A Woman’s World

it just really is.... a cOOl trick...

My wife thinks her ability to tie a cherry stem into a knot with her tongue is cool but as a man with a cherrystem-sized man appendage I'm horrified.

my new passwOrd... A husband and wife are trying to set up a new password for their computer. The husband puts, "Mypenis," and the wife falls on the ground laughing because on the screen it says, "Error. Not long enough."

my husbands been watching you tube... Feeling a little bored with the same old maneuvers in the bedroom my husband decided to get a few tips - Whilst having sex he suddenly stopped & didn't move. I said 'What are you doing?" He said: I've seen this online it's called buffering!

ONE DAY MY HOUSEWORK-CHALLENGED HUSBAND DECIDED TO WASH HIS SWEATSHIRT. SECONDS AFTER HE STEPPED INTO THE LAUNDRY ROOM, HE SHOUTED TO ME, “WHAT SETTING DO I USE ON THE WASHING MACHINE?” IT DEPENDS,” I REPLIED. “WHAT DOES IT SAY ON YOUR SHIRT?” HE YELLED BACK, “UNIVERSITY OF WEST SUSSEX.” AND THEY SAY BLONDES ARE DUMB!

p i s s z i o b G how S TV GOSSIP…

SEASON TWO OF BRIDGERTON… Is getting another scandalous season on Netflix. If you haven’t seen Season One then WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? After that big finale reveal, we wonder where the show can go next. PLEASE BE WARNED SPOLIER ALERTS AHEAD… Bridgerton made an explosive debut on Netflix, with a colorful setting in 1813 Regency London, steamy romances, glitzy wardrobes, and provocative scandals, how could viewers resist? Season Two will focus on Anthony Bridgerton. Simone Ashley, who plays Olivia in Netflix's Sex Education, will star opposite Bailey as Kate Sharma, Anthony's love interest. The finale episode revealed the big secret behind the mysterious gossip columnist Lady Whistledown: that her infamous scandal sheets are actually penned by the young Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan). Now that her identity has been revealed, how could she play into another season? Fingers crossed we get to find out really soon!

ROYAL, TV & WEDDING GOSSIP...

MEGHAN MARKLE'S FINAL REVENGE: As the final nail goes into

the coffin with the Royal family Meghan and Harry speak to Oprah. This programme will be aired in the USA on the 7th of March, and the world awaits the fallout. We find it really annoying that Harry and Meghan have managed to spend the past year calling for privacy, while simultaneously making front-page news every other day. They delivered a surprise pregnancy announcement followed by the jaw-dropping news that they will be sitting down with Oprah Winfrey for a “wide-ranging” and “intimate” chat on prime time TV. BUT REALLY THEY DON’T WANT ANY PUBLICITY! The interview will now be the pair’s swan song as members of the royal family. And you’d best believe that Meghan will be having the final word. 'FRASIER' COMING BACK TO TV: Is the latest '90s hit to get a revival... Kelsey Grammer to reprise his role for the new show. It will focus on the next chapter in the continuing journey of Dr. Frasier Crane. The series, to be produced by CBS Studios, will be aired on the new streaming service Paramount+, no date has been given as of yet. KYLIE MINOGUE’S AUSSIE WEDDING... Is the popstar marrying in secret? It seems Kylie has returned to Melbourne to marry rumoured fiancé Paul Solomons in front of her family. Dannii and Kylie were also spotted carrying a large dress bag during a recent shopping trip, Kylie and Paul have been dating for three years, and she’s said to be desperate to make it official and wants her mum, dad, sister, brother Bryan and three nephews by her side for her big day.

Ask and you shall receive… at least when it comes to celebrity riders (a list of demands stars write into their performance contracts). These are some of the most outrageous requirements!

Adele... For Adele, it was very important that she receive one pack of Marlboro Lights and a lighter, as was included in her rider for the “Adele 21” tour. She also requested she be given two bottles of "the best quality Californian red wine and one bottle of the best quality Californian Sauvignon Blanc white wine (chilled). NO CHARDONNAY!"

Justin Bieber...

When he was first starting his career in 2010, Bieber’s riders were simple: lots of snack food. Now, eight years later, Bieber’s riders include 10 luxury Sedans, a massage table, and a private jet on standby for any of his travel desires.

BEYONCE...

