CWA State Conference in Bega Welcomes Visitors Bega is very fortunate to be hosting the 2021 Country Women’s Association of NSW State Conference from Sunday 2nd May - Friday 6th May. In addition to the Conference itself, there are a series of events open to the public, with Covid-safe conditions in place. First up is the CWA Country Market, held at the Bega Showgrounds on Sunday 2nd May from1pm - 5pm. Stall holders include Mystery Bay Kelp, Johanna Weiss with her artwork on linen, Jody Vassallo with her cookbook Farmer and Brave-Bottomed Wombat children’s book, Three Fat Ladies with their delicious regional food, Eden Preserves, Tilba Real Dairy, Paul West with his cookbook and growing guide The Edible Garden, Za’s Coffee Van, Bega Girl Guides with their hand-made jewellery and more. Acknowledging Bega's connection with the dairy industry, a highlight of the market is the ‘cow’ cake decorating competition, plus cow sculptures created by local school students. Local musicians Stitch, winners of the 2020 Australian National Busking Championships, will be providing live music. This unique female duo with bitchin' banjo & classical bassoon, play covers from vintage jazz through to retro pop with close harmony singing. The CWA State Land Cookery display is an opportunity to see prize winning cakes, biscuits, jams and preserves. The display is open on Tuesday 4th - Wednesday

5th May, 8.30am - 5pm at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 31 Upper Street, Bega. The CWA State Handicraft exhibition includes the best of the best in needlework, knitting and crocheting. The Handicraft exhibition is open Monday 3rd May, 11.30am - 5pm, Tuesday 4th Wednesday 5th, 9am - 5pm, and Thursday 6th, 9am - 12noon at the Uniting Church & Hall, 125 Gipps Street, Bega. Everyone is invited to visit these exhibitions entry is free.
