A Woman’s World THINGS ONLY US WOMEN UNDERSTAND... d

10. Why it's good to have five pairs of black shoes.

9. The difference between cream, ivory, and off-white. 8. Crying can be fun. 7. FAT CLOTHES. 6. A salad, diet drink, and a entire tub of Häagen-Dazs make a balanced lunch. 5. Discovering a designer dress on the sale rack can be considered a peak life experience. 4. The inaccuracy of every bathroom scale ever made. 3. A good man might be hard to find, but a good hairdresser is next to impossible. 2. Why a phone call between two women never lasts under ten minutes. AND THE NUMBER ONE THING ONLY WOMEN UNDERSTAND: 1. OTHER WOMEN!

GETTING MARRIED...

A woman announces to her friend that she is getting married for the fourth time. "How wonderful! But I hope you don't mind me asking what happened to your first husband?" "He ate poisonous mushrooms and died." "Oh, how tragic! What about your second husband?" "He ate poisonous mushrooms, too, and died." "Oh, how terrible! I'm almost afraid to ask you about your third husband." “He died of a broken neck." “A broken neck?" "He wouldn't eat the mushrooms."

CELEB & ROYAL DISPUTES...

KANYE & KIM: COULD THEY BE FRIENDLY EXES? IT SEEMS NOT... One year since they officially split and relations between Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are at an all-time low, with bad blood on both sides. Last month, things got way worse when Kanye lashed out at Kim yet again. In since-deleted Instagram posts, the rapper demanded a “public apology” from Kim and her family, after they supposedly didn’t tell him the location and time of daughter Chicago’s birthday party. Kim posted a statement to Instagram, telling followers, “Kanye’s obsession with trying to control and manipulate our situation so negatively and publicly is only causing further pain for all.”

Angelina got married back in 2014 at the Chateau. The sprawling French hideaway, nestled in the beautiful Provence countryside, had been one of the family's favorite holiday destinations since 2008. In October 2021 Angelina was cleared to sell her shares to a third party after she asked a California court to allow the sale to go ahead despite the fact that they were still finalizing divorce proceedings. Brad is now suing for tortious interference with contractual relations. Where will it end?

ENGAGEMENT & TV GOSSIP...

IS ADELE ENGAGED? ADELE LEFT THE BRIT AWARDS LAST MONTH WITH LOTS OF NEW TROPHIES TO ADD TO HER COLLECTION... It was the MASSIVE rock on her ring finger that caused the stir. SERIES 30...of The Only Way is Essex has been pushed back and will begin in March 2022. It's a major blow for the franchise and its stars who were gearing up to make the 30th series extra special. We want to go on an away trip abroad and because television restrictions are a lot stricter to do that am would be hard!”

AN ELEPHANT

A young man was on holiday in NEVER FORGETS... Kenya after graduating from college. While he was walking through the bush, he came across a young bull elephant standing with one leg raised in the air. The elephant seemed distressed so the man approached it very carefully. He got down on one knee and inspected the elephant's foot. There was a large thorn deeply embedded in the bottom of the foot. As carefully and as gently as he could he worked the thorn out with His hunting knife, after which the elephant gingerly put down its foot. The elephant turned to face the man and with a rather stern look on its face, stared at him. For a good ten minutes the man stood frozen thinking of nothing else but being trampled. Eventually the elephant trumpeted loudly, turned and walked away. The man never forgot that elephant or the events of that day. Twenty years later the man was walking through the zoo with his teenaged son. As they approached the elephant enclosure, one of the creatures turned and walked over to where they are standing at the rail. The large bull elephant stared at him and lifted it's front foot off the ground, then put it down. The elephant did that several times, all the while staring at the man. The man couldn't help wondering if this was the same elephant. After a while it trumpeted loudly; then it continued to stare at him. The man summoned up his courage, climbed over the railing and made his way into the enclosure. He walked right up to the elephant and stared back in wonder. Suddenly the elephant trumpeted again, wrapped its trunk around one of the man's legs and swung him wildly back and forth along the railing, killing him. Probably wasn't the same elephant.

