ltg's letter Hey Goldfishes! *

Wow, what a month. I think this month, slow as it may have been, may have actually been one of the most productive. We are VERY on track to meet all of the goals that I have set this term. Currently, we are sitting at $850.01 in the Cash Box, with 1/4 of the term completed. If we keep up at this rate, we will reach our money goal! Aside from how we are doing with funds, I would also like to commemorate the unlikely and pleasantly surprising activity that Division 4 East has had recently! Some schools that we have not seen in a very long time have become the most active clubs in the Division, just like that! Some names include OCSA, Pacific Coast, and Beckman! There are some very active members within those clubs, and I personally can’t wait to see more of you guys. Also, I can’t wait to see 50 of you guys at Beach Boomba! Beach Boomba has always been my favorite Region Event (I’m not supposed to pick favorites but whatever). If you are coming, please make sure to use the flyer that Division 30 North Lt. G Yena Suh made to guide you in what you need to bring. TLDR: Make sure you bring your own water, $5 admission fee, a medical release form ( bit.ly/kcmedrelease ), among other things. If you have any questions about what to bring, don’t be afraid to reach out. And if you are reading this AFTER Beach Boomba, I hope you had a great time and maybe made a friend or two! Club Visitations are coming up! If you are a board member reading this, Club Visitations are basically when the Lt. G (me) comes to one of your meetings, inspects how well you guys are doing, and tries to give feedback on things that I can help you with! Look out for a lot of those in the future! Overall, I’m so happy with how everything has been going this entire term, there have, of course, been ups and downs, but this year has been my most anxious and my happiest, all thanks to Key Club! Thank you all, and here’s to an amazing August!

dne's letter *

Hey, Division 4 East! This is Vy Vu, your Division News/Tech Editor! It’s almost August, and it makes me really sad that our summer break is ending ALREADY! I haven’t had enough boba this summer, but the recent boba fundraiser gave me an excuse to tell my mom that I HAD to go hehe. Thank you to everyone who came to support our fundraisers; we are so much closer to our goal!! yayy! I didn’t really get to say a lot in my message last month, but I am very excited to make this year one of our BEST years EVERR (like I said before)! I am prepared for this very difficult year, but it’s all worth it because I know I’ll be doing it with you guys <3 TO BULLETIN EDITORS/ PUBLICISTS, I just want you guys to know that I am sorry for bugging you all the time. I want you guys to be the best you can be, so that means I will be your nagging Key Club mom :D I am usually available all the time when I am not sleeping, hanging out with friends, playing games, and other stuff, so if you have any questions about anything, JUST ASK ME! I am pretty friendly, and I’ll always try my best to answer them! Contact me through my email or even Instagram! (@qvyvu) Anyways, I worked really hard on this newsletter, so please take your time and read everything!

june e The Concerts in the Park! Written by Kady Hong

The annual Concerts in the Park were held at Hart Park again this year. From June 19 to August 21, people from all over Orange County gather to listen to live bands with their family and friends. They also have the chance to buy delicious food provided by the Kiwanis. The free entertainment provides an inclusive atmosphere for many. Concerts in the Park exist to encourage families to gather together and have fun outdoors, as it is also a fundraising event for the Kiwanis. Here, our El Modena Key Club volunteers served food. We had a great time socializing with other volunteers and eager  families ready to snack. On July 10, we served hot dogs and other various filling snacks. Everyone put on their gloves and immediately went to serve their community.

events! Visionwalk at the Angel Stadium! Written by Gillian Pascual

On Saturday, June 8, several members of Villa Park Key Club (VPKC) had the honor of volunteering at an event called Visionwalk, an opportunity given by the lovely Ms. Patti, our Key Club adviser. The event was to raise awareness for the visually impaired. Many locals gathered as early as 8 in the morning to walk for this amazing cause. They were instructed to walk about the Angel Stadium parking lot, as seen in the first visual, and to proceed inside the stadium and on the outskirts of the Angels Baseball field! Alongside with our members, there were also other volunteer groups who enjoyed the opportunity to help out with the special event. Three of the board members, Hannah, Kelly, and Melody, are pictured in the second visual as they stand in position ready to cheer on the walkers. The volunteers present were also there to set up for the event and provide food and water. VPKC is thankful that they had the privilege to help a wonderful cause!

June recognition School of the Month: Pacific Coast

"Pacific Coast has been a great school so far! Although they didn't have the best start, they have been putting lots of effort to improve their club's attendance, performance, and so much more. They continue to grow, and I have very high hopes for them (: " - Vy Vu, division news/tech editor

Officer of the Month: Sky Do

"Foothill's bulletin editor and publicist, Sky Do, goes the extra mile when writing articles, taking photos, and publicizing events. She efficiently and professionally runs the club's Instagram and consistently encourages members to attend service events, bonding events, and fundraisers. She always submits her articles and visuals on time and has a real passion for service and her community. I can always count on her to take an extra volunteer shift or support her fellow officers. When bulletin editor Do is on the job, the Sky is truly the limit ;)" - Lisa Pham, president of Foothill Key Club

Member of the Month: Vermeil Scott

"Vermeil is a good member because he has a great attitude towards others, and he is always there to help out. At first, I didnt' even know that he was a Key Club member, but later on, he came to the first concert atht the park. He continues to come and always tries out different stations to help others." - Leslie Zamora, President of Orange Key Club
