Premier Stays Fife is a family-run agency which lets out holiday properties of the highest quality in select locations of St Andrews and the charming seaside villages of the East Neuk of Fife. Golfers are particularly happy in this revered home of the game. The most sought-after property in the company portfolio, luxurious 20 Golf Place, actually overlooks the 18th hole of the world-famous Old Course at St Andrews Links itself.

The people behind the business, Marius and Simona, have lived in the area for nearly 20 years and adore sharing its fantastic attributes with their customers. Fife has wide appeal for holidaymakers of all temperaments, whether for romance, culture, sightseeing, relaxation or golf. They have created a brand of 45 exquisite, hand-picked letting properties to suit all temperaments – including dog lovers who want to bring their pets along – and have set themselves the most exacting standards of housekeeping, quality, value and service for all their customers.

Among the most popular are the Stewarts Resort Lodges in the ancient coastal city of St Andrews itself, with its famous streetscene dominated by an iconic castle, cathedral and university. These

are thoroughly modern, wellequipped lodges, mostly twobedroomed and dog friendly, with an en-suite master bedroom and open plan living/dining/ kitchen area. Most come with their own private hot tub on outdoor decking. Guests have unlimited access to a health spa with gym, sauna, steam room, restaurant, reservoir walks, children’s play park and mini golf.

One of the grandest properties in the collection is Ruddon Grange, a magnificent Victorian family property for eight with magnificent sea views across the Firth of Forth in Elie. Spacious and wellappointed with gorgeous gardens, it is in prime position for the beach, 16th century harbour, golf clubs and restaurants and ideal for mixed generations to share. It even featured in Amanda Lamb’s TV holiday travel series, Sunshine Getaways.

Others are in yet more Fife locations of great character, charm and beauty, including Anstruther, Cellardyke, Crail, Kingsbarns and St Monans.

Dog Friendly Escapes

Dog friendly walks and activities abound in the Lake District National Park, an amazing landscape of unspoiled and stunningly scenic countryside with water at its heart. One of the most dramatic locations of all is around Wastwater, England’s deepest lake, with its backdrop of impressive mountains including England’s highest, Scafell Pike. Naturally, local walks are awesome, but never much too far from a great place to eat or enjoy well-earned refreshment.

Some 250,000 people a year scale Scafell Pike. Some hardy souls even do it as part of the Three Peaks Challenge, to along with the highest in Scotland and Wales, Ben Nevis and Mount Snowdon, in the same 24 hours. However, that’s not compulsory and many human and canine visitors alike prefer to stroll alongside Wastwater’s

three mile length, or head for the coast rather than the inland fells, perhaps to Victorian seaside resorts such as Seascale, St Bees, Allonby, and Silloth, all with excellent beaches.

Coastal Ravenglass is unique in Europe, falling between two UNESCO World Heritage Sites, those of the Lake District and the Frontiers of the Roman Empire, the latter including Cumbria’s end of Hadrian’s Wall at Bowness-on-Solway. Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, La’al Ratty, spans both, heading north through the beautiful Eskdale Valley using heritage steam and diesel trains for the seven mile journey crossing the estuary of the Esk, Mite and Irt Rivers. Dog ‘Rover’ tickets are available. Ravenglass also has an outstanding visitor attraction in Muncaster Castle and Gardens.

Dating back to 1864, this spectacular former vicarage provides a unique and unforgettable stay for a family get-together or a celebration amidst the pretty Lake District countryside.

Nestled at the edge of the Lake District, The Old Vicarage is sure to impress from the moment you arrive. This historic property has links to the 4th Barron of Muncaster and was designed by the famous architect William White. The attention to detail is immaculately displayed through opulent interiors and designs, while the retained features brim with character and charm. You will have access to a host of luxurious amenities including a games room, a cinema room and a sunken hot tub in the private garden, while the multiple living spaces provide the perfect setting to socialise and entertain.

Luxury Coastal Escapes

Cornwall’s south coast is peppered with delightful fishing villages replete with cobbled streets, whitewashed houses, quirky shops and delightful places to eat and drink. The seafront is craggy and rugged with caves, coves and rockpools, a haven of delight for people and pets. In a welldocumented past, it was a very busy hive of activity for smugglers.

The coast around Talland Bay is beautiful and well-served by cafes and icecream stops where people can pause to admire the stunning seascapes, perhaps while walking part of the dramatic and beautiful South Coast Path.

Artists and writers have been drawn to these parts for generations and their work is proudly shown and sold in many of the little shops and galleries which provide such charm to the area.

