LTG'S LETTER

Hey Belugas!

4

This month sure was busy busy busy with Fall Rally season and all the preparation for it but please make sure to keep up that passion and spirit you have for Key Club throughout the last few 5 months of the term! Remember to turn in your dues, continue to roll in those service hours, and host those fundraisers! DCON 2019 is coming up in April so I really recommend you all to get a head start on fundraising for it and preparing! I am so proud at how far we’ve come but we still have a long way to go! We have already hit 3x our original PTP goal of $1.5k with our $4.5k raised for Fall Rally, but we have only hit 3,600 out of our goal of 10,000 service hours! Make sure to keep up the service! I hope to see you all at ThanksKEYving! Happy fall!

with love, Gina Min

DNE'S LETTER

HI BELUGAS!

Wow, it really has been a busy month! Not only with the three prefall rallies to prepare all belugas to look cute and dominate at Fall Rally taking place throughout the weeks before Fall Rally, but the whole month itself! Eventually, there was the annual Fall Rally South at Six Flags which I hope everyone enjoyed the wonderful experience of cheering our hearts out, meeting new key club buddies, and much more! I'm truly proud of all the effort we belugas put into the rally to obtain the Spirit Stick! As for the individual clubs within the division, it has also been busy for all schools based off all the amazing articles and visuals I've received! Good job BELUGAS! Until the next newsletter, keep up the hard work and hope to see you at future division events!

love, andreana

8 club updates: LA chino hills AIDS WALK high school 2018 On the 21st of October I went to the annual AIDS Walk, which is an event in which people from all over Los Angeles and surrounding areas gather together to walk for a good cause. I had a great time walking and raising awareness for AIDS and HIV with fellow Key Club members and officers. Taking a bus to LA with my close friends and raising awareness for an important issue was an amazing experience and I would definitely do it all over again. Throughout the walk, I got to take pictures for the club, meet new people, and travel LA, making memories that I will treasure forever. Overall, although walking over 6 miles was tiring, it was worth it. I had a lot of fun at this event and can’t wait to serve in more ways at future events with other key clubbers! by: Priscila Chen Hsu Chino Hills

club updates:

The Trick or Treat event took place on October 31, 2018, at the outdoor Shoppes at 13920 City Center Drive in the city of Chino Hills. We were there from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm but the actual event for the public started at 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The event was for children 12 years old and younger to have a fun and safe environment to go trick or treating. The roads passing through the Shoppes were closed for this event. There were candy stations, arts and crafts stations and game station as well as a Halloween costume contest. They also had Disney characters and photobooth. There were many adults and teenagers present as well. It seemed like everyone was dressed up for the event in costumes. A lot of the retail shops also participated by giving out candy to the kids. It was a lot of people that came for this fun event. There were 10 key club members that helped at this facility. One was placed at the photo booth station, another was at the information booth, three was placed at the Chino Hills Mobile Truck and the rest was placed in other needed areas. I was helping at the Chino Hills Mobile Truck. We had two games set up for the kids on our side. Ring toss and bean bag toss. The kids were having a lot of fun. They were winning at stretchy toy. I was running back and forth picking up the tossed rings and the bean bags for the next kid that was waiting to play. In all, it was a very fun and tiring event. I was worn out by these young kids!

pre‐fall rallies To prepare for the ultimate Fall Rally, belugas all throughout Division 15 South attended our three prefall rallies. During these prefall rallies, it varied with different, crafty, and fun activities coordinated by our LTG, Gina Min or the spirit coordinators, Andy Le and Andreana Flores!

pre‐fall rally #1

At our first prefall rally, it was also written the DCM for the month where clubs caught each other up as well as our LTG handing out World's Finest Chocolate boxes for members to eventually sell and raise money for the division and PTP! After the DCM, members were taught how to make leis so they can wear it during the rally, or simply have their cute creation from Key Club. After leimaking, members were taught the HOWDOYOUFEEL Cheer AND remix, as well as appreciation/ battle chants so they know what to do as they walk around Six Flags and encounter other Key Clubbers. Main cheer #1 was also taught so everyone that was at the prefall rally was able to learn it and be ready for Fall Rally!

pre‐fall rally #2

by: Andreana Flores,

Prefall rally #2 was a success! We taught the first couple of our spirit chants and also hosted a tutumaking workshop. We started off selling our super adorable beluga merch to event attendees, then continued on to teach our amazing chants! Personally, my favorite part of this event was making tutus! Rachel and I made really cute tutus made up of white and purple ribbon. Overall, this prefall rally #2 was fun, and I’m realllyyy excited for Fall Rally, which is just right around the corner! written by: isabella tan, dmrc

pre‐fall rally #3

It was the last prefall rally before the real thing! All members that were attending Fall Rally came and we all had so much fun learning cheers, making new friends, and eating pizza with boba! Moreover, we gave out all the spirit gear including our beluga t shirts as well as pom poms! Members also bought more gear to represent our division at Fall Rally, whether it was bandanas, tutus, facestickers, pins and more! Members learned all 3 main cheers and practiced till we had it set to memorize! We constantly cheered each cheer so it can be memorized and our LTG along with spirit coordinators did so well teaching it and getting members to become involved. Eventually, we had a break where members got their pizza and socialized more with each other. At the very end, we had announced the two raffle winners for a beluga backpack and the winners were very happy with their prize! In the end, it was good prefall rally and belugas were ready to dominate the next day at Fall Rally!

D15S TAKES ON

FALL RALLY SOUTH 2018

Fall Rally South 2018 was a SUCCESS! Belugas didn't win the spirit stick, BUT we put in our best effort possible through our spirit gear and cheers!

Overall, belugas still had a fun day throughout the park meeting new Key Clubers from all divisions through out the South of California! With more than 200 members attending, we managed to raise over $4.5K during the rally to donate to PTP! Isn't that so AMAZING! All the time Belugas comitted before Fall Rally really made a SPLASH at the Rally and it was just so wonderful to see all the dedicated Key Clubbers within the Division and all the hard work that they do! Thank you to all Belugas that participated in raising money for PTP and representing Division 15 South well! Until Fall Rally 2019, let's keep wellrepresenting D15 from the South and go get the Spirit Stick next year!
