A group of students in your school have formed a band and want a complete set of publicity material for their future events. The set must include a CD Case which has a minimum of four folding panels containing any number of CD’s and relevant information. The panels can fold in any direction and could hold a combination of CDs. Promotional material should also contain an item which incorporates a smart or modern material. The customer evaluates a product on image and how it relates to their personal taste. Taking my product into account, I would say my product is aimed at female teens and young adults. My product will be current, therefore it is aimed at people who like mainstream items and their age-range tends to be quite young because of this. It is to be expected that the proportion of potential customers will be female, due to colours and femininity. The geographical location of potential customers will most likely be in densely populated cities or towns where the product can be bought effortlessly; also cities and towns are generally associated with youth. My potential customers, at the time of release, may not have an occupation and may depend on their parents for such items. Generally, I think my customer will be in favour of keeping in trend within their gender, so they will like fashion and eye-catching qualities, therefore my potential customers will dislike dull and unattractive designs and will steer away from such things. Student bands are not very widespread so there will not much competition. The most common design requirement is that the femininity of the product is depicted by the use of colours. My customer will be enticed by the colours and objects my packaging displays. They would first consider the colours and see if they relate to their tastes, then they would consider the fonts and images on the packaging. Marketing is the key to selling my product- leaflets, advertisement through posters and stands are many aspects to consider when trying to put a product across to a potential customer. The cost of my product will factor as a huge influence when selling my product, thus I will keep the price within reason.
By discussing my personal interests and what I am looking for in a product, I will be helping you design your product. Age is a key thing to consider when designing a product and considering that I am 14, the product should be based around the stereotypical interests my age group has. Personally, colourful and eyecatching designs are what I look for in a product, as this links with my favourite genre of music: POP. However, I do not like metal music; I think it is too dark and violent-much like the designs that go with it. I live in Newcastle, a populated town where I can buy products easily due to the many shops situated in it. I do not have a job as I am still in school, so instead I just receive ÂŁ20 a week from my parents. My hobbies consist of sports like football and cricket, but, with my friends, I skate in the park.
My understanding of evaluating the customer has improved and the aspects I should consider when designing a customer profile has, too. It has also gave me an idea of where I’m heading with my product and what I may include in the future when designing my product. I now have a foundation to my work and I will ensure that I look back onto this page so I remain within my chosen theme and idea.
Initially, I will evaluate what my customer wants and does not wantthis will help create my customer profile. Subsequently, I will take note of the disassembly of my future product and discover the effects of sizing and placing different elements has on the quality of the product. Then I will collect professional images of finished designs and see if I can incorporate some of their ideas into my own work. I will then design a moodboard that will contribute to the design of my logo. Knowing the age market for my products, I will search the internet and look at other albums, tickets and point of sales stands that share the same market and learn from the designs they have displayed and include some in my own products.
This task helped me to consider the different elements I may use in advertising my products, as well as materials. It made me consider what would be appropriate and what wouldn’t and how they may affect my product and the people that will purchase my product.
Aesthetics- This is the appearance of the package and how it entices you into buying it. This package has a black background and a fairly large white font- these colour differ dramatically, thus it draws you in. There is no actual design of an object or a person, instead the packaging focuses on patterns. For each CD they have the same layout, except the colours of the stripes on the left-hand side; this allows you to tell the identical cases apart. Another aspect to consider is the fact the colours used are primary colours and the colours may also symbolise the mood or context of the music inside the package- for example, blue may represent a cool and calm style of music. Cost- The cost of the CD package differs between shops and location. A general estimate of the package would be ÂŁ12although it may decrease as time goes on. Client- The target audience for this product could range from male teenagers to young adults that have an interest in trance/electronic music. Although trance/electronic music was popular in the 90s so people from that generation may buy this product which would then stretch the market up to people in their thirties and early forties.
Environment- This product appears to have the environment in mind as the packaging has elements of thin card, plastic and paper; which can all be recycled and reused or be reclaimed materials. It is unknown if the synthetic shine on all of these elements prevent the process of recycling. Ergonomics- The compartment, in which the CDs are held, is big enough so you can get the CDs within, but not too big in case they fall out. The packaging maintains a constant theme so you can make the link between the products. Safety- The packaging, overall, seems to be safe to handle as it does not consist of any sharp edges and it is not possible to choke on the plastic. The process of making the product would have been safe too, due to the fact no harmful chemicals were included in the process ,as well as the fact it was made in a professional, orderly environment. Size- The casing is around 120mm in height by 145mm in width, in depth it is 20mm. The case varies around the size of the CDs and the contents within the case. It is important the CDs are comfortable and not too cramped in the case as that would make it difficult to place the CDs in. Function- The product is supposed to hold the CDs and any other information, such as leaflets, inside. The product ensures the protection of the items, keeping them safe from any damage. Material- The materials used are relatively light-weight but tough. Card, paper and plastic are all utilized in making this specific product.
It made me consider all the element s that manifest a product and it made me consider how I may apply this to my own product. I have also learnt how to apply “ACCEESS FM when assessing a product thoroughly.
Aesthetics- The poster contains warm colours, such as orange, red and dark blues- creating a restful feel to it. The warm colours surround a pale blue portrait of a female, defining the image by the use of colour. The girl’s features are simply drawn out of black, but her lips are shaded red and a flower is positioned at the side of her face. Instead of using block colour to depict the girl’s hair, the poster uses informative words. The words are shaped and angled around the girl's face to give the illusion of hair, but they also convey dates, locations and names. The colours and size of the words create a hierarchy, the biggest and the brightest being the most prominent and important. Discreetly at the bottom, with a thin yellow line separating it from the rest of the poster, is a number to call for ticket purchase as well as a website to visit. Cost- The manufactures would have tried to decrease the cost of making the poster in as many as possible. Thus, the poster would be made in bulks and they would all be identical. Different colours or the scale of the poster may also vary the pricing; they may also decide to make the poster waterproof.
Client- The poster almost has a 70s vibe to it, so I would presume people who grew up in that era or people who have a keen interest in it would buy this product. Environment- All posters are, generally, made out of paper – like this poster. So it is all environmentally friendly and recyclable. Although paper is made out of trees, so they may have a system to sustain the population of them by planting two more every time they cut down one. Ergonomics- The product contains bright, large illustrations making it easy to see and all the essential details are highlighted or enlarged in degree of importance. Safety- This product is completely safe as there are no sharp edges or small pieces attached. There may be a possibility of paper cuts when handling this poster, though and it would be advisable not to digest the paper as the chemicals from the print may cause harm. Size- The poster should be large enough to fit selected imagery and writing, but compact enough so it is not too big. This poster appears to have been A4 and I think this is an effective size.