Psychology •After both suffering from depression for a while, the wife wand I were going to commit suicide yesterday. But strangely enough….once she killed herself I started to feel a lot better. So I thought…Sod it….I’ll soldier on. • Iris, my sister-in-law, is a long distance lorry driver. She decided to get a dog for protection for the long days and nights that she was away from home. As she studied a likely candidate, the breeder told her, 'I must warn you that he doesn't like men.''Perfect', Iris thought and promptly bought the dog. Some time later as she was leaving a transport café, two men approached her, in the car park, and Iris watched to see how her new 'bodyguard' would react. It soon became clear that the breeder hadn't been joking, because as the men got closer, the dog ran under the nearest car and hid. • A blonde pushes her BMW into a gas station. She tells the mechanic, "It died." After he works on it for a few minutes, it's idling smoothly. She says, "What's the story?" He replies, "Just crap in the carburettor."She says, "How often do I have to do that?"

Psychology • Due to inherit a fortune when his sickly, widower father died, Robert decided he needed a woman to enjoy it with. So he went to a singles bar and he searched until he spotted a woman whose beauty took his breath away. "Right now, I'm just an ordinary man," he said to her, "but within a month or two, my father will pass and I'll inherit over 20 million dollars." The woman went home with Robert. Four days later she became his stepmother. •Two married friends are out drinking one night when one turns to the other and says, "You know, I don't know what else to do. Whenever I go home after we've been out drinking, I turn the headlights off before I get to the driveway. I shut off the engine and coast into the garage. I take my shoes off before I go into the house, I sneak up the stairs, and I get undressed in the bathroom. I ease into bed and my wife STILL wakes up and yells at me for staying out so late!" His friend looks at him and says, "Well, you're obviously taking the wrong approach. I screech into the driveway, slam the door, storm up the steps, throw my shoes into the closet, jump into bed, rub my hands on my wife's butt and say... How about some sex?... And she's always sound asleep."

A Man’s World

It’s A FUNNY OLD WORLD...

A man was walking along a Florida beach and stumbled across an old lamp. He picked it up and rubbed it, and out popped a genie. The genie said, "OK, You released me from the lamp, blah blah blah. This is the fourth time this month, and I'm getting a little sick of these wishes so you can forget about three... You only get one wish!" The man sat, and thought about it for a while and said, "I've always wanted to go to Hawaii, but I'm scared to fly, and I get very seasick. Could you build me a bridge to Hawaii so I can drive over there to visit?" The genie laughed and said, "That's impossible!” Think of the logistics of that! How would the supports ever reach the bottom of the Pacific? Think of how much concrete... how much steel? No, think of another wish." The man said, "OK, I'll try to think of a really good wish." Finally, he said, "I've been married and divorced four times. My wives always said that I don't care and that I'm insensitive. So, I wish that I could understand women, know how they feel inside, and what they're thinking when they give me the silent treatment. Know why they're crying, know what they really want when they say "nothing,", know how to make them truly happy." The genie said, "Do you want that bridge to be two lanes or four?"

THE BRAGGING GOLFER...

A guy stood over his tee shot for what seemed an eternity, looking up, looking down, measuring the distance, figuring the wind direction and speed... driving his partner nuts. Finally his exasperated partner says, ''What the hell is taking so long? Hit the damned ball!'' The guy answers, ''My wife is up there watching me from the clubhouse. I want to make this a perfect shot.'' ''Give me a break! You don't stand a snowball's chance in hell of hitting her from here.''

Are golf properties just for golfers?

Green Golf Townhouse - Living Room, Estepona Main Picture: Green Golf , Estepona

Golf properties offer unparalleled access to some of Spain’s finest fairways. But are they only designed to meet the needs of golfers? We put that question to Marc Pritchard, Sales and Marketing Director at leading Spanish home builder Taylor Wimpey España.

