RSW AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL TOWER & TRACON BUILDING

The towering new Air Traffic Control Tower at RSW stands at a majestic 200 feet, much taller than the 32-year-old structure it replaces. This state-of-the-art facility is not only almost twice the height of its predecessor, but also double its size. A $70 million investment in the future of travel is currently underway at SRQ Airport. An entirely new terminal with five new gates will be the centerpiece of the expansion, but that’s not all. Four temporary parking lots, a new baggage claim, and a new ground check space are also in the works. This construction project is bringing a much-needed upgrade to the facilities, and we can’t wait to see it come to life.

After 16 months of hard work, the Punta Gorda Terminal Expansion project reached its successful completion. With four phases in total, this project included a stunning 40,000 sq.ft. addition to the existing terminal building, a complete remodel of the terminal for a total area of 58,000 sq.ft., and updates to both the conveyor belt system and chiller plant. This impressive feat was recognized by the Lee BIA Summit Awards, which awarded the project the title of Best Commercial Contractors Project - Public Works.
