Reform To Allow Data Access After Death Or Incapacity

Social media accounts such as TikTok, Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, along with other digital assets such as eBook libraries and music collections, are likely to outlive their owners, but access to them can vary according to the platform. These barriers can result in preventing a person’s legal representative from carrying out their legal obligations when administering an estate or managing the affairs of a person who has lost capacity.

• Category 3: $20,000 grants for new or innovative projects.

“It was a positive experience. We know that she will build on this and share it with her peers,” said Keri. Her exposure on the catwalk on an international level has already opened doors in her modelling career.

Ropes Crossing student Chloe Zrebiec has just returned home after competing in her first international pageant in the United States of America. The talented teenager competed in the 2022 Regency International Pageant on 29th and 30th July at The Golden Nugget Hotel in Las Vegas.

Despite not having her family and friends present with her at the competition, they were able to watch her progress via live streams on the internet.

“Chloe has been approached from another pageant system asking her to represent Australia again. She even modelled during a segment on Sunrise on Channel 7. She is looking forward to moving ahead in her modelling career” she ended. r Chloe Zrebiec during the 2022 Regency International Pageant | Image the International

Chloe’s trip was made easier thanks to the support of Kim Cancellier, Director of National Australian Miss Program and Bec Donechy, Make-Up Artist of Wye Creative Hair and Make-Up, who accompanied her and her team. She is hoping to draw on the experience to help her with future competitions.

“She looked absolutely amazing on stage along with the other 11 contestants in her division. Chloe did not get to bring home the crown this time. We should receive her scores from the pageant shortly” explained Keri Keightley, Chloe’s Mum.

“It was really hard not to be there. At the same time, it was exciting to see Chloe do something that she loves” Keri replied.

Cam Bringing Mental Health to the Forefront

“So, I put this forward to get the conversation started with my mates by creating a safe environment to talk about how we were truly doing. Then the support from the community took Talk Talk to where it is today” he continued.

1-4 October, 2022 - 9.30am-4.30pm 9 Magnicent gardens - Stunning mountain scenery - Art show

The 56th Festival will be held for four days over the October long weekend, from Saturday 1st October to Tuesday 4th October.Theyplan to make the 2022 Festival a wonderful celebration for all garden lovers and look forward to welcoming everyone back to the upper Blue Mountains. On display will be a feast of new growth, masses of flowers, gorgeous bulbs, and an amazing variety of cool-climate plants. This includes azaleas, rhododendrons, and peonies as well as magnificent deciduous trees which will just be coming into their full flowering glory. There will be two magnificent gardens new to the Festival, Avila and Karoola. Avila is a wonderful example of what can be achieved in smaller spaces using a careful and informed plant selection and will be dressed in some impressive flowering bulb displays.Karoola is a garden on a larger scale and includes both formal and rambling bush settings and is remarkable for its extensive wisteriaSeveralplantings.favourites will return, including Ewanrigg, Fairways, Hill of Grace, Seasons and The Braes which puts on an impressive show across its vast, varied, and ever-changing acreage. In addition, the beautiful gardens at Everglades and Fairmont will also be on display.

“One thing I used to say to people is if you have the flu, you go to the doctor because you can see that you’re sick. Why aren’t we going to the doctor if we aren’t feeling the best mentally? Is it because we can’t see it, or others can’t see that we are sick? It stresses the importance on really taking care of our minds and to reach out to people if we are struggling. Without support networks, life in challenging times becomes very hard. Creating awareness can ease the hardships that we all go through, big, or small. We can’t row our boats alone” he ended. Follow Cam’s journey by searching ‘Talk Talk’ on Facebook. You can contact him, where you will find everything from useful information, merchandise or somewhere to just have a chat.

“I created Talk Talk in 2017. I was going through some mental battles myself prior to creating this brand. My question to myself was ‘If I’m going through this and no one knows, I wonder who else is?’” explained Williams to the District Gazette.

Local Cam Williams is breaking the stigma that is attached to mental health, creating awareness and support. The inspiring role model also has his own line of clothing, Talk Talk, with proceeds going towards Penrith Men’s Walk and Talk.