Are golf properties only suitable for golfers?

Green Golf Townhouse, Estepona

Marc: Absolutely not! In fact, when European Tour Destinations researched this, they found that 66% of golf community residents were not actually golfers. So the majority of those who own second homes on golf courses buy there for other reasons.

What are the attractions of golf properties for non-golfers? Marc: Golf properties tend to be very peaceful. They are an escape from the constant noise and ‘always on’ nature of modern daily life. The lush green surroundings and extensive views can feel like an antidote to stress. They are places where you can dine outside on the terrace and listen to birdsong. Most golf resorts also provide clubhouse facilities, so residents have somewhere to connect and socialise when the mood takes them, whether they want a quiet catchup over a glass of wine or a lively meal with friends and family. The wider local area usually plays into buyers’ decisions too. At Green Golf in Estepona, for example, the spacious townhouses are just 3 km from the beach. They’re also nestled between Gibraltar and Puerto Banús, providing plenty of options for owners to enjoy their leisure time.

And for golfers? Marc: Golfers, of course, benefit from ultimate ease of access to the fairways and greens of the resort where they buy. Golf properties often come with some kind of discount for the local facilities. Owners at Green Golf, for example, enjoy special privileges at Estepona Golf, for all of the resort’s services and facilities.

Why buy at Green Golf? Marc: Our key-ready homes at Green Golf offer excellent value for the local area. The properties face south or southwest for making the most of the sunshine and come with lovely, large terraces. Views extend over the golf course to the sea and there are communal gardens and pools for residents to enjoy. Prices at Green Golf start at €310,000 for a three-bedroom, two-bathroom townhouse.

Overseas Assets Declaration – Modelo 720 The overseas assets declara琀on is a Spanish tax office informa琀on gathering exercise and has been a requirement since the introduc琀on of legisla琀on in 2012. The declara琀on is made by comple琀ng a form known as 'Modelo 720'. The deadline for submi ng the form is the 31st of March. Un琀l recently, failure to make an overseas assets declara琀on, or submission of an inaccurate one, would result in costly penal琀es. Unreported overseas assets that were later discovered by the authori琀es, were treated as undeclared income on which tax should have been paid. The fines and penal琀es for such could amount to more than 150% of the undeclared asset value.

European Court of Justice Ruling on Spain’s Overseas Assets Declaration Law Whilst the law was aimed at deliberate high level tax evaders, the fact it allowed penal琀es to be imposed, simply for non-declara琀on of overseas assets, meant that expats and other foreigners living in Spain, who are likely to have such assets, would fall foul of this rather intrusive legisla琀on. On January 27th this year, the European Court of Jus琀ce ruled that the penal琀es Spain imposed for failing to properly disclose overseas assets were excessive and contrary to EU statutes and principles. The ruling stated that the sanc琀ons for incorrect or late compliance are dispropor琀onate and discriminatory, adding that the penal琀es may deter businesses and individuals from inves琀ng or moving across borders in the EU single market, thus interfering with the EU’s four freedoms. The EU agree with the principle of the law, so pu ng aside the EU ruling regarding penal琀es and sanc琀ons, the declara琀on of overseas assets con琀nues to be mandatory for all residents in Spain. If you just took up residency in Spain, or did so last year, you may need to complete the Modelo 720. 10 SIMPLE WAYS Health TO STAY HEALTHY Well Being

AFTER THE LAST FEW YEARS MOST OF US HAD, IT’S SAFE TO SAY THAT THESE DAYS, STAYING HEALTHY LOOKS A BIT DIFFERENT THAN IT USED TO... NOT JUST BECAUSE THE STATE OF BEING HEALTHY HAS ACTUALLY CHANGED, BUT BECAUSE THE PERCEPTION OF WHAT HEALTH IS HAS EXPANDED. MANY OF US HAVE COME TO REALISE THAT BEING HEALTHY IS ABOUT THE PHYSICAL, THE MENTAL, AND EMOTIONAL, AND HAVE ACCEPTED THAT WE NEED TO MANAGE OUR BODIES, MINDS, AND EMOTIONS IN ORDER TO ACHIEVE TRUE HOLISTIC WELLNESS. THESE TIPS CAN BE IMPLEMENTED TODAY AND CAN HELP PROTECT YOUR BODY FROM ILLNESS AND YOUR MIND FROM STRESS AND UNREST.