Function- The sole purpose of this poster is to convey information; this includes things like, dates, band names, numbers. But to convey a message the poster must associate with the theme and attract potential customers by colours and images. Materials- This product is made by printable paper, although it may be laminated or have a shine added to it to make it more durable.
This poster made me consider the different parts that should make up my poster and it made me reflect on the different information I should include in my products to achieve high professionalism. It gave me examples for what I could do with my own product and made me consider the effect a poster may have on a person with the use of colour and design.
We could not disassemble this CD package as we do not have to facilities to do so, instead I will analyse the packaging evident to the customer. The spines of the CD package are all made up with the same width and height to ensure that the package is even and does not fall apart. The bar code is situated on the back of the CD package as it is not needed to been seen by the customers, it is solely there as a function for purchasing the product.
As you can see, this is a very attractive product and is successful in attracting potential customers. Shades of red and green are complimentary colours and they are displayed on this package, along with the defining colours black and white. Website details are used on the package so a customer can access the company if they have any quires. The lettering is quite small as it is not that much of a priority.
A nutritional section is included so customers know exactly what they are buying and what they can expect to get out of this product.
Lined folds are used to allow the product to be shaped into a box.
The songs are on the back to inform the customer what the product has to offer. The CD relies on the appearance of the front cover to entice the customers to look at the back cover.
Images are precisely sized and positioned to attract a potential customer effectively and give an insight to what the product is made up of.
A logo is placed on the package so the customer knows what business they are buying from. Also, the logo on this package is positioned so the customer can visibly see it from every angle.
This could be the band name or album name, however a CD could include both.
A bar code is positioned on the package so the product can be bought in a shop through a scanner. The bar code is especially imperative as the product cannot be purchased without it.
Plastic is used to secure the CD, it is stronger and more durable than paper to ensure the product is safe and does not get damaged.
Glue tabs are used to hold the product together. As you can see the proportion of glue used is controlled so there is no waste, which would result in a loss of money and time. No illustrations or colours are used as it would not be seen and that too would be a waste of time and money. No colour is used as it would be a waste of valuable time and money because the customers do not see this side.
The material is basic card and is shaped and sized by a die cuter. There is no need for a shine or added plastic as it will not be seen.
All the sections of the CD package have been made precisely so that they are even and that it all fits together to make a four-fold CD.
Die cuter
On this page, I learnt why companies place logos, details, barcodes and images the way they do. Furthermore, I learnt to include fold lines to shape my packaging using a die cuter. Without this slide I would have put no thought into where I placed key aspects of my product, which would have subsequently ruined the quality of my product.
This page helped me recognise all the different things I am looking for in my products and how it will make up my entire product in the end. Without this page, I would have failed to incorporate everything into my design and I may have incorporated certain details in the wrong place
I really think this mood board will provide good inspiration when creating various logo designs. There is a vast amount of colour and all the images seem to blend nicely into each other. Good job.
This slide helped me visualise how my finalized products and logo will turn out with this specific theme. It helped me generate future ideas for my product and it depicted what I wanted everything to look like. Now I can go on to pick out logo ideas from this mood board and I already have specific ideas in mind .
Primary colours Red, Blue and Yellow are the three primary colours. These colours are the base for every colour on the wheel, hence the name ‘primary’.
Red- Heat, anger, death, love, danger, blood, passion, action, confidence, courage, vitality.
Secondary colours These colours are the result of two mixed Primary colours. Orange, Purple, Green are Secondary colours.
Blue- Sky, calm, peace, cool, tranquillity, water, youth, spirituality, truth.
Tertiary colours These colours are the products of Primary colours and Secondary colours mixed together. Complementary colours These colours are known to look well together and are found opposite each other on the colour wheel. These colours make each other stand out. Harmonising colours These are colours directly next to each other on the colour wheel. These colours generally look well together in a colour scheme. The font is simplistic yet not boring. The colours are exuberant and the font reflects easily of it; this will be very effective in drawing customers in.
The harmonising colours put you in a positive frame of mind. The font also complements the colour scheme. I think this design will be effective in reaching my target audience. The exuberant colour scheme conveys a childish style and the font used does not express that much professionalism . I think this design reaches a younger audience than the one I am aiming for, therefore this would not be a suitable design. Logo examples
Black- Intimidation, death, secretive, unknown, night, nightmare, dark. White- Surrender, emptiness, ghostliness, innocence, Winter, snow, forgiveness
Green- Growth, harmony, nature, jealousy, spring, safety Purple- Royalty, magic, mystery, creativity, proud. Orange- Halloween, warmth, happiness, optimistic, Autumn, energy, fire, power. Yellow- Optimism, excitement, intellect, cowardice, Summer, hope. The pale colour scheme gives an ease of calm and so does the font, however there appears to be a few intricate designs on the font which would result in major difficulty when cutting out. Therefore this may not be an appropriate design for my product.
The overpowering colours will intimidate, rather than draw in, my target audience. The colours are, conventionally, associated with the male gender and since I am aiming for females, this colour scheme will not be appropriate. The font does not draw attention and is too intricate to ensure a good-quality design. Each colour compliment each other, however I am not fond of the dull colours. I also think the font is too complex and does not relate to the product I am trying to sell.
This slide made me realise which colours contrast well together and which colours I should avoid using in the future. The font examples gave me a clearer idea of what I wanted for my product, too. I have decided to use bold, yet elegant, fonts which I think will help reflect my product to my potential customers .

This page made me consider all the tools and materials I will use, it made me think about where and how I will use them; if I had not included this page I may have forgot to incorporate something into my product and the construction of my product may have proven difficult. There was also a possibility that if I misused the material/tool, I could have seriously injured myself or another person in my proximity, now I know how to use the material/tool safely.

Ethical- Ethical disputes can occur when a person is offended by the content of a product, whether this coincides with subjects like religious beliefs, ethics or sexuality. It is imperative that a product is not at risk for being sued, which would then lead to a bad reputation which would result in a lack of sales. My product should not include swear words or offensive language, logos or icons that link with offensive topics, religious icons or exploit sexuality. The manufacture of the product is also an area where ethical issues may arise, this maybe due to the pay the employees receive or the environment they are forced to work in. Environmental- There are many factors to consider when dealing with environmental issues. You have to consider the extraction or refining of raw materials, the manufacture of the product and the disposal of these materials. All these factors contribute to the issues of not looking after the environment and my product will, inevitably, relate to all these issues, but I will refrain from wasting valuable materials.
