How’s it going, Snow Leopards! We’re almost done with the term! As News Editor, I can’t believe that I only have one more month left to serve. I love creating a theme for each newsletter that’s published and hope that I inspire the next Division News Editor! I encourage you all to run for a position in your club and possibly look into serving as part of the division leadership team for the following term! I’ve had a great experience serving as a news editor and I hope that you all will consider running for a position in your club or the division! Most importantly, don’t forget to find ways on getting more involved in your club! One way of getting involved is submitting an article with a visual to our division newsletter! It’s always nice to see new members submitting articles to our newsletter, if you need any help please reach out to me or our LTG Marlen for more information. In this issue of Leaping into the News, you will read more about messages from your LTG and DLT, articles from your division, recaps, club positions, elections, submission reminders, and more! Happy Reading!

Serving with Gratitude,

2021-2022 News Editor

Happy March, Division 24/29! Can you believe that the term ends in only a month? Time has flown by! With the end of the term approaching very soon, I hope that you can all reflect on how far you have come in your Key Club journey and what you have been able to do this past year. Whether that is participating more in events or getting more involved through a leadership role, I am proud of each and every one of you and I am looking forward to spending the rest of the school year with all of you! This month will mark the end of elections season and I am very excited to see the future of your clubs! Congratulations to those of you that have already been elected! If you are on the edge about running for a position, I highly encourage you to run! Having a leadership position in Key Club will open many doors for you and will allow you to grow even further as a leader. Go for it and good luck! I am happy to announce that our next Division Council Meeting is coming up in less than two weeks! Our Division Leadership Team and I are very excited for all the activities we have planned for you all and we hope that you will join us! Our DCM will be held on Saturday, March 19th from 1-3:30pm at the Kiwanis Hall in Atascadero. Please contact your club president if you need transportation and would like to attend. An important goal that we set from the beginning of the term is 3,000 service hours. As of today, we have completed 2,802 hours and we are nearly at our goal! With 4 weeks left, I hope that each of you will be able to participate in more service! I know we can reach our goal, so please make that final push! Thank you for all your hard work Snow Leopards and I will see you all soon! In the meantime, feel free to contact me if you need anything or have any questions! :)

Leaping through Service,

2021-2022 Lieutenant Governor

Hello Everyone! It’s March and the year is off to a good start! We’ve had two highly successful DCMs that have been filled with service and collaboration! As for my own club, we’ve successfully established routine meetings and are planning for projects to do in the future! We’re working hard to ensure that D24/29 keeps having a wonderful year!

2021-2022 Executive Assistant

Hey Snow Leopards! I have recently been working on recruiting members for our division and I have been very pleased for all of you that have been constantly participating and helping us reach our service hour goal for our term. I am very proud of what our division has been accomplishing so far! I have been helping members from the division by information and have been getting involved in my home club. I was also recently elected as PV’s Vice President! It’s something very exciting because I’ll continue to serve my Key Club and community. As our terms of officer positions are quickly coming to an end, one of my goals before our term ends is to be able to have as many members as possible in attendance for our next DCM, so I can get to know many of you whom I still have yet met. I really encourage all Snow Leopards to keep on participating in your home clubs, keeping those hours coming, and possibly run for officer positions for the division or your home club! It’s a very rewarding experience! Hope to see you all soon!!

Hello Key Clubbers! My home club of San Luis Obispo has been working towards hosting a baby bonnet event—similar to what was held at the January DCM—with materials from our advisor. We are also looking forward to holding our elections and finding new ways to attract members. I am excited to find new ways to help my club in the next term after learning a bit from my first year as an officer in person. Before the term ends, I look forward to providing more information and creating more posts to help communicate the goals of our division. Thank you to every member, officer, and guests for all of your hard work! Your efforts are greatly appreciated and know that Key Club has even more to offer!

