U P D A T E S
For the start of the summer of this term, members of Colony High School Key Club were given the option of making thank you cards for the Westwind Community Center’s staff. We wanted to thank the staff for allowing our club to volunteer there, as other places were stricker in their policy to allow volunteers, or already had volunteers provided to them from some place other than Colony’s Key Club. As this event took place during the summer, where members most likely either went on vacation with their families or were taking classes in the summer, few people came to the meeting on the start of summer. I was one of those who were taking classes in the summer, but since the classes were close to the meeting place, at Westwind, I was able to walk there. Unfortunately for others, they were busy due to outings with their families and more education. Once we were all gathered inside the building, away from the burning heat, a few others and I began to make the thank you cards for the Westwind staff. Everyone really wanted to be creative in how we made these cards, and together we made 50 cards! Afterwards, we put the cards in the cubbies of the workers thanked them for their generosity. Making these cards together was fun and most likely, they had fun too.

Senior graduation is a quite magical and memorable event that occurs only once every year! A t this event you and your fellow volunteers pass out pamphlets to the incoming attendees (parents, families, friends etc) . The dress code is semi formal, so make sure to bring other KeyClub friends because after you’ve passed out the final pamphlet, you are freed to watch the rest of graduation for free! It was great to see the seniors get their diplomas and graduate; a lot walked proudly with our very own Key Club stoles!

Division 15 Banquet
It was so amazing to get to see everyone from the D1 5 gang back together at the wonderful Division 1 5 banquet. Not only that, but for the occasion we go to step back from service and celebrate our year in service and serving our division. It was so cool to be able to also earn awards as a club and an individual. The event really showed us how our hard work is really recognized and appreciated. I attended the Officer Training Conference and June DCM!! I met so many people from other counterparts of our division and also learned about what it takes to be an officer for Key Club. At the conference, there were many informative presentations presented by our fabulous LTG's and also the district secretary Zoe Yao! The many Kahoots we played after the presentations were also very fun :) I learned a lot during this OTC and can't to encounter more giraffes and manta rays in future service events!!

Happy summer belugas! I hope you are all having a fun and productive summer with lots of service and fundraising! We are finally gaining speed in the summer months with the completion of D15’s RetrOT C. T hank you all for coming, and I hope to see you in the next July DCM! We have had a successful few months into the term and I hope that we continue on this path to 10,000 service hours and $1,000 in fundraising for PT P! If you need any help with anything key club or life related, contact me and the Division Leadership Team! I love you all, and have a great rest of your summer.