Fair-trade-It is an organisation set up to assist developing countries receive fair trading conditions. If I included this, it would give my product a good reputation and expand my audience meaning more profit will be made. Sustainable- This is basically using the materials today but also conserving them for future use as well. This concerns my product if it is produced in mass production and the consumption of paper and card intensifies; the only may to resolve this is to plant another tree every time we cut one down. Recycling- This is processing used materials to convert them into new products; this prevents waste, reduces landfill mass, preserves resources, protects wildlife and helps the economy. I will ensure the paper used for my product is recyclable and will always put waste materials in the recycling bin.
Wastage- For my product, I will insure that I waste as little as possible, making sure I do not waste space or material. For example, when cutting out a shape from paper, I will start from the edge and not the centre to waste as little paper as possible. Carbon Footprint- The amount of carbon dioxide emitted due to the consumption of fossil fuels is measured by a Carbon Footprint, for my product I will try to keep my Carbon Footprint as minimal as possible. Green designs- It is something that considers environmental and sustainable issues as it makes use of unused energy sources, for example: solar panels. Reclaimed materials- These are materials that been previously recycled and made into something else to help preserve the environment. I will try to use as much reclaimed materials in the production of my product and will then continue the process by making sure my waste materials will be then turned into reclaimed materials. This slide made me consider all the ethical values I should include and the positive effect it will have on my product, for example: using fair trade will give my product a good reputation which will therefore compel customers to buy my product. It taught me that companies need to consider all these different aspects to make sure they are not crossing any law or ignoring people’s values which may then corrupt the sale of their product.
Function- Should hold CDs securely and neatly as well as being aesthetically pleasing. Cost- My product must be a reasonable price for my target audience but also bring in a profit for the band, therefore it will be around ÂŁ9. Though the cost of making will be around ÂŁ3.
Weight and Size- My product should be easy to carry, therefore it needs to be lightweight. The casing will be around 120mm in height, by 145mm in width and in depth it will be 20mm.
Durability- The product must maintain its shape over a long period time and the colouring of my product must not fade. My target audience has a long life ahead of them and my product must last along with them.
Time- I want to have completed all of my designs by Spring 2014.
Target audience- My audience will be from teenagers to young adults, so preferably around 13-25. My aesthetics will ensure that this audience is attracted to my product.
Aesthetics- I will have to ensure that my design is unique and specified to the band. It also has to be relevant to genre of music the band produces, since their genre of music is pop, I will have to use exuberant colours to depict that.
Quantity- Usually, the product would be made in bulk, however since this is only a one-off thing, I will only be producing one.
Ergonomics-The compartment on the Point of Sales Stand, in which the CD case is held, must be big enough to hold the CD case, but not too big as will just flop and not hold upright. The packaging must maintain a constant theme so you can make a link between the products.
Materials-Paper and cardboard suit the design specification of my product; they are durable and allow me to deign on them easily.
Testing- The product must be certain of high standard , therefore it is imperative that it is tested in case there are any faults that the customers can complain about. I will do a trial run over a certain period of time to see how it withstands.
Safety- There should be no sharp edges that could cause injury or small additional materials that could be swallowed. The product does not want to be at risk of being sued or generating a bad reputation.
Environmental issues-My products will be manufactured with recycled materials, it will be able to obtain recyclable materials as they are in high demand. If I cannot use reclaimed materials then I will insure that they can at least be recycled and turned into reclaimed materials. This slide assisted me in finally grouping together all the elements that will make up my product and helped me visualise how product will end up in the future.
This page helped me reach a decision for which three logos I would be go on to design and alter further. It narrowed down why I liked certain designs and what I thought should change which inspired me to do further
This design has been made more interesting by the addition of different colours which are a mixture of primary and secondary. I have tried to position them in a complimentary manner and by doing this I hope to make my logo more attractive as well as effective in drawing in my customers. The font is simple, yet it possess a fun and pleasant element to it. All together, I think this is a good logo, although it could be improved.
Again, I have used the technique of placing complimentary colours, in this case pink and green, to draw in my potential customers. I think this logo is unique in the sense that no other band has something like this and I also believe it may have a hidden inspirational meaning to it, which will make it more compelling and successful, However, I think for this logo to be used, I will have to design as well as change some aspects of it to make it more fitting for my band.
Out of all the potential logos, this is my least favourite one. Reasons being I think the designs within the glass are far too intricate and there is no organisation with the colour scheme. Also, if I were to play with the logo and add extra designs, it would just become too complicated. The style of the text does not correspond with my band so it may be confusing to my potential customers. For these reasons, I will not be using this logo.
This is one of my favourite designs as I believe it has a lot of potential in the future when I am adding and improving it. There is a range of different possibilities I could do to this logo, such as design in either the lips or tongue. The font would definitely be changed as I think it is too hard to see and too thin. It is fun and simple which is exactly what I am looking for in a logo and I think it will be effective on my main pieces( album, point of sales stand and ticket), therefore this is a strong contender.
Although this may have the potential to be a suitable, effective logo, I am at loss at what further improvements I could add to it. In this design, I do like the different positions of the lettering as I think it is distinctive and clever, however I do not like the design in the peace sign. This is because I think it is a bit too bold and thus off-putting. What the peace sign represents (peace and tranquillity) is a positive factor to the logo and could give potential customers an insight as to what type of music the band has created.
I am not too keen on the outline of this logo as it has no link towards the concept of my band which will be confusing and offputting to my customers. I suppose the colours used are effective as they all follow a blue-like colour scheme and they are arranged in in an orderly, thought out manner. The font is okay, however to improve I would have to thicken it and make it more bolder to make it easier to see. Overall, this logo is acceptable but not really what I'm looking for.
1) I like the idea of this design and it’s interesting to see the rubix-cube gradually getting solved and the gradual decrease in size. The colours used suit a general age and gender market, which will give the band a wider market. The font, however, is too thin and hard to see which makes lessens the professionalism of the logo. However, I do like the positioning of the font.
4) I do not think there are any negative aspects to this logo. The font used is centred and is not complicated by any further designs so it is easy to read and appears professional. I like the fact that it seems like the rubix-cubes are exploding out from the title; I sized them all differently to add effect. So, overall, this is a good design.
