For a long time I hated convertibles. Why would I want the wind to mess up my hair and have every passerby know what podcast I’m listening to? But I’ve changed. This Midwesterner finally made a visit to Palm Springs, California, which was all it took. Palm Springs is a place where convertibles should be pro ered upon entry to residents and tourists alike. The dry heat, the desert wind, and the mountain views would be wasted on a closed-roof coupe. I’ve been scouring these pages ever since for a suitable convertible to obsess over.

Thankfully, this month’s issue of duPont REGISTRY is chock full of ragtops. Our cover is graced by the new pinnacle of rooflessness, the Amethyst Droptail by Rolls-Royce. One of four droptail models built bespoke for the brand’s most important clients, the Amethyst takes a decidedly purple approach to things. It also features the world’s first and only downforce-producing piece of wood on a car: an aerodynamic rear deck made of raw wood that looks nothing like a spoiler but apparently produces a similar e ect. The cabin uses swaths of the same tree meat, along with Sand Dune brown leather and more purple surfaces.

Not-looking to be out-bespoked by Rolls-Royce, Bugatti is pushing its individualization program, called Sur Mesure, by debuting a one-o Chiron Super Sport called Golden Era that’s hand-painted in a swirling two-tone of black and gold. Needing to know more about what the French manufacturer is doing with unique customer requests like this, we grabbed Bugatti’s Director of Design, Frank Heyl, for an interview. The Droptail is the first roadster that Rolls-Royce has produced in modern history, and only four will be made.

Rolls-Royce’s latest bespoke creations move the goalposts for ultra-luxury excellence.

Whether or not you’re a car enthusiast, you can appreciate the fact that in the automotive luxury world, Rolls-Royce is a household name. Across the world and beyond cars themselves, “Rolls-Royce” as a concept has become something to aspire to. You’ve surely heard it before: “the Rolls-Royce of blenders,” or “the Rolls-Royce of digital cameras.” When it comes to luxury, innovation, craftsmanship, and quality, the name has become virtually synonymous with excellence in and of itself, and for good reason.

Famously, Rolls-Royce has been able to achieve an incredible level of quality and attention to detail in the luxury car world, with an unfathomably quiet and comfortable ride, as well as luxury appointments and configurability that allow clients to express themselves through an expensive, beautiful, and magnificent machine. Recent years have seen bespoke Rolls-Royce models, limited to a handful of commissions, take that to an even higher level.

The Rolls-Royce Sweptail and Boat Tail both showed o the ultimate character of Rolls-Royce luxury and coachbuilding being cars with no expense spared, created as a collaboration between Rolls-Royce Bespoke and the client. The newest member of that group is the Rolls-Royce Droptail, an open-top coachbuilt Rolls-Royce that will be created as a series of only four commissions, two of which have already been revealed.

The car is the first roadster in Rolls-Royce’s modern history. It flaunts a decidedly sportier silhouette than other models. An angled take on the iconic Pantheon grille and an aerodynamically sculpted rear section set the Droptail apart from the marque’s standard o erings, and its boldly di erent design could indicate the future of the Rolls-Royce aesthetic.

Rolls-Royce describes each of its three modern coachbuilt models as having a di erent personality. The Sweptail is the “extrovert” with a glass roof and airy cabin. The Boat Tail is the “hedonist” with inspiration derived from yachting and features that lend themselves to social pleasure. The

Droptail is described as the “romantic.” Its twoseat configuration and open top are made for pure driving joy.

While the new Rolls-Royce Droptail represents a futuristic take on Rolls-Royce design, the manufacturer has over a century to reflect on. Inspiration for the car was drawn from models like the 1912 Rolls-Royce Silver Ghost Sluggard, the 1930 Rolls-Royce Phantom Brewster New York Roadster and the 1925 RollsRoyce Silver Ghost Piccadilly. The Droptail’s open-top configuration makes it a captivating roadster, while a removable hard top gives it a coupe character.

Rolls-Royce increased the power of its 6.6liter twin-turbo V12 engine for the first time in a Rolls-Royce Coachbuild project, bringing it to 593 horsepower and 620 pound-feet of torque.

