ltg's welcome Hello Lavender Llamas! I hope you are all doing well! This past month has definitely been stressful with testing and AP exams being here but I am very proud of you all for making it through! I know it has been super stressful transitioning into the new term but take breaks and don't overwhelm yourself. Remember that Key Club should be fun and although we can't be together right now, just know that I am always here to support you!Use this time to focus on your loved ones and tell them how much you appreciate them. If there was one thing quarantine has made me realize it is the fact that I should've hugged all of you 1000x tighter at our last in-person DCM.Congratulations to do graduating class of 2020 and good luck to all of you. Happy reading and I hope you enjoy this month's division newsletter! Let your LIGHT shine, Jarlene Clavido Division 2 South Lieutenant Governor 2020-2021

Service at Home by: Keira Paige Barot, Alameda

For the month of April, Alameda Key Club was unable to hold service events out in the community due to COVID-19. However we still encouraged our members to do service by holding a “Service at Home event. The event included Letters to Nursing Homes, Chores at Home, Chalk on Sidewalks, and Cooking for Family. Near the end of the month we also held a Bingo Fundraiser where our board members did certain challenges if someone donated. The donations will go to PTP and we plan to continue this fundraiser throughout the month of May. The board members were ecstatic to hold this fundraiser and through promotions we were able to gain plenty of donations and support so far. In the visuals down below, you can see our Vice President, Amanda Lee, and Treasurer, Elvira Lu, completing one of the challenges where they pour flour on themselves. Despite the tragic mess, our officers enjoyed themselves and were glad that they were able to entertain the other members during these stressful times. Currently, we are continuing to promote our Bingo Fundraiser while coming up with new ideas for service at home. We look forward to serving this year! Issue 1 | Page 14

Service at Home by: Franklin Lui, Kipp King

In April, we held our Service At Home event due to the current events. Our Service At Home entails cooking/ baking for your family, cleaning around your home, video call with your family/ friends, emails of appreciation, and creating infographics for their favorite causes. Even though we are stuck in our home due to the current event our Key Clubbers are still doing service. Our Key Clubbers cook and bake some great food such as fried chicken, match cookies, seafood baked rice, and other great things. Some of them even sent messages of apprations to their teachers to thank them for all they have done. Also they video called some of their friends and family. I feel that this was a good service event to have because we are able to appreciate people that are still working during this time such as teachers and essential workers. Issue 1 | Page 15

April Submission by: Ariyan Rayan, LPS Hayward

In April, LPS Hayward Key Club was able to host two online events, the first was a service from home event, in which students were rewarded hours for doing things such as cleaning the house or writing to an LPS staff, we felt that by doing this, students will have something productive to do while staying at home, we also wanted to give students who were not able to complete their community service hours for the year, a chance to finish them. The second event that we had in April was a bingo fundraiser, in which students would pay the club, and chose an officer to do a dare from our bingo board of dares. In the month of April, the LPS key club was also able to have two board meetings in which we were able to discuss potential fundraising ideas, responsibilities of each board member and we were also able to discuss who would be attending future DCM.
