Key Club Pledge I pledge, on my honor, to uphold the Objects of Key Club International; to build my home, school and community; to serve my nation and world; and combat all forces which tend to undermine these institutions.

’ Salutations, Belugas! I would like to officially welcome all of you to the 2021-2022 Key Club Term! There are unprecedented times, and our division has gone through some MAJOR changes. With the renaming of the former Division 15 South to Division 15 West, I hope we can all rise above the adversities and uncertainty to bring some positivity to our communities. We also are hoping to transition into an in-person service event soon as well, so bring your masks and get ready to SERVE! Swimming into Service,

Ashley Ma Lieutenant Governor 2021-2022

Editor Hello Everyone! Happy May and welcome to the new term everyone! I am so excited for a wonderful term as we start to transition back to in person events and welcome in a whole new wave of Key Clubbers. Let’s make sure we welcome all incoming officers and DLT was they work hard to make this year our best yet. Outside of Key Club, I know most of you have a lot going on with AP tests and finals, so don’t worry if you need to step back so you can participate in Key Club more later. Good luck with everything and have a wonderful summer! Thankful to Serve,

Ria Parikh CHHS Co President 2021-2022

Spring Into the Next Term This month, one of my favorite events was the March DCM! I had such a great time ending off this term with my favorite divisions in Region 13! Also, we were able to do jeopardy with the divisions, and it was super fun learning about everyone. I hope to carry this passion and fun into the next term, and make Division 15 proud!

Zom-bee Apocalypse

Submitted By: Emily Lu

In the month of March, Key Club had an DCM Awake-A-Thon Event where the theme was zombie apocalypse! As the event name implies, members participated in a 12 hour virtual zoom call where we met new people and shared new experiences! We started the night off strong with introductions by the LTGs and even made posters with our assigned teammates. We also had little breaks and dance parties in between every so often so we wouldn’t get that tired. Honestly, going into this event, I had no clue on what we were going to do for so long! However, the LTGs did such an amazing job with coordinating all of the activities that I never felt a dull moment the whole time I was there! In our teams, we indulged in many activities like scavenger hunts and participated in other team bonding exercises that took skill and creativity. Members were even able to make new connections with other people outside of our original teams and that were from other divisions! Overall, I personally had a great time making new friends while solving some puzzles; I cannot even believe this was the last event for the term!

Merch Distribution

Submitted By: Nathan Tran

The D15S Merch Distribution was untroubled and well-ordered despite some minor obstacles! Throughout the distribution I did about 17 deliveries and spent 2 hours at our Chino Hills Community center handing out merch! As rigorous as it sounds, I made the best of it and had an amazing experience. Sure, I could say I spent more than 3 hours of nonstop driving, but it was worth seeing the delightful expressions as our members received their merch! So many of them were so polite and I got to have small conversations with so many of them! Not only that but at the 2-hour pick-up I got to do yoga with our LTG Emily Lu, and our Ayala Vice President Natalie Keung while we waited for members. Overall, I have gained a large respect for delivery drivers!

→ Please join us for the first DCM of the term! We will be participating in the Rose River DCM together. After a year of devastation from COVID-19 we would like to do our part to celebrate the lives of those who were lost to us this year. With this project people from all over the world are coming together to make a memorial of roses: one for each person lost. Pickup information will be TBA, but make sure to mark your calendars! You can find more information on the project here: https://www.roseriver.memorial/.

Spotlight Summer Leadership Conference ICON: Due to complications from COVID safety, the International Board had to cancel the International Convention. For those who have never been, the International Convention is similar to DCON as it marks the end of the international term, is full of different interesting workshops, and allows us to elect the international board. What: Even though in person ICON is canceled, the international board has worked extremely hard to make sure they can still get you a great Convention! Now known as the Summer Leadership Conference, you can

attend ICON from home! It will be FREE and include speakers, workshops, recognition and more. It is also a great way for officers to learn more about their positions and how to succeed in them. When: The conference will be held from July 6th through 10th and registration is already open! More details will be released soon, but for now make sure to register FOR MORE INFORMATION GO TO KEYCLUB.ORG
