Christmas Card Winners Announced Member for Mulgoa, Tanya Davies MP has announced the winners of the 2014 Mulgoa Christmas Card Competition. Tanya Davies approached local schools earlier this year to invite them to be a part of the competition. All interested students submitted artworks, competing to be the winning entry to be used as Tanya Davies' Christmas card that will be sent to various members of our community. The students were asked to recognise the special Christmas season in some way and Tanya Davies encouraged students to be creative, humorous or reflective of the local area or local people. The overall winner this year was Miss Aiyana Cabanero, a Year 5 student from Montgrove College, who submitted a traditional Christmas drawing of mother Mary cradling her baby Jesus. Aiyana was presented with a framed certificate and a $100 voucher to ToysRUs in front of her fellow students at afternoon assembly last week. As well as the overall winner, Tanya Davies awarded winners from each of the following three categories and presented them with a framed certificate and a gift voucher to ToysRUs: Most Creative – Gemma Benson from Clairgate Public School, who continued ...Pg.11

Huge Crowds Flock to Mulgoa Rise Community Celebration Over 2000 Western Sydney residents, many of whom are new residents of Mulgoa Rise estate, joined in celebrations last month to mark the official opening of the new Active Open Space precinct at Mulpha Norwest’s Mulgoa Rise estate. The precinct comprises two sporting fields, two playgrounds, picnic areas, cycle and walkways. The Community Festival was held on the new sporting fields on Bradley Street Mulgoa, with local residents and their families enjoying a great day of fun and festivities, complete with free barbecue food, entertainment, live music and rides. Radio 2WSFM broadcast live from the estate, and the attendance of a number of first grade players from Penrith Panthers practising ball skills with the children was a major drawcard for many young families. Two lucky winners were drawn for a Gold Family Panthers membership for 2015 and framed Panthers jersey. The Local Member for Mulgoa, Mrs Tanya Davies MP, together with the Mayor of Penrith Council, Councillor Ross Fowler, formally opened the new Active Open Precinct at a ribbon cutting ceremony. Mulgoa Rise will provide quality housing for 600 families when complete. Nestled at the foothills of the Blue Mountains, Mulgoa Rise has its own sporting fields and parks on the estate, with golf courses, lakes and rivers located nearby. Mulgoa Rise is being developed by Mulpha Norwest, developers of the international award-winning Norwest Business Park, and the highly acclaimed Bella Vista Waters residential estate. Mulpha Norwest is part of Mulpha International, whose portfolio includes Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast, Hayman Island and the Intercontinental Hotel. Mulpha Norwest General Manager, Tim Spencer, said it was
wonderful to see residents of the estate using and enjoying the community facilities on site. “Mulpha Norwest is committed to building vibrant, familyfriendly communities in all our new residential estates, and Mulgoa Rise is a great example. We were delighted to see such a strong show of community participation and support from new residents at the Festival, Mr Spencer said.

Happy Christmas! At its centre, Christmas is about the precious, special gift that God gives us in Jesus. Yet, some people think that all that Jesus stuff is something that they’ll look at later. They put off thinking about Jesus. They put off getting to know him. And what is really sad is that so often when people do this, they never get around to knowing how good it is to have friendship with Jesus. They miss out on enjoying a really great gift. Others at Christmas are simply caught up in the frills and thrills of it all. The parties. The lights. The Christmas trees. The presents. But what happens is that they miss out on what Christmas is really all about. They miss out on this precious gift that God gives us in Jesus. Sadly, they just put to one side the whole reason that we’re able to have Christmas. Then there are others who are just sick of the whole thing. They’re the bah humbug people. They’re the people who don’t want anything to do with Christmas let alone God’s great gift that he gives us in Jesus. Jesus, he’s for someone else and not for me! But there’s a fourth type of person, and I really do hope that this Christmas, that this will be you! There’s the person who sees how good the gift of Jesus is. It is the person who treasures this gift from God. And just like you’d enjoy a good gift over and over, so too do these people want to get to know Jesus more and

more. They treasure what Jesus offers. They treasure forgiveness with God. They treasure peace with God. They treasure the promise of eternal life – life forever with God. By following and getting to know Jesus they treasure how good it is to finally be living the way that God meant for us to live. This Christmas can I really urge and encourage you to accept the good gift that God gives us in Jesus. Get to know him. Learn and experience how good it is to follow, trust and put your hope in him. At Glenmore Park Anglican Church, we’d love to see you at one or more of our special Christmas Services (see our ad below) and celebrate Jesus, God’s great gift to you all. Rev. John Lavender

