Plant Watering Every week two Key Club members volunteer to water the same plants SPHS planted in October. The whole process takes about an hour and thus that is what they gain in community service. Due to the rain we decided that it'll be best to pull out the weeds that have started to grow around the flowers. This is quite an easy task for people to quickly get hours they need if their schedule doesn't allow them to attend others. Article submitted by: Jessenia Montiel, Santa Paula HS Editor

Santa to the Sea Key Club members of Division 42 West have volunteered in the Santa to the Sea on December 11, 2016. There were different stations assigned to our members, one was to decorate and the other station was to hand out water to the runners. Seeing so many participates in the marathon and our members working hard to quench every runner's thirst, we had a successful day. Article submitted by: Charles Abuan, Pacifica HS Editor

Hey there Arctic Foxes! February, a month of love and care, is already upon us! But here’s the thing, sometimes love means to let go… I know that may be sad and all but in reality, it does happen. This month brings us closer to the time where we have to say good bye to our old board, but, we also bring in the new board as well! This term was filled with many great adventures and memories for all of us to enjoy.

Sure, it’s not over yet, and it very well may never end for you, continuing to serve what is important to you alongside your home, school, and community. Just make sure that the legacy you’re leaving generously provides for those wishing to take your place in the near future, whether you’re moving onto college, passing down a position to your successor, or preparing to welcome a new crop of leaders as eager and fresh as you once were. Whatever the case may be, be sure to make these ending moments of your term the best of the past. Create a path that many can follow so you can guide them to success. Each member of our division is unique in their own way, but we all have one thing in common: our love and appreciation for the core values and the mission of Key Club International. Though the end is close, you’re going to keep living out the meaning of service, and you’re going to continue expanding your own definition of leadership when others might not even try. So let go, move on and just make sure to leave your year and your legacy in the best shape possible to look back on and talk about it.

Chilling in Service, Noah Tyler Ratley Division News18Editor 18
