L’OSTERIA DI CASA PEPE

a luglio Casa Pepe raddoppia a Trieste: in via Nordio 12, nella trasversale di viale XX Settembre, nel cuore alberato della città, apre l’Osteria di casa Pepe. “È la nostra risposta all’emergenza Covid che ha anche trasformato il nostro rapporto con il cibo, almeno quello consumato al ristorante” Commentano i titolari Pietro Savarese e Adi Sade. La squadra di Casa Pepe, abituale punto di riferimento nella zona del Tribunale in via Coroneo, lancia adesso la sfida di un’osteria ancora più “ruspante”. Cosa troveranno allora turisti e triestini nel nuovo menù? “I piatti della cucina povera della tradizione italiana” spiega lo chef dell’osteria. E noi aggiungiamo che quel ‘povera’ va tradotto come tradizionale, genuina, figlia di quella cucina mediterranea che ha fatto la fortuna di molti ristoranti nel nostro paese. All’Osteria di casa Pepe, accanto alle immancabili pizze (quelle tradizionali, ma anche molte... rivisitate!) troveremo la pasta al forno nelle sue tante declinazioni, piuttosto che la Norma di siciliana memoria o la parmigiana di melanzane, ma anche le tante minestre che è sempre più difficile trovare nei sofisticati menù di molti ristoranti. Un tuffo nel passato, con la cucina mai dimenticata di nonne, mamme e zie. E non solo meridionale, precisa Savarese. “Abbiamo in mente anche i piatti della tradizione triestina” da proporre pure ai molti turisti che in questi anni ci hanno fatto visita. Ma, la risposta a Covid, dove sta? “Nella sfida di aprire un nuovo locale in un momento particolare e delicato, per non dire difficile, come questo. Noi pensiamo positivo e soprattutto cercheremo di venire incontro alle richieste della clientela”. Quella locale soprattutto, in 46
queste prime settimane della cosiddetta fase 3 ha forse ancora voglia di stare tranquilla a casa ed ecco che l’Osteria di casa Pepe proporrà un efficiente servizio di delivery con pasti per asporto a prezzi contenuti. Se poi i mesi estivi suggeriranno comunque di uscir di casa, in via Nordio almeno una ventina di coperti saranno garantiti anche all’aperto, in totale sicurezza.

rom July Casa Pepe doubles in Trieste: in via Nordio 12, in the cross street of viale XX Settembre, in the tree-lined heart of the city, the Osteria di casa Pepe opens. “It is our response to the Covid emergency that has also transformed our relationship with food, at least the food consumed in the restaurant,” comments the owner Pietro Savarese and Adi Sade. The team of Casa Pepe, the usual point of reference in the area of the Court in Via Coroneo, now launches the challenge of an even more “rustic” osteria. What will tourists and
people from Trieste find in the new menu? “The dishes of the simple cuisine of the Italian tradition” explains the chef of the osteria. And we add that the “simple” must be translated as traditional, genuine, the result of the Mediterranean cuisine that has made the fortune of many restaurants in our country. At the Osteria di casa Pepe, next to the inevitable pizzas (the traditional ones, but also many... reinterpreted!) we will find the baked pasta in its many variations, the traditional Sicilian “Norma” or the eggplant parmigiana, but also the many soups that are so hard to find in the sophisticated menus of many restaurants. A plunge into the past, with the unforgettable cuisine of grandmothers, mothers and aunts. And not only southern cuisine, Savarese points out. “We also have in mind Trieste's traditional dishes” to be served to the many tourists who have recently visited us. But, where is the answer to Covid? “It is the challenge of opening a new restaurant in a particular and tricky moment, or rather difficult, like this one. We think positive and above all we will try to meet the requests of our customers”. Especially the local one, in these first weeks of the so-called phase 3, perhaps Triestine's citizens still want to stay quiet at home and the Osteria di casa Pepe will offer an efficient delivery service with take-away meals at reasonable prices.