The area also boasts many outstanding visitor attractions, among them The Eden Project with its space age biomes reproducing the humid jungle rainforests of South East Asia, West Africa and South America the Mediterranean Zone and the Temperate Zone. Nearby, the Lost Gardens of Heligan are found and admired by many, regenerated from its Victorian heyday after being ‘lost’ due to its staff being called to duty in World War One.

Visitors can discover Cornwall’s extraordinary industrial contributions to the world at Wheal Martyn china clay mining museum and the former mineral port of Charlestown, now better known for tall ships and being a film location for Poldark. Escape to Pitlochry

Set in the very heart of Scotland, the Highland town of Pitlochry is an ever-popular tourist resort with a reputation for beauty, variety and vibrancy. It stands in the foothills of the Grampians, on the sparkling River Tummel, surrounded by the peaks, glens and lush countryside.

Apart from fishing the river, or perhaps nearby Loch Tay, one of the area’s prime attractions is the famous Pitlochry Salmon Ladder. This amazing piece of engineering – free to visit - was created after the Tummel was dammed to generate hydro-electric power, from 1947 to 1951. The ‘ladder’ has 34 tiered water chambers rising more than 86 metres (282 feet). These are linked by tunnels which enable some 5,000 salmon per year to pass safely upstream into Loch Faskally.

A beautiful Georgian country house in the heart of Perthshire. Our home, with its 6 public rooms and 8 en-suite bedrooms, is fully equipped to comfortably cater for up to 20 guests.

Dunfallandy House is a place for people to come and relax in the Perthshire countryside. Guests can enjoy private access to our house gardens or sit and enjoy a drink by the open fire in our bar lounge. Our house bar is stocked with one of the largest whisky collections in the Pitlochry area, offering the chance to try rare and limited-edition drams, there is also a separate poker snug for anyone wanting to play games. Breakfast is served in the main dining room, and in the evenings pizzas and platters are available in the bar area, as well as homemade Scottish desserts.

For those who wish, we have the Fergusson Lounge, a room hosting a grand piano, comfortable seating and a projector screen. Guests can sit and read during the day from our house book selection or watch a movie in the evening. Pitlochry town is a 2 minute drive from the house, or a 20 minute walk along the beautiful river Tummel.

Dunfallandy House has 8 guest bedrooms all with en-suite showers, each one individually decorated in honour of certain Scottish Clans belonging to those who have helped us through the transition back to being a hotel. The rooms are front and rear facing showing the house gardens, and each come with tea and coffee facilities and complimentary toiletries. We do not have televisions in the guest rooms, instead each room has an Amazon tablet, pre-loaded with all the local television apps, giving people the chance to watch catch up TV if required. Likewise, movies are available on the large projector in the Fergusson Lounge.

People can walk the route and see another famous landmark, Pitlochry Festival Theatre, one to rival those of London and Edinburgh. They also see Port na Craig, a hamlet established by 12th century monks. Nearby Faskally Wood hosts a spectacular annual immersive experience or music, lights and nature, The Enchanted Forest, this year from October 3 to November 3.

No visit to Scotland is complete without a whisky tour and Pitlochry is proud of Blair Athol Distillery, with an ancient water source running down from the area’s most prominent mountain, the Corbett (2,500 to 3,000 feet) Ben Vrackie.

And in this land of castles, one of the best is 5 Star-rated Blair Castle and Gardens, ancestral seat of Clan Murray, with a fascinating, turbulent history spanning 750 years.

Escape to the North Highlands

If your greatest desire is to ‘get away from it all,’ you’ll find your dreams coming true at either Seahorses, Drumbeg or Cabin by the Pier. These two modern but traditionally-styled holiday homes offer every chance to enjoy peace, seclusion and maybe catch some very special sightings of animal life.

Seahorses is found down a track in the North West Highland parish of Assynt, where red and sika deer are apt to wander and trout make their way through sea lochs and the open sea. Knockan Crag National Nature Reserve forms part of the North West Highlands Geopark and presents mind-boggling geology spanning 3 billion years and mapping the collision of continents which shaped modern Britain.

Completed in 2012, Seahorses was designed to give the highest standards of comfort and warmth within, whilst maintaining a traditional style of exterior. We hope to provide a contemporary home filled with light and all that is necessary for a perfect break, away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Seahorses sleeps 6 and is also dog-friendly.