A Small Act of Kindness‌
I mentioned in my November column when I wrote about the benefits of celebrating with a church community that I would be focusing this month on why the Church asks us to attend weekly for worship. Of course, to write about that in December would mean putting aside a reflection on Christmas! That being so, I will postpone talking about the importance of weekly worship until my first column in 2015. The Christmas story is one which is familiar to most people who were brought up in a Christian household, even one which is only nominally Christian. We could even look beyond the Christian faith and acknowledge that many non-Christian people would know the basic story behind the birth of Jesus and the circumstances in which the Son of God came into the world: Mary conceiving Jesus through the Holy Spirit, journeying with Joseph to Bethlehem while pregnant, giving birth to Jesus in a stable and then being visited by shepherds and the men from the East, traditionally depicted as the “three wise men. This story is one which has entranced people for many centuries, children and adults alike. But as is always the way with scripture, if we simply hear the same story each year without looking below the surface we deprive ourselves of the opportunity to be nourished in a more meaningful way. Consider, for example, the line from Luke’s Gospel (which gives us the most comprehensive account of the birth of Jesus) which tells us that “...Mary wrapped the infant Jesus in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them at the
inn. (Luke 2:7) Looking deeply into the Christmas story we might ask ourselves who it was that allowed Mary and Joseph the use of a stable that night. Though this person never rates a mention in the Gospels we can see that his or her small act of kindness played a crucial role in the Christmas story, and thus in our salvation. It is almost certain that this person had no idea of the implications of their act of kindness and that they were simply being generous and helpful towards a couple in desperate need as, hopefully, any of us would. This might give us the encouragement we need in our day-to-day living to ensure we take every opportunity to express loving concern for others. After all, just like the person who allowed Mary and Joseph use of the Bethlehem stable that fateful night over two thousand years ago, we just never know the enormous good that can come from one small and seemingly insignificant act of loving kindness. May I take this opportunity to wish each of you, you family and loved ones, a truly blessed Christmas and a New Year filled with an abundance of God’s blessings. Christmas Mass times (each Mass preceded by 30 minutes of Christmas Carols) Wednesday 24 December: 7:00pm (families), 9:30pm and 12:00 midnight Thursday 25 December: 9:30am. Enquiries: 4737 9735. 5 minutes with BRITTANIE SHIPWAY I had the chance to catch a quick 5 minutes with local (and truly wonderful) singer and songwriter, Brittanie Shipway who is set to release a new single this month. Here's what she had to say. What is the name of your new single? It’s Over When and where will it be released? December 16, with an exclusive Single Launch at Hanks Seafood Restaurant in Penrith Panthers. (Hop onto Brittanie’s Facebook page for tickets) What are the musical influences behind the single? I definitely wanted my first single to be a big pop ballad, something that showed off vocal ability but still had relatable content. It’s a cross between an Ariana Grande and Jessica Mauboy ballad; it’s a different sound from the musical theatre that people heard from me on The Voice, but it’s a song that encapsulates a lot of the pop charts at the moment. Where will the music video be filmed? It was filmed last month and set on the beautiful Fernhill Estate; it just seemed like the perfect setting for the single.
Will you be releasing the single on iTunes? It’s Over will debut in iTunes on December 16 and the music video will be available on my YouTube channel (Brittanie Shipway) before it hits the silver screen! There’ll be heaps of giveaways and prizes available on my Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts before Christmas, so make sure you follow to keep up to date. Tell us about your plans for 2015. There are so many opportunities on the horizon, it’s just about going after them! Songwriting is definitely something I would like to pursue further; I’m currently working on a jazz-pop song along the lines of a Meghan Trainor and Paloma Faith. I’ve also fell in love with the world of cabaret, and would love to follow in my coach (from The Voice Australia) Kylie’s footsteps and perform at next year’s Mardi Gras! I can’t wait to dip my toes back into my roots and start acting again… Watch out Neighbours! Christmas is just around the corner, what is your fondest Christmas memory? This is a really hard one! Every year my family get together and put on the best Christmas celebration ever. My Pa takes the kids out on a pony driven Santa sled, and everyone brings their best dishes. You never leave Christmas at our house on an empty stomach!

