Hello Lavender Llamas! This is the last edition of the Llama Legends, and the last LTG Welcome. The term is coming to an end in just a few days, and I can't wait to celebrate all our accomplishments and make lasting memories with my favorite Llamas at District Convention. Our very very last event of the term will be our Division 2 North and South Banquet on April 27th from 4-8PM. The April DCM, the first DCM of the 2019-2020 term will be hosted by Christy and will occur in the first hour. After that, we will be celebrating all our accomplishments and I will be recognizing outstanding Key Clubbers within 2 South. You can find out more information with the link on the graphic for the banquet later on in this newsletter!

We have an April DWS coming up as well, and you can find more information and t sign-up link later on in the newsletter as well.

You have all been outstanding Key Clubbers, and I couldn't be prouder of you all. Thank you for your passion, dedication to service, and commitment this term. It's truly went by in the blink of an eye, and I can't thank you all enough for making ou community and world a better place.

If you will continue to be in Key Club next term, continue to challenge yourself! Become a Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum member. Go to more Division events, atten RTC! Reach out to people and get them to join Key Club!

For those that will be graduating, thank you for all your years in Key Club. I hope y consider joining Circle K if you will be attending college, or Kiwanis if you aren't! T journey of service doesn't stop here, and CKI and Kiwanis offers new, unforgettabl experiences that are different from Key Club experiences.

For the very last time, thank you for reading this edition of the Llama Legends. See you in the future :) With a Spark for Service, Vivian Luong Division 2 South Lieutenant Governor

ltg's welcome editor's note Greetings Llamas! APRIL IS FINALLY HERE! The spring season is upon us, and that means warm weather, flourishing trees, and blooming flowers. It also means.... DCON is coming soon and the 2018-2019 term is nearly over! This term has been completely unforgettable, and I have made so many lasting and profound memories thanks to all of you :) This is the FINAL month of the 2018-2019 term, and therefore, my last newsletter as Division 2 South's News Editor. Since the month of April has always reminded me of cherry blossoms, the aesthetic, color palette, and overall design of this edition is inspired by the beauty of these majestic plants. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this issue! I have felt such immense euphoria creating these newsletters throughout the whole term. It has been an undeserved blessing for me to have had this opportunity to not only improve my mediocre graphics skills, but also proudly provide everyone with updates on our legendary division and serve all the brilliant Lavender Llamas. I can definitely say without hesitation that my fourth and final year in Key Club has been my greatest! As always, if you have any comments/concerns, please let me know! With utmost gratitude, Vy Truong Division 2 South News Editor 05

lunar new year festival For the month of February, Alameda Key Clubbers were able to volunteer at 8 service events including Bay Breeze Run, Pick It Up, OACC Lunar New Year, OMCA Lunar Festival, Science Supply & Equipment Open House, Garden Creation and Maintenance at the Historic House, Food Pantry, and the February DWS. With the Lunar New Year coming up, we helped out at many Lunar New Year festivals including the Oakland Asian Cultural Festival Lunar New Year Event and the Oakland Museum of California Lunar Festival. At these two events, members helped out at the arts and crafts station. At the OMCA Lunar Festival, members helped visitors create the Year of the Pig pins while at OACC Lunar New Year Event, members helped visitors create and decorate paper lanterns. These events both catered to visitors of all ages and allowed our club to celebrate the new Lunar New Year together. We were not only able to strengthen our bond as a club but also give back to our community.

stanton tutoring Volunteers received happy news that Stanton tutoring would be going on until the end of the school year. We recently gained two new volunteers from our club that are willing to go help tutor as well. The kids got really excited when they first saw the new volunteers so it got really loud and uncontrollable after one point but we were able to get them back to work. Tutoring elementary students have taught us to be patient and how to discipline them without being too harsh. We’re still learning how to form the best methods to teach them responsibility so we’re trying out new things every week with the help of teachers’ advice. We hope to become better mentors by the end of the year and help the kids succeed in their academics.

chili cook-off This month at Encinal, we continued our monthly service at the Alameda Food Bank. It was our largest turnout for Food Bank this year, the 2018-2019 school year. Key Clubbers sorted food into crates, and then gave the food out to people in need. There were new helpers, and old vets like Noah Meeks. Noah stepped up to the plate and showed the new helpers the ropes. He kept all of the Key Clubbers in line and on task. The event wouldn’t have been this successful without him.