Don't bring Coca-Cola products near Queen Bey, as she’s in a contract with Pepsi and drinking anything else would break it. Also requested in her hospitality rider: heavily seasoned, baked chicken legs, breasts, and wings (don’t forget to the hot sauce). And as if performing didn’t make her sweat, Beyoncé likes the temperature in her dressing room to be set to 78 degrees at all times.

Mariah Carey...

For a tour, Carey requested a bottle of Cristal champagne, complete with bendy straws for sipping. Oh, and she was also in need of a person whose sole purpose was to throw away her gum.

KANYE WEST... In one of his previous tours, Kanye bolded the most important things to

him on his rider. Chief among the requested: Carmex chapstick, Sunkist salted pistachios, bottles of Propel Water, and booze—a bottle of Hennessy, Skyy or Absolut Vodka, Patron Silver Tequila, and four 6-packs of Heineken. During his “Saint Pablo” tour, Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian, posted a photo of alcohol-infused slushie machines in his dressing room, and we can only assume that means they were put there by demand.

Rihanna...

During her “Last Girl on Earth” world tour in 2010, Rihanna’s rider included one large fur rug (preferably animal-printed) for her to walk on barefoot. Apparently she was also very big into curtains, specifically blue or black with “icy-blue chiffon” and white curtains to cover any lockers or bricks.

Justin Timberlake...

The “Sexy Back” singer is very health conscious and, according to his rider, he requires someone to disinfect the doorknobs of any backstage venue or hotel he's in every two hours. On top of that, it’s necessary for him to have the elevator to himself and an entire floor of a hotel.

Jay-Z... The rapper demanded that he have seven

dressing rooms (one for every day of the week maybe?). And Jay-Z was also in need of some “good quality peanut butter” and “good quality jelly” to, you know, make some really bomb PB&J sandwiches in his down time.

LADY GAGA... Gaga has made some pretty unusual requests, one being a mannequin with

"puffy pink public hair” (we think she meant pubic hair, but hey, who knows!) for her “Monster Ball” tour. She also was in need of some extra long straws and lots of tea—as any true fan knows, she’s obsessed with it.

LINDSEY LOHAN...

Before she was to appear on a Russian talk show, Lohan sent a list of demands, one of which included meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin. She also requested she be given a one-year visa, private jet, and $650,000 for her appearance on the show.

MADONNA... Her biggest request, and we mean biggest as in number, was a 200-person

entourage. Oh, and she’s adamant about her backstage room resembling her own personal home, with flower-scented fabric furniture

AND LAST BUT NO MEANS LEAST WILL FERRELL...

Like many of the roles he takes on, Ferrell has some pretty funny requests—and we’re not sure if they were to be taken seriously. Items included an electric three wheel mobility scooter, a flight of stairs on wheels, a fake tree on wheels, and a rainbow on wheels. We’re seeing the pattern here.

CelebratingFertilization...

A chicken farmer went to a local bar and sat next to a woman and ordered a glass of champagne. The woman perks up and says, “How about that? I just ordered a glass of champagne, too!” “What a coincidence,” the farmer says, “This is a special day for me, I'm celebrating.”

“This is a special day for me too, I'm also celebrating!” says the woman. “What a coincidence,” says the man. As they clinked glasses the farmer asked, “What are you celebrating?” “My husband and I have been trying to have a child, and today my gynaecologist told me that I'm pregnant!” “What a coincidence,” says the man. “I'm a chicken farmer, and for years all my hens were infertile, but today they're finally laying fertilized eggs.” “That's great!” says the woman, “How did your chickens become fertile?” “I used a different cock,” he replied. The woman smiled and said... “What a coincidence...”

A Man’s World

It’s A FuNny old world...

THE CIRCUS HAS COME TO TOWN... And the main act is a magician and his crocodile...As he enters the stage, the crowd is silent of anticipation for the famous trick he is about to perform. The great magician squeezes the eyes of the crocodile, which opens its mouth, he drops his pants and parades his mighty member in front of the applauding crowd. He stands before the animals mouth, lays his gentleman sausage into it - and the croc snaps its mouth shut. The crowd gasps in shock - surely this time he cannot remain unharmed. But the mighty magician squeezes the eyes of the crocodile again, and again the mouth opens, to reveal the intact genitals of the beasts master. The crowd erupts in cheering and ovation. After everybody has calmed down, the master asks his audience: "Now you have seen the trick, does anyone dare to do it themselves, here on this stage." No one speaks up, until a woman runs to the front and shouts "Let me do it". The magician is confused, "Surely, Madam, you see the anatomic impossibility of you performing my signature trick?" "Well of course not", she answers, "I'll just have to ask you not to squeeze my eyes so hard." No English dictionary has been able to explain the difference between the two words COMPLETE and FINISHED.