viral infections. Just be sure to consult with a medical consulPRACTICE MINDFUL BREATHING: tant if you’re considering a Vitamin D supplement.

The word meditation intimidates a lot of people, but an easy way to start is by learning how to breathe mindfully. To begin, try taking a few long, deep breaths in through your nose, down to your belly, and then exhaling out of your mouth when you wake up in the morning. The quiet of those first few moments in the morning will allow you to learn how to pay attention to your breathing and how your body feels. Then, whenever you feel overwhelmed throughout the day, do it again, listening to and feeling each breath. Eventually, you may choose to extend the amount of time you practice and dedicate a portion of your day to it, but you can start small right now.

TAKE A DAILY WALK: It can be as little as five

minutes around the block or for as long as your schedule permits. Walking is a great way to get the blood circulating well throughout your body, it’s good for your heart and your muscles and the fresh air and sunshine are good for the immune system. Unless it’s raining or snowing, try to get out for at least a few minutes each day.

GET ENOUGH VITAMIN D:

Another bonus of walking is that it will help your body absorb more natural Vitamin D from the sun. Vitamin D is crucial for the immune system and overall wellbeing and studies have shown that nearly half of all Americans may be suffering from Vitamin D deficiency. Furthermore, Vitamin D deficiency can have a negative impact on individuals who contract COVID-19, since it is associated with an increase in inflammatory cytokines, increased risk of pneumonia, and other upper respiratory

TAKE VIRTUAL FITNESS CLASSES:

Don’t fancy going to the gym? Then many gyms and fitness centers are offering live virtual classes as part of your membership or for a stand-alone fee. Additionally, there are a number of apps and websites that offer online streaming fitness classes for a very small monthly fee.

EAT MORE PLANTS: We’re not going to tell you

to stop eating meat if that’s not something you want to do, but we will encourage you to start eating more plant foods. No matter how you choose to do it, eating more plant-based foods can help reduce cholesterol and stabilise blood sugar, and many of the vitamins and minerals that naturally occur in plant foods are excellent for the immune system. So maybe you switch to one plant-based meal a day or even a week, or perhaps you choose fruit and veggies for your snacks throughout the day or you simply cut down the meat and dairy portions at every meal and add in more plants.

FIND A NEW HOBBY:

Boredom can affect mood and mental health tremendously, and many people have found themselves feeling depressed and withdrawn due to a lack of stimulation and socializing. Maybe in the past, you participated in an in-person book club or a knitting circle? Perhaps sign up for virtual painting or cooking classes, start birdwatching or find a few podcasts to listen to.

Medical Tips

A HEART ATTACK: TREATING & PREVENTING

A heart attack (myocardial infarction or MI) is a serious medical emergency in which the supply of blood to the heart is suddenly blocked, usually by a blood clot. A heart attack is a medical emergency. Call 112 and ask for an ambulance if you suspect a heart attack.A lack of blood to the heart may seriously damage the heart muscle and can be life threatening.

Symptoms of a heart attack:

Symptoms of a heart attack can include: • Chest pain: a feeling of pressure, heaviness, tightness or squeezing across your chest pain in other parts of the body it can feel as if the pain is spreading from your chest to your arms (usually the left arm, but it can affect both arms), jaw, neck, back and tummy. • Feeling lightheaded or dizzy • Sweating • Shortness of breath • Feeling sick (nausea) or being sick (vomiting) • An overwhelming feeling of anxiety (similar to a panic attack) • Coughing or wheezing The chest pain is often severe, but some people may only experience minor pain, similar to indigestion. While the most common symptom in both men and women is chest pain, women are more likely to have other symptoms such as shortness of breath, feeling or being sick and back or jaw pain. Call 112 immediately if you think someone might be having a heart attack. The faster you act, the better their chances.