Talk Talk’s clothing range is geared predominantly towards a men’s line, having previously produced t-shirts, hoodies, singlets, and shorts. The items have been welcomed by the community and sell out. Two new t-shirts are due to be released shortly.“When starting, it was never about the money or raising funds, but rather raising awareness. The first lot of sales I put the money towards assisting youth with seeking further help with psychologists. All proceeds now go towards Penrith Men’s Walk and Talk. They hold a very special place in my heart with what they are doing which is a tremendous step in the right direction for mental health” Cam stated. He believes that it’s important to create awareness around mental health.

New Learning Centre Completed At Cranebrook High School

Stuart Ayres MP, Member for Penrith last month joined staff and students at Cranebrook High School to officially open their new multi-million dollar learning centre.

“The new facilities at Cranebrook High School will be used for specialised learning, for example to support agricultural classes due to its proximity to the school’s farm,” Ms Mitchell said.

Minister for Education

“I share the students’ excitement about seeing the new building and also, the beautiful landscaping and trees,” Stuart Ayres said.

The NSW Government is investing $8.6 billion in school infrastructure over the next four years, continuing its program to deliver 160 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. This builds on the more than $9.1 billion invested in projects delivered since 2017, a program of $17.7 billion in public education infrastructure.

“The NSW Government continues to deliver important school infrastructure to communities around the state and I’m proud of the wonderful facilities we’re providing for schools like Cranebrook High School in Western Sydney.”

“It’s great to see Cranebrook High School getting investment in the excellent multi-purpose learning space they deserve.

Stuart Ayres said he was delighted to be at the school to see the new building with three general learning spaces, a shared learning space, a seminar room and an outdoor learning area.

“As part of this upgrade, many new mature Eucalyptus trees have been planted throughout the school grounds, adding to the abundance of green spaces that Cranebrook High School benefits from.”

Sarah Mitchell said every student in NSW should have access to the best education possible, and providing new and modern facilities give students those opportunities.

“I am so thrilled that the NSW Government has been able to deliver this project for the community and that it will support students for generations to come with unique learning opportunities.” Ms Mitchell said.

In addition to staying calm, approach your child with curiosity and non-judgment. You may feel temptation to lecture but check this urge at the door. During a hard time, would you confide in someone who only points out your faults? Probably not! If children feel judged, they are less likely to come to you with their struggles again. Choose the time and place carefully. A neutral space such as the living room can be ideal. Pick a time when you are not too busy to listen. For some children, they feel more comfortable talking about their emotions during parallel activities like a taking a drive in the car or going for a walk.

National Child Protection Week (4-10 September) is all about the ways that we can all work together to build communities that support children and families. Visit www. napcan.org.au to find out more.

Focus on listening, rather than responding. Being listened to helps children explore their feelings, put ideas into words, brainstorm solutions to their own problems and develop selfconfidence. Your full focus makes them feel respected and helps them know that their thoughts and feelings matter.

Talking to Children About Safety

Jordan Springs Dog Park Group, which is found on Facebook on social media, was created in 2016 as a place for dog owners who used the popular facility. Boasting over 800 members, it has been embraced by the community.

Be open to talking about all feelings – joy, sadness, fear, anger, worry. Separate behaviour from emotion. Remember: “all feelings are OK, but not all behaviours are OK”. Children build their emotion vocabulary from the adults around them.

Nepean

Children are safest when they are listened to, respected, and believed by the adults around them. There are ways you can create a safe space for your child to share their concerns and worries with you.

PARENTS CORNER Article Written + Submitted

Talk to your child about safety, where they feel safe, with whom they feel safe and what it feels like to be safe. Discuss ‘early warning signs’ (how their body feels) and encourage them to trust their feelings and instincts.

The first thing to know is that open communication is more about how you are with your child than the words you use. It’s important that you remain calm during even the most difficult conversations. Big adult emotions can overwhelm children and cause them to ‘shut down’.

The Yoga Teacher is on the lookout for a venue to host regular yoga classes. “I’m looking to hire out the Jordan Springs Community Centre, but so far have found no availability that suits. I’m open to any suggestions for spaces we could practice together” said Liam to the Jordan Springs Gazette. Once a venue is found, he plans to run classes of up to 20 for all levels.