Some people say there’s no difference but there is. When you marry the right woman, you are COMPLETE! When you marry the wrong woman, you are FINISHED! And if you marry a wife who likes shopping you are COMPLETELY FINISHED!

FERGUS GOES TO THE DENTIST... And asks how much an extraction is... £85 for an extraction sir," was the dentists reply.

"Och huv ye nay got unythin cheaper," replies the Scotsman getting agitated. "But that's the normal charge for an extraction sir," replied the dentist.

"What aboot if ye didnae use uny anaesthetic?" asked Fergus hopefully. "Well it's highly unusual sir, but if that's what you want, I suppose I can do it for £65."

"What aboot if ye used one of ye dentist trainees and still wi' oot anaesthetic?" asked the Scotsman. "Well it's possible, but they are only training and I can't guarantee their level of professionalism. It'll be a lot more painful, but I suppose in that case we can bring the price down to say £40."

"Och that's still a bit much, how ab oot if ye make it a training session and have yon student do the extraction and the other students watchin' and learnin'?"

The dentist replied, “Well OK it'll be good for the students, I suppose. I'll charge you only £5 in that case, but it will a traumatic experience.”

"Now yer talkin’ laddie! It’s a deal,” said the Scotsman. "Can ye book the wee wife for next Wednesday?"

TOP 10 Health HEALTH & WELLNESS & Well Being TRENDS FOR 2021

March 2021 Costa Link Magazine.qxp_Editorial Layout 01/03/21 11:47 am Page 46

CONTINUED FROM LAST MONT... HERE’S WHAT WE THINK WILL BE BIG IN 2021 WHEN IT COMES TO WELLNESS. THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC HAS REALLY CHANGED THE WAY WE EAT AND SHOP FOR FOOD, AS WELL AS RENEWED OUR INTEREST IN STAYING HEALTHY. EXPECT TO SEE MORE OF THESE TRENDS THIS YEAR...

6) CHICORY-ROOT: Think chicory root and most people think New Orleans-style coffee. But while the brew served at places like Café du Monde is a blend of coffee with roasted chicory root, a lot of people now are drinking it as a caffeine-free replacement for coffee. Chicory root is also being added to food products to deliver fiber, in the form of inulin, which is a prebiotic (and the gut health trend comes full circle). You won’t find a lot of fiber in chicory-root coffee, because it’s strained out, but it is delicious straight up or as a coffee blend.

early spring and in 2020 they doubled compared to 2019. Seed companies reported selling 8 to 10 times more seeds than they typically do. Hopefully everyone can get their seeds in 2021 and whether they plant in pots or harvest a whole raised bed, they’ll be able to grow more local food right in their own garden. Gardening is healthy on its own it can help lower stress, build muscle and boost your mood and it also helps you eat more vegetables.

9) SLEEP: Sleep should really been seen as part of an overall wellness plan. Maybe that’s because we spent more time at home close to our beds (or anxiously lying awake in our beds) this year. According to Pinterest’s 2021 Trends Report, “Zzz time is the new me time.” Are reporting spikes in searches for sleep yoga, sleep affirmations, silk sleepwear and sleep blends for diffusers. 7) DRINKING LESS: One side effect of staying We know sleep is important for your healthit can impact home during the pandemic may have been drinking your immune system, your cravings, your mood, your skin more alcohol to cope. But as the times is moving on, it’s and mcuh more... possible people have started to notice the effects of too much drinking. Alcohol is one of the worst things you can 10) ADAPTOGENS: Adaptogens are huge right drink for your immune system, and too much booze isn’t now. People are looking for all-natural ways to de-stress good for our bodies. Luckily, if you abstain you have and focus better. NEED MORE ENERGY?

Simple ways to feel more energised....We've got the solutions... When the clocks change at the end of the month, keep energy high and stay buoyant if you work with the rhythm of the days and your internal body clock.

WHAT’S MY INTERNAL BODY CLOCK?

We all have an internal clock (our circadian rhythm) that rules our sleep-wake cycle and influences energy highs and lows through the day. Its set by our genetics and pretty much decides whether we are larks or owls. Larks wake early raring to go, do their best work before lunch, then maybe start to flag as the day wears on. Owls, on the other hand, are reluctant risers whose energy kicks in later and seems to improve as the hours tick by. While we can’t change how we’re programmed, we can make some smart energy tweaks throughout the day.