Thus far, two of the four Droptail builds have been revealed: La Rose Noire and Amethyst.

La Rose Noire was the first Droptail to be unveiled, making its grand debut a private event near Pebble Beach during Monterey Car Week, a time when automotive luxury, performance, and history is celebrated at its highest degree. Its deep red hue is inspired by the Baccara rose, a favorite flower of the mother of the commissioning family. Two paint colors were used to create the exterior, “True Love” and “Mystery.” Other coachbuilt details include a specially developed dark chrome finish, and 1,063 pieces of wood that took nearly two years to place.

Amethyst came after La Rose Noire. Its name and color are inspired by the commissioner’s son’s birthstone. This stunning car was unveiled in Gstaad, Switzerland, at a private event, and it too is a masterclass in the painstaking creation of an ultra-luxurious coachbuilt Rolls-Royce. Its veneer-finished rear deck is the largest wood surface ever created by Rolls-Royce, and the only aerodynamically functional wood surface on a new production car. Amethyst gemstones are also included in the exterior and interior, and the lighter purple “Globe Amaranth” paint is named after the eponymous desert flower. A deeper “Amethyst” purple serves as contrast.

Beyond its performative capabilities, the Droptail comes with an exciting extra that truly separates it from the pack. Like a luxury car, a well-made timepiece can serve as a beautiful expression of craftsmanship. Each of these cars is being released with a bespoke, commissioned timepiece that can be inserted or removed from the car. La Rose Noire comes with the one-o 43-millimeter Royal Oak Concept Split-Seconds Chronograph GMT Large Date from Audemars Piguet, while Amethyst features the one-o Les Cabinotiers Armillary Tourbillon from Vacheron Constantin.

With features that reach beyond anything Rolls-Royce has done before, the Droptail shows o just how incredible automotive luxury can be, and the remaining two commissions of the car are sure to echo the same splendor.

Each of the four Droptail examples comes with a specially commissioned, removable timepiece that fits snugly into the dash (opposite, bottom left).

A FOND FAREWELL

This year, I decided I’d do things a little di erently at Monterey Car Week, leaving behind the lightweight sports cars and supercars in favor of a true cruiser — and one that won’t be with us much longer. Not long ago, Bentley announced that it would cease W12 production in early 2024, so if you want to own or experience the engine that defined the brand for more than two decades, time is running out.

After almost a week on the road and roughly 1,000 miles covered, I’m convinced the Continental GTC Speed is ideal for cruising Monterey’s coastline, twisty roads, and crowded streets during the famed event. With 650 horsepower on tap, the GTC ignores its hefty 5,388-pound curb weight, dashing to 60 mph in a supercar-esque 3.6 seconds while remaining relatively flat in the bends thanks to Bentley’s active antiroll bars. It’s a big drop-top that feels light on its feet despite being anything but.

My week began with a blast up to Monterey from Los Angeles, cutting across Central California’s many farms and wineries. The GTC ate up the miles without a care. As I inched closer to the Monterey peninsula and the tra c slowed, it seamlessly transitioned from a highway missile into a docile and luxurious drop-top, with

only its burbly exhaust note as a reminder of its formidable performance.

As the week went on and I hopped from event to event, the GTC’s fine details began to shine. Its eight-speed dual-clutch automatic, for example, is just as smooth whether it’s ripping shifts at wide-open throttle or inching through a Starbucks drive-thru. A rear-axle steering system makes the turning radius comparable to a midsized sedan despite its near 16-foot length. Everywhere I went, the GTC made my week easier and more enjoyable, which, for $384,485, you’d expect nothing less.

As I racked up the miles, the W12 engine remained a focal point of the whole experience. Its sound is distinct, producing a guttural low-end growl despite how high up in revs it goes. It produces a low-end wave of torque that feels never-ending until it shifts and starts over again, with its needle exceeding triple-digit speeds instantly.

The GTC and its majestic engine are worth celebrating because — although a V8-powered GTC will be just as comfortable and arguably more athletic given its weight reductions — the end of Bentley’s W12 signals not only the end of an era, but also the end of a key component that has come to define a modern Bentley.

