’s literally that simple. HOW TO WATCH SPORTS: It is absolutely imperative to know better than the ref, shout louder than the other fans and support your team harder the worse they do. They need you.

HOW TO MAKE SMALL TALK: When meeting a man you’ve never met before, only talk about sport. If he doesn’t like sport then Rocky films, if he doesn’t like Rocky films don’t talk to him. HOW TO OPEN THINGS WOMEN CAN’T: Twist it. HARDER. Use a cloth. Run it under water. Bang it. Never give in. EVER! HOW TO LAUGH: Guffaw. Straight from the belly. There will be strictly no tittering, sniggering, snorting or giggling of any sort. Chuckling is permitted at Christmas and other family occasions. HOW TO NAVIGATE: Men love maps so much we invented them. Use a map. When you end up where you started, start again. Did Rambo use a Satnav? Exactly. NEVER ASK FOR DIRECTIONS. HOW TO GIVE DIRECTIONS: When asked for directions it is a man’s duty to give clear, short directions, even when you don’t know the way. If you aren’t a quick thinker just fall back on this standard response – “Yeah I know it, just keep going, you’re almost there”. Job done.

HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN YOU ARE ALONE...

Since many people are alone when they suffer a heart attack, without help, when suffering a heart attack your heart is beating improperly and you’ll begin to feel faint, you may only have about 10 seconds before you lose consciousness. However, you can help yourself... By coughing repeatedly and very vigorously. A deep breath should be taken before each cough, and the cough must be deep and prolonged, this will produce sputum deep inside the chest. A breath and a cough must be repeated about every two seconds without stopping until help arrives, or you can feel your heart is beating normally again.

Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. This will give you more time to phone an ambulance and get yourself to hospital.

Tell as many other people as possible about this. It could save their lives!!

Medical Tips

The Benefits Of Home Based Nursing/Care:

There are many benefits of having a loved one cared for in their own home instead of in a nursing or residential facility. Home nursing care can provide a wealth of services to address the unique and individual needs of each client, from supporting the primary caregiver such as a spouse, child or friend to providing a comprehensive full care package. Many people seek out home care for their loved ones or themselves as it offers them convenience, flexibility, comfort and the safety of a familiar environment as well as a cost effective alternative. Recent research suggests that patients generally recover quicker following an operation for example and are more motivated to maintain independence when cared for at home, for whatever reason. The advantage of this type of care is the flexibility that is on offer as well as the personalised one to one care that is focused on the patient and their specific needs.

For many older adults the need to remain independent is a fundamental part of their being and many may fear that illness will affect their ability to remain at home without assistance. With the right assistance they may be able to maintain that independence for longer. Home care should be about enhancing a patient’s life so that they feel empowered and are given the opportunity to participate fully. All home care client’s should benefit from an individualised and regularly reviewed nursing care plan so that their specific and continually changing needs are met. The flexibility on offer from a care provider should allow for the client(s) to choose the level of care that is needed which can be from a little as 2 hours per week to a comprehensive 24 hours a day.

•Specialised & general nursing care •Personal care (help with showering / bathing) •Post Operative Rehabilitation •Stroke Rehabilitation •Respite Care •District Nursing Services (wound dressings, injections & medication management etc) •General Care and Support •Escort to Hospital Appointments •Assistance with shopping etc

Doctor, Doctor!

An extremely shy and very modest man was in the hospital for a series of tests, the last of which had left his digestive system upset. Upon making several false-alarm trips to the bathroom, he decided that the latest was another false alarm, so he stayed put in his bed. He suddenly filled his bed with diarrhea and was embarrassed beyond his ability to remain rational. Loosing his presence of mind, he jumped up, gathered up the bed sheets, and threw them out the hospital window. A drunk was walking by the hospital when the sheets landed on him. He started yelling, cursing, and swinging his arms wildly, which left the soiled sheets in a tangled pile at his feet. As the drunk stood there staring down at the sheets, a security guard who had watched the whole incident walked up and asked, "What was that all about?" Still staring down at his feet, the drunk replied: "I think I just beat the crap out of a ghost" An old man goes to the doctor for his yearly physical, his wife tagging along. When the doctor enters the examination room, he tells the old man, “I need a urine sample, a stool sample and a sperm sample.” The old man, being hard of hearing, looks at his wife and yells: “WHAT?” “What did he say? What’s he want? His wife yells back, “He needs your underwear.”

