After some long hours, patient mini models and endless meetings, I’m excited to present Could I Have That? Mini Fall 2016. Another collection of trends, brands, discoveries, tips and more when it comes to all things baby/kid related. Since Elin entered toddler-hood, I have to say it’s become one of my favorite ages to hang with, dress and sit back and watch the leaps and bounds when it comes to development. I’m learning that the balance is no joke when it comes to juggling family, work and friends. I have found that having a supportive tribe of fellow mamas is like gold when you’re navigating your way through it, which is why we’ve started a new series called Cool Mom featuring a different group of women each issue. It’s my personal favorite within this latest issue. I hope you enjoy reading it and please please tell me what you want to see more of in the next issue. Also a special thank you to the team, models and friends that helped me put this all together. I am forever grateful for your hard work and support! xx,

Sam

A R NA B A J R A K TA R E V I Ć MY KIND OF SEASON: I still remember outfit shopping for back to school. My mom patiently walked from store to store with me as I stubbornly prolonged the search. My design choices as a child are very similar to what I wear now. Never a fan of pink, glitter or light up sneakers, I gravitated to the classics and natural tones. My favorite seasons then and now are fall and winter. My dad attributes this to my January birthday. I think it's because I prefer layers, fall fashion, brisk walks and soup. Fall heralds personal renewal, inspiration, and looking inward.

MANAGING EDITOR

MICHAELA TUTOR T I M E T O E M B R A C E FA L L : This was such a fun book to put together! After getting our feet wet with the first edition of the Mini Mag - I knew that the possibilities were endless moving forward! I especially love Fall because my style lends itself well to layered clothing, warm drinks, and cozy blankets. I had a blast putting the California spin on the Fall season throughout this magazine - especially for the little ones! I would have to say that my favorite story is the "Little Trends, Big Impact" - it's so fun to create stylish, trendy looks for our mini friends!

C R E AT I V E C O N T R I B U T O R

SARA PRINCE M Y FAV O R I T E M I N I M A G P R O J E C T: It was so fun to share my little DIY owl costume in this issue! Some felt, scissors and glue – and a bit of time and patience – and we had the cutest, hootiest owl in our midst. I hope it ignites your creative spark and that you'll have a feathery friend afoot this Halloween! I also loved styling a few looks for the Little Trends, Big Impact story – that's my guy on the cover! Fairy wings might not be his jam but he's definitely got his California-kid look down pat: messy hair don't care, always.

BIG APPLE, LITTLE THINGS On a recent trip to New York I stumbled upon the sweetest children’s boutique in Greenwich Village called Yoya. I could hardly contain myself when we walked into the tiny space that had the most adorable clothes, wall hangings, shoes, books, blankets and stuffed animals displayed floor to ceiling. We spent a good chunk of time devouring the racks of perfectly color coordinated ensembles while Elin entertained herself with their selection of books and toys. I discovered a handful of lines—Emile et Ida, Pepes shoes, Tutu du Monde and Luise Misha—that have become Fall favorites as of late. Their website has been a favorite virtual stop these days. @yoya_nyc

ALEX & ALEXA

FINER THREADS Coined as the “Net-a-Porter for under 14 year-olds” this one-stop shop has almost every designer brand for kids that you could wish for. It’s pure eye candy since everything (surprise, surprise) is crazy adorable and will quickly make your kid’s closet better than yours. With finds from Chloe, Missoni, Ralph Lauren, Marc Jacobs Mini, Stella McCartney, Oscar de la Renta and more it’s hard not to find something special to splurge on. Be sure check out the Life & Style section which is filled with style tips and round ups on different trends. @alexandalexa

WOOLF WITH ME

P I L L O W TA L K

There’s nothing more fun than personalizing gifts, especially when it comes to the kiddos. Whether they’re new and tiny or learning to say their name, it’s a perfect way of celebrating them. I still can’t get over how sweet it is when Elin tells someone her name, ”eee-yen,” in the most confident, sure voice. So when I came across a line of organic bedding and linens that offered personalized pillows, swaddle blankets and more, I had to share the discovery. The stylish line can be mixed and matched and comes in a handful of shades to choose from. The pillows are our personal favorite.

DAINTY CHEEKS DOLLS

DA I N T Y C H E E K S Adorable is an understatement when it comes to Dainty Cheeks Dolls. Handmade with love, each doll is stitched with incredible detail using recycled/vintage fabrics. The collection of owls, unicorns, cats, lions and more can also be adorned with different outfits, accessories and hats to make the imagination even greater. But be sure to buy the one you want quickly, these sought after dolls go quickly each week!