No other car show in the world can compare to the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and the entire Monterey Car Week with events that range from the Tour d’Elegance to The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering; the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion races; and the Concourse. For 10 days every August, it’s as if multiple phenomenal automotive museums take over the coastal California county. With vintage cars, classics, supercars, and concept cars gathering in one place, Pebble Beach has it all during this exciting series of events. And Rolex, whose precision mechanical watches rival the finest cars, is right there in the excitement of it all.

The Quail — perhaps the most luxurious and experiential garden party ever — showcases some of the finest cars in the world, from past to present and even the future. Held at the Quail Lodge & Golf Club, the 20th anniversary of this magnificent motorsports event saw more than 400 cars and motorcycles come together on the lawn, with many brands unveiling their newest automobiles and prototypes.

hypercar at The Quail. The car boasts a unique Arctic White, Verve Yellow, and Carbon Black color scheme that recalls the colors of Button’s 2009 championshipwinning Brawn GP car. The Evija has a deployable door-mirror housing with the number 22 emblazoned on it (Button’s race number during that incredible 2009 winning season). A laser-etched aluminum strip runs through the seat center and showcases the date and place of each of Jenson’s 15 Formula 1 wins. The car has a confirmed output of 1500 kW / 2039 PS.

“I absolutely love The Quail. Every year the event gets bigger and better, and it’s so cool to see the new prototypes and models being launched,” says Button, adding that Rolex, with its storied past, innovative technology, and precision mechanics, fits right in. “Having the old and the new sitting side by side, as well as the ‘restomod’ cars that look vintage but have modern technologies, is very special.”

Spectators, who shell out about $1,500 a ticket, get to vote for their favorite car. The winning car is named the Rolex Best of Show. This year, the one-of-a-kind 1956 Ferrari 410 Superamerica Super Fast, owned by Anne Brockinton Lee, was crowned the winner and welcomed into the 2023 Rolex Circle of Champions. The owner was gifted a Rolex green-dial Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36 in Oystersteel with a white gold fluted bezel and a Jubilee bracelet that retails for $8,950. Rolex has partnered with The Quail since 2005 as the O cial Timepiece.

Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion runs for four days during Monterey Car Week. Held at the renowned WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, the racing event also welcomes about 400 vehicles that represent almost a century of motorsport heritage. This year, the event celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Corvette and the centennial of the 24 Hours of Le Mans by displaying the first Corvettes to compete at Circuit de le Sarthe in 1960.

There was also a special Formula 1 race and a host of other impressive competitions. They were gentlemen’s races since many of these cars are worth millions in their restored conditions. The best views are had atop the photographer’s tower overlooking the famed corkscrew turn — considered one of the most challenging turns in the world thanks to a 59-foot drop in elevation and a blind crest and apex. The Rolex signage is omnipresent during the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, but it is particularly eye-catching at the corkscrew turn.

The festivities concluded with the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. On the 18th fairway of the legendary Pebble Beach golf course, more than 210 spectacular cars from 1906 to 1998 were on display as they competed for special classes and the ultimate designation: Best of Show. Among the highlights were at least 40 entries from more than 20 countries around the world. The cars are judged on their restoration and authenticity, translating to an exacting replica of the original automobiles, both inside and out.

and modern eras with classes such as Figoni, Mercedes-Benz, Pegaso and others, including the 60th anniversary of McLaren, the 60th anniversary of Lamborghini, the 75th anniversary of Porsche, the Vanderbilt Cup–era cars, postwar luxury, and American dream cars of the 1950s. On the other side of the course, the concept lawn showcased the future of automobiles.

Rolex clocks and signage were naturally present everywhere, and when the Best of Show car was named — the 1937 MercedesBenz 540K Special Roadster — Rolex presented the owner, Jim Patterson, with a specially engraved Oyster Perpetual Datejust 36 in Oystersteel with a yellow gold fluted bezel and a jubilee bracelet ($12,700 retail). Patterson had purchased the car at an auction in 2022 for $9.9 million with the intent to restore it to its original glory. The restoration was conducted by RM Auto Restoration and the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center.

nine-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Tom Kristensen served as an honorary judge at the concours. “For a car to take home the honors at Pebble Beach, it must be the ultimate,” he says. “The precision engineering, the authenticity of every mechanical part, and the style of its presentation are everything — it takes a huge amount of preparation and passion to succeed. To then receive a Rolex watch rewarding this dedication is something that stays with you forever. It’s a timeless reminder.”