Soul Matters Christmas sales forecasts by the major retailers make national news headlines these days. But the real Christmas headline is this: GOD LOVES US, AND HAS COME TO SAVE AND HELP US. “Save us” you might think? What do we need to be saved from? We need to be saved from ourselves – from the consequences of the things in us that work against our happiness, freedom, and peace. The Bible calls these things “sin”, and sin makes us feel guilty, ashamed, or in some other way robs us of the fullness of life. For example, I met a bloke the other day who said to me, “My pride stops me from being happy because it drives me to have to be the best all the time, but I can never make it.” Another example is that if we were to cheat on our spouse, our soul would feel like sludge. We would live with an incompleteness or sense of emptiness that can only be removed by an experience of forgiveness. “But where do we find forgiveness?” you may ask. Precisely because sin robs us of peace and happiness, God is not pleased with it. For this reason sin separates us from God and his love. But the Bible says that God loved the world (ie. you and me) so much that he sent his Son Jesus to be born (as we celebrate at Christmas), live a human life, and die to pay the penalty for our sins. BY DEALING WITH OUR SINS JESUS CAN OFFER US FORGIVENESS. For those of us carrying a burden in our souls because of our sins, this is much more important than Christmas sales forecasts! It is about how we can find
freedom, joy, and experience our souls dancing again – by receiving forgiveness through Christ. Now, to move even further beyond Christmas sales forecasts - not only did Jesus come to earth, and not only did he die to deal with our sins, but he was resurrected. This means that he is able to offer us eternal life. Put another way, when we believe in him he is able to save us from the ultimate consequence of our sins and separation from God – that when we die physically, our soul is separated from God’s goodness forever. Instead the “saved” soul is blessed to be with God for eternity. This is worth a thought because it makes the daunting challenge of death much more hopeful. When Jesus was born he was called “Emmanuel”, which means “God with us”. When he returned to heaven the Bible says that Jesus sent God’s Spirit to help us. This means that God is still with us by his Spirit, offering us help to live our lives well. All of this explains why the Christmas headline is: GOD LOVES US, AND HAS COME TO SAVE AND HELP US. It also explains why we sing carols about peace and joy at Christmas time. I encourage you to consider a relationship with Jesus Christ and to discover God’s love for the sake of your soul. Have a wonderful Christmas. Pastor Paul Marshall

Lakes Drive Family Practice Receives Top Accreditation Honour
Glenmore Park received a further health boost recently when Lakes Drive Family Practice received the award of accreditation, demonstrating the quality and safety of their practice. The Practice received the top honour from, Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL), a leading provider in accreditation services. AGPAL Chair Dr Richard Choong said the accreditation award shows that the practice makes a significant investment in quality on a day-to-day basis from the top down. “Achieving accreditation is a major achievement for any practice and it is a clear demonstration that Lakes Drive Family Practice is seeking to improve their level of service to both patients and the community he said. “Practices seek accreditation because they want to be the best and view this as another step toward excellence. The AGPAL accreditation program was developed jointly by AGPAL and various doctor’s organisations including the AMA. guarantees to patients by accrediting the practice environment. To achieve this endorsement, a practice team works for 12 months to implement the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) Standards for general practices, which is the recognised standard nationally for assessment for general practice. The standards train staff in areas such as ensuring vaccines are within their use-by-date and are stored in the correct temperatures; that the practice equipment is clean and sterile and the practice has emergency care available. Dr Choong said accreditation is attainable only through cooperation and communication between staff members. “Everyone at the practice plays a valuable role in working to meet the standards. 10 Tips for Encouraging Kids to Eat Veggies! Summer time = Salads. Yay! No more stodgy veggies. It’s time for fresh, crunchy, and healthy salads. No? The kids are not so enthusiastic? The headline of a recent publication spoke of “Battling Penrith’s Bulge”. You are probably tired of hearing it, but Penrith has very high obesity rates. They top the State. 60% of our adults and kids are obese. And I know that it’s not a favourite topic in Penrith because every time I post something about eating healthy food on facebook (Parenting In Penrith) I get very few views on that post compared to other topics about parenting. But encouraging your kids to eat more healthy food is just as much about good parenting as listening, setting limits, and providing guidance and support. Here are 10 tips for getting kids to eat more veggies based on the research… 1. Google “Dr Ellyn Satter” and have a read about her work on “the division of responsibility”. It’s your responsibility to offer good tucker, it’s your child’s responsibility to eat it. Check it out, and stop offering your kids chicken nuggets and chips every night because “that’s all they will eat”. 2. Food process the veggies and put them in your homemade rissoles, spaghetti bolognaise, and nachos. It’s up to you whether you tell the kids or not. I prefer to be honest with my kids. 3. They are watching you. Be a good role model for how to eat healthy. Sorry Mums, but it has been found that you are the biggest influence on your child’s eating habits. The Cancer Council NSW has found that 95% of adults are not getting enough veggies on a daily basis. Kids are far too savvy these days to swallow the line “do as I say not as I do”. 4. Have meals at the table together as a family. Switch off the TV and the other screens and devices. 5. Offer cheese, dips, dressing, and sauces with veggies and salad. 6. Talking to children about the science of healthy eating helps them to make better food choices. Talking about how veggies grow, vitamins, minerals, fibre, fats, protein, the body, energy, and brain power, has been shown to increase veggie consumption even in pre-schoolers. But remember, it’s no good just telling them, you also have to show them (tip number 3). 7. Give veggies cool names like “Xray Carrots” and “Tomato Bursts”. And believe it or not, watching Popeye has been shown to increase children’s interest in eating spinach. It just goes to show how much television influences our children. One of my sons started eating better after watching the documentary “Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead”. 8. Offer veggies over and over again, so they get used to them. Give lots of descriptive praise when your kids taste and eat veggies. 9. Get kids involved in growing, shopping for, choosing, preparing, and cooking veggies. 10. Offering water at meal time instead of juice, gives kids a better taste for eating veggies. Juice has lots of sugar and no fibre, and isn’t a good drink for kids. Good luck!

