Hello Koalas! Summer break has finally arrived which means you all have the ooporuntity to attend key club events. Events will be over flowing with joy like waves crashing on the sand. That wasn’t a great one, but I’m feeling the summer time happiness. You all should be, too! Each month, you will be able to meet people who are not in your divison. Friendships will grow more this summer break.Sadly, the seniors have graduated and are moving onto college. Hopefully, they have a Circle K there! Even if the seniors we love are or aren’t there, we can still have fun and get service done! Rasing money for PTP or Elimate is no bother when you have somone by your side to help you. Back to the newsletter, you will be able to find your LTG’s message to you. Past events that brought you all joy and laughter as more evetns are to come. People are rising to the top and getting awards at May DCM and banquet. This term is being a blast so far! I hope you all enjoy the newsletter. -Amber Huynh Division News Editor

Hello Division 25 East! It has been three months since District Convention and the installation of the new officers, and we are already achieving so much together. The amount of service and donations that we as a division raise, proves that the koalas are truly a force not the reckon with. Thank you for waking up for those early service events or even going to a pizza rev fundraiser if you are lactose intolerant. Thank you for the amount of dedication you put towards key club although it is summer. Summer has just started and I hope you are all having an amazing one thus far! Please tell me what you have been doing this summer at the next DCM, Service Event, or Fundraiser! I would love to hear about all the fun you are all having. Summer is my favorite month because of the weather and definitely the beach. Speaking of the beach! Region 7 Beach Clean Up is on July 18th at Dockweiler Beach. Our Region consists of 6 Divisions. Division 3 North Starfish, Division 3 South Wolves, Division 16 North Unicorns, Division 16 South White Tigers, Division 25 East Koalas, and Division 25 West Pufferfish! Key Clubbers from all over the Los Angeles County will be attending Beach Clean Up for a day filled with service and fun. You will be able to meet new friends while serving your community. This is my favorite service event because of the amount of friends you make while doing service in my favorite location. Hope to see you all there! Lastly, I am very open to new suggestions from everyone! If there is a service event of organization that you would like to help out, I would love to help them as a division. Together, we can accomplish so many things. I am so proud of each and every one of you. We are changing the world, together!

SWINGING FOR SERVICE Banquet was an amazing experience for me. It was my first time attending banquet. I’m glad that I got to spend some KOALAty time with my ohana. It was very emotional yet a joyful event even though it was the last time we could see all the seniors before they head off to college. My favorite part of banquet would be the talent show! I loved seeing people showing off their talent. I wish we could start this day all over again. It was an unforgettable experience. - Ashely Tran, Northridge Academy President

A Daily Reflection With Tech-Chair Emily Ontioveros “ Recently Kennedy key club held events such as May DCM, Everybody Reads, Pesto Pasta Fundraiser, and Beckford Family Fun Day. All of these event are great and each one brings a different aspect of fun to it. At May DCM members are able to meet people of other clubs and have fun while playing ice breakers My club also had a fundraiser at May DCM where we sold water balloons, it was such a great idea everyone had a blast. Everybody Reads is an amazing event, high schoolers get the chance to teach kids how to read while creating friendships. The Beckford Family Fun Day was a lot of fun. Seeing kids having fun trying to win cool prizes was priceless. “

Northridge Academy High School These past few weeks Northridge Academy has been participating in an organization called Patches. Patches is an embroidery service. In patches we sewed together scraps of fabrics and made them into a huge quilt. All these quilts were going to be sent to the women’s abuse center in LA. We also made little baby quilts for children in need. Most people who came to Patches didn’t know how to sew, so a lot of us struggled and made mistakes. But we learned from these mistakes and our outcome was amazing. Northridge Academy finished one huge quilt for the women’s abuse center and one little quilt for children in need. Our May DCM is a DCM that Northridge will never forget. May DCM was hosted by Kennedy high school. This DCM was unforgettable because Northridge Academy won ‘Club of the Month’! This is a huge accomplishment for us because before we were a club with few members. It was depressing going to events with only 3 people while other clubs had 16 people attending. However now Northridge has improved and it makes us so happy that were being acknowledged for our improvement. Nine people attended our May DCM, everyone was so proud of us, especially ourselves.

Officer Reflection- Christy Seguritan, Secretary Secretary, Christy Seguritan is given an officer reflection for all her hard work and dedication to Key Club. Everyone knows being secretary is a tough job because of the challenging MRF, which is why I got to hand it to her. The day we were at patches I got the chance to work with Christy, and she would always make jokes and be so happy about everything. I was not feeling well that day but Christy made me feel better with her positive energy. She’s a great person to work with! Christy is an ideal Key club member.

As an ofďŹ cers we are involved in more than just the service aspect of our club. And as students, sometimes we get overwhelmed. May was an amazing month for our club. We had many successful fundraisers all throughout the month. These would include menchies, get shaved, and skateland. There was also a selling of food in the mix, but those were the main ones. My favorite service event in the month of May was everybody reads because this time we did more than just read to kids. Instead, we got into groups and made presentations since it was the last everybody reads of the school year, they wanted to make it a special one. Another fun event was mend. We volunteer at mend every month and it is always very tiring, but very successful. Most of the time we are working in a small area and it give all of us members a chance to get closer, literally and ďŹ guratively. Even though it is the end of the school year, key club and the service events are not ending. This was a very successful month and I hope members continue to participate despite the start of summer vacation

OFFICER REFLECTION Skateland was a fun night! I got blisters, drank smoothies, burned calories, and got a chance to hang out with some of my favorite seniors. I also got to hang out with my Key Club and Division which is always fun. I went home happy and satisfied especially knowing that Cleveland and Monroe took home a $100 each. So I know the money is going to a good cause like PTP. -Jason Lee

Day of the Horse "Day of the horse was a fun and awesome learning experience. It was great to see so many people interested in equestrianism, the art of horseback riding. I enjoyed working at the arts and crafts booth with the children decorating horse shoes, seeing the excitement and joy it brought to the kids made me really happy. I'm looking forward to attending more events and new experiences"! - Jaecille Apsay

President Jesreen Ragual I just want to start off by saying how proud and honored I am to be the Key Club President of VAAS, serving my members and officers. VAAS High School is new to Key Club so we're a small club right now, not for long though. The term has barely begun and I'm already seeing a big difference in the amount of members in our club and their involvement . As President this makes me very happy to see the club growing and I want to continue to see our club grow and serve our community while having a great time doing so. I look forward to working with my officers and club members making VAAS Key Club a club everyone wants to be apart of !