Upon entering the front door to Seahorses you will find yourself in the hallway, with plenty of hooks for hanging coats and dog leads. The sitting-room is a large, light room with stunning views across Loch Nedd to Quinag and out to sea. It has a log burner (initial supply of logs provided) and lovely comfy sofas and chairs covered in luxurious fabrics by Abraham Moon and Sanderson. Most evenings you will be able to watch the badger through the patio doors as she eats her way through the bowl of food you have left out. The kitchen is well equipped and the utility area has a washing machine, tumble dryer and an extra fridge freezer. Open plan with the kitchen is the dining room, with large oak dining table for six and more fabulous views! Both upstairs bedrooms (one twin & one king-size) have fabulous views and their own en-suite shower rooms. All of the shower rooms have power showers, independently controlled underfloor heating and heated towel rail. The downstairs bedroom (king size bed) has an ensuite wet room.

Seahorses sits alone 500m along a rough track off the B869. The only neighbours you will see on a regular basis are sheep, birds and the badger! The sheep roam freely about, so care should be taken if your dog isn’t used to them.

Seahorses

Climbers are spoiled for choice with the peaks of Quinag, Cùl Mòr, Suilven, Canisp and Stac Pollaidh within easy reach.

On the Easter Ross peninsula, Cabin by the Pier offers beautiful walks while on the lookout for dolphins, seals and sundry seabirds, plus the chance to watch fishermen bring in their crab and lobster. It also offers easy access to the North Coast 500 touring route and ferries running day trips to the Orkney Islands.

CABIN BY THE PIER

Escape to the North Highlands

Getting close to nature is the incredible adventure offered by all of our advertisers in the remote North Highlands of Scotland. Whether you’re staying put in the surroundings of your selected holiday abode or touring via the North Coast 500 road route, you’ll be immersed in some of the finest sights, sounds and smells anywhere in the country. Heatherclad landscapes, sparkling lochs and mountain views are all around these parts, along with stunningly beautiful beaches with not a deckchair or ice-cream van to blight the beauty.

Get an elevated view of sea eagles, red deer and dolphins from the Brochs of Coigach, modelled on Iron Age roundhouses but very deliciously spacious and equipped with king-sized beds and saunas and bagging a well-earned Green Tourism Gold Award to go alongside their Scottish Tourist Board 5 Star self-catering grade.

Relax in the wooded glen and grounds of beautiful Glendarroch House, and climb the amazing mountains of Assynt from there or Conival, with a balcony facing out to sea. Take the dogs along for extra fun at Highfield House, in the Muir of Ord and visit the beautiful loch and village of Lochinver.

This character house is very well situated in the countryside, for a highland getaway. Guests can bring upto two well-behaved dogs and have their own garden to use, with an enclosure.

This quirky property has lots of character, with a lobby, large open plan dining area, games room, lounge room, a well-proportioned and equipped kitchen, small kitchenette, three double bedrooms, and a cosy bunk bed room that doubles as a work space. The family bathroom boasts a walk-in shower and luxurious stand-alone bath. Two additional shower rooms and WC are located downstairs.

Guests can entertain themselves in the games room which offers a large TV, seating area with sofa bed, table football and a selection of board games. There is also a lounge downstairs and seating area by the stairs. Both equipped with televisions.

Guests can either rent the whole house (4 bedrooms - max of 8 adults), or part of the house (3 bedrooms - max of 6 adults).

This excludes the flat area.

Glendarroch House is special. Nestling in its own wooded glen and grounds of 15 acres, it offers exceptional peace, privacy, comfort and convenience when exploring this fascinating part of the Highlands. It has been owned by the same family for the last 170 years.

Facing an outstanding panorama of the famous mountains of Assynt, it is minutes from the popular village of Lochinver and only a short journey to the pristine sandy beaches and rugged coastline further north. A paradise for walkers, anglers and nature lovers, you can walk away from the front door in any direction and enjoy a unique sense of freedom and relaxation.

It’s quiet here on the remote Coigach Peninsula, with the only sounds coming from birds, the wind and waves. Burrow down into squashy sofas and take in the views through enormous windows or work your way through a stack of books.

Outside, the Brochs are embedded in nature but the interiors are bright and colourful - lovely relaxing bedrooms, modern bathrooms with saunas, a sociable kitchen - with high beamed ceilings. Sheileagh and Reiner leave their own farmyard eggs, cake and a small decanter of whisky. They‘ve lavished love on the Brochs down to the last detail. In the construction: they even used parts of an old pier built by Sheileagh’s great grandfather.

You’ve got pretty Polbain on your doorstep and Achiltibuie a few miles east. The latter has great spots to eat and trips out to the Summer Isles. Amble along the hills and beaches - there are guides in the Brochs -, swim in the sea and lochs, or hire a kayak and pack a picnic to spend fine days exploring hidden spots.

