On the 24 of July we attended the Joint DCM at Sunset park and right off the bat Jaylene and I were lost. If it weren't for our PA Manicka we would have never found our way. During the meeting I was glad to see all three districts together- while also thinking to myself how could I have ever miss such a huge crowed. Our club, Canyon Springs High School was given the club spotlight and Ms. Schweikert was given

the advisor spotlight, it made me so happy and proud of my club. Afterwards everyone had a huge water balloon fight that left me soak in wet, but well worth it.

The most recent months of Key Club has been truly the best experience and accomplishments for me. Everyone on e-Board has never been enthusiastic and hardworking. Not only have we accomplished goals within our club but Canyon has also received recognition in the Division. Canyon

Springs and our advisor, Ms. Schweikert, received last month's spotlight! We are also doing very well in the division fire points. I am very proud of our team and could not be more excited about the upcoming year!

C LUB OF TH E MONT H BY M A NI CKA COLEMA N This month our club was presented the club of the month award. My fellow board members and I were so ecstatic that all our hard work had been noticed. We felt so proud of ourselves because out of all the clubs in division 28 north we were named as club of the month. I am beyond grateful to Jazlynn for recognizing our

hard work.

G OODBYE SUMMER BY NOR MA PAL MA As the summer comes to an end (sadly), we prepare for our key club year to move forward. Hopefully every club and every person has been having just an amazing and service filled summer as we had and as I had. Eboard plans for a meeting and our final get together on the 17th to continue to establish service ideas and plans for the following year. Where we will talk about open house and how we will advertise to the

upcoming freshmen or new students, how we will advertise in the first few months of school, and general modifications that we can make as club for a better and more successful year. E-board also prepares and hopes for a three-square community service; where we hope to help package the last rounds of backpacks that the program offers for kids who don't have school supplies. We

As an officer in key club I can honestly say it helps you come out of your shell. You get to learn so many new things and ways you can help your community. At first it's a little scary and nerve racking when all of a sudden you have to interact with a group of people but slowly but surely you get

hope to do so one of the upcoming Saturdays. And finally finishing up our individual service projects. So even if you haven't done anything as a club or individual it's never too late get your service on!

used to it. I take pride in being able to talk in from of my club without being nervous or stuttering. Key Club is an amazing club and I encourage many others to join too.

S UMMER SERVI CE BY GA BY SOTO Being the Canyon Springs Key Club Secretary I get to keep track of everyone’s hours. This allows me to see how much service our club is providing to the community. There’s been quite some busy bees this sum-

mer gathering a lot of service hours. A member that has really stood out to me over the summer is Gema Plancarte. Gema has done an amazing 55 HOURS of service this summer! I know we’re going to keep the ser-

vice momentum going straight through the school year!
