VINCENT’S LETTER A monthly message from your Lieutenant Governor

What’s splashing, D04E? It’s Vincent once again! I hope you’ve had an amazing few weeks. I know it’s definitely been extremely stressful coming off of Finals and college application season, but I hope everything hasn’t been too tough on you. I highly recommend you take this break to relax and reflect on all of your hard work that you’ve done throughout the year. 2020 had been one crazy and chaotic ride, but we’ve finally reached the end of it. Make sure to end the year off strong as always and never hold any regrets. Although it’s been one of the hardest years for many of us, make sure you focus on bettering your mental and physical health because you come before anything else! As you look back on all of your accomplishments and memories (mostly virtual) this year, don’t forget how much you’ve done for Key Club. It may seem easy to attend online DCM’s and service events, but your attendance and membership matter to me and your presidents. It’s so hard for each person to feel motivated to lead on an online platform, so make sure to thank your presidents and officers for continuing to put their best food forward for Key Club. Without you all, Key Club wouldn’t exist. As always, continue doing service and make the most out of your Key Club journey. Attend those events and have fun, even if it’s online. I hope you have an amazing winter break! Don’t be too hard on yourself and make sure to take care of yourself. I look forward to seeing you all again at the next event. Vincent Vu

AMBER’S LETTER

A monthly message from your Division News Editor

Hello, goldfish! I hope everyone has been well and having a nice winter break so far! But, guess what? We made it to 2021! I’d say that is a great achievement in itself. And with a new year comes more memories for us to create, especially within Key Club! 2020 has been a tough year for all of us, but I hope that this does not discourage any one of you. In fact, all of you have been doing a wonderful job at keeping your clubs active and participating in a lot of service. For this month of January, our New Years themed Newsletter will provide many fun events that occurred during the past month, including our November DCM and fun service projects that were held within our home clubs, such as Foothill’s Bracelets of Hope service event. Thank you to all our clubs who have been doing a great job at keeping high participation at their events, and those who are creating more events for their members to attend. Lastly, please make sure to check our the District’s January Newsletter, which provides even more informational knowledge on Key Club as a whole. Stay safe and healthy, Amber Dang

NOVEMBER DCM JOLYN LE | VILLA PARK Yet another month has passed by and students are struggling to finish up classes before the end of 2020, but Division 4 East brings a bit of excitement and fun to Key Club members during the month of November. On November 21, 2020, D04E held a meeting themed around the viral game, Among Us! Many members joined not only to hear the monthly announcements, but to interact with other members in the division. The next page has images that displays the title screen for the meeting. As usual for every Key Club meeting, members would recite the Pledge of Allegiance and the Key Club Pledge. Afterwards would be information on our progress in our goals, upcoming events, and updates from each school. One of the exciting news that was discussed was Fall Rally, which typically occurs in these months. It will be rescheduled to be Spring Rally in 202! “Time to play Among Us! is shown on the next page. As the meeting theme states for this meeting, everyone participated in playing Among Us. Around 6-7 people were sorted into a breakout room where they would play on their device. Groups would play multiple rounds until the meeting was over. Like every other DCM, it was amazing to see other members virtually and to try our hardest to have some fun during these challenging times. Lastly, in Visual Four, you can see some of the members on the screen.

CARDS FOR PATIENTS Keana Redfearn | Pacific Coast This week, our members joined over Zoom to create both digital and physical illustrations of encouraging cards for young hospital patients. Key Clubbers then sent and dropped off their letters to an organization called Cards for Hospitalized Kids. We hope to continue donating gifts and cards to hospital workers and patients in the future, especially during the upcoming holiday season! Below are images of digital cards created by PCHS’ Club Member, Isabella Seccia.

BRACELETS OF HOPE Diego Sahagun | Foothill Bracelets of Hope was a sort of creative service event as it focused on creating friendship bracelets. Those bracelets would be sent to the organization Bracelets of Hope who would then process them and send them out to kids in foster homes and other kids who are in similar situations. Our members were free to make them however they wanted to and were encouraged to be creative with their threads and designs.

GOLDFISH OF THE MONTH SCHOOL:

CANYON CANYON Canyon continues to remain an extremely strong club. I have seen their growth throughout the term, and it has been an honor to watch their attendance grow at events. They are always on top of their membership game, and I hoep to continue seeing them succeed all the way to the end of the term. — Lieutenant Governor Vincent Vu

OFFICER:

ASHLEY PARK PARK || OCSA OCSA ASHLEY Ashley continues to blow my every expectation. As a president of OCSA Key Club she makes sure to work well with her own officers and members. At the same time, she also attends the Kiwanis DCM’s, which is really encouraging to see someone who cares to much about the foundations of Key Club. She makes being an LTG a lot easier, and I know she’ll do amazing things in the future. — Lieutenant Governor Vincent Vu

MEMBER:
