Key Club Pledge I pledge, on my honor, to uphold the Objects of Key Club International; to build my home, school and community; to serve my nation and world; and combat all forces which tend to undermine these institutions.

Farewell What’s Poppin’ Belugas? This is my last time writing one of these, and having thought about the end of the term ever since I started could make me emotional at any event. I never thought I would have this opportunity to serve such a passionate, inspiring group of members, and I hope you were able to find new meaning in Key Club this term. Whether it was singing karaoke at the November DCM or showing memes on virtual backgrounds for the January DCM, your spirit and dedication have never failed me, and I am proud to have served as your Lieutenant Governor. Although this term was definitely not what we expected, I am so grateful for your continued hard work, and I know that this year’s leadership have built a solid foundation of growth for all of our elects! Thank you for all you have taught me, and I hope I was able to teach some of you lessons as well. If you ever need help, advice, or just someone to talk to, I am always here and I will always try to be that figure of trust for you. It has been the upmost honor for me to serve you and represent D15S these past 12 months. As of April 11th, the end of the 2020-2021 term, welcome Ashley as your new LTG! Thank you for everything <3

Spouting Into Service,

Emily Lu Lieutenant Governor 2020-2021

Editor For the last time, hello everyone! Welcome to March! It has officially been an entire year since the start of lockdown in this pandemic. Can you believe that one year ago we were still in school? One year ago, we thought life would open up again in a few weeks. No one had any idea that a year later, we would be in an even worse situation, at home, doing school online, and losing thousands of people daily. It’s been a rough year! In times like this it can hard to find positives, but there definitely are some. Through this pandemic we have just scratched the surface of possibilities of what we can do from home. Online school may not be your favorite, but it has changed the way we can learn forever. Even in Key Club, we have been able to convert to entirely online events in a matter of months with zoom DCMs and virtual service events. Personally, we have discovered new talents, learned new skills, and gotten really creative in trying to end the monotony of everyday. No matter how you look at it, I know most of us can’t wait to get out of this pandemic. So, this March, let’s look back on the good, bad, and difficult of this past year to remember everything we have lost and gained as we start to heal. Please stay safe, stay positive, and have a fabulous month!

Excited to Serve,

Ria Parikh News Editor 2020-2021

Greetings Salutations Belugas! I am so happy to start off this new term with you all by my side! As we all get comfortable and adjust to the changes that come at the beginning of every term, I just wanted to give you an official warm welcome to DIVISION 15 WEST. Although our name has changed, the bonds and commitment to service we all hold are still going strong. Throughout this new term, I hope to be a beacon of light and an arm you can count on, so please do not hesitate to contact me and ask questions!

With Great Beluga Spirit,

Ashley Ma Lieutenant Governor 2021-2022

Care Bear Bonding

We made over hearts for senior citizens in the interdivisional Paper Hearts Service Project! The Paper Hearts Service Project and bonding with Divisions 15 South, North, East, and Division 4 East was such an open environment to socialize! I was given the honor to host the Paper Hearts Service Project Breakout Room, and it was one of the best experiences I have had all year. Along with guiding the Zoom Breakout room, I was given the opportunity to meet many people, and among them were the LTG’s from both Division 15 East (Lia Busby) and North (Katherine Nguyen), who are now one of my closest friends to this day! Although, another great way to describe this event is productive. The divisions combined made over 1050 paper hearts that will go to Senior Homes! This event was one of the most impactful events because I met so many other members from across all 4 divisions and I’ll remember the entire experience for years to come!

Collecting Clothes for Charity

Submitted By: Natalie Keung

Organizing the clothing drive got me super excited for the responses from the members. Actually going to the drop off dates was really fun since I got to spend time with our LTG and Maya. Seeing Maya and my car full of bags of clothes and other items was incredible and I was really happy about the good turn out. Everyone had a lot to donate and I hope that this instills the habit to donate instead of throwing out old items. Overall, Maya and I were able to fill up 4 full bins at the Savers we donated to. Knowing that some of the money goes to people affected by epilepsy made this whole experience even more fulfilling and I hope to make this an annual event even after I leave Ayala Key Club.

Meet the Officer Board!

Recently in the Chino Hills High Key Club, I got elected to become copresident with Ria Parikh! I am extremely grateful and excited for this opportunity and to work with Ria and the rest of the officer board. We will continue Key Club’s legacy and hopefully make good changes. We want to bring Key Club closer as a community and create lasting high school memories for everyone. I can’t wait for next year so lookout for Chino Hills High Key Club!

- Katelynn Situ, Chino Hills High

I am so excited to be working with my best friend and the rest of the officer board as a co-president! This past year has been a crazy whirlwind of events, from going online to meeting so many incredible people. I cannot wait to take what we have learned so far to create lasting memories and improve Key Club to the best of our abilities!

In the month of February, our club was able to hold elections for the upcoming term. It was so exciting to hear all the speeches and I am proud of everyone who got elected. I have pleasure to serve on the board next term as the secretary. I feel overjoyed to be working with such an amazing board next term. A goal for the upcoming term would be members, our club has grown a lot and it would be great to see another growth in members.

- Yahir Perez, Montclair High

This month we held our officer elections. Hearing everyone’s carefully written speeches about their goals for the next term was so wonderful. We got to hear everyone’s hopes for the club and got to reflect on our success in the current term. I know everyone is excited for the new board to continue to help our club succeed. We’re excited for everything to come. Good luck officers!
