DIVISION 16 EAST
LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR ASHLEY TRAN
Hello Division 16 East! My name is Ashley Tran and I will be serving all of you as your Lieutenant Governor for the 2016-2017 term. I’m very excited to see what this term has in store for us. I know that it might be weird that we’ve become 16 East, but think of it as a new beginning for us. I know that we will accomplish many things during this new term. Sadly, this will be my last year in Key Club, but I will make sure to do my best to make this a memorable year for all of you! I have already released DLT Applications so please BEE sure to check them out! I encourage all of you to apply for a position and I can’t wait to read all your applications. Don’t BEE afraid to step out of your comfort zone! Being on the Division Leadership Team will be a little stressful, but very rewarding at the end. For those of you that attended DCON, I hope you all had an amazing time celebrating a year of service! It is truly an unforgettable experience. I encourage all of you to go next year; it’s something that you don’t want to miss! Thank you Division 16 East for giving me the honor of serving as your Lieutenant Governor. L-O-V-E I LOVE MY D-I-V. Stay GOLDEN! If you ever have any questions about anything, feel free to contact me!

Northridge Academy High School Every Month Emma Pineda, Historian, goes to Everybody Reads to read to kids in Noble elementary school. Since she has been attending this event for so long she has gotten close to some of the kids in the programs and this bond motivates her to go and read to them each month. “Everybody reads is just a way for me to create a bond with the children and encourage them to read for fun.”

EveryBody Reads was another successful experience! I love waking up early on the weekends and educating the younger generations. I didn’t only teach, but I learned from the children as well. I learned sign language! It was satisfying to help out the children in our community that not only benefits them, but every single one of us.

James Monroe High School December Gift Wrapping was a success. Having a table set up inside of Sports Chalet was predicted to not have such a big outcome but the amount of presents wrapped proved otherwise. We had a few people who came in and saw what we were doing and decided to accept the offer. A big part of the annual event is for us to fundraiser for Project eliMiNaTe, and many people asked us what the cause was an it felt great to know that we are helping an organization with something amazing as saving lives.

“I learned that hard work is key to life. I also l learned that when it comes to events like these, everyone should work together and cooperate with each other. It was me, Amanda, Joshua, Kayla Sara, Katie & Jillian, who mainly worked at the water table. We were passing out water to the runners/walkers. It was a great experience working with new people and also with D25W who was also volunteering there (they were mainly just the “cheerleaders” motivating the runners/walkers.” -Megan, 12th grade