Rolex’s history of motorsports spans approximately 100 years, and the brand continues to commit to the sport through its presence in classic car events, Formula 1 racing, or endurance racing.

Although Bugatti didn’t unveil a new model or concept at this year’s iteration of The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, the French carmaker pulled the covers o one of its most intricate projects. Based on a Chiron Super Sport, the Golden Era — and its hand-drawn livery — revisits the brand’s three major eras and the vehicles that have come to define Bugatti. Here, Bugatti director of design Frank Heyl discusses the Golden Era from concept to completion.

duPont Registry: What makes one-o projects like the Golden Era so special?

Frank Heyl: I wouldn’t call them “one-o s.” I would say “individualized” — heavily individualized. Pieces of art, actually. Rather than regard this as a car purchase, we say it’s an investment into an asset. Because these things remain in families, because this car will be handed o from generation to generation, and maybe we’ll see it at the Pebble Beach Concours in 50 years.

dR: What was your biggest challenge when building this particular commission?

FH: Getting the paint to Bugatti levels but still having the sketches embedded in the paint took a lot of experimenting and trial and error. Which pencil goes together with which type of clear coat? And so we worked in layers. We found out that you can’t rub o too much pencil into one spot because then the pigment traps air. If you paint over it, the air will come out and form bubbles. So you sketch in a layer, then you clear coat it, sand it, and do the next layer, progressively getting darker and darker. In the end, you have layers of paint, sketch, paint, and sketch, totaling 17 layers.

dR: How long did it take to conceptualize and build the Golden Era?

FH: I met the customer two years ago, and now we’re here. If you think about it, how long does a car manufacturer have or give itself to build one car? I think it’s unprecedented that someone would build a car for two years. That’s our goal with the Sur Mesure [o cial customization] program. We are tailoring our business to this because there is so much demand for exactly this sort of thing.

dR: With the Chiron’s successor expected to debut soon, is the ease of individualization something you’re considering now while it’s still under development?

FH: We take that into account. You cannot overlook this anymore; it’s a must. It’s part of the technical description of the car to have it done in a way that is configurable. In the end, you try and give the customer all the options. The thing needs to be tailor-made to actually be able to comply with all these requests.

FORMULA 1’S history

would be di cult to discuss without mentioning Williams Racing. Founded in 1977 by Sir Frank Williams and Patrick Head, the Williams Racing team dominated Formula 1 shortly after its inception, amassing nine constructors’ championships and seven drivers’ championships through the 1980s and ’90s. Unfortunately, Williams has yet to find a winning season ever since the turn of the millennium. Over the past two decades, Williams’ performance has been trending downward with brief glimpses of the team’s early capabilities. In 2023, however, the team seems to be on pace to have its best season in years.

WITH ALEX ALBON and Logan Sargeant as Williams’ drivers in 2023, the team has developed a new flow. The two drivers have been seeing their cars become better and better with each update. A new aerodynamic package and an improved power unit have allowed for a more competitive drive in the second half of the 2023 season. Sure, getting a few points here and there may be nothing to write home about to most teams, but for Williams, it’s a sign of hope, as their first seven races only netted the team a singular point. Now? As of press time, the team is in the double digits with 21 points.

WHAT’S CAUSING

this resurgence from Williams Racing? It could be the improved car, or maybe it’s Albon putting down some of the best laps the team has seen in years. Every change that Williams has made this year has pushed the team closer to becoming the competitors that Formula 1 fans have known for decades. It seems the only missing piece would be for Sargeant to find points, but he appears to be progressing and becoming more comfortable in the Williams car. While we might not see Williams in the top three this year, the team could become a serious contender for the midfield in 2024.

