This Issue continues on from last issue when
we spoke about the Australian Skills
Quality Authority (ASQA) strategic
review of security industry training
which documented a number of key
findings and recommendations. From
an ASIAL perspective many of these
findings are not new revelations and we
have raised them with the State and
Territory Regulators time and time again,
to no avail. I am talking specifically about
the Mutual Recognition Scheme which
allows RTO’s and students to exploit
inconsistencies in state-based licensing
requirements by obtaining a licence in
a different jurisdiction to where they live
and intend working.
