Since its founding, DeAngelis Diamond has followed an organic expansion model based on growing markets. Over the years we have opened several locations across multiple beautiful cities and states. The doors to our Detroit division opened in 2018 and it has been our honor to have served the region since then.

Our skilled team of experts possess the knowledge and expertise necessary to handle everything from small-scale build-outs to large-scale complex projects. We use state-of-the-art equipment and cutting-edge technology to ensure that every aspect of the construction process is efficient and precise. DeAngelis Diamond’s Detroit office is lead by Dave Kovalik. Dave started his career with DeAngelis Diamond in 2005 and brings over 19 years of construction leadership experience and expertise to his division. Dave works closely with our clients to understand their unique needs and provide tailored solutions that exceed their expectations. He inspires the team to approach every project with the goal of delivering every project on-time and within budget, without compromising on quality.

DIVISION PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

LENOX CENTER AT ALFRED B. FORD PARK

DETROIT, MI | 9,000 SQ. FT. PUBLIC

The all-new Lenox Center at Alfred B. Ford Park replaces the old facility of the same name with an ultra-modern recreation center. The new 9,000 sq. ft. building features the construction of a single-story metal, exposed wood, brick, and glass structure, intended to be a gathering space during all seasons of the year. Interior spaces are designed for flexibility and include areas easily transformable for everything from indoor sports to parties. The project also features a kitchen and classroom space that allows for light food prep, and library space for a cozy area to read, work on homework, or just relax after a long day outside.

US SIGNAL

MANUFACTURING

BELLEVILLE, MI | 25,000 SQ. FT.

The US Signal Data Center is a modern and efficient facility designed to house and manage large amounts of electronic data. The concrete, precast walls both sped up the construction timeline and provided durability and stability to the structure, while the raised flooring in the data center area allows for easy access to cables and other infrastructure components.

The data center area occupies the majority of the nearly 25,000 sq. ft. building and is specifically designed to house servers, storage devices, and other critical IT equipment. The raised access flooring eases installment, maintenance, and replacement of cabling and infrastructure components, while also providing a controlled airflow to help regulate temperature and maintain a consistent environment.

FIREBOAT STATION IMPROVEMENT

DETROIT, MI | 600 SQ. FT.

The renovation of Fireboat Station 1 featured key improvements to the existing features that bring the station up to modern code. The main focus of the project was designing and constructing an entirely new seawall to reinforce the grounds alongside the Detroit Riverfront. Several interior components were renovated to update the living and work spaces.

CITY OF NOVI JESSICA’S SPLASHPAD

NOVI, MI | 44,000 SQ. FT. PUBLIC

Building entertainment for years to come with the all-new Jessica’s Splashpad for the City of Novi. The construction of the expansive platform where the splashpad will sit includes connections and openings for water spouts and fixtures. Child-friendly finishes to the surface make Jessica’s Splashpad the perfect place for the community to entertain their children during the warmer months. An accessory building features state-of-the-art technology that controls and supports the splash pad.

ARTHREX SOUTH CAROLINA

MANUFACTURING

PENDELTON, SC | 200,000 SQ. FT.

Arthrex’s all-new South Carolina campus is an expansive 200,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility. The ground-up construction encompassed various phases, including site preparation, foundation work, structural framing, and roofing, among others. A key feature of the project was the construction of 2 state-of-the-art clean rooms within the facility.

ARTHREX AMISC EARLY LEARNING

EDUCATION

PENDELTON, SC | 11,000 SQ. FT.

Ground up construction of an 11,000 sq. ft. early learning, childhood development center located on Arthrex’s South Carolina Campus. Construction includes concrete block, structural steel, TPO roofing, as well as two playgrounds, sun shades, artificial turf, and a full kitchen for meal preparation.

DeAngelis Diamond has provided construction management services to GenesisCare, formerly 21st Century Oncology, for numerous years across several states. Projects have ranged from tenant improvement renovations to equipment change outs.

CITY OF DETROIT CLEMENT CROWELL RECREATION CENTERS

Expansion and interior renovation to both the Clemente and Crowell Recreation Centers in Detroit. This project featured 2,000 sq. ft. of interior renovations with exterior components. Work included upgrading the art and dance rooms, bathroom renovations, locker room renovation, office and administration space expansion, and installation of new electric vehicle stations.

ARTHREX X-RAY BUILDING

Ground up construction of a new 28,600 sq. ft. facility on the existing Arthrex South Carolina campus. The new building acts as a sterilization facility for the greater manufacturing capabilities of the entire campus.

CITY OF DETROIT - PATTON RECREATION CENTER

The renovation of the Patton Recreation Center featured upgrades to several key components of the center to modernize its facilities. The gymnasium electrical and flooring were replaced and updated to feature the most up-to-standard finishes in the industry. The facility’s dance studio was updated with new finishes and the indoor pool ceiling was demolished and replaced. New, updated HVAC equipment and controls were also key features of the renovation work overall.

The Extra-Space Storage facility was a ground-up construction project managed by DeAngelis Diamond. The new facility spans nearly 72,000 sq. ft. and featured 3-stories of climate controlled storage space.

DETROIT, MI PUBLIC

CITY OF DETROIT - BUTZEL/HEILMANN RECREATION CENTER

For this project, DeAngelis Diamond carried out extensive interior and exterior renovations for both recreation centers, involving various upgrades such as new flooring, cabinetry, interior finishes, painting, landscaping/irrigation, installation of new planters, exterior concrete work, metal panels, and murals.

CENTERPOINTE HOSPITAL OF COLUMBIA

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH

COLUMBIA, MO | 56,000 SQ. FT.

The CenterPointe Hospital project consisted of the construction of a new 72-bed behavioral health hospital with additional support spaces for inpatient care. This project was a true collaboration between the construction team, architect, and owner. The project duration spanned a total of 13 months, including final inspections, during which the construction team worked closely with the architect and owner to ensure that the project was completed on schedule and within budget.

The construction team implemented a variety of strategies to ensure that the project ran smoothly, including incorporating LEAN principles during both the design and construction phases. This helped to streamline the construction process and minimize waste, which ultimately saved time and reduced costs.

RIVER, SC | 179,000 SQ. FT.

This project consists of a 154-unit senior living community encompassing 89 independent living, 44 assisted living and 19 memory care apartments. Additionally, New Haven features multiple dining venues and private bars, art studios, card rooms, a library, a resort-style pool, hair and nail salon, and exercise and therapy facilities. Highlights include a swimming pool and a separate guest suite for visitors.

NORTH SPRING BEHAVIORAL HEALTHCARE

BEHAVIORAL HEALTH

LEESBURG, VA | 8,500 SQ. FT.

This project featured a 8,500 sq. ft. expansion on an existing behavioral health hospital. The center remained fully open and operation while our team worked to expand the facilities to include space for 15 new patient beds, additional staff support spaces, and treatment rooms.