Get Ready, Get Set and Go-Kart in Penrith! Penrith will now add racing to the suite of adrenaline charged activities available in the area, with stage one of a new go-kart and motorsport centre now open in Luddenham. After eight months of construction and several setbacks due to extreme weather conditions, stage one of the Luddenham Raceway development opened in November. The first stage of the development includes a 600m procircuit and a 200m track for junior racers aged 8-14. State of the art timing systems, track safety and lighting systems have been installed and special designed go-karts imported from Germany will be driven on the tracks. A high-tech visitor centre has also been built on site, which includes a cafe and lounge area where family, friends and colleagues can watch each other race on large screens. The visitor centre also has a large function room which is available to hire for parties and conferences. There are also plans to finalise construction of stages two and three of the development next year. This includes a 1400m track for driver training and other motor sports activities and also a Paintball Park. Penrith City Mayor Ross Fowler OAM said it’s great to see another thrill seeking tourist attraction open in Penrith. “Penrith is well established as an adventure destination where visitors can sky dive, go white-water rafting, wakeboarding or get behind the controls of a jet aircraft,” Cr Fowler said. “Now, whether you’re young or old, an experienced driver or a novice; if you have a passion or an interest in racing, you can put your pedal to the metal at a world-class racing facility right here in Penrith.” For more information: Phone: 0419 207 421 Email: info@luddenhamraceway.com Visit: facebook.com/luddenhamraceway

Kirsten’s Big Blue Bash Glenmore Park’s Kirsten Hanson recently hosted a Big Blue Bash fundraiser at home, in aid of Beyondblue. Together with 30 family and friends who wore blue, brought a blue dessert and enjoyed a BBQ, Kirsten shared her journey, with her husband Scott, with postnatal anxiety. “It began when my daughter Mia was 8 weeks old. It was an extremely difficult time and it resulted from sleep deprivation and a lack of confidence with babies. I spent 6 weeks at the St John of God Hospital in Burwood” said Kirsten. “I am so glad that I had enough courage to speak out and find help. 1 in 7 women, following birth, experience depression and anxiety. I think there are probably a lot of mothers at home feeling worried, overwhelmed, sad, isolated, out of control or panicky. I would like to encourage them to speak up and let someone know” she said. With Kirsten and Scott’s daughter Mia now 5 months old, she contacted Beyondblue and organised the Big Blue Bash to raise much needed funds and increase awareness in the community about depression and anxiety. “Our target was $1,000. Thanks to everyone’s generosity we raised $1205.86.. I would also like to thank Baker’s Delight and K & A Quality Meats at Southlands Shopping Centre” explained Kirsten. Kirsten now hopes to share her journey with Mums and Bubs groups in the future.

