“My favorite Key Club memory took place two years ago when I helped plant trees for the City. I came with friends early in the morning and worked till noon for a number of days. Now, I get to pass by those trees every day and see how the surrounding land flourishes.” -Alex Martinez, Pioneer Valley President “My favorite Key Club memory is when our club was volunteering to put on a kids' craft night and we were trying to demonstrate how to make butterflies out of empty toilet paper rolls. The kids were getting really creative with theirs (making spiders out of extra materials and such), and one of them suggested we try to make a little person out of one of the cardboard rolls. So the kids that had finished their craft, along with all of the Key Club members, went hunting through leftover materials and supplies to find ways to make a face, hair, and arms. It was a lot of fun. We named our little person Terri, and it became our mascot until COVID eventually shut the event down.” - Finn Westley, San Luis Obispo “My favorite Key Club memory would be volunteering at the Drive Thru Boo event, giving candy to kids who thought they wouldn’t have a Halloween that year (2020) and getting to see their excited faces!” -Galilea Zacarias, Santa Maria Recreation & Parks
