Well done Dr Chilufya Dear Editor,
A
LLOW me to congratulate the minister of Health, Dr Chitalu Chilufya on the work he and his team are doing in keeping all of us safe. It is not nice especially that there are many detractors making accusations over the donations to the ministry. So far the minister has managed to concentrate on his job without letting the detractors derail his team. Some people just hate progress and are not happy that the team is managing a tough situation very well. The opposition in Zambia are rumour mongers and their specialty now is fabricating lies which they share on social media. I think we need the men of God to pray for these leaders to be saved from their evil ways. These propagandists of fake news should be ashamed of
Dear Editor, IT should be every Zambian’s responsibility to wear a mask in public but it is so disheartening to see people still not taking the Coronavirus with the seriousness it deserves. It is with this point that I would love through President Edgar

Just like malaria, there will be deaths but we shall overcome. • Gbfc M Eso: So the issue of wearing masks continues. Ladies are in trouble because beauty will be hidden. Twambo Muuleya: The new normal? • Mike Chisunka: Life must continue. • Twambo Muuleya: Mike Chisunka, indeed Cde...we just have to embrace the new normal and move on đ&#x;¤?
Chingola’s new PF team should now unite the party Dear Editor.
themselves. They will never get anywhere with their lies. Most Zambians can see through their desperate lies. We have already been told where the donations in form
of money are being deposited and materials are being taken to the health professionals. I am praying that God keeps the health workers in good health so that they continue
COVID-19 IS REAL Lungu and the relevant ministry, that since the decree of putting on masks has not been taken seriously its about time that it was made criminal to go
in public without a mask. All those who fail to adhere to that should be prosecuted or fined because they are putting other people’s life at risk.
taking care of the nation. This is the only country we have and we need to take care of each other. Napwisha. TINAH MUKUKA MUTALE, Lusaka-based Youth Activist.
Lastly, I want to urge my fellow citizens to take Covid-19 seriously. With the cold season we are in, let’s protect ourselves and others by following the health guidelines given by the Ministry of Health. Thank you. KATMAN KATONGO.
• Baison Graham: We will eventually develop a herd immunity. God cannot let his people perish. • Charles Nawa Kachapulula: Finally they see the light. • Jan Ette: It's a new normal..we got to live with. • Debra Mutale: God forbid. • Emmanuel Mengo: It's new normal but some certain things must be put in place to reduce the death rate before people are allowed to go about their lives. • Joe Mutofwe: Malaria Cancer, Syphilis, Aids. Cholera, Ebola, Trauma, Alcohol, Kaloba, Amahule. Now Covid-19.‌ damn .... In one way or another we’re all bound to die! • Ivwananji Izukanji Nakamba: True, life has to continue. • Mwamba Patience Nakambale: I said it .. Just when I heard that the people that were treated in China still tested positive regardless of showing no symptoms. • Thembinkosi Ruwe: I saw this coming. • Shalala Oliver Sepiso: I have been saying this for one month now. I am happy the President listens to views like mine. • Chimwemwe Kalobwe: Shalala Oliver Sepiso, we just have to live with it.
FIRST and foremost I write to congratulate the new Patriotic Front leadership in Chingola led by Felix Mulenga, who was elected new district chairman in the just ended party elections. Mr Mulenga is coming from a wealthy political background as a dedicated and loyal member who even amid non recognition, continued toeing the party lines in the background and have no doubt he will live to the people and the party’s expectations, not his own. I therefore now write to appeal to him and the new team to put more energy in uniting the party leadership before settling to give light to the whole district on the way forward. Going into the just ended district party elections, the district was more divided with fighting each other than advancing the party manifesto to the disappointment of the general membership. This is not the time to
pull shots as to prove who is who but to work as one family because the political scene is getting hostile as we get closer to 2021. People especially the mostly used ones always, the majority youths and women are looking for visionary leaders who will change their status quo. With soberness and open ears and eyes, the Felix Mulenga executive can surely go into 2021 general elections more united and with vigour if only the people they lead are taken on board. Note that leadership is many times not about education, money or popularity but how best one engages those he/she is elected to lead for the benefit of a common cause and goal. Of course rotten eggs will always be there in every political dispensation, hence your role is how to harness them into being useful than being the poison you don’t want. WISDOM MUYUNDA, Chingola.
