Joint DCM By Lesley Wong of Franklin KC We don’t normally see other divisions around besides the annual Fall Rally or DCON. But something rare and amazing was created on November 20th: a joint DCM with Division 7 south and Division 27 North. Not only was this an opportunity to meet the cute grizzlies, we could also bond with them over the cape-making service event after the DCM as well as sing our hearts out at the Benefit Concert aimed to eliminate MNT. I luckily, got to meet some cool bears at Sheldon High School but sadly had to leave before the service event and benefit concert began. Besides the inconvenient ride from Stockton to Elk Grove, I hoped Division 27 North had a blast with the orange monsters. At the end of the DCM when both divisions took a group photo, I saw how many people were already mingling with other divisions and stepping outside of their comfort zone. We all may think we’re awkward monsters, but on the inside we really are just a bunch of cute cuddly bears who enjoy the company of others. I feel like this DCM did it’s duty to make ourselves more inclusive and I hope we, and many other divisions, are able to experience a DCM with people unalike.

Santa’s Gift of Service By Vincent Nguyen of Pleasant Grove KC I had a great time at Santa's Gift of Service. I got to meet new people as well as reuniting with friends that have already graduated from Pleasant Grove High School. Members were split into six different groups and stations, taking turns making various holiday items. We were tasked to make hats, bookmarks, and Christmas cards for the needy. I would definitely recommend members to go to next year's Gift of Service because it is definitely a great experience

Christmas Season By Elaine Phan of Sheldon KC In December, Christmas is always the highlight of the month as we put up decorations consisting of brightly colored lights, stockings, ornaments, and best of all sit around that large Christmas tree while sharing time with your loved ones unwrapping gifts. But for a non-festive family like mine, the ordinary schedule is stuck to, not counting the days I’ve actually decided to wake up early. However, this year in December I’ve gotten the chance to get outside the house and become more productive than usual; whether it’s through events relating to service or social activity with Key Club, I’m able to interact with others more often. Even when my soul starts to freeze in the cold temperatures, it warms my heart knowing the time I could’ve lay in bed is going towards something more of importance, helping our community and spending the day with fresh air. Of course it’s not bad being a couch potato at times, but if there’s ever a chance to enjoy the day outside, take it!

CIM By Emily Su of Florin KC This event was really cool. I have been going to more Key Club events with my friends lately and it is really fun. Sometimes it is a far drive, but it’s worth it to spend time with friends and help out the community. For the California International Marathon we passed out waters, cheered on runners, and carried items for the set up and clean up. Also there were so many groups of people who attended the marathon and it was really inspiring to see other people run since I am also a runner. It was really cool to see people wearing matching outfits with tutus and fun accessories. Afterwards my friends and I were exploring the Capitol.