Helping Chronic Knee Pain Many people today suffer knee pain from various causes. Serious knee injuries with cartilage or ligament damage may require surgery, and rehab. But knee pain can also arise from simple thigh-muscle-tightness following overuse; excess body-weight; or chronic inflammation e.g. osteoarthritis. Regardless of the cause, chronic knee pain can make it difficult to walk, stop you working, playing, and doing many of the things you love, again leaving you frustrated when you can’t resolve it. As with chronic back pain (see last month’s article), chronic knee pain is sometimes simply due to unresolved inflammation. Let’s see how it may happen: Both osteoarthritis or an overuse injury can affect muscles and connective tissues around the
knee. The injured cells release compounds into surrounding knee tissues, which become inflamed and painful to touch. Swelling inside muscle compartments, connective tissues & the knee joint itself reduces blood & lymph flow. This keeps toxins in & sustains the cycle of inflammation & pain. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications can help, but many people still have considerable knee pain even when on medication. In many instances the solution lies in: 1. Removing the inflammatory build-up in tissues & 2. Freeing up muscles & connective tissues around the knee. Often, once the inflammatory fluids have been cleared, knee pain lessens considerably and in some cases disappears altogether . In this way a technique such as ‘Muscle Elongation Therapy’ can help target the cause of knee pain, allowing for much greater pain free movement and in some cases eliminating pain completely.

Summer Survival With over 300,000 backyard swimming pools in NSW, swimming pool safety is a vital issue that affects the whole community. Supervising young children in and around swimming pools and developing water confidence through water familiarisation programs can save lives. In the last 10 years in NSW 60 children have died in backyard swimming pools and 70 children have neurological damage as a result of immersion in backyard swimming pools. To help protect our children swimming pool laws have changed.

From the 29th April 2015 all properties with a swimming pool or spa pool that are sold or leased must have a valid swimming pool certificate of compliance. For further information download all the fact sheets at bepoolsafe.com.au. To register your pool visit: www.swimmingpoolregister.nsw. gov.au. “Supervised children never drown. Be prepared, be close, give all of your attention all of the time and enjoy this coming summer season in safety” said Tanya Davies MP.
Weight loss Hypnosis Transform your life
Can Hypnosis Rewire Sugar Cravings? With all of the weight loss options around today, it’s no surprise that some have looked to hypnosis to shed extra kilos. Successful hypnosis advocates say that it’s helped them to reshape their thoughts about food, a key factor for maintaining weight loss. Sound interesting? Here are a few things to consider. We all know being over weight is unhealthy, so what stops us? Harvard University research shows up to 90% of the mind is unconscious. This is why when our brains are firing excitedly to ‘sugar’ its hard to break old patterns. Hypnosis is an altered state that allows new neural pathways to be rewired and change your thoughts about food. Before you agree to give Hypnosis a shot check your clinician is a registered member of the AHA.

MONEY MATTERS PARENTS CORNER With David & Leonie Jackson - Great Aussie Dream P: 4733 8592 E: admin@gad.com.au
Christmas (Financial) Survival Guide Well believe it or not December is here and preparations for Christmas are about to start if they haven’t already. Personally, I love the Christmas Season. As a Christian it is of course an important time for me and my family spiritually and in general I enjoy the “festive” atmosphere. These days though Christmas can be an expensive time of year and in the rush to get everything done in time it is very easy to overspend leaving a “financial hangover” for the new year. So here are a few tips to help you save time and money so that you can enjoy Christmas and start the New Year on the right financial foot. • Set a budget. Include items such as gifts, decorations, food, holiday activities for the kids and any other out of the ordinary expenses. • Using your budgeted amount for gifts, make a list of everyone you need to buy for (and check it twice). • Shop around. Armed with your list and budget, start shopping around for what you want to buy. Shopping online is a great way to find gifts at the right price but don’t discount your local retailers as many of them will price match. • Family Kris Kringle. If your extended family is as big as mine, it can be very expensive (and time consuming) buying everyone a gift. An alternative is to put everyone’s name in a hat and draw a name each. You then buy one gift to an agreed amount for that one person. • Avoid using your credit card where possible. If you would like to stay up to date with our financial tips you can follow us at facebook. com/GreatAussieDream or twitter.com/gr8aussiedream. Have a happy safe and holy Christmas. See you in 2015.

