How’s it going, Snow Leopards! Happy New Year!!!! We’re off to a fresh new start! As News Editor, I can’t wait to see what the year brings and hopefully our monthly newsletters will contain more articles from our members in the division. I am also looking forward to the following year and wishing the best to all for those who applied to colleges! I encourage you all to look back at a goal you’ve created or plan to create, and make some progress on what you can do to get closer to that goal. I know you can do it! Most importantly, don’t forget to find ways on getting more involved in your club! One way of getting involved is submitting an article with a visual to our division newsletter! It’s always nice to see new members submitting articles to our newsletter, if you need any help please reach out to me or our LTG Marlen for more information. In this issue of Leaping into the News, you will read more about messages from your LTG and DLT, articles from your division, recaps, the CNH Member Survey, and more! Happy Reading!

Serving with Gratitude,

2021-2022 News Editor

Happy New Year, Snow Leopards! I hope you are having a great start to the new year and are enjoying your winter break! With school quickly approaching, we will be having our first DCM of the year! More information on this month’s DCM will be coming soon, so be sure to stay on the lookout for any emails from myself and the DLT. Make sure to make arrangements ahead of time to ensure that your club will be in attendance. There are officially 3 months left in the term, meaning it is now time to elect the next Lt. Governor for the 2022-2023 term! If you are interested in running, please contact me for more information! Conclave will be coming up soon where all clubs will for for the next LTG. For those of you that haven’t filled out the CNH Member Survey, please be sure to do that as soon as possible. The District’s Strategic Planning Committee will be utilizing the form to get a better idea of the District’s needs. The deadline to fill out the form is January 1st, 2022. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you ever need anything. I am here to help you and I am more than happy to speak with you. Once again, happy new year and I look forward to seeing you all soon.

Until next time, Snow Leopards! :)

Leaping through Service,

2021-2022 Lieutenant Governor

Hello Everyone! I hope everything has been going well with school and clubs in this holiday season! We’ve worked together to plan and coordinate this upcoming DCM and other activities for our division! As a club, we’ve worked on making dog toys for our local animal shelter which was a popular hit! As the holidays are upon us, I think it’s important that we all note how much Key Club fits the spirit: we dedicate ourselves everyday to serve! Happy holidays D24/29 and a Happy New Year!

2021-2022 Executive Assistant

I have many things planned for these next few months I have with all of you snow leopards and can’t wait to put them together and share them with you!! I hope you guys can take this time to set new goals for yourselves and get refreshed, as is very much needed for all. See you soon!!

Hello Key Clubbers! Happy New Year everyone! I hope the holiday season has been treating everyone well and served as a fulfilling and relaxing time. As the media editor, I plan on creating more content for the division that can be used as reference and make information we have more accessible and easier to find. I hope everyone continues to do the great work they have been doing!

Hey there Division 24/29! Whoo I am so happy that the first semester of school is over, but at the same time I’m sad to know that my term as Division Event Coordinator is almost over. But I am overly excited to see how close we are to reaching our service event hours goal all thanks to everyone who has participated in any service event that helped our community! I hope everyone is ready and excited for the new term to begin and of course ready to give it their all these next few months to finish off this term strong! All of you are fantastic and I hope everyone has a happy holiday :D

Hey Snow Leopards! As the school year continues, we are just getting started on our first division fundraiser! We have decided that we will be fundraising with Chipotle. The date is yet to be determined, but we will have one location in SLO at Madonna Rd, and one location in Santa Maria at Betteravia Road. The service event is projected to be scheduled in January. A third of all proceeds from Key Clubbers will go toward division funds! Stay tuned for future updates on division fundraising!

December Service Events Provided by Jeremy Lee Oani (ERHS) Throughout this month, the ERHS Key Club has still continued to do what we do best and provide as many opportunities for our members to do community service and get those service hours up! This month we were able to provide three service opportunities for our members. The first one we did was doing a trash cleanup on Biscayne Street in Santa Maria. It was a very fun experience as we even got to collaborate with our school’s Interact Club! The second service event we did was called the “Holiday Bazaar Event”. Here, we helped raise funds and petition for senior resources at our local Oasis Center. With this, we were able to help support the elderly! The third service event we did was the “Cardz for Kidz” service event. Through this event, we met at our local Waller Park and spent time writing and decorating sincere cards for hospitalized children. We are also hosting an upcoming trash cleanup of Payton Road in Santa Maria! This month was a very successful one for the ERHS Key Club and we hope to keep on stacking one good month after the next!

Dog Toys for the Humane Society Provided by Finn Westley (SLOHS) At our last club meeting, our members voted on the time and place to hold our group service event! we will be meeting in Santa Rosa Park on Saturday, December 18 from 10:00 am to at least 1:00 pm. We will be making dog toys out of old T-shirts and sheets and having a station set up at the park tables. Through this event, our members will be able to earn hours. These dog toys will go toward a good cause as they will help out the animals at Woods Humane Society. We are also planning to deliver the dog toys as a group!

Frosty Winter Event Provided by Jessica Cortez Hernandez (SMHS) On Friday, October 22nd, several of our members, including our officers joined us to kick off our Frosty Winter event. This event was created by our officer team as a way to donate to our community that is in need of warm clothing this winter. Our officer team worked hard to prepare and plan this event. We wanted to provide a way for all students to come together and spread some warmth this Winter. At the start of this project, we prepared over a dozen boxes to be set up around the school to encourage everyone to participate. Our team provided us with gift wrap, markers, and other tools to help us decorate the boxes to be a little more festive. After school, our Key Club members volunteered to help decorate the boxes and plan out the rest of the details for the project, like where they should be set up at the school. Overall, our Key Club members were excited to help with the project and we were able to connect closer as a club through this. By the end of the event, we were able to collect lots of clothing to donate to homeless shelters, it was a huge success for our club, and we are excited to do more projects like this!

INTRODUCTION We are proud to introduce the CNH Member Survey. This is a form we hope all members will fill out this term with the help of division and club officers and members. Its intent is for us to gain a better understanding of who makes up our mighty district, what you all like about Key Club, and what you all feel could be improved. This form is also anonymous to promote truthful responses.

IMPORTANCE We cannot stress how important it is to fill out this form! Without filling it out you are removing your voice from deciding the future of the CNH District. This is because we want and need to hear your opinions so that we can better improve the club for this term and future terms. The form only takes a few minutes to fill out but its impact will last for years so do not forget to fill it out!