HOW TO WAKE UP EARLIER Open up your curtains. Natural blue light, the kind that sets your body clock, kicks off at sunrise so throw open the curtains and have breakfast, exercise or meditate near the window. Better still, get outside and start moving ideally in the hour after sun-up; if not then before noon. MAKE YOUR BED Don’t lie in it! Consider this an opportunity to experience your first success of the day, when you make your bed, you create order from chaos. This ripples into the day and its expectations.

DO SOME EXERCISE Exercise gets the blood flowing and makes you feel more physically and mentally alert. Also getting into the light will kick-start your ‘wake drive’, which helps wake your body naturally. Try walking for 20-40 minutes at a good pace. You should be able to talk but not in full sentences!

MAKE A SMOOTHIE A great smoothie will help prop up your energy – especially post workout. Add peanut butter for extra benefits. Peanut butter packs a wallop of protein, monounsaturated fats and antioxidants, as well as nutrients like magnesium, folate, and vitamin E.

GET YOUR VITAMIN D It’s a must take for energy and immunity. Our natural uptake comes from sun exposure, but right now, with the Covid restrictions working from home etc, we’re all getting less. There’s still a lot of discussion about how much to take, but

48

HERE’S HOW...

your doctor will probably currently be recommending 800iu a day as standard, rising to 2,000iu for those who are really short of it. Most nutritionists are going for at least 1,000iu as a daily baseline, rising to 2,000iu in winter. Your pharmacist or health professional can help you decide.

TAKE A NAP Feeling energy low and drowsy in the afternoon? It could be that working from home and using commute time to catch up on stuff is making the work day even longer, so don’t feel guilty for pencilling in snooze time. A performance test study revealed subjects who took a 30-minute nap halted declining performance, while a 60-minute nap reversed it (although napping in the day is not recommended for anyone who has insomnia).

HARNESS THE POWER OF PLANTS Having plants in your peripheral vision can help productivity. Plants induce feelings of comfort and this has a restorative impact, reducing systolic blood pressure and amplifying our concentration.

DON'T REACH FOR THE COFFEE Forget coffee as an afternoon lift: a caffeine-free herb can do more. Why not try liquorice or nettle, with 1tsp of nettle seed tincture added. It gives a mental boost via neurotransmitters, as well as physical support for that great energy controller, the thyroid gland. Don’t use more than 3 tsp in one day, though.

Prostate CanCer

Every man has one, it's important for their sex life, yet few men know anything about their prostate or what can go wrong with it. According to a survey of men aged 45 and over by the Prostate Cancer Charity (PCC), 70% of them knew nothing about their prostate or the symptoms of prostate cancer. The prostate, found only in men, is located below the bladder. It produces some of the fluid in semen and is crucial to a man’s sex life. The prostate fluid nourishes and protects sperm during intercourse and forms the bulk of ejaculate volume. The prostate often enlarges as men get older but for two-thirds of men aged 50 or over this doesn’t cause any problems. In some cases, an enlarged prostate can press on the tube carrying urine from the bladder and cause urinary problems. Other prostate conditions include inflammation of the gland, which is sometimes caused by an infection, also known as prostatitis. This can make urinating painful. Sometimes, a single cell in the prostate starts to multiply out of control and cancer can develop. Most common cancer - Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK, with more than 30,000 men diagnosed annually. Around 10,000 men die from it every year, making it the second most common cause of cancer deaths in men, after lung cancer. Most men with early prostate cancer have no symptoms at all. Some of the symptoms of prostate cancer below can also be caused by other prostate problems. High-risk group - African or African-Caribbean Symptoms of all prostate problems include: men are three times more likely to develop prostate cancer than white men. • Needing to urinate often, especially at night Researchers are looking at what may be the • Difficulty starting to urinate • Straining to urinate or taking a long time to finish cause of this increased risk but genes probably play an important role. • Pain when urinating or during sex Many men over 70 have prostate cancer, Other less common symptoms include: even though most of them will never have it • Pain in the lower back diagnosed or have any symptoms. • Blood in the urine In the majority (80%) of cases, this is a slowgrowing cancer and it may stay undiagnosed because it never causes any symptoms or problems. In the other 20% of cases, the prostate cancer cells can grow quickly and move outside the prostate, spreading the cancer to other parts of the body, such as the bones. AGE INCREASES RISK: The risk of getting prostate cancer gets higher as you get older. Most men diagnosed with the condition are over 50. However, survival rates of newly diagnosed prostate cancer patients have improved from 30% in the 1970s to 80% today. If you have a father or brother diagnosed with prostate cancer, your risk of getting the disease is 2.5 times higher compared to the average man. The risk increases to 4.3 if the relative was diagnosed before the age of 60. A man is three times more likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer if he comes from an African or African-Caribbean background. Researchers believe a diet high in saturated animal fats and red meat may be responsible for the high incidence of prostate cancer in Western countries. It is thought that reducing your intake of animal fat and eating more fruit and vegetables may lower the risk of prostate A simple blood test (the PSA test) in conjunction with urinalysis and consultation with your healthcare professional could save your life.