While the automotive world focuses on pushing boundaries in horsepower, aerodynamics, and cutting-edge technology, watchmakers, too, continually master the art of pushing the envelope. They are building faster, more precise movements, adding innovative — often patented — technologies and creating 3D works of art and design worthy of display in a museum. The watch world is constantly evolving, but a classic never goes out of style.

This past year, the many brands in the watch industry have embarked on a journey of refining timepieces, meticulously reducing their diameters and thicknesses to make watches more unisex and universally appealing for any wrist. This slimming down heralds a revival of cherished, enduring designs that have stood the test of time. Some of the best brands in the industry are spending months in research, design and development to find ways to artfully, and technologically, reinvent their tried-and-true classics. This yields some special timepieces that embody the aspirations of collectors.

German brand A. Lange & Söhne is known for its clean designs and precise manufacturing. A beloved favorite has always been the Lange 1 Time Zone watch, which the brand recently released in 950 platinum with a solid silver dial that indicates home time and a second time zone at a single glance. The 41.9-millimeter watch houses a manually wound movement and o ers outsized date indication, power reserve (70 hours) indication, and a day/night indicator. Price on request.

With the recently unveiled Traditionnelle Tourbillon in platinum, Vacheron Constantin modernizes this beloved watch with a sunburst green dial for contemporary appeal. The 41-millimeter timepiece is powered by an ultra-thin self-winding movement (caliber 2160/1) with a peripheral rotor that slims down the movement thickness along with the final cased watch. In constant rotation, the tourbillon-regulator mechanism at 6 o’clock beats at a slow frequency (18,000 vibrations per hour), yielding a mesmerizing mechanical dance. This German brand’s legacy of tradition and innovation shines in the Glashütte Original Senator Chronometer watch. This 42-millimeter, 18-karat white gold chronometer is powered by an in-house manual winding movement with a Panorama Date, a day/night indicator, a power reserve indicator, and — at 6 o’clock on the dial — an o set seconds subdial. The shockresistant watch is a certified chronometer, attesting to the fact that it passed a strictly controlled 15-day test by an outside observatory to gauge precision in five positions and at three temperatures. The silver-plated dial is a classic beauty with solid gold, blue-coated, appliqéd Roman numerals and a railroad chapter ring. $32,300.

Always a pioneer with new power sources — this is the brand that brought the first electronic tuning fork watch in 1960 — Accutron’s Spaceview Evolution boasts electrostatic technology inspired by the Spaceview it released in 2020. The new version is accurate to plus or minus 5 seconds per month thanks to the two turbines on the dial side (the larger one is an electrostatic motor). The new design of this classic watch shifts the angle of the movement by 30 degrees, so the turbines are o -center, and the crown is at 2 o’clock instead of 3 o’clock. The 43.5-millimeter piece features a domed sapphire crystal. $3,950.

Invented in 1931 for polo players, the Reverso has become an icon thanks to a unique case design that features a dial/case that pushes sideways out of its cradle and can be flipped to showcase either a secondary dial or a solid case back. The new Reverso Tribute Small Seconds is a nod to the past with a hint of modernity. The rose gold case with midnight black dial pairs with an interchangeable strap from the Fagliano collection (in collaboration with the Argentinian makers of the beloved polo boots). Richard Mille has always rocked a distinctive look inside and out. Its newest RM 30-01 is examplary of this singularity, as it is equipped with a world’s first: an automatic movement with a declutchable rotor, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to technical excellence. Essentially, when the automatic movement has reached its optimal level of winding, the rotor disengages and no longer continues to wind the movement until its power has dropped out of the zone again. This year, famed watch brand Rolex discontinued its niche Cellini watches and replaced them with the exciting, new 198 collection. With timeless elegance, this 1908 39-millimeter, 18-karat yellow gold watch features a domed and fluted bezel and a stark white dial. The watch is powered by the brand’s housemade bidirectional self-winding Perpetual movement (caliber 7140) that

is precise to +2/12 seconds per day. O ering 66 hours of power reserve, the watch is chocked with hightechnology components, including a Syloxi hair spring made of silicon with patented geometry, as well as highperformance Paraflex shock absorbers. $22,000.