2) Using the ‘warp’ function, I gave this design a more 3D effect which I am fond of and I like the diagonal slant in which the three rubix-cubes are placed. Since I thought the decreasing in size of the cubes was effective in the last design, I used in it in this one, too, and the colour scheme and arrangement has not changed either. I drew tiny starlike images around the cubes to add more detail to the design, however they are hard to see so they go unnoticed thus there is no real point to them. The font used, despite the fact that it is bold so easy to see, ruins the logo. I warped it so it would look like it flowed onto each individual cube, but the finalised image just looks complex and takes too much effort to read.
5) In this design, I think the way the cube is reflected is cool and attractive, it would be proficient in making my finalized product look professional, moreover the light beam in the left point of the cube gives extra detail to the logo. The font emulates the one used in the previous design, therefore I like it and I am happy where it is placed on my logo. Although, the colour scheme is too bland , serious and bleak for my liking and does correspond with the imagery I am trying to convey to my potential customers.
3) I like the idea of the logo in which there is one cube slowly tipping off the other two cubes and how the font seems to be tipping with it- so the format is good. Unfortunately, I do not like the colour scheme, it is a bit too girl and childish for the band’s target market. The colouring and style of the font is furthermore too comical for the type of customers the products are hoping to be bought by. On the whole, I like the placement of the designs, just not the added colouring.
6) This logo is very similar to the previous logo as it includes the cube reflective shadow (although it is placed different at the side) and the light beam in the left point. However, as the lack of colour was the main issue of the last logo, I have illuminated the black colours and I have replaced them with red, green, yellow, white and blue- now making my logo attractive to my potential customers. But there is one issue with this design and that is the sizing of the font. It is too small to see which puts you off.
This slide will help me decide which logo I should use on my future finalised products as it displays all the advantages and disadvantage to them and the impact they will have on the purchasing of my product. I realised what I liked and what I disliked and has also gave me an understanding of what I want my products to look like. To add to that, it has also given me ideas for my other logo developments.
These ideas are very original and creative, I think you have really tried to vary your different designs which allow to see what works and what doesn’t. Personally, I like the fourth and sixth one, they are colourful as well as interesting and they are the sole purposes of a logo..It’s a shame the font of the second design ruined the logo, if another font were to be used, I think it would have been a effective logo.
7) I think the Aztec design and colours that it consists of contrast well with the deep shade of pink that is used fro the tongue. I especially love the shading I have done to the tongue as it makes it appear more realistic and professional. The vibrant colours make the logo more eye-catching and appealing, it conveys the theme of the product and band quite well, too. However, I fear that it does not look professional enough and it looks more like a drawing, which could ruin the authenticity of my final products.
10) By fading the image inside the lips, it gives the design more effect, yet it still has that simplicity I am aiming forhowever I wish I had made the tongue have a deeper shade of pink to create a bigger contrast between the lips which would then make the logo more bolder, thus eye-catching. Again, I think the shading is respectable and has been made more noticeable with the shade I have chosen. I like the positioning of the title as it looks like it is a speech-bubble and the mouth is actually saying it.
8) I do like the nautical theme this design consists of, it brings about an ease of calm but also exuberance. The two different patterns (stripes on the lips and patterns on the tongue) makes the logo more interesting and the different shades add to that as well. The way the title is apart of the structure of the tongue is also creative and the colour brown differs from the blue colour scheme which makes it more noticeable. I do not think there are any bad aspects to this logo, although it may be too beach-like.
9) Out of all the designs, this is my least favourite one. This is due to the fact that it has no relevance to the theme that I am trying to convey to my potential customers and the colouring is too complicated, which I believe would ruin the realism to my final products. To add to that, the title consists of the same colouring of the lips which, if it wasn't for the large font, would make it difficult to read. Although, I do like the way the lips are slanted diagonally and how they begin the decrease in size- taken inspiration from my rubix-cube design. The needle and thread gives the idea that the title has been sewn on which is creative, but irrelevant to my theme.
11) The colours of the lips and the tongue purposefully all correspond with each other when observing in a clockwise direction and they are also very bright which will attract the customers. I also like the positioning and numbering of the lips as they surround the title, I think this is extremely unique and would be proficient in making my finalized product look professional. The font used is bold, so it is easy to see, but simple which makes me like this design even more.
12) This design uses the same placement and numbering of mouths like the previous logo, but the colouring of the lips and positioning of the title differs dramatically. Each individual mouth has the same style writing but in different rotations depending which side the mouth is at. I do not like this as it makes the logo look too complex and confusing, especially when one of the titles is upside down. I do like how each opposite mouth had the same colour scheme, though.
Again, you show creativity with your designs and I appreciate how you have learnt from your previous slide and have incorporated some of those ideas. Into these ones. On this slide, I particularly like design 8 and 11. 8 is very original and the colours correspond well together, furthermore, 11’s use of colour works well and I can tell you worked from the colour theory page.
13) In this design , for the largest, centred person I used the darkest colour (red) to represent its domination over the other two smaller people. The two smaller people share the colours orange and yellow, but the colours are placed differently between the two people, to make it appear like they are linked. I have incorporated a different star than the one I drew out in the first place just because this one had more detail and I felt it worked better with this design. I think the text is okay, but I could have chosen a better one with thicker font to make it easier to see. Also, near the end of the word, the text was warped to make it appear like it was slowly drifting upwards; looking at the design now, I can see that it is not that noticeable so it just looks out of place and not that good.
16) I made this design look like it was in 3D by duplicating the person again two more times and placing them behind the first layer. I also added to the design by making each person get lighter in colour (going from red to orange then yellow), which I hoped would give it more effect. I have also used this technique with the star, however, I reversed the colour placement by making it go from light (yellow) to dark (red). These attributes of the design really pleased me. The writing did not, though. It may be a creative idea, splitting the word in half and placing each fragment on each arm, but I do not think it works as the second part of the word is smaller and in a different place then the first one.
14) From looking at other logos, I noticed some of the professional ones had a metallic tone to them so I decided to use that in my own design just to see if it would work or not . However, although it looks alright, I do not think this is a suitable design for my logo as it does not convey the theme of my band. I do like the shading of the silver in the person as it makes it look more 3D, but I wish I had chosen a different- more vibrant- colour. I like how there is a bright star in each corner of the person just because it makes the logo more eye-catching. The font of the text is what bother me the most,, however. It is too childish and complicated for my band.