50

Clinica Medicare in La Cala de Mijas are delighted to offer a PSA appointment (lasts approx 20 mins) and this test is priced at just €35.00. If you would like further details or wish to make an appointment then either call the clinic on 952-835-776 or you can WhatsApp them via 692-628-096.

ALL REVVED UP LAND ROVER DEFENDERS

March 2021 Costa Link Magazine.qxp_Editorial Layout 01/03/21 11:51 am Page 58

Well they say that the British are slightly eccentric and here are five quite mad Land Rover Defenders to prove the point… With the arrival of the new Defender last month we take a step back in time and look at their loopy predecessors THE LAND ROVER DEFENDER RALLY CAR The idea of slinging a Land Rover Defender pick-up around some muddy woodland is perhaps not so outlandish. If you’re a farmer late for market day, perhaps. But when said Defender has been modified by Bowler to go racing with a 440bhp Jaguar F-Type V6 in its nose, the results are rather more alarming. And a bit crashy. THE QT WILDCAT Off road parts suppliers bought out the Wildcat brand from Bowler and set about honing the Dakar-spec Defender road-going racecar, and what manifested was perhaps the most evil spawn of Defender yet…

KAHN FLYING HUNTSMAN 6X6 PICK-UP …though Kahn Design might argue against that. The Flying Huntsman 6x6 pick-up was an attempt to offer a British riposte to the Mercedes-AMG G63 6x6. We’ve not seen orders flying in from the British Army thus far, but it’s likely to turn heads in Knightsbridge, which is half the battle won. THE KAHN 6X6 CABRIO So why stop there? Why not add a convertible roof element, as per the Mercedes-Maybach G-Class Laundalet?

58

THE AMPHIBIOUS DEFENDER Not all mad’n’bad Defenders have to be wantonly aggressive and macho, mind. The ‘Floating Ninety’ is a pontoon-festooned classic that’s as happy wading into a Scottish loch as it is traversing the shoreline trails. Just don’t expect to keep your feet dry – apparently it leaks a bit…

Capricorn, March 2021 carries many positive trends in which success will develop and gain a foothold. This is a very unique period for important, and memorable events. The horoscope predicts short-term acquaintances resulting in interesting and fleeting romances. Unexpected wins or lucky matches will become spontaneous in March. A new business, an innovative idea or hobby gets you thinking this month. The main thing is to understand the subject of financial injections, not to act at random and not be in the clouds. Don’t make promises you can’t keep this month, lest you leave broken hearts behind. Only truly strong relationships will move into a new phase, the rest will become pleasant memories of March. In terms of health, the March is controversial, on the one hand recommending weekly workouts, on the other, warning against excessive exertion. Aquarius, March 2021 promises to be quite prosperous in all walks of life for you this month. The first weeks of March are quite favourable for a showdown. If there are any questions for your soul mate, it’s time to ask them. At this time, the phase of the waning moon in the sign of Aquarius will be active; this is the time to get rid of all that is superfluous. If you are single then you should be careful, because an all-consuming passion can burst into your life, which can turn all plans upside down. If you pull everything out of the bag this month and show your maximum efforts in March, you will be able to feel the result of Mercury ‘s activity it will increase material and financial well-being by the end of the month. The new moon, on March 13th, will ensure successful starts and highs. On this date, you can plan important things: Wedding days, starting a business, changing your image or real estate issues that have been a sticking point of late. Pisces, the start of the month is a little dull and has a ‘Groundhog Day” air about it at the beginning of the second ten-day period, from March 13th, there will be a new moon in Pisces. This is the time when a surge of strength is observed and you feel 100% energized and ready to go! Up until that point, this month can be a time of full recovery and healing. The turn of the second and third weeks will be marked by the vernal equinox, which will happen on March 20th. The length of daylight hours will become equal to the length of the night. In this case, the Sun will leave the constellation Pisces the next day and enter the sign of Aries. Thus, a new zodiacal cycle will begin. This means that in March, as in other months of 2021, Pisces will be able to make the right decisions and find a way out of difficult situations. Aries, your March 2021 horoscope will be like a fascinating film in which the hero, overcoming apathy, solitude, the intrigues of enemies, emerges victorious, surrounded by loving friends also with opening up career opportunities. The position of the Sun in combination with Saturn will predetermine just such a beginning of history. The first ten days of March will be a bit rubbish and temporarily deprive you of peace of mind and may cause fatigue. Toward the middle of the month though a change happens. In your personal life expect, harmonious relationships, and romance - if you are single then you easily make new acquaintances. Financial condition will improve this month. At work, you move up the career ladder and get a salary raise. If you are feeling a little drained from all this effort definitely find time for proper sleep and rest.

