EDITOR’S NOTE Hello Division 2 South!

Welcome to the fifth issue of The Llama Legends! I hope you are all taking care of yourselves. This issue has been created by the one and only - Publicity Committee! They have been working incredibly hard and we hope you enjoy! Some last thoughts: make sure that you are taking care of yourselves by giving yourself the ability and time to rest and unplug. Try to spend a few hours a day doing a hobby/passion project that you enjoy! As fall rolls around, I hope you’re just as excited as I am to start wearing warmer clothes and Halloween! I hope you all take care and I wish you the best! A special shout-out to the Publicity Committee for putting together this newsletter. Closing,

Emily Chen Emily Chen Division Tech Editor (she/her)

LTG’S NOTE HELLO DIVISION 2 SOUTH! We are approaching the busiest, but most fun month of our Key Club term: October! We have THE event of the term: Fall Rally North! We're all headed to Six Flags and I hope that you all have ordered your spirit gear and are ready to get your spirit on at our spirit socials! Remember that you MUST learn and memorize these spirit cheers so that we can win the spirit stick at FRN and have even MORE fun! Please remember to stay respectful at all these upcoming events and remember that you are representing YOUR division! I want you all to be proud and be LOUD! This is our time to shine and show our amazing Lavender Llama spirit! I am so incredibly proud of all of us and the community we have. Thank you for all your participation and hard work these past few months! Also, remember to go on rides and just have an amazing day at Six Flags! Don't forget to take tons of photos (SOLO ONES WITH ME ARE REQUIRED) and make memories that'll last a lifetime! Because we have FRN and spirit socials, we'll be busier than EVER! That means managing your time well so that you finish all your schoolwork so that you can have fun! See you all there, llamas!

CLOSING,

Valentina Phung Valentina Phung D02S Lieutenant Governor (she/her)

DIVISION - WIDE SERVICE PB&J SANDWICHES The September DWS was so fun and there were so many new members attending! We made so many peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and I think this was also a great bonding experience as we each did our best to share utensils and spread peanut butter and jelly using forks. Some of us also worked around different methods to get the job done more efficiently, such as having half the people doing peanut butter on one slice and the other with jelly. Seeing people struggle to use the forks was honestly the funniest part but we all were able to get through it! Also the park was beautiful with a lovely pond and I hope we can go back! AUGUST 2021: LLAMAS ON THE GO!

AND VISUALS Katie Tanaka, Castro Valley Key Club HEY LLAMAS! For the month of August, we participated in the DCM: Llamas on the go! This is our third time having a DCM and it was IN PERSON!! Members and some officers got to bid on people from the DLT, spirit team, and other officers as well! All the money went to PTP! We had lots of people show up to this event, and everyone had a blast! 13

Kai Suwandi, San Leandro Key Club This August, San Leandro Key Club hosted the monthly Division 2 South DCM at Cherry Grove Park. There, clubs from around the division were caught up on what each club had done in the past month. Club recognitions were also given out to their respective clubs. Over 50 members attended, and we had many fundraisers being promoted at the same time such as DCM stickers and homemade cookies. Besides official business, everyone was catching up or meeting fellow Key Club members. We played an icebreaker as well, in which everyone was having a great time. We also held Llamas on the Go! where each club’s officers were bid on for either a safekey dare or to schedule a hangout. The bids went super high, and the highest bid was $170 for our LTG, Valentina! Overall we raised $670 for PTP, which was the highest amount raised for a fundraiser this term within the division. This month’s DCM was a complete success, and we can’t wait to attend next month’s DCM!