15) I love the positioning of the people as they surround one bright star and the band name. This design has a unique twist to it as there are four people consisting of the same size and colouring, however, between the four people, there are four other people- identical in design, but differing in size and colour. For this individuality, I especially like this design. The colour is bright and bold and I think that will draw customers in. For an improvement, I could have made the font larger to make it clearer to see, but I suppose it is alright.
17) This design consists of different shades of silver and each shade has its own different texture- this aspect I like. I also like how I used the burn tool to give this logo a more grungy, rough edge to it. Unfortunately these are the only features I like in this design. If I did not have my band/theme in mind, I would believe this to be a good logo, however it does not correspond with the imagery I am trying to convey to my potential customers and would only serve to confuse them. The text used in positioned well and I do like the way it looks like it is someone’s handwriting and not just print; I feel like it gives a more personal edge to the design. Only I am unsure whether this aspect weakens the level of professionalism I am aiming for.
This slide will help me decide which logo I should use on my future finalised products as it displays all the advantages and disadvantage to them and the impact they will have on the purchasing of my product. I realised what I liked and what I disliked and has also gave me an understanding of what I want my products to look like. Now I can look back at my other designs and pick out the more favourable logos out of each page.
These designs are quite different from the last ones, they also consist of bright, bold colours 18) For this design, I decided to use pastel tones for my that will effectively colouring except, now looking at the finalized image, I attract a customer. think it comes across a bit too girly for my liking. I like how My favourite is I applied a texture to the body of the person instead of just number 15 as it is having a standard block colour, I think it makes the design different and eyemore interesting and appealing. Moreover, the text is catching. I do not exactly what I am looking for : simple, bold and like number 18, professional. To alter the format of this design from the unfortunately, I original one, I decided to duplicate the original star think it is too bland multiply times then place them all underneath the person, and the colours are which was creative yet constant in being simple. Overall, too girly for my this is a good design, but the colour scheme dwindles it. liking.

I think you have really considered all your possible options well and you have decisively picked out your favourite six logos to ensure that you will be left with the best logo in the end. It is tactical to list out the main features and rate them to compare against each other, I think it helps narrow down your options and let you decide which one is best in a mindful way. I think your final choice of logo is great; on the previous side you failed to pick out any negative aspects to logo six which was a promising sign from the start.
I have decided to use logo 4. It scored the second most points (37) in my evaluation and when analyzing this design, I found no negative aspects to it, therefore I think this will be a suitable logo for my products. On this slide I learnt that, in order to make the best overall decision, you must evaluate all aspects to the design then make a levelled verdict on that basis. This slide made me stand back and make a choice on which logo I would want. Without this page, I may have picked a logo that wasn’t exactly to the best quality, which may have weakened the quality of my final product.
Poster •Band name so the customer knows which artist they are buying from. • Colour scheme and theme which relates with the other products •Price of album •Band logo •Dates of upcoming events that relate to the band and album •Locations of gigs •Songs from album •International logos (recycle logo)
CD case •Band name- it has to be clear and easy to read. •Band logo- it has to be evident that this is in fact a logo and not just a random design •Songs on the back •Bar code so the item can be purchased •International logos (recycle logo) •CD pouches to ensure that the CD is safe and secure.
Ticket •Band name •Band logo •Bar code •Hologram •Date of gig •Time of gig to prevent the customer from missing it •Location of gig •Seating area to organise the customers and to inform •Price •Relating colour scheme and theme
Point of Sales stand •Band name •Logo • Appropriate space to fit the CD case in. It must not be too tight of space, which would make it difficult to take out the case- or too large, which would give the CD no standing support. •Relating colour scheme and theme
On this slide, I noted all the essential criteria for each different aspect for my project. This will definitely help me in the future when it comes to actually designing these objects; I will refer back to this page to make sure I have not forgot something important in my design
On this slide, I am finally generating ideas toward my final piece. I am taking all the ideas out of my head and noting and observing them to imagine what they would look like if I were to make them. I am also pitching together the drawbacks and deciding how I would overcome them if I were to make that specific design.
1 2 By adding two extra parts to my four-fold CD, I will create pockets for my CDs instead of just providing a plastic holder for them to be secure in. This makes my design more unique and essentially more memorable to the public, making it more likely for them to buy my product. However, the two pouches are too close together and they will be right next to each other when everything is glued- it would be too tight and chunky if I left it like that, so I would have to add another section between them to act as a buffer.
As it has been drawn out, the CDs will not be held on the fourfold foundation, they will instead rest on the outside and will be folded inwards to rest on the sections that note the songs included on their specific CD. If I were to create this, I would have to add more backing to the pieces that hold the CDs so they could hold the weight and not tear.
3 4 On the second section, there will be a gap cut out and filled with transparent plastic in proportion to the title on the previous section, so when it is all folded together, you will see the title, ‘Compass’, through the gap. The triangular structure serves the same purpose as the first design where the section is folded over and glued to create a pouch for the CD to rest in.
5
Taking inspiration from the last design, this design consists on the same triangular structures that will hold the CDs in, however they are facing in different directions just to add a slight quirk to the design. There is also another transparent gap on the second section so as to see the first, although I have made it a lot larger so you can see the whole first section, therefore the second section simply works as a border to the first.
This design is rather simple, this due to the fact that the only significant thing about it is that there are two triangular structures that fall down onto the CDs to act as a curtain. This links with the idea of a stage, in which curtains would be drawn and closed to mark the beginning and ending of a performance, much like taking out these CDs and listening to them and then putting them back when you have finished listening t them.

On this slide I was finally able to pull ideas together for my actual CD case; many ideas for my finalized piece came across and I was able to see first-hand what looked good and what did not. I also developed some helpful techniques in the process of making these templates, for instance, when bending the folds with the craft knife, I will use the back of the blade to ensure that I don't actually cut into the fold. I now know what can go wrong when constructing my CD case, so I will now be able to avoid these.

Looking between your first and third design I really think you have developed; you have learnt from your mistakes and proceeded to make great progress. I can’t wait to see what your final design is like and what you have incorporated into it from these CD cases.

1) This being my first try, the quality is rather poor and the measurements are inaccurate. This design is simply a four-fold CD case with no added features or designs; it was just created for practise and to get an idea of what I will be doing as well as inspire new ideas from seeing what I could do first-hand.

