Hello Koalas! I hope you are having a great summer break. There are lots of events coming up to enjoy and have fun with you friends. However, do not forget to give service and help out. You are apart of this key club family, and we need your help! We serve you and many other people in this world. Now back to the newsletter. Events and fundraisers were springing up this month like water. June OTC was a great exciting event for you all to learn about positions and more. Food fundraisers were a blast to cool down the summer heat. With these fun events, some few people were able to climb to the top and be rewarded. You may congralate them on any upcoming events this month or next month. Don’t forget to read and enjoy this newsletter. -Amber Huynh Division News Editor

Aloha Division 25 East, I hope you are all having an amazing summer thus far. Personally, I just came back from an amazing experience in Indianapolis, Indiana where I attended International Convention alongside all of the k-family. It was an amazing opportunity where I was able to learn more about officer positions and key club in general. I made so many new friends from around the world and got to bond with the District that I serve. We voted on amendments and the new international board. It was such a unique experience that is different from District Convention so if you have the chance to go, I highly recommend going! Note: Next year’s International Convention will be help in bee-autiful Georgia. Fun Fact: our district mascot is the BEE! If you didn’t know, that is why we use BEE puns such as “you are bee-autiful” or “bee happy.” Other than that, I hope you are all keeping up with service in your home, school, and communities. Remember that there are many upcoming events from the club and division you are in! I hope that you will take these service opportunities to serve and to bond with your koala ohana! School will be starting soon so take this chance to spend your days wisely. I know that all of you are capable of being amazing leaders and I hope to see you at fundraisers, service events, and dcms in the near future! It’s amazing how fast summer is going. I would love if it lasted forever but time flies by our eyes! I hope you are all enjoying your time in Key Club and I hope to meet each and every one of you during this year! Don’t be shy because I definitely don’t bite because I’m not an alligator or a three year old baby! Have an amazing summer y’all!

June OTC “This past month the entire division joined together alongside with Division 25 West for our annual Officer Training Conference and it was a very special event not only for Monroe Key Club but also for everyone else. At Officer Training Conference, each and every one of us received the opportunity to attend a workshop of our choosing. Whether it be enhancing our knowledge on our specific position or learning the basic terminology of Key Club, it was definitely a learning experience for all. I personally was given the opportunity to present the Presidents Workshop alongside with the IP President of El Camino and it was a wonderful experience teaching others all that I have learned so far as well as meeting so many new people. Following Officer Training Conference, we had our Division Council Meeting where we discussed upcoming division events and gave individual club reports. I am proud to say that Monroe Key Club received Club of the Month, helping us start our summer of service! - Jemmy Moriera | Monroe President

Overall, it was a really good experience. Northridge Academy High School

Goals This month has been a rewarding month for Northridge Academy. We have finally reached our goal of setting up a fundraiser. This was a joint fundraiser held with Cleveland high school, located at Glow Zone. Northridge hasn’t had a fundraiser in a while, which is why this fundraiser meant so much to us. A lot of our board worked really hard setting this fundraiser up, along with advertising it (along with Cleveland High School). Although I think advertising was the toughest part, because once you set the fundraiser up you need to figure out a way on how to attract people to it. Nevertheless, both of our schools raised a total of two hundred fifty-six dollars with the large amount of people that came to support our fundraiser. This meant that each of our schools got one hundred twenty-eight dollars!

Officer Reflection President Ashley Tran

President Ashley attended the park tree care event on 6/13/15, and as always she brought her positive energy with her! You can tell she enjoys volunteering, just by the work she puts in. Ashley was constantly working and caring for numerous trees. Which is why she got all dirty from carrying mulch around and wet from carrying buckets of water (just like several others). At the end of our day Ashley always asks our board “Did you guys have fun” and we always reply with a simple yes because honestly we do enjoy volunteering for events like these, slowly but surely were impacting our environment. I’m sure this is the reason why Ashley asks us that question. She wants to know that we enjoy this as much as her. This puts a big smile on my face and I’m sure it does to the rest of our fellow key club members.

OFFICERS REFLECTION This first month of summer was certainly wonderful. Even without club meetings every week, our members always kept up with Key Club events and fundraisers. I am pleased to know that our members still took the time during their summer vacation to do so. An event that many members showed up to was Operation Gratitude. It was really fun reuniting the club and watching us all serve together once again. Also, this month at the Officer Training Conference and June DCM we had a total of nine members! I was so proud that this much amount of members wanted to learn about officer duties and join us as a division. Additionally, we had a Boba My Tea fundraiser, where the club was able to get together and drink a delicious, cold boba while supporting our club. Everyone really enjoyed it. Moreover, our board got together and bonded while golfing at Castle Park. Certainly, we talked about Key Club first, because at the end of the day our main priority is our club's success. Overall, June was a very exciting, fun month and we hope this continues the whole summer!

Officer Reflection: Secretary, Justin Nuval Recently we had a joint OTC and DCM with D25W. As this is my first year being an officer, OTC was a great learning experience and an opportunity to meet people from other schools who you haven't met before. In June, we also had Operation Gratitude where we made paracord bracelets and care packages for those serving our country. Everyone who went had a great time volunteering. I have high hopes for Birmingham Charter Key Club as we plan on having multiple fundraisers and service projects this upcoming term!