TREATING HEART ATTACKS: While waiting for an ambulance, it may help to

chew and then swallow a tablet of aspirin (ideally 300mg), as long as the person having a heart attack is not allergic to aspirin.Aspirin helps to thin the blood and improves blood flow to the heart. In hospital, treatment for a heart attack depends on how serious it is. The 2 main treatments are: • Using medicines to dissolve blood clots. • Surgery to help restore blood to the heart.

CAUSES OF A HEART ATTACK: Coronary heart disease (CHD) is the leading

cause of heart attacks. CHD is a condition in which the major blood vessels that supply the heart get clogged with deposits of cholesterol, known as plaques. Before a heart attack, 1 of the plaques bursts (ruptures), causing a blood clot to develop at the site of the rupture. The clot may block the supply of blood to the heart, triggering a heart attack.

COMPLICATIONS OF A HEART ATTACK: Complications of a heart attack

can be serious and possibly life threatening. These include: • Arrhythmias : these are abnormal heartbeats. 1 type is where the heart begins beating faster and faster, then stops beating (cardiac arrest) • Cardiogenic shock where the heart's muscles are severely damaged and can no longer contract properly to supply enough blood to maintain many body functions. • Heart rupture: where the heart's muscles, walls or valves split apart These complications can happen quickly after a heart attack and are a leading cause of death. Many people die suddenly from a complication of a heart attack before reaching hospital or within the 1st month after a heart attack.

PREVENTING A HEART ATTACK

There are 5 main steps you can take to reduce your risk of having a heart attack (or having another heart attack): • Smokers should quit smoking • Lose weight if you're overweight • Do regular exercise adults should do at least 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes) of moderate-intensity aerobic activity each week, unless advised otherwise by the doctor in charge of your care.

• Eat a low-fat, high-fibre diet, including wholegrains and at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day • Moderate your alcohol consumption

CALL 112 IMMEDIATELY IF YOU THINK SOMEONE MIGHT BE HAVING A HEART ATTACK. THE FASTER YOU ACT, THE BETTER THEIR CHANCES.

MEDICAL MAYHEM

Giving a Sample:

One day an Irishman goes into a pharmacy reaches into his pocket and takes out a small Irish whiskey bottle and a teaspoon. He pours some whiskey onto the teaspoon and offers it to the chemist. "Could you taste this for me, please?" The chemist takes the teaspoon, puts it in his mouth, swills the liquid around and swallows it. "Does that taste sweet to you?" says Paddy. "No, not at all," says the chemist. "Oh that's a relief, “says Paddy." “The doctor told me to come here and get my urine tested for sugar.”

Memory Loss: An agitated patient was stomping around the psychiatrist's office, running his hands through his hair, almost in tears. ''Doctor, my memory's gone. Gone! I can't remember my wife's name. Can't remember my children's names. Can't remember what kind of car I drive. Can't remember where I work. It was all I could do to find my way here.'' ''Calm down. How long have you been like this?'' ''Like what?'' It’s a Baby: A woman is resting after giving birth to her baby. The doctor comes in to her room, and he says, "I have something to tell you about your baby." The woman sits up in bed and says, "What's wrong with my baby, Doctor? What's wrong?" The doctor says, "Well now, nothing's wrong, exactly, but your baby is a little bit different. Your baby is a hermaphrodite." The woman says, "A hermaphrodite.... what's that?" The doctor says, "Well, it means your baby has the... er... features...of a male and a female." The woman turns pale. She says, "Oh my god! You mean it has a penis, and... a brain?!"