2) This design is a lot more developed in design and a lot more interesting. I decided to cut out a rectangle from the first sections so that the design on the section resting below would be seen through it. I also made the CD holder more interesting by including a triangle pocket for it to rest in. However I am worried about the quality of my work if I carried this design forward; I would have to ensure that my title was an exact fit in the rectangle, and to add to that, I would have to be very careful whilst cutting out the rectangle to make sure everything is even and I don't cut something accidently, like I did with this model (I accidently cut into the spine.) Also, during the construction of this net, I was too ruff with my front cover and it ripped off so I had to sellotape it back on. In the future I will have to be more careful.

3) This design is completely fresh and original, taking inspiration from design 2 with the pockets. I decided to put a section in-between the two pockets in order to make my design more neat and not as crammed as it would have been if two CDs were piled on top of each other. The quality of my design has considerably improved as I have learnt from my previous design to be less ruff and take patience in cutting out with a craft knife. Although the sizing of the pocket that folds down needs to be longer, I accidently included the glue tab within the section. I will make sure not to repeat this in my final design. Overall, I really like this design and I think I will carry forward some aspects into my finalized CD case.
On this slide, I learnt how creating a smaller-scale model of my final design will help me see first-hand if things will work out and how it will all come together. I learnt that you can conjure up a design in your head, but it may not fit together like you want it to in reality, therefore it is important that you make a model.

This is my favourite net design, I think it has very interesting qualities yet still maintains the simplicity that makes things look professional and appealing. I took inspiration from net 3 the most, making sure to make the acquired adjustments to make it as good as it can be and to ensure that everything will fold properly. The semicircle is there to make it easier to grasp onto the CD inside the pouch. I now know what measurements I need from the previous mistakes I made with my practise attempts, so they are now very accurate and my CD case should fold together nicely.
Poster First of all, I took an image from the internet , I edited it into an artistic format called, ‘Poster Edges’, then adjusting the edge thickness and intensity to suit my preference- this effect is now a recurring theme throughout my work and acts a signature look for Compass. Following that, I used a font from Dafont called ‘Caramella’ for my band name (which is now a consistent font used in my designs to maintain a theme), through using the paint bucket, I edited the colours to match those of the two beach houses that I had cropped to make my design a bit more simple. However the most significant aspect of the band name is the edition of part of my logo into the letter ‘O’. I then added my logo to the top of the page and dropped its opacity to 46%. I then added general information such as tour dates and locations and suitable business logos that would likely sponsor my band. Point of Sales Stand I decided to make my point of sales stand rather simple so as to not draw too much attention from my other designs and also solely because its only purpose is to hold up my album case. To maintain Compass’s theme, I simply extracted one of the beach houses from my poster and I will then cut around the roof to make it more unique than just having it rectangular. I added no information or dates to it, and to create a pouch for the CD, I will simply copy the image again and place it over it to make the design look 3D.
I think these designs are really good. I especially like the way you have maintained a strong theme between the Point of sales stand and the poster. You can tell you have put in a lot of effort to these designs and it all looks very professional. Well done.
On this slide, I learnt the importance of maintaining a theme between all my designs. It had never been a conscious thought up until this point, I had paid no mind to it, however I soon learned that by transferring an artistic effect or design to my other pieces is very effective and steps the quality of my work up. Also, I learnt how to use the artistic features provided by Photoshop and managed to include them into my work.
On this slide, I learned hoe to maintain the overall identity of my band, I learnt how to vary my designs, yet still keep within the territory off my theme to keep my designs interesting and pleasing to look at.
Flyer- Front First of all, I took an image from the internet, again I then edited it into the artistic format called, ‘Poster Edges’, then I adjusted the edge thickness and intensity to suit my preference like I did with the beach houses in the poster. Since my designs are formatted around a beach theme, I decided to incorporate the blue background from the poster and took an image of sand from the internet. I edited the sand with the format ‘Poster Edges’ to link it with my theme, then, using the burn tool, I burned around the legs of the chair to give the design more detail and effect. I incorporated the band title again with additional information, like a location and date. I like the reoccurring beach chair, it’s fun and creative as well as a constant theme throughout your work.
Flyer- Back For the back of the leaflet, I duplicated the first slide to continue the sand and blue sky, however I purposely only added the logo on this side and enlarged it in the centre as this side is not that important, therefore it would be a waste of ink to do something intricate and detailed. The only additional information I included were internet and telephone details; also featuring social website logos.
CD In order to maintain the band’s theme and not wanting the CD to be too complicated in design; I simply extrapolated the edited image of the chair from the leaflet and incorporated into my design. Though to create a sense of difference, I did alter the size of the chair, making it quite large and centred contrary to the leaflet, where it was normal in size. Then I simply added the logo and numbered the CDs, ensuring that both CDs were identical in placement, though differed in colour and number so as to make it easy for the customer to distinguish which CD is which.
On this slide, I learnt how to configure my design together and make all the sections correspond when I go to close the CD case. This took a lot of consideration and I developed a deeper understanding of how my designs are coming together and what I am actually making.
Again, the theme is evident in this piece. You have incorporated features from your other designs, however the addition of the birds is new and makes it all the more interesting.
Outside I took inspiration from my leaflet design for the background of my CD case; I simply copied the sand and blue background from it and pasted it onto my entre album case. I made sure that when the CD case was opened up, the sections of it would all fit together and the sand images would correspond with each other and make it look like it was just one big beach. Again I took inspiration from one of my other designs, though this time I copied the row of beach houses from my ticket and pasted it along the front of my CD case. I then added what was expected from a CD, for example the band name, bar code, music company logos, names of songs, logo. But I found my deign was still a bit too vacant for my liking, this is when I came up with the idea of the bird taking off into flight and flying off into the distance across the front and back of my CD case. I think this feature is very interesting as this idea has not been placed onto any other of my designs, giving the album its uniqueness, however it does not stray from my original idea. Inside Since most of the inside sections will not be seen by the customer due to the pockets I will create to hold my CD, I did not have that much designing to do on the inside since it would just be a waste of ink. All I had to do was copy the sand and blue background. Though to make the design more interesting, I added the beach chair into my design once again.
Ticket Front First of all, I pasted on the necessary borders and colours, providing myself a canvas to design on that will be instantly recognisable as belonging to Compass. Then, I added information, such as dates, times and names that I had learnt from my design research were vital when producing a professional looking ticket. In relation to using design research to ensure my quality of work is at its best, I added a vertical-dashed line, with a barcode and ticket details inside of it, to make it look like it could be ripped off by a concierge, and used to register the customer’s details. The most significant design feature on this ticket are the miniature beach houses lined along the bottom of it. Thinking the ticket was too bland, I decided I would copy the image of the beach houses from my poster, however I realised that only having one, big image still left a lot of boring space so I decided to reduce their size and spread them. I am very happy with the overall outcome of this design.