@daintycheeks LITTLE MINIS

TWIRLABLE I stumbled upon a dress recently that just about stopped me in my tracks. It had a mood of its own, fun, carefree, innocent, timeless and sweet just like the adorable girl with a bob modeling it. The line is called Little Minis and its creators are two mamas in the fashion industry, Kelly McKee Zajfren and Tria Meisler. Their collection of rompers and “shortie” dresses are made in LA using vintage cotton fabric.

FIRE & CREME

PA R T Y P E O P L E When it comes to parties for little ones, there’s one place that can instantly make it an unforgettable one— enter Fire & Creme. The full service event planning company in Venice, CA will help you plan, design and execute your event (big or small) and has loads of stylish (and mini) decorative tables, chairs, costumes, tents, accessories, plates, gift bags and more. Just looking at their website made me want to throw that “picture perfect party” for Elin and her friends. Be sure to take a gander at their gallery of party ideas, tons of inspiration!

STELLA M C CARTNEY KIDS F A L L

I have been a long time fan of Stella McCartney wearing everything from ready-to-wear and handbags to the perfume and activewear. So when Elin was born, naturally I got busy shopping for tiny clothes and just about jumped out of my chair when I discovered Stella McCartney had a kid’s line. The incredibly playful clothes have become some of Elin’s personal favorites, which makes the whole process of getting dressed ten times more fun. We’ve been giddy over the latest Fall 2016 collection so I thought I would share some favorites…

CAMILLE STYLES is one of those mamas that can bake a cake, juggle two kids, write a book, run a business and somehow make it all look easy. She’s the brains behind her eponymous site, which touches on everything from entertaining and food to style and beauty, and the author of Camille Styles Entertaining. I knew that when it came to cooking with kids, she would have a recipe and a clever approach. Here’s her tips and recipe for making guacamole and a job or two for your little sous chef.

camillestyles.com

H O L Y G UAC A M O L E CAMILLE'S ULTIMATE GUACAMOLE RECIPE Serves 4

INGREDIENTS: 1/4 cup chopped white onion 1 fresh jalapeño, chopped (including seeds if you like it super hot) 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro 1 garlic clove, peeled and minced 1 large Mexican Haas avocado, halved and pitted 2 teaspoons freshly-squeezed lime juice 3/4 teaspoon kosher salt 1/4 c diced tomato 1 tablespoon queso fresco

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. In a mortar and pestle, combine onion, jalapeño, cilantro and garlic. 2. Using a paring knife, cut a crisscross pattern into the meat of the avocado, then use

CAMILLE'S TIPS FOR GUACAMOLE-IN-A-BAG: • Place all of your guacamole ingredients in a ziplock bag and seal tightly. • Let your kids squeeze the bag gently to achieve the desired consistency. • Snip a small hole in the bottom corner of the bag and squeeze the guacamole through, as if you were piping icing - perfect for tostadas, nachos etc. • + Bonus: mess free, no dirty dishes or children!

a big spoon to scoop the cubes into the mortar and pestle

3. Add lime juice and salt and mash everything together. I like to leave a rough consistency, but if you prefer a smoother texture, purée in a blender.

4. Gently fold tomatoes into the guacamole. Sprinkle with queso fresco, and serve. couldihavethat.com

THE BEST PART OF MOTHERHOOD:

It is hard to say the best part of being a mom

because every stage has been so amazing, but different. I love how much I love her. I love the feeling I get when I am with her because my relationship with her is so

uncomplicated; it is just pure happiness. She is such a creative, remarkable soul, so to watch her become her own little being is so rewarding.

...AND THE HARDEST PART:

The hardest thing about being a mom for

me is the fact that I am a working mom

and there is so much time away from her. Owning a business means countless hours apart, which is hard to take sometimes. She

doesn't fully understand why I am gone so

much and it makes me sad that I am missing out on time with her. That being said, I

am proud of what I do and what we have accomplished, so it makes me happy for her to be a part of it. She spends a lot of time in

the office, so she is witnessing magical stuff. Team FREDA is a group of bad ass ladies I

For Parker, I honestly love Zara. I love

their color palettes. I love that it feels like something I would want to wear and I love

that it's an accessible price point. I think their stuff is really, really great and you don't see it everywhere like you do with some

larger brands. For me? I'm not super brand

loyal, but I'm loving all things Ulla Johnson right now. I also just got this See By Chloe

dark denim mini that I'm loving now and can't wait to wear in the fall too!

THE BEST PART OF MOTHERHOOD:

The best part about being a mom is the connection that I have with Parker. My

unconditional love for her. The adoration

that she has for me. I know it sounds so mushy-gushy but it's such a wonderful relationship and such a privilege to guide

this little one on her journey through this world. Somehow despite the tantrums it's still the most magical thing!

...AND THE HARDEST PART:

The hardest part about being a mom is

feeling like I'm doing a good job in all of the different parts of my life.

Making

sure that I'm being a supportive wife, an

attentive mom, and a good business owner