Taurus, March 2021 will be successful and calm. Your financial situation is likely to be favorable, and the likelihood of receiving assistance from unexpected sources is also high. This month will be the right time to sort out your affairs and put them in order. It is recommended to complete everything that has been postponed for so long "for later". This moment has come. Luck will be on your side, but you will have to try not to miss such a great chance. The main focus should be on your work projects and developing relationships with friends. You should carefully monitor your bank accounts, refrain from rash purchases, despite the good financial outlook for March. If there is tension in your relationship, do not be discouraged — very quickly everything will work out by itself.

Gemini, this month should bring you luck both professionally and personally. If you are single you have every chance to meet a new love, and family people – to strengthen relationships to new highs. If you are looking for additional income or a prestigious job will find them by the end of the month. Many of you will achieve promotion and recognition for your talents and merit. The main advice should be this month is to maintain a balance between work and relationships, not forgetting about your health either. March 2021 is a great time to focus on the state of your health, review nutritional habits, and begin to work toward your best beach body – summer is not so far away!

How many conspiracy theorists does it take to change a lightbulb? THE REAL QUESTION IS: Who broke the lightbulb and why are they keeping us in the dark?

68

For as long as I can remember, I've had a thing about pigeons. I think they're fascinating creatures, robust, hardy birds that thrive the world over yet can live on just breadcrumbs and worms. It was 'pigeon this' and 'pigeon that' as a child, my mom used to joke that I'd BE a pigeon if I could. It was a bit of a struggle maintaining relationships as I grew older, after all, what girlfriend would want to sit in their boyfriend's mom's house watching endless episodes of Pigeon Street on video? At the embarrassingly late age of twenty-seven however, I DID find a girlfriend with similar interests. A bird lover herself, she used to think the cooing noises I made were cute. We dated for some years, fell deeply in love and eventually married (she gave me a pair of homing pigeons as a wedding gift, how cool is that?) It wasn't all plain sailing though, after the first couple of years my love of pigeons began affecting me psychologically - cooing involuntarily, bobbing my head as I strutted around, even naming our daughter pigeonella our marriage begun crumbling. A few months later and she could take no more. She scooped our daughter up in her arms, smashed a loaf of bread in my face, screaming "Here!!! I hope you and your flying rats will be very happy together!!!" and stormed out of my door and out of my life. That was six months ago now, and I'm still pecking up the pieces.

I found myself in a pub in Cork, Ireland. A group of American tourists came in. One of the Americans said, in a loud voice, "I hear you Irish think you're great drinkers. I bet $5,000 that no one here can drink 20 pints of Guinness in 30 minutes." The bar was silent, but the American noticed one Irishman leaving. No one took up the bet. 40 minutes later, the Irishman who left returned and said, "Hey Yank, is yer bet still on?""Sure" said the American, "20 pints in 30 minutes for a bet of $5,000 ." "Grand, " replied the Irishman, "so pour the pints and start the clock."It was very close but the last drop was consumed with 2 seconds to spare.OK Yank, pay up." said the Irishman."I'm happy to pay, here's your money" said the American. "But tell me, when I first offered the wager, I saw you leave. Where did you go?' "Well sir", replied the Irishman, "$5,000 is a lot of money to a man like me, so I went to the pub across the road to see if I could do it.
