RESÚMEN
En la actualidad, uno de los principales motivos de la consulta odontológica es la estética, haciendo mayor la demanda de tratamientos de blanqueamiento dental. Existen diferentes técnicas las cuales se basan en el uso de peróxidos de hidrógeno y peróxido de carbamida en diferentes concentraciones. El resultado del tratamiento de blanqueamiento dental puede verse afectado en pacientes que consumen bebidas pigmentantes durante el mismo. El objetivo de este trabajo consiste en evaluar el efecto in vitro de la exposición a Coca- Cola, café y vino tinto post blanqueamiento dental, se utilizaron 45 piezas dentales divididas en grupos según el gel blanqueante usado y la bebida a la que se expuso. La exposición a café y vino tinto después de un tratamiento de blanqueamiento dental con peróxido de hidrógeno o con peróxido de carbamida, causa una regresión de color, toma el color previo a realizar el tratamiento, alterando el resultado de este. El consumir Coca-Cola afecta gravemente el color dental habiéndose realizado el blanqueamiento dental o no.
ABSTRACT
At present, the main reason for dental consultation is aesthetics, increasing the demand for tooth whitening treatments. There are different techniques which are based on the use of hydrogen peroxides and carbamide in different concentrations. The outcome of teeth whitening treatment may be affected in patients who consume pigmenting drinks during treatment. The objective of this work is to evaluate the in vitro effect of exposure to Coca- Cola, coffee and red wine post teeth whitening, 45 teeth were used divided into groups according to the whitening gel used and the drink to which they were exposed. Exposure to coffee and red wine after a teeth whitening treatment with hydrogen peroxide or carbamide peroxide, causes a color regression, before performing the treatment, altering the result of this. Consuming Coca-Cola seriously affects tooth color, whether teeth whitening or not.