Always a classic, Patek Philippe’s Calatrava watches continually evolve but always stay true to their own style. The recently released, 42-millimeter Calatrava Travel Time in rose gold boasts a

rich blue dial with 24-hour time indication using Arabic numerals in gold. There is also a subsidiary seconds dial, in addition to the second time zone indication. The watch is powered by a proprietary automatic movement with 48 hours of power reserve. The movement, which carries Patek Philippe’s Seal, is visible via a transparent case back. $54,900.

COMPLICATIONS

Typically, the words “it’s complicated” raise a red flag. In the world of timepieces, complications are coveted things. Essentially, a “complicated” watch is one where added features or functions go beyond the simple telling of time. Complications can include small functions like dual-time indication or annual calendars and more complex functions like tourbillon escapements (that compensate for errors in timekeeping due to the e ect of gravity on the watch in certain positions) and minute repeaters (that chime the time). Depending on the complexity of the watch, a complicated timepiece can cost as much as or even more than the most expensive supercars. At least you can wear them instead of keeping them in your garage.

An acronym for “living extraterrestrial object,” Jason Wilbur’s Leo is a sculpture for the wrist that was years in the making. Inspired by his fascination with aliens, Wilbur crafts the eight-part case in titanium and black DLC with blue accents and incorporates cryptic symbols as art. The watch is powered by the Wilbur Engine One movement, made by Concepto in Switzerland, and o ers a jumping hour in the center. Three versions will be made, all in limited editions. $32,500.

The new Corum Concept watch, created in titanium and manufactured in very limited numbers, eschews a traditional dial and adds an aventurine-back plate instead, making the movement parts appear to float in plain view. The 39.5-millimeter watch wields a flying tourbillon movement, sapphire crystal bridges and plates, and 90 hours of power reserve. The case back is etched with arrows and the names of the parts that are visible via transparent sapphire windows. It is finished with a blue recycled-Velcro strap and a new adjustment system. $465,000.

A grand complication and a world premiere, the newest Twin Turbo Furious combines three incredible complications: a twin tripleaxis sequential high-speed tourbillon, a minute repeater, and a monopusher column wheel chronograph. It marks the first time Jacob & Co. has combined a triple-axis twin tourbillon with a repeater. The manually wound JCFM05 caliber consists of an incredible 832 parts. Crafted in 18-karat 5N rose gold and carbon fiber, the watch boasts an anti-reflective domed sapphire crystal and a crystal case back for viewing the exception movement. $550,000.

Legendary brand Audemars Piguet pushes its innovative materials concept further in this high-complication watch by using black ceramic for the case. The intricate Supersonnerie movement, which chimes the hours, quarter hours, and minutes on demand, has an all-new sound when paired with this material. The caliber 2953, patented, hand-wound movement consists of 362 components, including the hammers and gongs needed to sound the time. The black dial boasts a Grande Tapisserie pattern, and the white gold hour markers are coated with luminescent material. Price on request.

A true leader in watchmaking invention, Abraham-Louis Breguet built the first repeater watches with a spring bell in 1783. The spring bell replaced the gong that had been in use. Today, Breguet pays homage to that invention with its new 42-millimeter, 18-karat rose gold Classique 7637 repeater that strikes the hours and minutes on demand. The 358-part movement is handwound and o ers 40 hours of power reserve. For a truly elegant look, Breguet’s master artisans turned to the art of Grand Feu enamel for the black dial. A master of fusion, Hublot’s new Big Bang watch is a blend of fine watchmaking and cutting-edge materials. It is equipped with an automatic micro-rotor tourbillon and 72 hours of power reserve thanks to the house-manufactured, 282-part skeletonized movement. The case is crafted of carbon fiber and Texalium and boasts a seamlessly integrated bracelet of the same material. The movement is fully visible thanks to a transparent sapphire crystal and case back. Only 50 pieces will be made. $127,000.