TRUE HORROR FILMS CON’ T 5. The Entity (1982): Sidney J. Furie’s 1982 story of Carla Moran, a single mother plagued by a supernatural entity that abuses her, is mostly memorable for making “spectral rape” a viable form of entertainment. And yet such astral assaulting was based on the “true” case of Doris Bither – a single mother of three who, in 1974, claimed she had been repeatedly held down and attacked by up to three “Asian” ghosts at her home in Culver City, California. Wary of Bither’s raging alcoholism, paranormal researchers Kerry Gaynor and Barry Taff nevertheless recorded severe bruising, a humanoid apparition in the house and even captured photos of floating lights. Regardless, it proved too rich for Tinsel Town’s blood: the film’s release was delayed by a year when certain plot strands – specifically where Carla was forced to have incestuous thoughts about her own son – were deemed too controversial and grudgingly excised. And Lastly A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984): From the wholesome, family-friendly pen of Wes Craven, this 1984 hit slasher would ignite the careers of Robert Englund and a young Johnny Depp. And yet the concept, amazingly, was based on a true story that Craven had read in the LA Times during the 1970s. The subject was Khmer refugees, who’d fled to America after the US bombing of Cambodia. Several had began to suffer from disturbing nightmares, and refused to sleep. A few days later, when they finally succumbed to exhaustion, they died – a phenomenon unimaginatively named by medics as “Asian Death Syndrome”. To which, Craven realised, the natural next step would be to add razor-sharp gloves, stripey jumpers and a man apparently dipped in a mozzarella fondue.

The Most Haunted Places In

TheWorld

There are certain places on earth that really inspire fear and bring out the inner coward in everyone. Some say that these places were witnesses to the most gruesome of murders, suicides, and other grisly events. Most people don’t truly know the real reason why ghosts or spirits inhabit these places. So what are the most haunted places in the world? 1. Berry Pomeroy Castle, Totness: Although it is associated with plenty of hair-raising stories, this centuries-old castle is most famous for being home to two well-renowned female spirits: the Blue Lady and the White Lady. The Blue Lady haunts throughout the entire castle. With her mysterious spellbinding presence, she lures individuals into sections of the ruin. Needless to say, if you see her, don’t follow! The White Lady, on the other hand, is supposedly Margaret Pomeroy’s spirit. She was held captive by her envious sister and was left to die of starvation in the dungeons of the castle, where her presence lingers to this day. 2. Sedlec Ossuary, Czech Republic: Located underneath Sedlec’s Cemetery Church of All Saints, this tiny Roman Catholic chapel serves as the final dwelling place of an estimated 40,000 to 70,000 individuals. Many of their skeletons and bones have been creatively arranged in order to give the chapel a more pleasing appearance. Despite this brave attempt at keeping the creepiness away, Sedlec Ossuary has earned the title of being the most haunted place in the world, and as such, has lured over 200,000 tourists to the area every year. Clearly, tourists just love being spooked and look upon the experience as a unique holiday treat.

The Church

Organist...

In the small village of Nempnett Thrubwell, Somerset, England there was a tiny church, in the church they had a very big-busted organist, by the name of Bunty Brown. Bunty's breasts were so huge that they inadvertently bounced and jiggled the entire time she played the organ. Unfortunately, she distracted most of the congregation considerably, both male and female. The very proper church ladies of the WI were appalled. They said something had to be done about this or they would have to get another organist. So, one of the ladies approached Bunty, very discreetly, and told her to mash up some green persimmons (sharon fruit) and rub them on the nipples of her breasts and maybe they would shrink in size, but warned her to not eat any of the green persimmons, 'because they are so sour they will make your mouth pucker up and you won't be able to talk properly for a week! Bunty the perky organist agreed to try rubbing the persimmons on her nipples. The following Sunday morning Tarquin the Vicar got up in the pulpit and said... 'Dew to thircumsthanthis bewond my contwol, we will not haff a thermon tewday.