COUNSELLING CORNER
with Linda Cassell @ Psychology Works 4 All P: 4773 3057 or 0421 507 191 E: lindacassell@bigpond.com The myth of the perfect family is a burden many of us take to the grave, and at no time is it put under more stress than at Christmas. Conflicts and ambiguous feelings we’ve put on hold all year, bubble to the surface. Then there’s the eternal tug over who we’ll spend Christmas with. Your parents or your in-laws? Your divorced father or your mother? What if your kids decide to go to your ex-husband and his new wife, proving once and for all that they’ve abandoned you? Or, and this is true for a growing number of people, what if you have no one you really want to spend Christmas with? And finally, there’s the pressure to try to solve it all with Mastercard or Visa, to prove your love with dollars because you just don’t know how else to navigate the emotional rapids of relationships. Here are four emotional survival tips: 1. Ask yourself who you really want to spend Christmas with. Imagine that the Guilt-Free Fairy could wave her wand and no one would feel hurt or angry at your decision. Where would you feel truly accepted and at ease? Where would you laugh and be playful? 2. In terms of Christmas shopping, ask yourself whether you are buying each gift because the process gives you pleasure or out of obligation, and be realistic about your financial situation. 3. Use your time off to enjoy getting back to nature via a visit to the bush or beach 4. Spirituality is a natural antidepressant- so attend a church service and see the church at its most joyful! Enjoy this great festive season!

Megan Cuts Through the Competition
ď ˛ď€ Megan Williamson (left) goes head to head with Lani Deves from Queensland in the final round of the Haidong Gumdo patterns competition. Photo courtesy of Patrick Williamson.
Megan Williamson, Haidong Gumdo Instructor with Nepean Wolves Martial Arts, proved once again that she was the nation’s top female exponent in this exciting and dynamic sword martial art. She has been a competitor on the national and world stage for a number of years and has gone from strength to strength. This year’s championships saw Megan take out gold for all the disciplines she contested. Her performance in both the patterns and bamboo cutting disciplines were, without doubt, her strongest performances to date against very strong opposition. She was also part of the NSW State Demonstration team that provided a brilliant display for the 900 spectators who attended the event. The National Haidong Gumdo championships were held in NSW for the first time this year as part of the Mulympia Martial Arts Championships. The event was hosted at the Penrith Valley Regional Sports Centre and show-cased Haidong Gumdo, Taekwondo and Karate. The Nepean region was well-represented in all events, with Nepean Wolves students taking home an impressive swag of medals. Megan’s next major competition will be the 2015 World Championships, to be held in Korea, where she will be aiming to medal against competitors from New Zealand, Canada, Europe, the US, Mexico, and the incredibly talented Koreans. New Veterinarians We are pleased to announce we have 2 part time veterinarians joining our team. Kellie Lorschy grew up in the western suburbs and attended Rooty Hill High obtaining dux at her high school. She graduated from Sydney University with First Class Honours in 1995 and along the way obtained Honours in a Veterinary Research Degree as well. Kellie then went on to practice in mixed animal practice in Canada and then came back to Australia to practice small animals in various locations across Western Sydney. Kellie has experienced many facets of veterinary medicine. She has worked as a technical veterinarian for a large pharmaceutical company, worked in sales and marketing
in veterinary pathology and as a marketing manager in a veterinary support organisation. Kellie not only works for us part time since October 2014, but is training veterinary nurses at Richmond TAFE and has done so for the last 9 years – she even trained some of our nurses! Kellie’s passion is providing clients well informed options for best possible health outcomes for their four legged members of the family. She has a family of her own with 2-legged and 4-legged members. Benjamin Yap has always dreamed of being a veterinarian. As a primary school child in his hometown of Perth, Western Australia, his passion for medicine and animals was very obvious to teachers and his parents. As one of the top students in his school, he went directly to Murdoch University and graduated with his veterinary degree in 2002 before he decided to spread his wings on his "eastern states adventures". He has worked in mixed, small animal and emergency practice in Victoria, Canberra and finally suburban Sydney since mid 2009. After nearly 12 years in the veterinary game, he still works in the field he loves.Ben attends nearly every further education lecture to enhance his knowledge to help his clients, both human and animal. He has two lovely cats at home (named Delta and Kingston) and has a lovely fiancÊe named Alexandra, who he is due to marry in the spring of 2015. Ben joined the team in November 2014. Please feel free to pop in anytime and meet the team at Orchard Hills Veterinary Hospital. Call 4736 2027 to make an appointment. Check us out on Facebook and online at www.orchardhillsvet. com.au.