2021-2022 Media Editor

Hey there Division 24/29! I hope everyone is having a lovely year so far! I have been keeping busy in my home club. We are having elections and I am actually going to be Pioneer Valley's Key Club President for the next term! I am a bit nervous but I have a positive feeling that I will do great because of being a part of the DLT! I’m also excited to be working with Yitzel, one of our executive assistants in the next term as she will be serving as the PVHS Vice President. We are currently still holding elections for all the other positions which I highly encourage people to try for because it gives a good sense of responsibility and experience in leadership:) Before the term is over, I want to reach possibly 100 hours of community service. I wish all of you the best and hope all of you strive to do everything you can in Key Club because it not helps the community, but it helps you grow as a person! :D

2021-2022 Event Coordinator

Hey Snow Leopards! I hope everyone has been staying busy in Key Club. Regarding my own club, we are just getting started with some new service projects and are planning for the coming months. So far this month, we started off strong with a successful outdoor road clean up at a heavily littered bike trail. We cleaned up around a neighborhood, and also in a drainage basin to the north of the trail. This weekend, we are hosting a teacher appreciation service event, where we will be making cards and letter of appreciation to faculty members to thank them for their hard work these past two years and improve their spirits! In the following week, we plan to set up a Cards for Heroes event with Red Cross. Our members are very excited about volunteering and plan on serving the community in a variety of different ways in the future as well!

2021-2022 Fundraising Coordinator

Hey Snow Leopards! At the moment, I have been busy with school and athletics and I want to continue to serve my community more. I plan on serving 100 service hours by the end of the 2021-2022 term and having a leadership position. Some goals I have outside of Key Club is achieve my desired fitness goals and earn straight As. I hope everyone is doing well and serving their community as much as possible because not only will it allow you to help others, but it can strengthen your involvement! I look forward to seeing all of you at our March DCM on March 19th in Atascadero and I am excited to recognize more of you through our Division awards!

Hey Snow Leopards! I hope you all are having a spectacular day! it’s your spirit coordinator Veronica here! As I’ve been meeting more of you, I’ve been so grateful and joyful to see what wonderful people you all are! You all seem so passionate and spirited towards serving our community and I absolutely love to see that! I am proud to serve as your spirit coordinator. I have also loved seeing all of your community service projects! It has really shown how much you all care about making a positive difference in our world. As our divisions keep growing, I’ve been so excited to meet more of you and be able to inspire you all to stay engaged within the key club because after all, we are one spirited division! I look forward to forming personal connections with as many of you as I can! See you all at our March DCM!

February Service Provided by Finn Westley (SLOHS) SLOHS Key Club earned club of the month in our division at our January DCM. Thank you to our advisors and members who have put in continuous effort this year despite all odds. Let's continue to put our all into planning service events for our community and working with the resources we have! We are excited to begin a new month and new term and encourage continued participation from all of our members. We were very successful in our last club event making dog toys, and we have the idea to meet up again to make baby hats to donate to our local hospital. We have several looms to use, and will be learning the simple pattern. We are thinking of partnering with the Chronicles of Yarnia club on our campus and are brainstorming other ways to supply the yarn needed to make the bonnets. We will be finalizing our decision at our next few club meetings.

Feeding the Homeless Provided by Nathaniel De Francia (PVHS) On February 9th many of our Key Clubbers volunteered at our Good Samaritan Shelter and fed the homeless. Our volunteers worked for over an hour and we had about 10 volunteers working at the event. The event itself consisted of our volunteers serving food and drinks to those in need in our community. At the event, volunteers got to provide and give back to their community and engage in a positive and helpful environment. All of the Key Clubbers enjoyed this event and are looking forward to future service.

Baby Hats Provided by Jeremy Lee Oani (ERHS) As we get closer to the spring season, our Righetti Key Club has continued to give our members the opportunity to help the community. We have continued to have weekly meetings in order to relay information to our members to keep them updated. As for our service events, we were able to provide our members with a service event on February 6. In this, they were tasked with making baby hats for the Marian Hospital here in Santa Maria. It was a very fun and engaging event as we were able to let our creative sides take over to knit little hats! Upcoming, we have planned a service event on February 12 in which members will be participating in a road clean up in the Jersey Mike's Subs parking lot. We have been getting reports that the road/lot is full of trash and we took that opportunity as a way to make a service event. We hope to continue serving our community and help out as much as we can!