“I find 20 people maximum is enough for me to be able to attend to everyone equally, but there is also value in a smaller, more intimate class of 10. Either way, all classes are designed with variations for any level of experience or ability” heLiamexplained.hasbeen teaching yoga since 2019. We are always adding new and varied outings.

Recently I spoke with some children involved in a personal conflict. The children were rightly upset by what they perceived to be an unfair treatment of themselves by others. Consequently, they responded with rudeness, aggression, and in the same way they were being treated.Thisled to an interesting discussion. All the children believed, “we should treat others in the same way we want to be treated,” but also that, “I will treat others in the same way as they treat me.” Apparently, they believed both things to be true, but couldn’t see the contradiction. Namely, that one action has the potential to increase the good, whilst the other potentially only increases the harm already being done. To treat others as we want to be treated is an admirable thing which has the potential to create healthy relationships, safe spaces, and to make the world a better place. But what if others are treating us badly or unfairly?! To simply respond with “I will treat others the same way they treat me” in this case does nothing to improve the situation, break a destructive cycle, or make the world any better. It merely doubles the problem, continues the cycle, and so increases the number of already sad and broken people.

In the Christian calendar, there is a particular day celebrated on August 6th each year. It commenced being kept by the eastern Churches around the 4th century and amongst the western church after the 9th century becoming a permanent celebration in 1457. It is based on the record in St Matthew’s Gospel chapter 17 verses 1 to 9. Basically, the Transfiguration cannot be fully comprehended as even those who experienced the event were at a loss to give an explanation. For us it finds meaning when the total life of Jesus is studied. One of the most telling interpretations is found in second letter of St Paul to the Church in ancient Corinth but even this does not exhaust contemplation on the meaning of the Transfiguration. It came at an important stage in the life of Jesus. His work in the ancient Roman Empire’s province of Galilee was completed. It is noted that to all intents and purposes it had failed, primarily because the political and religious atmosphere at the time was centred and directed towards defeating the Roman Senate’s domination of the country. This allows the Transfiguration to be placed in the context that Jesus had either to go on and complete his work which would result in humiliation, suffering and execution or to give up. So it is in the Transfiguration that his followers realized that God was in the Son through the Holy Spirit to complete the promise of the Law received through Moses and the promise of the prophets through Elijah to obtain the continual reconciliation between the Creator and the created. The culmination was in the Resurrection. It is interesting to note the varying and often contradictory record found amongst the Gospel writers and as with the Transfiguration it involved how to express their experience of the events.

And so, we proposed a third way: What if we responded with kindness and goodness towards one another instead? Wouldn’t this be like a superpower, not allowing others to determine our behaviour, but instead challenging theirs, maybe turning an enemy into a friend, and helping make the world a better place? Consequently, Jesus’ words remain as radical today as when first spoken: “You have heard it said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’ But I tell you, love your enemy, pray for those who persecute you, and do good to those who mistreat you.”

Works will be judged on originality, construction, the use of language, (including creative expression, grammar, sentence structure, punctuation, and spelling), development of character, atmosphere or setting, creative use of language and how the entry relates to the theme.

2022 Blacktown Mayoral Creative Writing Prize Now Open r

“There have been significant changes in many areas of our lives, and this year’s Prize asks entrants to reflect on these changes and what may come next”.

“We all know just how challenging the past 2 and a half years have been, as we have faced the COVID-19 pandemic, natural disasters, and new ways of living.

Mayor Bleasdale said, “The Mayoral Creative Writing Prize is a wonderful opportunity for writers of all ages to tap away at their keyboards or put pen to paper and get creative with poems or short stories.

Right now, e-waste is growing three times faster than other waste. And with the way the world is becoming more tech savvy, we need to become more e-waste savvy. It’s so important to dispose of e-waste properly and responsibly. E-waste can’t go in your household bins. Recycling at our E-waste Drop-off Day keeps e-waste out of landfill and our community safe.

Ulcerative Colitis - What Exactly Is It?

