Announcing our LtG! Citizens of Giraffia: The results of the Region 13 Conclave are in, and Amy He, current executive assistant of Division 15, has been elected the Lieutenant Governor for the 20132014 term. With her platform of "HEART" (Helping Everyone Achieves Results Together), heavy focus on preparing for realignment, and experience as the president of Chino Hills High School, we know that she'll be prepared to lead D15 into another successful year.
Awards & Recognition Hey Giraffes, the February 8 deadline for district awards and submissions is fast approaching! Here's just another reminder to *not* procrastinate and get the awards you deserve! Remember, this is your opportunity to take the stage at District Convention. Whether you're a club officer applying for a distinguished position, or a graduating senior applying for scholarships, it all begins here! Division 15

A letter from the elect: Hello Division 15 Giraffes! My name is Amy He, and I am your Lieutenant Governor Elect! (: I am currently a junior at Chino Hills High School and through the many years of involvement as member and officer, I am in love with the organization, spirit, and the people. Though Conclave was one of the most nerve-wrecking experiences, it was enjoyable because all the candidates were just as nervous and were similar to me-people who loves Key Club wholeheartedly. At the end of the day, it was hard to sink in the fact that I just became an elect for Division 15. However, I am so honored and SO excited to serve you all! I will do my very best to make this last year for Division 15 full of achievement, great memories, and spirit! I am just a normal 5-feet girl, so please do not hesitate at all to say hi, talk to me when you see me, or email me about any questions that you may have at d15.cnhkc.ltg@gmail.com. I would love to greet you all and visit every club of Division 15 Giraffes. All hail Giraffia! Division 15

Upland - Rose Float, by Sebaah Hamad One of my favorite service events every Key Club year is Rose Float. The events Upland usually attends have limits on how many volunteers can be at the event. However, for Rose Float, Upland can decide how many we want to bring. This makes Rose Float one of the most highly attended events. Madeline Choi (chair) and I encouraged everyone to come for almost two months. Our excitement for the event had soon translated to their excitement. Members anticipated the service event which came on December 26th. We took two cars and one bus to transport us to a factory of glue and roses. Since so many Key Clubbers were able to attend, Rose Float was the perfect chance for all of us to have some bonding time. We first cut a lot of flowers in a tremendously meticulous manner. We were so tired; we all worked on small cushions over a wooden box. Finally, a supervisor came to change our stations. We were moved to work on even more flowers, not much of a change. Although the task itself was hard and boring, we had the best time cutting those flowers. At one point, we even started singing. The bonding time I was able to have with Upland Key Clubbers was utterly amazing. Sometimes as president, I focus too much on the paperwork and forget why in fact I love key club. This service event helped me remember that the most precious moments I can have in high school is with Key Clubbers. I hope to pass on that reminder to our new president-elect, Kayla Yamada.

Ontario - Movie Night, by Karen Diaz
On Friday January 18, 2013, Ontario High School’s Key Club joined together at their annual Movie Night. It was a time to bond with fellow clubbers and have fun as opposed to the usual service events the club attends. The event began at 6:00 P.M, but many members volunteered to come at 5:30 p.m. to help set up. They helped prepare seats for those who attended, and in the set up of the computers and projectors. The members had to choose between watching Inception or the Amazing Spiderman; they ended up choosing Inception. An hour into the film there was an intermission where the club sold chili cheese fries to the attendees. The members were then sent back to watch the remainder of the movie until about 9:30 pm. In essence, the club was able to make a profit and enjoy the night hanging out with their fellow giraffes. Division 15
