Update

Aloha Arctic Foxes! Happy December arctic foxes! Wow has this year gone by quickly. It feels as if it was just January yesterday! Soon, our beloved term will sadly end as well… Nonetheless, we should be merry and happily serving our community like there’s no tomorrow! Christmas time is a great time to give back! So why don’t you go out there and make a big difference?! Many of you will pull out the ugly sweaters, making hot co-cos, nights by the fireplace, and even listen to some jamming holiday music. These are great and all, but remember, the semester is coming to and close end as well! BEE sure to use this time to also get some studying in and for those seniors, congrats on finishing those college applications, but be sure to get on those scholarships and especially the FAFSA! Be prepared for the new year, and especially the finals! Ugh, I know it’s a dread, but once it’s over, you’ll feel relieved!

ssue 8

Though the end of the year, and soon, the term is closing in, try to make the most of what you can do for the rest of it! Our term doesn’t end until April so get out there and serve! Lastly, I would like to say new year!

happy

holidays and happy

For this past month, the club has settled down and we are currently trying to do as much events as possible. Meetings were held every week and more promos are made to promote our club in our school. Fall rally is also coming up so we are trying to prepare for that event as well. These are some of the main events that we did this month which are listed below.

For the month of October we had many volunteering opportunities in order for all of our members to get at least 5 hours in before Fall Rally! Our VP of Fundraising is always on the search for more fundraisers in order for us to catch up on club funds as well as raise money for PTP. We have had very active members ready to volunteer at anything and we also have over 20 members attending Fall Rally South this year. With confidence of a good Key Club year, our Pacifica High School Cabinet is very excited for what this 2017-2018 term has to offer! Testimonials for this month are Katie Tran and Britney Danh. Once again, Pacifica High School Key Club thrives for the best! Submitted by: Ella Borcena Pacifica High Club Editor

For the month of October, our club has began to form our committees and have also started creating in-school projects. These projects were all coordinated at our meetings and were publicized through our various social medias. We were also able to have many members attend this month’s DCM’s and service projects. Testimonials this month include Michael Laderas, Tristan Caldejon, and Brandon Farne. Submitted by: Derek Malvin Channel Islands High Club Editor

At our October duo DCM, we had members from Santa Paula High School attend the beach clean up at Mandalay Bay. Upon the members arrival, they were able to donate items that would range from hygiene products to plastic cups and plates. Before the DCM started, we had members sort out the different types of products that were brought to the DCM into various boxes were Roselyn would then drop off. Every Wednesday, members are able to go to our local church in town and serve over 200 hot meals for people who are in need. In order to create theses meals, members must show up an hour in advance to open and prep the meals. At points, members are able to go with local church members to retrieve the food they will be handing out that day or week. Many Meals offers people to eat the hot meal at the church or take some to go. Recently, we have had local farmers donate fresh produce so people could take them home to their families. When SPHS has summer vacation or breaks over the school year, we will still set aside time to help out. Over the past month, members took UNICEF trick or treat boxes home with them. On Friday night football games, we had a small booth set up for friends and families to donate while at the game. Almost every member came back with a box filled. On the last week of October we had members come into our advisers room to help count change. After several days of counting change after school, Santa Paula High School raised $445 but a couple generous teachers on campus decided that 445 was a "untidy" number. We ended up raising $450 for UNICEF and another $450 for PTP. Submitted by: Valeria Medrano Santa Paula High Club Vide President 18