STRANGE BUTTRUE

Strange Strangebuttrue... HOW PEPSI CAME TO OWN A SOVIET NAVAL FLEET

A BIZARRE AGREEMENT, BETWEEN PEPSI AND RUSSIA IN 1989 KEPT SODA FLOWING INTO IT’S CITIZENS’ MOUTHS. When one thinks of Russia’s favourite drink, vodka comes to mind. But what if another, softer drink captivated the hearts of the Soviet Union? LOVE AT FIRST SIP: It all started at the American National Exhibit in Moscow in 1959 when then-Vice President Richard Nixon and Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev became locked in the infamous Kitchen Debate, an argument about the perks of capitalism versus communism. To cool down the heated discussion, Donald Kendall, the head of Pepsi’s international division, told Nixon to offer Khrushchev a taste of the fruits of capitalism’s labour: Pepsi. It was love at first sip for Khrushchev, who urged his comrades to join him in trying the tasty beverage.

THE BARTER SYSTEM RETURNS: Getting Pepsi into the country wasn’t a smooth transaction. Since the Soviet ruble had no value outside of Russia, both parties had to resort to more traditional bartering methods to reach a deal. In exchange for every bottle of Pepsi sold, Russia would provide the soda giant with an equal amount of Stolichnaya vodka to resell in the U.S. By the late 1980s, Pepsi realised that Russia’s soda consumption far outpaced the power of the American boozehound. In a bizarre agreement, Russia sold Pepsi 17 submarines, a frigate, a cruiser, and a destroyer in 1989 to keep soda flowing into its citizens’ mouths. With all this firepower, Pepsi indirectly became the sixthlargest naval fleet in the world. Pepsi’s glory days with Russia have since fizzled out, following Coca-Cola’s fast break into the country during the Moscow Olympic Games in 1980. At one time though PEPSI were the most powerful soda company on the planet!

ALL REVVED UP

SUPER-SALOON CONCEPT CARS Car manufactures are always coming up with the new “must have” concepts but super saloon’s have been with us for a while now. We take a look at five of the best example that never made production… Bugatti 16C Galibier: The Bugatti Galibier nearly came into production in 2010. Having the same W16 8.0-litre engine as the Veyron and being 5.3 metres long with twin superchargers instead of four turbos for better low-end torque. Bugatti put the top speed at around 217mph, with a suggested retail cost of well over £1million. The go-ahead to build 3,000 cars was apparently given in 2011 by then boss Wolfgang Dürheimer. But he later decided “There will not be a four-door Bugatti.” The Cadillac Sixteen: The Cadillac Sixteen is, 16cylinders, 13.6-litres, 1,000bhp and 1,000lb ft. Built to pay tribute to the 16-cylinder Caddys of the 1930’s, the Sixteen was as much an engineering exercise as a concept. Its engine was built from scratch, using a Corvette V8 as its base, and could shut-down up to 12-cylinders under light loads to save fuel. Lamborghini Estoque: Revealed at the Paris Motor Show in 2008, the Estoque was a near productionready super-saloon concept built to gauge public opinion. The concept has the Gallardo’s V10 and allwheel drive, but Lamborghini hinted the eventual production car could be fitted with a V12, hybrid or diesel…. IN A LAMBORGHINI?!? Peugeot 908 RC: The 908 RC was just exceptionally strange. It is, in essence, a four-door luxury limo with the 5.5-litre twin-turbo V12 diesel engine from Peugeot’s 908 Le Mans racer. Mounted BEHIND the passengers, the engine was good for a hefty 691bhp and 885lb ft of torque.

70

Ford Interceptor: A great BIG, rear-wheel drive fullsize sedan from the USA. Hardly in the same league as many of the other uber-saloons, but it looks superb! Based on a lengthened Mustang chassis, the Interceptor had a 5.0-litre V8 running on ethanol, with 400bhp and a claimed top speed of around 170mph. Never made production of course due to Ford wasn’t in the best shape back in 2006.