It continues to evolve that approach in the Conical Tourbillon watch, which features a tourbillon escapement in the center of the dial that is 3D with a raised, cone-shaped format. A fast-moving tourbillon that completes a single revolution every 30 seconds, the movement is visually arresting. Surrounding the escapement are tiny spheres of green luminous fluid, and on the outer portion of the dial, the HYT fluid system indicates the time. A mere eight pieces will be made. Kross Studio KS 05 Central Floating Tourbillon Relatively young independent Swiss brand Kross Studio recently unveiled its KS collection of watches spotlighting a raised, 3D central floating tourbillon escapement in the 220-part movement. The tourbillon cage with a fixed seconds wheel mechanism is patented. The case is crafted in titanium, and instead of a traditional crown at 3 o’clock, there is a ring integrated into the case side so as not to disturb the harmony of the look. The dials are set on two levels, and this version is set with aventurine. $122,900.

9. Ulysse Nardin Freak One Highly unusual in its look, the Freak One watch is equipped with a flying carousel and a patented Grinder that enables the carrousel to rotate on its own axis. Like the tourbillon, the carrousel defies gravity when the watch is in a vertical position and keeps the timekeeping accurate. However, the carrousel has two powertrains, equipping the watch with 72 hours of power reserve. Additionally, there is no crown; the UN 240 automatic movement is set using the bezel. $68,600.

Since the 1950s, Blancpain has been working with military aviators to provide the best pilot watches possible. For almost 90 years, Swiss brand IWC Scha hausen has been building pilot watches and, in recent decades, has collaborated with some of the military’s finest, including the elite fighter pilots of Top Gun. Now, it has teamed with the U.S. Navy Black Aces squadron to release the Pilot’s Watch Automatic 41 Black Aces. For this timepiece, the brand unveils its first-ever fully luminous dial — a solid disk of Super-LumiNova that glows light green in the dark. It is crafted in zirconium oxide ceramic and powered by the IWC-manufactured 32100 caliber. $6,800.

The Original Venice Crew produces Shelby Licensed GT 350 “R” Models. These R Models are produced by the exact people who actually produced the very first Shelby GT 350 R Model in the Venice CA shop. As members of the Original Venice Crew in 1965, at the Princeton shop, Ted Sutton, Peter Brock, and Jim Marietta, helped design and build the first Shelby GT 350 R which won the SCCA National B Production Championship. Further, these GT 350 Rs are produced in a building owned by the Carroll Shelby Trust. The GT 350‘s we produce meet criteria no other manufacturer can claim. OVC produces the GT 350’s, built by the same people who produce the very first GT 350, R Model, (in 1965), in a Shelby owned building. These are true Shelby Continuation GT 350 Rs, as if Carroll moved the race shop from Venice to his own building. OVC is building only thirty-six, and half are committed. 1969

This 1969 Chevy Camaro SS just received a comprehensive restoration with limited test miles since completion. Period correct 396/375 HP engine with Rock Crusher M21 4-speed trans. 12 Bolt Posi with 3:73 gears.

Frame-off 1 of 6,639 produced and one of roughly 3,000 produced without a radio. This Corvette has a fresh paint job with 56,601 actual miles! Fresh Onyx black paint with silver coves. Excellent chrome and stainless. New black convertible top.

1957

Custom-built 210 as a 150 model only 1,100 miles. Powered by a ZZ427 V-8 Crate engine with Holley Terminator fuel injection. Dual fan and chrome radiator. 4L80E automatic transmission and 9” Ford rear end. Interior is finished in Ciadella slate leather.

Frame-off build w/only test miles. Powered by a 5.3 LS V8 engine. All new wiring from front to back. Burnt Bronze Cerakote Chevrolet script Holley coil pack covers. All American billet serpentine belt system. Transmission is a 4L60 auto 4-speed overdrive.

Finished in beautiful gloss black. Custom front bumper and lower valance with custom rear deck lid valance and bumper. All new stainless front to back. Powered by Gen III Coyote 5.0L V-8 engine, Tremec 6-speed manual transmission.

1968

This 1968 Camaro is equipped with new GM 6.2 engine with test miles only. Lingenfelter conversion and tuned, Magnuson 2300 supercharger. C&R aluminum radiator. Tremec 6-speed transmission. Ceramic coated headers with stainless exhaust with Borla mufflers.