The historic Essex town of Burnham on Crouch is famous as a yachting centre, but the Clockwork Hotel is its centrepiece, offering party time - spa included – with the unique teaser that you have to first find the keys to unlock its charms.

Luckley Holidays, in the Cotswolds, has numerous fabulous towns and attractions nearby, but even staying put, guests can swim, play tennis, table tennis, pool, or boules and explore a naturally beautiful landscape supporting farm animals, race horses, wildlife and more than 100 flower species.

Luxurious Moss Foot provides a sauna, steam room and hot tubs, cinema room, games room and four acres of tremendous outdoor space. Guests may be content never to venture into the Yorkshire Dales or Lake District National Parks a short drive away.

Extra foldouts can be made up to accommodate 46 people total. If needed to just add The Snuggle for another 2 people.

Luckley Farm is self catering with well equipped kitchens or you are very welcome to have a caterer help out for any meals as wished. Do your own search or we can recommend some local caterers to you. Plan a formal catered sit down meal, or stay relaxed with a bbq or spit roast with some straw bales and music, the ideas and possibilities are endless. The Barns can be hired for a private celebration when booking the Whole Farm.

An Overnight Experience You’ll Never Forget!

What would you do if you were handed the keys to your own hotel for a night? Invite all your friends for a big dinner party, sip cocktails, snoop around the rooms, have the spa to yourselves… but here’s the catch… you’ve got to find the keys first! You have one hour and the clock is ticking. Work together to solve challenges, discover rooms and hidden secrets to unlock your own hotel!

Stylish Art Deco luxury on Barmouth beachfront

Boutique accommodation with a luxurious, Art Deco vibe awaits groups of up to 18 people at The Belmont, Barmouth. It’s a stunning, pet-friendly, seafront property within a few minutes’ walk of the town’s plentiful shops, restaurants, bars and seaside amusements. It’s also on the coastal edge of Snowdonia National Park, with all its amazing scenery of mountains, lakes and wooded valleys so loved by walkers, cyclists, climbers, canoeists and motorists alike.

The house itself is very spacious, with nine bedrooms, four bathrooms including three wetrooms, a fantastic kitchen with adjoining dining facilities for 18 people and an outstanding first floor lounge perfectly positioned for watching sunsets over the sea. All the rooms are beautifully designed in the rich colours of 1920s style and the larger bedrooms have settees.

The Belmont offers great views from all windows, whether of mountains, sea, beach or sand dunes and the house comes with lots of great

amenities, including a basement with a cinema room, games room with a pool table and a kids’ zone with a giant chalkboard, table football, table tennis and air hockey.

Owners Liz and Rich Davis bought The Belmont after they themselves had a fabulous family holiday in it last year, when it was somewhat run down. Liz said: “It was completely refurbished from top to bottom, including having a brand new dream kitchen. This was a passion project. We kept the rooms really spacious, instead of dividing them up to create more. We wanted it to be a home for people so they could go away with their extended family and have loads of space to spread out and play and spend quality time together.”

Outside there is even free parking for up to three cars. This is in a coveted spot alongside Barmouth’s extensive, sandy beach, where dogs are as welcome as the many paddleboarders, swimmers, sun-worshippers and sandcastle architects. In summer,

there are additional amusements such as trampolines, bouncy castles and a pirate play ship.

Barmouth itself provides a plethora of activities and amusements to please all-comers, including the many walkers and cyclists drawn to the beautiful Wales Coast Path. One highly popular trek is a circular route along the Mawddach Estuary, with views to the Llŷn Peninsula, rising up to the stunning high point of Dinas Olau before dropping back down via the ‘Panorama Walk’ back into town via woodland.

Summer Families

Nothing says ‘summer’ quite like an outdoor swim, and here in the landlocked Midlands nowhere says it better than Droitwich Lido! The original spa lido opened in 1935, making use of the area’s vast natural deposits of salt, creating brine the like of the Dead Sea’s. People loved their ‘seaside of Droitwich Spa’ and flocked to it in hot weather, swimming and sunbathing in their hundreds. It closed in 2000, but after a successful local campaign it was refurbished and reopened and now remains one of the UK’s very few open air, salt water lidos with a 40 metre pool, wet play area, sun terrace and café.

Johnson’s Coaches is an award-winning company running fantastic day trips and holidays to amazing places as well as hiring coaches for private parties. Our heated lido pool (50m) is perfect for a refreshing swim, while the large paddling pool is ideal for keeping the little ones entertained. There’s also plenty of space for sunbathing, making Droitwich Lido the perfect spot for a relaxing day out for the whole family.
