Q: What is your favorite aspect of Key Club? A: My favorite aspect of Key Club is meeting all the new people and going to events such as FRN, the awakeathon, and just meeting new people in general. Being in Key Club has made me a much more open person and more confident. Also, all the people that I meet in events are all really nice, funny, and chill. Q: What kind of service events do you like to attend? A: Service events I like to attend are events such as the food pantry etc, since I like to go with my friends, and all the service events that I've gone to have all been pretty fun except for a couple of events. Q: What is your favorite Key Club memory? A: My favorite memory of Key Club was going to my first FRN this year. Everything from riding the rides, to the cheering competition etc made this FRN one of the best experiences of my life. Getting to walk around Six Flags, screaming cheers at other divisions, and just in general having a good time with all my friends made this my most favorite Key Club memory for this term.

— Ashley Bernados —

Q: What is your favorite aspect of Key Club? A: After learning so much through key club, I’d have to say that leading others and making people happy is my favorite aspect of Key club. I’ve grown within the past year and i look forward for more events to come! Q: What kind of service events do you like to attend? A: I like events that have to do with packing food and materials because it’s simple and easy to do. It’s also an indirect way of strongly impacting others in need of these resources, which brings me joy and happiness. Q: What is your favorite Key Club memory? A: My favorite key club memory speech was elections because I was excited, yet scared for my future position for Key. I want the future of my club to be the best it can be, and I plan on becoming Vice President for the future of llamas! 13

oakland running festival It was early in the morning of the 23rd when volunteers woke up to get ready for the Oakland Running Festival. When I arrived at the Marriott Hotel in Oakland, volunteers were allowed to choose from a variety of colored tshirts, and assigned to give the runners shirts or bibs. I was amazed to see how big the venue was compared to past marathons I’ve volunteered at. The security guards also made sure that there weren’t too many people in at one time to avoid an overwhelming number of people from coming in at once. I was assigned to hand out t-shirts along with another volunteer from a different organization. Although the event lasted 5 hours, it didn’t feel very long because we were able to help and make friends with people of all ages, gender and sizes. The organizers of this event were also kind enough to give us water and candy when we felt hungry or a need for energy. Overall, the event was well organized with an ample number of volunteers at each booth so I was able to work comfortably without worries. If I am able to come back next year, I certainly would!

march elections In March, we held our elections for the 2019 term. It was time to make way for the next generation of officers, or so we thought. Most of the positions were filled by the same officers as last year. They all went unopposed so it went by quite fast. However, it all slowed down when it was time to elect the president. It was the only position where there was more than one person running. The stage was set for Lisa, Noah, and Sarah to duke it out with speeches. After each heartfelt speech, it was time to vote. After the head of the elections counted the votes, Sarah declared president for another term.

Dear Lavender Llamas,

ip

DNE's final closing

When I first came up with the name "The Llama Legends," I was an eager, exuberant junior who had some rather fantastical dreams about the heights that our new division could reach. However, with incalculable honor and pleasure, I can now confidently proclaim that we've all definitely lived up to this name. Cheering for the countless llamas recognized at DCON and walking across the stage myself, I found myself full of an ineffable feeling. I am excited to hear about how our "llama-cy" will live on, and I would like to advocate for everyone to make the most out of this new term by utilizing all "oppurtunities" given. Apply for DLT! And feel free to ask me questions about the role of DNE. This final issue is lavender llama themed, as a tribute to my favorite division and as my last chance to express my Division 2 South spirit. I have nothing but love and gratitude for all my supporters and readers of "The Llama Legends." I hope you liked this issue! And now, it is with melancholic sentiment that I accept that my journey as DNE, and a Key Clubber, is finally over.

Goodbye, Vy Truong IP Division News Editor 20
