On Wednesday after school I went to volunteer at Isaiah's Rock for the first time. When I first got there, I was really lost and confused Most of us were firsttimers so it took a bit of time to figure things out, but once we did it was actually pretty easy. We helped move boxes and package food. I volunteered with a group of my friends, so we actually had a pretty good time while we were working. I also got to meet some underclassmen who I definitely won't forget. It was a fun time, being able to hang out with friends and volunteer. I'm definitely gonna go to help out again soon.

(colony pink out fundraiser) (colony pink out fundraiser) It’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Colony is having its pink out week along with the pink out game. This is the week where everyone wears pink and everything pink related is mentioned. With the special football game, key club is selling pink scrunchies, pink heart glasses, pink drawstring bags, pink stickers and finally breast cancer socks. We have been selling during every lunch for the past two weeks at the beginning of October and have sold out twice already. The proceeds go to the Susan G. Komen foundation. There are at least 4 members selling during first lunch and second lunch which gives many opportunities to members who want to attend a quick volunteer service. It’s one of the more chill and calm events where members just sell and interact with staff and students of the school. One of our freshmen belugas actually prefers events like these over the big ones. She

stated, “I enjoy selling during lunch with my friends, I am also getting better at dealing with money and talking to people.” The last day to sell all the items was at the pink out football game. I worked a few lunches and it was honestly really easy. Many students enjoyed the selection we had laid out for them. There were also lots of staff who stopped by to support us by buying a pair of socks or two. This was a nice way to show school spirit but also support a greater cause. We were able to spread awareness and raise money within a few days with the help of everyone.

Colony Commemorates is an annual event held at Colony High School every year to honor the heroes of our nation during the month of November. Veterans of all sorts are invited to our school for an interview and luncheon provided by staff and students. This special event was created to send thanks to the people that sacrificed so much for our country to be what it is today. This year our Key Club has decided that we were going to make cards for every single veteran that came to the celebration. It began from the beginning of October and lasted for a few days. We were able to have many cards and there were even extra for each person to have two. There was one day afterschool where the club decided to have a card making event and the whole room was packed. Each member was required to make 10 neat cards filled with a short message for one hour and during that time period we had received over 60 cards. Each of the cards had their own uniqueness and not one was the same. For those who didn’t attend the event afterschool, they were able to earn an hour for 15 cards instead of 10. I usually participate in Colony Commemorates every year but this was the first year that I did something with Key Club. It was different working behind the scenes and making something more personal for every veteran. It was a relaxing day as we drew and listened to music. It was a good chance to start becoming closer to everyone and just chill.

Every month God’s Pantry holds a donation center to help struggling local families receive free healthy food and volunteering to help these families always makes us happy because we know that our efforts are helping the community. All of the volunteer leaders are so friendly to everyone helping, and they guided us to each station that we could help out in. Throughout the day families including parents and kids together picked out items to take home and we were all constantly busy lending a helping hand. My couple hours on this morning consisted of bagging a variety of fruit and pastries that could be later on easily separated and distributed. The system of organizing and packing was a nice team effort coordinating with the other volunteers around me that belong to different church organizations or high school volunteer groups. Later on, I helped pick out items for families and push their shopping carts, and our final task was unloading all their food into their car. This experience left all the volunteers happy for our contributions.