1. The mucosa: lining cells

83,500 Australians suffer Ulcerative Colitis (UC). Patients are most frequently diagnosed at ages 15-35 and 55-70. Patients may be of any race, but likely to be white, Ashkenazi Jews. UC is usually categorized according to the parts of the large bowel involved/inflamed i.e.:

They’re

by the NSW Government through its Environmental Trust. Penrith City Council is proud to partner with Conservation Volunteers Australia. Dates & Times: Starts: 09 September 2022 - 06:30PM Ends: 09 September 2022 - 09:00PM Location: Wianamatta Nature Reserve Vincent Road, Cranebrook NSW 2749 Image/Article: Penrith City Council

4. If cell deaths continue, the mucosa takes on a finely granular look, and becomes friable (breaks easily); normal vascular pattern is lost

4. Pancolitis – entire colon Rarely the small intestine that meets the colon may also be inflamed.Symptoms may be limited to rectal bleeding alone. As more of the colon becomes involved, symptoms may include fever, abdominal and rectal pain, cramping, and an urgency to defecate without being able to go. Sufferers have ongoing diarrhoea unrelieved by over-the-counter medications (often also passing blood and puss). Dehydration, weight loss, fatigue, anaemia, vitamin deficiencies, serious malnutrition and bone loss may result. Complications include liver, skin, eye, joint inflammation, perforated colon, increased colon cancer risk; in serious cases toxic megacolon, and possible death.

3. The muscularis: muscle-cell-layer contracts rhythmically to move colon contents

3. Left sided colitis – rectum, sigmoid and descending colon

1. Something initiates damage to and death of localized areas of colonic epithelial lining cells

4. Serosa: external layer of connective tissue around the colon UC generally affects the mucosa and submucosa, the muscularis in severe disease. Sharp borders exist between normal and affected (ulcerated) tissue. The disease process in UC:

3. The affected local area becomes red and swollen

2. The submucosa: connective tissue, nerves, blood/lymph vessels, immune cells

1. Ulcerative proctitis – anus and rectum only

5. Eventually scattered haemorrhagic areas appear

2. Proctosigmoiditis – rectum and sigmoid colon

The normal colon wall consists of four main layers (inner to outer):

Life lessons from your dog: No matter what happens in life, kick some grass over that stuff and move on!

Dog Rules:

Dogs are not our whole life, but they make our lives whole. My best friend has a fur and a tail. Love is a four-legged word. Anything is paws-ible with a dog by your side. Love is a wet nose and a wagging tail. The road to my heart is filled with paw prints.

Don't stop retrievin'. My dog's only flaw is not living forever. Sometimes, they call me 'Getbackhere.' First he stole my heart, then he stole my bed Home is where the dog hair is stuck to everything.

The dog is not allowed in the house

Ok, the dog is allowed in the house but only in certain rooms

The dog is allowed in all rooms, but has to stay off the furniture

Fine, the dog is allowed on all the furniture, but is not allowed to sleep with humans

The dog may sleep on the bed whenever they want, but not under the covers

The dog may sleep under the covers every night Humans must ask permission to sleep under the covers with the Indogall cases of dispute….. The dog rules!

A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself. It’s treat o’clock somewhere

As I compile the final touches of the September edition, I look out my window to notice it is a typical Winter’s day, cold, wet and blustery. Nothing at all like the weather we experienced only a week before. I can only hope, like everyone else, that better weather is around the corner as we turn the leaf into Spring.Ialways enjoy Spring, not only for the promise of wonderful weather, but the downward descent to Christmas. What’s not to love about gorgeous Spring days, socialising and the festive lead up to Christmas? This month Monica highlights the importance of child-safety in ‘Parents Corner’ given September plays host to National Child Safety week. While Camille dishes out some ‘Dad’ Jokes in ‘Paws A While’ in view of Fathers Day.Fathers Day is the first Sunday in September, a timely reminder to spend time with or reach out to the Fathers and Fatherly figures in our lives, and remember those taken too soon. Find a minute to reflect on the great moments. Enjoy ‘Your Community News’. Make yourself a priority once in a while. It’s not selfish. It’s necessary.
