As for Key Club, the term is just starting… I hope we can make many memories together once we’re in-person and fully vaccinated. With us having our first in-person DCM, I can see us really transitioning to seeing each other face to face again! I am so excited to get to know you all. Most of my days have been spent with my puppy, Kai, or doing schoolwork or Key Club! When I'm not working, I love to get fresh air because honestly, fresh air is just amazing for relaxing and resetting your brain. Please remember to take breaks, eat, and stay hydrated! EXECUTIVE ASSISTANTS Hiii my name’s Emily Tran and I am one of your executive assistants. I joined Key Club because I love the community and everyone here just has a passion for service and helping those around them. I wish to be able to spread my passion with others and allow people to share the same joy I feel within Key Club <3 Hi, I'm Gabriela Tadeo from Alameda Key Club! I will be serving as one of the Executive Assistants for this 2021-2022 term! I joined Key Club because doing service has always been an integral part of my life ever since I was little. After hearing about the great community that Key Club offers my freshman year, I immediately wanted to join! For this term, I hope to be able to increase the spirit within our division and continue to build the great community that I love being a part of.

DIVISION NEWS EDITOR YOOOOO LLAMAS! My name is Knives Nguyen from LPS Hayward. I'll be serving as your Division News Editor this term! My cousin originally introduced me to Key Club, but I quickly fell in love with its values and purpose. As this is my second year on DLT, I hope to make an even bigger impact on our division. Please say you'll read my newsletters! :D

DIVISION TECH EDITOR Hello! My name is Emily Chen and I'm the Division Technology Editor. I'm currently a Sophomore attending Kipp King Collegiate High School! I joined Key Club in hopes that I can meet new people and contribute meaningfully to the club. I hope that I will be able to be helpful and continue to make Key Club better for everyone! I can't wait to serve this term and become a part of this community. 08

SOCIAL MEDIA LLAMA Hi, my name is Rose Garcia and I’m the Social Media Llama this term! As your social media llama, I’ll be in charge of graphics, taking pictures at division events, and managing the division Instagram! I joined KIPP King’s Key Club because of the interclub events! It was so wonderful to be able to participate in service activities with my best friend from San Lorenzo High since we go to different schools and rarely get a chance to go to an event together. I continued in key club because of the sense of community I felt within it, even though I was originally nervous being a freshman among juniors. My hopes for this term are to be able to provide you the best graphics possible and continue to provide to others that same sense of community in service that key club has brought to me.

KIWANIS OUTREACH + RECOGNITION Hi! I’m Isabel Leung and I serve as your Kiwanis Outreach and Recognition Coordinator for the ‘21-‘22 term! You’ll most likely find me listening to music or complaining about how hot it is. I joined Key Club so I could give back to our community and serve others :) I love all the amazing people I met in Key Club, and I hope to meet many more before the end of the term! I’m most looking forward to (fingers crossed) more in-person service events this term!

SERVICE PROJECTS COORDINATOR Heya Key Clubbers! My name is Andrea Castro and I will be serving as your service project coordinator! I joined Key Club because I've always been passionate about helping and being involved in my community and Key Club is the best organization for all of us to do what we love: Volunteering! So I am excited to bond, serve and care with you! I hope that we can create a fun and safe environment where we can volunteer together and strengthen our communities. 09

FUNDRAISING COORDINATO Hi!! I’m Elvira Lu and I serve YOU as your Fundraising Coordinator and Alameda as their KC vice president!! I joined Key Club because I was inspired by my brother’s dedication to service - and stayed for all the hardworking teammates! I hope to fundraise for charities like PTP and MNT that do meaningful work, as well as build a strong community in our division!! I can't wait to lead with you all <3 Hi, my name is Kelly Quach, I’m a sophomore at Encinal High School. I’m excited to be on the DLT as a fundraising projects coordinator for this term. I was introduced to the club by friends and family, and later on, got attached to the club and community. I joined Key Club to better myself, being surrounded by hard-working and loving people. By people having a common goal like me, making a difference by helping others, and positively impacting the community, I hope to develop strong leadership skills and establish lifelong friendships and opportunities to give back to the community.

SPIRIT COORDINATO Hello! I’m Jennifer Guan and I proudly serve Division 2 South as one of the two Spirit Coordinators along with serving KIPP King as their president. Key Club has always allowed me to utilize my skills and energy to BE(E) the change the world needs, one step at a time. Initially, Key Club sparked my interest through service opportunities, however, the lovely people I met during my years as a member have encouraged me to continue pursuing my individual Key Club journey. Key Club has not only strengthened my skills as a leader but also as a friend! This term, let me be YOUR friend, and let’s lead Division 2 South to a new chapter with new memories :)

10

Hey everyone! My name is Kim Lund, and I'm so so so honored and excited to lead you as one of the two spirit coordinators for this term! I hope be able to meet and get to know each and every one of you (hopefully in person), and I am more than ready to see our division grow in spirit and passion for what we do through Key Club. I also love making new friends, so always feel free to reach out to me!

On Saturday, May 22nd, we were able to host our joint Division 2 North and South May DCM, where our new DLT was announced, and members were able to greet each other in person for the first time in over a year! With over 20 members in attendance, our division raised over $120 to help play our part in eliminating maternal neonatal tetanus. Through the fundraiser portion of our DCM, Key Clubbers could donate $1 to see a friend eat a slice of lemon, which allowed for a funny and entertaining day! Members also took part in icebreakers and got to socialize with our sister division. Recap Provided by Kim Lund, San Leandro President 12

ARTICLES VISUALS Kai Suwandi | Editor San Leandro At the beginning of April, San Leandro Key Club held its elections for the coming 2021-2022 term! There, we got to hear from amazing candidates who gave it their all during their speeches. And all of those candidates are now official SLKC officers! At the end of April, the board had our first meeting of the term where we discussed future service and bonding events for the month of May, as well as goals for the coming term. Some of those events include a game night on May 29th, and an interclub service event with KIPP King. Another exciting event in planning is a service event with CSUEB! We were also able to break the ice with each other and we had so much fun that we went an hour over the time we were supposed to adjourn the meeting!

ORIGAMI AND LETTERS

Katie Tanaka | Bulletin Editor Castro Valley In the month of May our club continued to host clubs at home over Zoom! We had a super fun and exciting event with Alameda. This event allowed all of us members and officers to make fun origami animals, and heartwarming letters to the patients at the Highland hospital. Giving back warms all our hearts and we hope to do more events like this again! Our outcome for this event was pretty good being that our Interclub was hosted on Mothers day weekend! Everyone pretty much just talked and listened to music while making origami which was super relaxing! Castro Valley Key club’s president, Emily Tran and officers from Alameda, are all coordinating to drop off letters and origami pieces to the hospital on May 15th.

POKEMON COOKIES +

COLOR A SMILE Asta Li | Editor Alameda For the month of April, we held 3 service events: Letters for Nursing Homes, Soul Box, and Color a Smile. Despite April being a slow month of service with members, our officers collaborated to make pokeball themed cookies for the fundraiser for PTP. It went smoothly, and we are grateful toward everyone who ordered/contributed to the fundraiser!

SERVICE MOVIE NIGHT Knives Nguyen | President LPS Hayward For our first service project of the term, we hosted a movie night where we watched the film “Soul” and did Freerice. We got to introduce the new board and bond through this event. Finally, we donated a total of 4,440 grains of rice and enjoyed a lovely movie.