On this slide, I learnt that in order to stick two pieces together, I had to make some features go on opposite sides so they join with the other side when finished. I had not fully realised that this thinking would be needed until I first-hand started the task of creating the design.
Ticket Back
The back was a lot simpler than the front of the ticket. Although I did have to make sure that I kept in mind that the vertical-dashed line on the back had to be reverse to the front so when the two pieces were glued together, they would be opposite each other and in the same place. Firstly, I simply copied the border and background colour from the front, then I searched the internet to find written terms and conditions that I could use on my ticket and subsequently placed a map of the concert stadium so the customer will know a direct route to their seat and maintain order. Finally, I pasted on the logos of Compass’s sponsors from my poster.
You have included all the valuable details that are needed in producing a ticket; everything is correlated well and put in positions and sizes that are appropriate for its purpose. Nothing has been missed out and the addition of the small beach houses is an unique feature.
On this slide, I leant what nesting was and how this benefits the industrial world. I discovered that by nesting your designs, you save money by not wasting paper and it also benefits the environment.
When grouping all my designs to print, I had to nest my products. I did this to avoid having a lot of empty white space, which would be a waste of paper and would be bad for the environment and would not be cost efficient. This is called Tessellation. I also had to ensure that my nest and the designs on it were set at 15 pixels per inch, this was to make sure my design were at a suitable size for printing. Overall, I am pleased with my overall products and I believe they all follow a constant theme, which would enable a person to congregate all the designs together if they were to be separated.
I will duplicate the bottom of the point of sales stand design to create the pouch that will hold my CD case. By simply coping and pasting the same image, it will make my point of sales stand appear 3D.
It is good that you nested all your designs and recognised why it was necessary to do this as a means of saving money as well as maintaining the environment. Being able to finally see all the designs together, I can see that you have designed something really good.
To enhance the quality of my work, I incorporated the idea of embossing into my design. In my case, I will be using vinyl, though is it possible to do it on paper, cloth or some types of metal. By using CAM (computer aided design), I can accurately create a design, which is easy to adjust and alter when needed. Using CAD (computer aided manufacture) means someone can mass produce a design easily and precisely, in addition less manually labour is required , which means saving money and time. Advantages • In large-scale production, the results are consistent • Enables high accuracy • Speeds up production of low-volume products Disadvantages • Expensive • Slower than traditional methods for low-volume products • Staff need to be trained on how to use software.
Smart materials are materials that change due to external, environmental stimuli. For example, there are materials that absorb the surrounding light then emit it back, giving the effect of it glowing in the dark. These materials could be used in industry to produce clothing, promotional material or many other things.
I had not know what CADCAM was up until this point and have never before used 2D design, so this part of the project allowed me to fully understand what it all how. How to use it, how to make it benefit my design and the advantages and disadvantages of it. I also learnt what smart materials are and what modern materials are.
To enhance my work, I have decided to emboss my CD case, to make my design more interesting than just leaving it a blank canvas . This is a simple idea and it was easy to manipulate on 2d design since all I was doing was drawing out rectangles, however it will work well in making my work appear more developed. The vinyl I will use will consist of the same two colours of the beach houses (green and purple), I feel like the these colour will relate well the design and if I were to use any other colour scheme, it would just look out of place.
To incorporate a modern material into my design, I will place a hologram onto my ticket. By doing this, the ticket will look more authentic and professional looking. You also include holograms to prevent fraud, it is a unique feature that cannot be coped, thus prevents people from producing fakes and getting away with it.
I have also cased my ticket in a sheet of transparent plastic. I did this to provide a protective shield over my ticket to prevent damage since paper is rather fragile, and it also enhances the appearance of my product to make it look more professional.
I finally learned how to produce a quality control flowchart. I am now able to give a clear explanation on what I did to produce my product. Do all designs correspond and are of good quality?

This slide has helped me work out how to organise my manufactory. It has shown me that organisation is key in regards to producing a product and keeping record of its progress and making is key.
I have learnt that I have followed my design brief throughout the making of my product. I have followed all the key aspects I set myself and I now realise how well I've actually followed my guidelines .
Customer. Within my brief, I stated that my designs would be mainly aimed at the youngadult female market, and with the use of vibrant colours that lean towards the stereotypical tastes of those of the female gender, I have managed to maintain one of my aims from the Design Brief. By focusing on only UK venues for my poster and flyer, I have ensured that my band is advertised within the UK. In addition, I purposefully picked venues held within populated areas which I had originally aimed for in my Design Brief so I could purposefully target my specific market. I also ensured that my products were set at a suitable price range as my target market is quite young and it is highly unlikely that they have yet reached a point in their life where they can frequently spend money on leisure items, such as this CD package, without relying on someone, like their parents. Design Brief I have obediently followed through with the instructions set by the Design Brief; I have successfully designed and manufactured a CD case, Flyer, Poster, Point of Sales Stand and covers to go over the CDs. I have incorporated a modern material, a hologram, which is an unique aspect that prevents fraud through making fake copies of a product. By including this, I have added to the realism of my products. In addition, I also included vinyl that is spread along the frame of a door belonging to one of the beach houses. My designs contain all the relevant information necessary in order to emulate a professional band release, therefore I made sure to research the types of things I should include, such as dates, logos and other details along those lines. I tried to manufacture a high quality design- by doing this it maintains its function and remains aesthetically pleasing, and I think I have also achieved this by using correct measurement as well as handling my designs wit a lot of care in the making process.
I have followed the guidelines I set myself really well and my products are all to a sufficient standard.
Environmental issues- My design was mostly built up out Target audience-I think I of paper and card, these materials can be recycled soon after my products have reached past their usefulness. I have met my target ensured that I did not waste any material and placed scrap market through the aesthetics of my designs. pieces of paper on a pile to be used again. It is apparent through my designs and colour scheme that the audience for the album has narrowed towards the female gender type; this is good as I had specified this in the beginning. I have also managed to keep within the age bracket of 13-25, this as a result of avoiding too childish fonts and images, the same going for avoiding too mature qualities that would age my target market. The font I used was uni-sex as I did not want to alienate my female target market and make the products too distinct fully girly, which could prove to deter some of the customers. Time- I also wanted my product to be completed by spring 2014, I have accomplished this. Cost- The overall cost in making these products was minimal and around the price I estimated at ÂŁ3. This mostly due to the cost of paper.
