Volunteering at Butterfield's annual Wild West Night is an event that a lot of members and I look forward to! A lot of our members who attended Butterfield felt a sense of nostalgia because they were able to be part of the Staff! We ran the different game booths and food stands! Some members did ring toss, and were able to make kids smile! Some worked the barbecue grill and took orders. I caught and handed out gold fish! I was even able to face paint for some kids! There was even a petting zoo, which was so much fun! Not only did we help out a local school, we were also able to socialize and bond! Our members were able to play different booths and hang out! It was so much fun! I can't wait to attend Butterfield Wild West Night again next year!!!

COLONY: "welcome back teachers" card making submitted by: Gieverlyn Guerrero

cardmaking

Over the course of 3 weeks, members were offered the task to create “Welcome Back” cards to the teachers of Colony High school. Of course, they also had the option of personally making a “Welcome Back” card to their favorite teacher. Many participated in this task as we have a lot of teachers(also staff) in our school: over 100! We Key Club officers wanted to be able to give cards to all of the staff that we can this time, so that's why we chose go extend the time members can make cards. At the end of those 3 weeks, we had over 100 cards! We gave 1 hour of volunteer work to those who made 10 cards and 2 hours of volunteer work if they made 20 cards. We made 20 cards the max as we wanted for them to make the best cards they can for the teachers, to make them thoughtful and considerate to them by making them pretty. There were so much beautiful cards, some looking very professional. Others had puns and jokes regarding the teachers’ welcome back, some saying “It's very nice for you guys to be back” and others similar to that. I am proud to say that the Colony Key Club members were very participant in this event. Some worked on the cards at home and others worked on them after the Key Club meetings. There will be a planned delivery of those “Welcome Back” cards, but that is for another day. For now, the members had an enjoyable time making those cards, as many said it was fun to get creative with what they'd put and that it was relaxing to do art. They were looking forward to doing them again or other work similar this following year or the next.

D15S + D15N NIGHT MARKET

submitted by: Leo Park, Chino Hills The Night Market DCM that Division 15 South collaborated with Division 15 North was one to remember and an enjoyable one. Members from a variety of difference schools came and we had the pleasure to participate in selling drinks, doing cheers, and making new friends. For our club, we sold regular lemonade and strawberry lemonade in mason jars. It was successful as many different Key Clubbers were interested in the colorful and belugadecorated jars we had created. This experience of meeting all kinds of new people from different divisions and schools was a healthy one and definitely gives more the reason to attend DCMs to build leadership, character, and just simply have a good time!

region 13 picnic

Region 13 Picnic is an event where all the divisions in Region 13 gather to raise funds for ptp by selling cute merch and delicious food! Members got together to spirit battle, play games, and just generally have a fun time! Members could go around participating in the scavenger hunt (consisting of finding the LTGs and performing a little task) for a chance to get a limited edition region 13 picnic pin. They could have also gone around trying the plentiful food sold by the divisions or purchasing new merch for their collection! I went around to look at the booths and so many divisions were selling cute merch, but I couldn't buy it all. The seals had a variety of pins and shirts, while the green turtles sold turtles stickers. Among the food booths, one of my favorites was the lychee lemonade with lychee jelly sold by division 15E. The cold sweet and sourness was refreshing on the warm day. I helped run the booth for D15SÍž we were selling cotton candy, but members wanted to try to make it themselves, so the booth became a make your own cotton candy booth. It was a lot more popular than we expected. Awhile after the picnic started, the members were split into 7 different groups according the number they were assigned at registration. These groups were lead by different LTGs who had different activities for each group. We played games with each LTG and also got to know other members better because of this! After the games and lunch came the spirit battles! The Divisions were competing for the Region 13 spirit stick! Each division had their chants and the division that chanted the most cohesively and loudly would win the spirit stick! Sadly, I was not there to witness the spirit battle or who won, as I had to leave earlier. Regardless, Region Picnic is an event where all the members are able to have fun and all the money raised goes to PTP to help save children! s u b mi t t e d b y : me l a n i e ma n o r a t , a y a l a

PIXAR Region 13 Training Conference

11

Region 13 Training Conference was an amazing experience! It first began with signing in. Then, a general meeting composed of all the divisions within Region 13. All the LTGs and District Board members first went through powerpoints explaining the Origins of Key Club and what Key Club is basically. They called for some ice breakers which was also fun. Eventually, we did split into different workshops depending on one's position/interest. The workshops were very helpful in helping those to improve as a Key Club member or an officer. There was a lunch break where members got to socialize and eat pizza as well as a fashion show towards the end of the overall training conference. Therefore, the conference was just a really good experience to expand your knowledge on Key Club and imporve as a member!
