A Season of Giving
Christmas is the most fabulous time of the year, especially NOW! I can live and experience all the Joys of Christmas through the eyes of my five Grandchildren. All which are under five years old. The kids help me see the true nature, the purity, and the wonder of celebrating Christmas. It is surely a humbling time of the year.
We at Gasper, have two of the most beautiful and TOP Christmas Shoppes in the area. Please stroll in and visit our Furlong and Richboro Stores! We have no-cost events during the season. We provide family photos in Santa’s Workshop and also Santa Arrives on a Firetruck (see page 6 for details.)
One of my most favorite events at Gasper, that takes place during the holiday season is Gasper Gives. We at Gasper, choose a local family that we donate gifts and gift cards to, we try to make their Christmas extra special. I am always moved and touched by the generosity of our Gasper Family employees. Last year we selected two families to help make the season brighter. The mere giving back in this way has been such a positive and joyful adventure for all of us. Not only were we strongly affected by this wonderful and emotional experience, the families impacted were extremely grateful and emotional as well. We are blessed.
Here at Gasper, we need your help to hopefully identify local families that would benefit from our Gasper Gives program. This past July while I was in Atlanta, Georgia for a buying trip, my daughter Dana was approaching her baby’s due date. I was totally prepared to get a quick flight out to home if need be. (Even at any flicker of a sign she may give birth.) Luckily, we welcomed a new baby boy (her second child) a couple of weeks later. Balancing work and family is just what you must do in order to run a family business like Gasper!
Since we are celebrating the birth of our new baby boy this year, I also want to share my gratitude for the continued growth of our business. We owe this success to our wonderful, dedicated staff and our loyal customers like you; we sincerely appreciate your support.

Contrary to what you might think, Fall is one of the best times of year to plant trees and shrubs. When plants are transplanted in their dormant phase, they are less likely to experience transplant shock. The cooler fall temperatures and increased rainfall means that newly transplanted plants are less stressed and
easier to care for. In addition, just because the plant is dormant above ground, does not mean that the plant is dormant below ground. It will continue to send out roots into its new home.

BEFORE: The location of this historic Bucks County barn adjacent to the pool made it the perfect pool house alternative, the only thing that was lacking was some relief from the sun.
AFTER: Gasper created shade with two symmetrical PVC wrapped pergolas which cover an outdoor dining and seating area. A new stone masonry cook station with plenty of bar seating transforms the area into an entertaining area. The pool patio was upgraded from hot concrete to a barefoot friendly, natural stone…Travertine.

BEFORE: The smaller patio had no cover or shade and an existing pool with mismatched concrete paving.
AFTER: Under cover of a large Gasper-built metal seamed roof are three outdoor living areas: a masonry cook station with a professionalgrade Lynx grill, an outdoor dining area, and an outdoor seating area with a new masonry wood-burning fireplace. The roof has overhead fans and outdoor heaters which makes the space usable year-round.

Three’s A Charm
BEFORE: Our homeowners had always envisioned their home with a pool and accompanying pool patio.
AFTER: The pool’s design is a masterclass in simplicity and elegance, with its rectangular shape. The spacious area around the pool is thoughtfully designed to offer ample seating, creating an inviting space for relaxation or engaging conversations.
A Step Up
BEFORE: This front walkway accessed the driveway with a flight of very steep concrete stairs.
AFTER: A series of wider, bluestone steps and landings make the change in elevation easier to traverse and more welcoming. Meticulously hand- stacked stone walls, which retain the steep grade, are both functional and beautifully constructed.
Deck It Out
The existing deck needed renovation and did not utilize the space under the deck to connect to the existing pool area.
AFTER: The deck was reconstructed using composite decking material to minimize future maintenance. The deck stairs were moved to the other side of the deck to create a larger dining patio. The area beneath the new deck was paved to provide space for seating, an outdoor TV, and new bar top seating with a grill. Additionally, a ceiling was installed beneath the deck to fully cover the area, making it usable even during rainy weather.

BEFORE: This previously built Gasper patio needed an area under cover to escape the rain and sun.
AFTER: Gasper's phase two work for this homeowner involved expanding the existing patio to seamlessly increase the square footage and adding a decorative block seating wall. The Gasper-Installed Pavilion Roof Kit not only enhances the beauty of

BEFORE: The only way to walk around to the back patio was down a steep grassy slope.
AFTER: The walkway from the garage to the backyard is made of natural stone slab steps and a bluestone pathway, ensuring safe, easy, and enjoyable access. Beautiful flowering plantings border the new walkway, and low voltage path lights illuminate the way during evening hours.
A Perfect Landing
BEFORE: Steps from the covered deck led to a steep grassy plain where there was no desirable space to sit.
AFTER: A new paver patio and walkway connects the base of the deck stairs to the walkout basement doors, allowing fluid movement throughout the different outdoor living areas. An aging decorative block planter was replaced with an elegantly curved masonry stone seat wall/planter.

BEFORE: There was no shade to be found anywhere on this paver pool patio.
AFTER: The only thing we did on this project was to add a pergola with a shade and screening system, but it significantly improved the usability of the space. The top shades can be easily opened or closed to provide overhead coverage as needed. Additionally, the side screens can be raised or lowered depending on the sun exposure required. The screen's opacity allows it to be lowered without obstructing the view of the pool.

Hi Eli. Is it okay to just leave my patio furniture outside during the winter months?

You did not mention what type of furniture you have, so let me start by saying…it depends. Some pieces like teak and polymer are fine to leave outside all winter uncovered. Other pieces such as extruded aluminum or woven resin (which have an extruded aluminum frame) can be left outside but should be covered.
Your cushions are an example of something that should NEVER be left outside. For some reason mice and squirrels are especially attracted to outdoor cushions and we have seen a lot of damage done to cushions left outside during the winter, even if they are covered. In fact, sometimes the covers hide that fact that a squirrel is making a winter nest and you do not even notice the damage until the spring, when it is too late. So always bring in your cushions and store them inside.
Remember, your furniture was a sizeable investment. It’s important to learn how to protect that investment.