3: Most haunted house in Malaga - Cortijo Jurado: This large 19th century mansion stands alongside the A357 highway in campanillos (Malaga). It is voted the most haunted house in the province and there's good reason why. Also known locally as 'Casa Encantada', this imposing building was built by the Heredia family and has 365 windows, one for each day of the year. In 1925, the mansion passed to new owners, the Jurado family. Legend says that the Heredia family, together with other wealthy families in Malaga, kidnapped young girls between the ages of 18-21, took them to the house and subjected them to Satanic rituals including rape and murder. Their bodies are said to be burried within the building. The house has been examined many times over the years by paranormal experts and there are plenty of people who have witnessed strange things. The property which covers some 45,206 square metres of land and is worth an estimated 1.4 million euros, was put up for auction in May 2009 on the orders of a local judge. The owners, Mirador property group were in financial trouble and a creditor had insisted the property was sold. Since then, not a brick has been laid, although there have been many attempts. Mysterious voices have been heard in the property and there have been several appearances of ghostly figures. Recently, a curious young boy was rescued from a well at the property. He had been ghost hunting. There is so much interest in the property that a special security company has been employed to keep people out. As news broke of sightings in Malaga, people flocked to the property in their hundreds. Other haunts for the serious ghost hunter are: New Orleans, Louisiana, USA: Bhangarh Fort, India: Auschwitz-Birkenau Concentration Camp, Oswiecim, Poland: Monte Cristo, New South Wales, Australia & Salem, Massachusetts, USA.

A good witch

One afternoon, there was this good witch who was flying along, when all of a sudden, she heard this soft crying from down below. When she landed, she saw this yellow toad. Touched by his sadness, the witch asked why he was crying. "Sniff. None of the other toads will let me join in all their toad games. Boo hoo." "Don't cry, little one.", replied the witch, and with a wave of her magic wand, the toad turned green. All happy now, the toad was checking himself over when he noticed that his male toad parts were still yellow. He asked an embarrassed witch about this, and she told him that there were some things that she just couldn't do, but if he saw the wizard, he'd fix things up for him. So happily, the little green toad hippity-hopped along his merry way. Feeling quick happy about herself, the witch once more took to the skies, and once again, she heard some crying, but this time of a thunderous sort. So down to the ground she flew only to discover a pink elephant. The witch asked him why he was crying. "Sniff. None of the other elephants will let me join in all their elephant games. Boo hoo." Now if you have ever seen an elephant cry, you know it to be a pathetic looking sight, but a PINK elephant crying is just downright heart-breaking, and that is just how the witch felt. So once again, she waved her magic wand, and *POOF*, the elephant was all grey. All happy now, the elephant was checking himself all over when he noticed that his male elephant parts still pink. He asked an embarrassed witch about this, and she told him that there were some things that she just couldn't do, but if saw the wizard, he would fix things up for him. At this point, the elephant just started wailing. "I don't know where the wizard is", he sobbed. "Oh that's easy. Just follow the yellow pricked toad", said the good witch.

The Worlds Biggest motor show in Frankfurt took place last month, we take a look at some of the highlights….. The stunning Jaguar SUV concept sets out the marque's future, and marks the beginning of an ambitious model expansion programme too. Having barely changed since it’s introduction in 1948, the Land Rover Defender is about to have its first ever major change, Due for release in 2015 there will also be an ultra cool sport version

LF-NX concept from Lexus is powered by the hybrid system from the ES300h saloon. The front wheels are driven by the combination of a 156bhp 2.5-litre petrol engine and a 44bhp electric motor. A four-wheel-drive version of a future production version is also under consideration. The Quattro name has been revived by Audi for this concept, which is intended to preview a new production model which would sit above the R8, at the very top of the manufacturer's range. Powered by a V8 engine producing 552bhp, and assisted by a 148bhp electric motor. BMW’s alternative range has just started production. After a long time in development the fully electric i3 and the hybrid i8 really are the future of motoring.

BlackBerry & apple mallow trayBake Dainty sponge bites packed with fruit and topped with crunchy almonds and a light meringue whirl

Ingredients:

•140g unsalted butter, softened, plus a little for greasing •140g golden caster sugar •1 egg and 2 yolks, beaten together •½ tsp vanilla extract •100g self-raising flour •100g ground almonds •1 tsp baking powder•1 tsp freshly grated nutmeg (or ½ ground) •1 large Bramley apple, about 200g, peeled and sliced (to give about 140g) •125g blackberries For the mallow and to finish •25g blackberries •100g white caster sugar, plus 1 tsp for the ripple •2 egg whites •1 tsp lemon juice •1-2 tbsp toasted flaked almond •a little icing sugar, to dust (optional) 1) First make the blackberry sauce to ripple through the mallow. Put the berries and 1 tsp sugar in a small bowl and cover with cling film. Microwave for 30 secs on High. Alternatively, add 1 tsp water then soften in a pan over a low heat. Mash well until saucy, then leave to cool. 2) Heat oven to 160C/140C fan/gas 3. Grease and line the base and sides of a 23cm square traybake tin, leaving some overhang. Using electric beaters or a hand whisk, beat the butter and sugar in a large bowl until very pale and creamy, then beat in the egg and yolks, followed by the vanilla. Mix the flour, almonds, baking powder, nutmeg and a pinch of salt, then fold into the fluffy mix to make a very thick batter. 3) Fold in the apple, then spoon into the tin and smooth over the top. Scatter with the blackberries, poke them in just a little, then bake for 45 mins until golden and a skewer inserted into the middle comes out clean. After removing, leave the oven on. 4) For the mallow topping, you’ll need a large piping bag with a 1cm nozzle, or a food bag with a corner snipped off. Whisk the egg whites, lemon juice and a pinch of salt to stiff peaks. Add the sugar 1 tbsp at a time, whisking well after each spoonful, to make a shiny, stiff meringue. Ripple with the cooled blackberry mix, then spoon into the bag. Pipe 16 evenly spaced, walnut-sized meringues on top of the cake (you’ll have some left over), scatter with the toasted almonds, then bake for 10-12 mins until the meringues are just set. Cool in the tin for 30 mins, then remove to a rack to cool completely. Add a dusting of icing sugar, if you like, then cut into squares.

Strangebuttrue...

HALLOWEEN STRANGE BUT TRUE...

pIt is very rare for a full moon to occur at the same time as Halloween. It has only

occurred in 1925, 1944, 1955, and 1974. The next time it is said to occur is in 2020. pThe word "Halloween" appeared in the Dictionary in the 1700s. pDunking for apples arose from a practice of divining the future. It was believed that if you could hold an apple between your teeth you would have a fulfilling romance with whomever you choose. pAccording to ancient superstitions, if you stare into a mirror at midnight on Halloween, you'll see your future spouse. pThe name "pumpkin" comes from the Greek word "pepon," meaning melon. pUsing pumpkins as lanterns at Halloween is based on an ancient Celtic custom brought to America by Irish immigrants. pThe largest pumpkin grown was recorded on October 2, 2004 weighing 1,446 pounds. pThe carving of jack-o'-lanterns originated from the tradition of carving the faces of lost souls into hollowed out pumpkins and turnips. A candle was placed inside the carvings making the faces glow. FINANCIAL NEWS

The journey for the pound continues with UK unemployment falling to 7.7%, down .1% from the previous month and remember The Bank of England said it will not think about raising interest rates until unemployment falls below 7%, unless of course inflation becomes a threat to the recovery. Clearly one of the issues surrounding the recovery is that in the UK real wages are continuing to fall as inflation still bites into the money people have in their pockets. Strong data in the form of The Purchasing Managers Index for services increased in August to 60.5 which represented the strongest growth in the sector since December 2006. Manufacturing also did quite well seeing a high for nearly two and a half years of 57.2. Looking ahead there is some optimism that quarter 3 figures could be even better. Just a cautionary note is that the economy is still 3% below where it was in 2008 and there are around a further 840000 people without work. August also saw mortgage lending move ahead and currently stands around 30% higher than the same period last year, a big concern however is that a shortfall in house building even with construction increasing around 2.2% month on month could create a bubble and nobody wants to go back to the boom and bust days. There has been suggestions of capping increases which in theory sounds good however the day to day control is where the real issue is. The Eurozone was also able to provide improved data and it seems investor confidence has leapt particularly with the zone

having left behind the recession.......The ECB once again left interest rates on hold at .5% and Mr Draghi confirmed to support the economic recovery the ECB will keep rates at present or lower levels for "an extended period of time".Cyprus who received agreement to 10billion euro aid has suggested it will not require further bailouts whilst the Greek premier has been in Brussels talking about the package made available to Greece. Across the Eurozone zone unemployment remained steady at 12.1% and was in line with forecasts however the figure does mask some unhealthy numbers in Greece and Spain, the lowest number of unemployed was recorded in Austria, Germany and Luxembourg. Youth unemployment continues to move in the wrong direction and the concern is the lost generation particularly in Spain where the number stands at 56.1% and Greece which stands around 62.9% horrendous statistics no matter which way you look at it. As they clinked glasses the farmer asked, “What are you celebrating?” “My husband and I have been trying to have a child, and today my gynecologist told me that I'm pregnant!” “What a coincidence,” says the man. “I'm a chicken farmer, and for years all my hens were infertile, but today they're finally laying fertilized eggs.” “That's great!” says the woman, “How did your chickens become fertile?” “I used a different cock,” he replied.
