Big Ed aka 2Timer
Hello You Happy People! I got to tell ya. I love it. I love this life. I love the people who cherish this way of life like I do. The bikes, the wind, the ride, and the bonds made when you share the open road. Folks, I can’t express the gratitude I felt when we had the LOCO SHOWDOWN at the Kinston Drag Strip for our 10th Anniversary. We had so much support. I was standing at the gates and folks where just constantly coming in. I can’t thank you folks enough. It was a great day, as well. We had folks burning up the strip with races and seeing how fast they could cross the line. The sounds of those pipes MAN! What more can I say! Not to mention, it was relaxing. With the virus plannedimic folks were tired of sitting around the house. They wanted to come out and watch the races and be around like minded folks. It made the whole thing that much better. People were checking out the chrome in the bike show. They were checking out the venders. People were walking around just feeling good to be out and talking with friends and family. Nasty, which is our president of Unspoken Sons M.C., he threw this out there and wanted to make our 10 year anniversary as a club to be special. It was a gamble, too. With all the fear and B.S. being thrown out there with the virus, we didn’t know if we were going to be able to pull it off. But man, we did!...and I’m so thankful.

I don’t want to push too much out there about my club, but we are more then a club, we are family and we are close and we work at it to keep it that way. With me mentioning family. I got to tell you good people, our club’s anniversary which is a celebration to USS. It’s also a hard time in our hearts, as well. Nine years ago our brother, Jerry Jarman ( Daytona ), was killed by a drunk driver shortly after he left our club house heading home. We celebrate our club’s brotherhood but it’s followed with pain for a great man. I came into the club 4 months before their first year Anniversary. I didn’t get to know Daytona like the rest of the originals did. I got to talk to Daytona and I rode a few rides with him. I remember him being a calm, cool, and collective individual. He seemed to always have a smile on his face and he loved the brothers in the club. Me, Sparky and Daytona went to a local watering hole and he bought me a beer. We sat down at the bar and he started telling me a bit of club history to educate me for the process that was yet to come with my first steps of being in an MC. So, that alone told me he was serious about the club, but also he was open arms to have me as his new brother. That means a lot. So, to remember and celebrate the life of Daytona, the brothers of Unspoken Sons have a ride dedicated to our brother. The Daytona ride. It’s happened every year and it will continue forever in my eyes. We usually make a nice ride around our county of Lenoir. We begin our ride by going to the spot where Daytona left this world behind. We remember the man. We celebrate his life and the brotherhood we share. This year though, we did it a little different. The club decided to head off to Laurel Springs in the North Carolina Mountains. Man, this was a great trip! I ride an ‘08 Nightster. Yea...I know. I’m 6ft 2. I’m also a delightful 275 pounds and I’m riding a sporty. I can hear the comments already. I’m a man with a family. Family comes first then my motorcycle. That’s just the way I roll and the bike is paid for. So, it’s no hair off my ass! But I will say that 88 miles is the starting point for me looking a gas station. It’s also a wonderful feeling to stop for gas on a sporty. My butt is so thankful especially when you stop for the third time for gas. I stretch my legs, burn a cigarette and take a few sips of a drink. Hell, I’m ready to do another 88 after that! Maybe one day I’ll get me a big boy bike, but my ‘08 Nightster is a good girl and she keeps me in the wind.