Size- I maintained the measurements for the sizing of my CD case and it proved to be an overall effective size that had the strength the carry my CDs, yet was still lightweight and simple.
Safety- The products are all very safe, there are no sharp edges or edible small pieces that could result in fatal injury to the customer. Therefore I kept my promise within the Design Specification.
Materials- I followed the specification and only used paper and cardboard for my designs materials. They are easy to manipulate and consist of the strengths I needed for my products.
Aesthetics- I have managed the use an appropriate colour scheme to depict the feel of the band and also set a mood for the album, which I originally set out to do. Although my font was not taken from my Typography page, the examples did prove to give me an idea of what I wanted for my band and thus I chose a design that was very similar to those on the page. Ergonomics- Thankfully, everything that I designed withheld its purpose. For instance, the CD case was of the right size so it could fit my actual CDs inside of it, also, the pouch on the Point of Sales Stand was of the correct size and depth to hold my CD case. Function- I have succeeded in maintaining my CDs function whilst keeping it aesthetically pleasing.
Testing- I did test my products, although not as thoroughly as I initially suggested since it was unneeded and I had other things to complete instead.
I have asked a few people to give me their honest opinion on my overall product, in order to complete the process of evaluation. Positive and negative aspects were brought to light, and by doing this, I will be able to deduce whether or not I have successfully followed my customer profile without my own bias. I love Cara’s designs, it is apparent that they all belong together in a packaged set. The colours incorporated are extremely attractive and will serve to draw in customers with its bold, distinct qualities. The nest designs are unique, I especially like the reoccurring presence of the beach chair. There seems to be a few clicks on the overall products and there are stains from the glue she used, so if she were to do this again I would advise her to avoid doing these things again.
Sofina I really like the beach theme- there are not many of those around so it creates a sense of exclusivity in regards to other designs. Everything had been put together nicely and the colour scheme works well with everything else on the album, like the fonts and images. Measurements appear to be correct and everything fits where it should, although there is a bit of wear on the CDs that could have been a result of accidental damage through the construction process. Overall, everything is great.
On this slide, I learnt of other people’s opinions and not just my own. My opinion of my product will be biased so it is good to get a truer opinion of my product by those whom will not have any emotional attachment to it in order to deduce whether the overall product up to standard or not.
Kirsty I think that Cara’s net designs are eye-catching and very attractive. Everything matches together, yet the individual designs are still different in contrast to each other in order to keep things interesting and aesthetically pleasing. The illustrations are unique as I haven’t seen something quite like it before. To add to that, the strength of the finished products is amazing, everything has been put together nicely to avoid damage. Good job, though to improve I would make your CD case more sturdy next time- maybe back it with more white card.

There are many modifications that I would like to make to my work; some of these errors were to due to my own faults, however some due to factors out of my own control and could not have been prevented. First of all, some of my designs were not cut out as precisely as I would have liked, I should have taken more time whilst cutting them out with a craft knife. This would have prevented any annoying white edges that are now impossible to remove without taking off some of my design as well. Furthermore, I would have also taken more care in the gluing process of my design. I would have double checked that my two pieces of designs (the front and back of my flyer and ticket) were aligned in favour of each other and so one would not overlap the other to reveal white edges. Also I would have made sure not to get glue all over my work space as it became increasingly hard to avoid the gluey surface that could damage my work whilst making. I also wish I could have made my logo more distinct on my designs; I struggled with the addition of my logo whilst designing my products on Photoshop, it looked so out of place wherever I put it, therefore I resorted to fading its resolution to make it blend in more and less noticeable. It was regrettably the only solution I could find and I wish I could have found a better place to put it. Finally I wish I could improve on the back of my flyer, as it comes off a bit rushed as the text looks out of place and boring in comparison to the others I have used- in addition, I could have spent more time arranging the social networking logos to make them more aesthetically pleasing.
Commercial production Commercial production is the design and manufacture of a product that will then be sold commercially onto the wide market and made more than once. One-off production One-off production is when only one of the product is made. It requires intensive labour because every product is different. My work can be classified under this sort of production as I have only made one product with my own hands , and if I were to produce another one, it would not be identical to the previous one before it, due to human error or just a random occurrence. Batch production Batch production is of a smaller scale and only a set quantity is produced. The manufacture of the product is completed in stages, instead of a continuous flow but usually templates are used to aid production as well as some specified machinery. Bakeries and Newspaper industries, for example, use this technique of production. Mass production Mass production is when a very large number of the product is made, usually on a production line. The product changes regularly so production cannot be continuous. Assembly lines are generally used to aid in manufacture, therefore all the products that are produced are identical to one another, for example car manufactures and Newspaper industries use mass production. This slide helped me finally understand what commercial production is, and also the sub parts of commercial production- bulk production and mass production. I now have a larger understanding of the manufacture of products. This slide also made me reflect on the negative aspects to my work, not just the positive ones. I came to realise what I would improve as well as how I would come about this. This is useful knowledge if I were to try to produce my products again.
On this slide, I am displaying the physical process of my manufacture. The evidence of the tools I used are present and you can see some of the techniques I used whilst yielding them.
The beginning of my make entitled me roughly cutting out my designs from my net with scissors.
I then discarded the white edges with a craft knife and metal ruler.
To increase the durability of my pieces, I backed them with card. First of all, I glued the backs of my designs, evenly spreading it to avoid lumps and creases, then I carefully applied it onto the card and smoothed it out. I could then cut it out with the plotter cutter. By doing this, I have made my work stronger and more professional looking.
From that, I went on to making the pouch for my Point of Sales stand as well as the stand that would keep it upright. I used the template to create the net of my pouch, however I adjusted the measurements to suit my own CD case as it was too tight of a fit beforehand. Once that was completed, I applied my design over the pouch then used the glue gun to stick it all together and onto the Point of Sales stand. I also used the glue gun when sticking together the stand.
To increase the durability of my CD case, I had to apply white card to the inside of my CD case. To do this I had to measure the width and length of the spines and the separate sections, though I had to make the white card pieces a bit smaller than these measurements to stop them from overlapping when it was all stuck on. I also had to bend the folding lines and glue the glue tabs to create a space to apply the CDs.
I cut a circle out of this to create my hologram which I would stick onto my ticket.
